Definitely hands down the worse place to get maintenance done. I dropped my jet ski off on a Saturday and picked it up on a Tuesday and looks like nothing was done to it. I'm hoping to ride this baby off of the lot today :) Also plan to handle registration & inspection myself (I am trying to upgrade from a Honda 250 to this Honda 600). So far, I've primarily dealt with Ellen at the front desk. First over the phone, and then in person. She has been very kind and helpful, and has been able to secure and offer me a good deal. Perhaps if I'm handling the registration & inspection myself I might be able to receive a further price deduction... or perhaps a voucher for their riding school instead? Who knows? Couldn't hurt to ask :) I'm a new rider and have my permit, and have been riding my little Honda Rebel CMX250 with some confidence for some time now. Not a great highway bike though. Took her on a couple times anyways. As a person who is always running late for everything, the power and ability to take the highway if I want or need to will be invaluable. Getting ready to head back over to the dealership. (I was also there last night.) Hopefully we can close and I can ride her off the lot today! My first purchase was private sale and ended up being more of a project bike than I had time or money for. I'm hoping this bike will be ready to go with no issues for the foreseeable future! Also put down a Deposit to Make sure the bike was secure. took them 2 weeks to tell me I didn't get accepted for the finance and another 2 weeks for My deposit to come back. My son and I have been to Cycles 128 twice now in the past couple of months. Trying to get some information on a part for an older dirt bike from the service and parts departments. What a joke!! You would have thought we were asking for them to donate an organ. It seems they actually HATE business and making money and want any prospective paying customers escorted out of the building. Management team should read all of the reviews on Yelp, the bulk are 1 star reviews. I've never seen a business this despised (o.k....wait...Kelly's roast beef reviews are always in the toilet). Took my new thruxton RS (bought elsewhere) for a sticker. My bike came with the coveted and expensive led taillight by rage cycles and led front blinkers. They refused to sticker it and told me I needed to purchase all new lights front and back and new license plate holder. I took my bike down the street 3 miles and was in and out with my sticker in 15 minutes. The owner at Todds Auto Repair also adjusted my headlight, no charge. The service guys at cycles have such a bad attitude. I love the sales guys but too bad service is so hard to deal with. I took my bike back to Todd's for 600 mile service and the cost was half the price. read more

Well thanks to the pandemic there service department is slowly getting there heads above water. There techs know what they are doing and while it may take longer than normal they get into the details and find the problems with your machine. I am confident that they provide quality service supported by mechanical knowledge. Customers just need to be patient which can be challenging with seasonal use machines. Picked up jet ski after two months the engine looks brand new! These guys do excellent work! Service manager ( I leave names out) is a seasoned pro who knows these machines! Just seem to have way more work than they can keep up with. Ps. But a Yamaha never a sea doo again! read more

I was going to purchase a sea doo spark trixx from them. I had to tell them over 5 times what kind I wanted and texted them the model and the code of the sea doo. Once I found out the price I told them I would have to think about it and not to order it.Well they are lying or didn't care and ordered it. I was told this once I informed them I wasn't interested in purchasing the sea doo and I wanted a refund on my deposit. I signed nothing and was never told it wasn't refundable. I also never told them to order it once I got the price I said I would call them back with my with my answer. Liars, stay away. read more

I have purchased two brand new bikes in under a year from Cycles 128. The dealer was in my new hometown, so I wanted to support them as well as capitalize on the convenience of their proximity to where I live. The first bike was a brand new 2017 Kawasaki Versys X, but it was at their sister dealership in Arlington (Cycles128 doesn't sell Kawasaki). My salesman at the time was Billy, and he was able to have the bike transferred from Arlington to Beverly for me, and I hadn't even put a deposit down on it. yet. This was based on a phone call I had made while on vacation in Costa Rica. Convenient! The whole process was easy, painless, and very relaxed. There was never any pressure or upselling, and it never felt predatory as vehicle sales so often are. Fast forward to just under a year later, and I decided to upgrade to a Suzuki VStrom 650. This time I had the great pleasure of dealing with Ellen Petrilli and Rick Brandano. Yet another chill, great experience. I told them right up front what I was looking for, and with that knowledge, they showed me other alternatives to consider but never discouraging me from my original goal. Their inventory is incredibly vast and a virtual candy store, and I was glad for the other options that were shown to me. I had my heart set on the VStrom, so we got down to business. Worth noting was a little hiccup on Suzuki's part, as their manufacturer website claimed that there were certain accessories included with the bike that tuned out not to be. Not a concern because Rick and C128 were on the case and miraculously got Suzuki to make good on their claim. They didn't have to do that, because most dealerships would predictably claim their hands were tied and just shrug it off. But not these guys. They totally prevailed and saved the day. That I will never forget. The numbers part of the operation was handled by Brad, with whom I had worked with on my prior purchase as well. Another great asset to the company. I now half-expect people to yell "Norm!" when I walk into the place now because I dealt with a lot of people and they're just a warm bunch. Just awesome. read more

HATE this place! Brought my dirt bike wheel to them just to replace a few spokes. They charged me $600.!! The bike alone wasn't worth that. Also, they didn't know what they were doing, as they put the wrong spacer on the wrong side of the wheel,so when I went for a ride, the chain came off and got stuck against the frame. Also, it seemed to me every time I went there there were new staff. They made me wait over an hour to pick up my wheel even after I called and they told me it was ready. So very disappointed. Not a professionally run business! I bought a used KTM Duke here in May. The purchasing process was absolutely awful. The bike was a mess, the employees were subpar, and the experience is one I'll never forget. It's been over a month since I've purchased this KTM from Cycles128, and I'm still to this day working on the bike to get it sorted out. This is from a dealer who says all the bikes are completely serviced and ready to go. It's the biggest load of garage I've ever heard. This place is run by people who are just terrible at their jobs. I'm not over emblesishing either. It's a company wide issue too. The sales to the service department are nothing more than scammers. Almost every part of my purchasing process was unacceptable. I was so disgusted, I actually went back and spoke to the manager about the experience and he luckily understood and reemburisbed me a few hundred just for the inconvenince. I relied on the parts department to sell me the correct brake pads for my 2014 Honda Valkyrie with the intent to install them when needed. Now that it's time - I found that the pads I purchased in good faith are incorrect for my motorcycle. Today I was told (after numerous attempts to contact the dealer) that they will only honor "returns or exchanges for thirty days after the purchase" The brake pads are still unopened and of course new! My advice is do your homework on the parts you will need before (if you must) deal with this dealership. Now I'm stuck with $180.00 worth of pads for a different motorcycle and I still need to purchase the correct pads from another Honda dealership. That's the thanks you get after nearly forty years of loyalty. read more

He gave me the $750 Yamaha rebate which brought the bike down to a fantastic price. I then did some more homework and showed him how I could save even more, but he said the deal he gave me was the best. I was ready to walk but said he didn't lose a customer so went with the figure I came up with. I was very happy. I then talked to Jesse about getting the bike. Bought a brand new scooter for my daughters HS graduation. It started running rough and eventually wouldn't start after two weeks. Bought a car carrier to bring it to their service center. A month passed and no results. One excuse after another and when I asked for a refund they refused. They blamed the manufacturer and told me I needed to deal with them directly to get my money back. Fortunately the manufacturer did the right thing and bought it back, but my experience with this dealer was terrible. They simply do not stand behind the products they sell and I have told everyone I know to avoid them. I literally called every dealer around for a new Honda scooter and while it's not a huge purchase not one dealer got back to me except 128 cycles. I even called 10 minutes before closing and the sales guy Ken went above and not one what I thought was expected of him as he worked with me past their closing time and got back to me with pictures as promised the next day. I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's RiderCourse at the Motorcycle Riding School in Beverly, MA. I can't imagine riding anything (motorcycle or in my case a 150cc scooter) without the valuable lessons taught in this course ! I received my motorcycle endorsement on my license after a day in the classroom and two days "on the range". A concentrated experience --- executed well by John, our instructor. Stay away from this dealer. Cycles 128 either put the wrong engine cage on my NEW bike or they improperly installed it. The cage was right up against the engine block, so when I put what was supposed to be an dual purpose adventure bike on its side at low speed (less than 5 mph) where I mostly held the bike up with my legs, the "protective" cage hit the engine block and cracked it. Less than a mile on brand new bike. I called them and asked them if they could address this and find out why this happened, the service manager literally told me to "f___ off" and hung up. $7,000 down the drain with these a-holes. My friends, who ride competitively and buy dozens of bikes, said that they all stay away from this dealer at all costs because of unethical practices and incompetence. I had a great experience with Roger and Ellen in Sales. They were very responsive to calls and emails. I'm a new rider so they were beyond patient with me. I did not get the parts employee's name but he was also helpful and ordered the helmet I wanted and had it drop shipped to my house. I've had a couple good experiences buying expensive gear from their retail shop. I went in for a $100 helmet, and left feeling educated and satisfied with my $450 Shoei helmet. (Update: this helmet saved my life on I-93) I've also heard decent things about the sales team if you're looking to buy a motorcycle. Having my motorcycle serviced on the other hand was a headache, overpriced, and disorganized. I ordered tires from cycles 128 over the phone based on my bike's make / model / year. They arrived quickly, and got me into the shop pretty fast to get the work done. Once I got there, they took off my rear tire before realizing the new tire was the wrong size for my wheel. The jury is still out if this was their fault or not. They claim the wheels on my bike aren't the originals, which is possible - though they look exactly the same as all of the original advertising photos for this bike. I haven't done the research to find out for sure yet (maybe update to come). I reorder the correct tires and start riding home, only to make it 50 feet before realizing they didn't tighten my chain correctly. It was clanking and making a lot of noise (It was way too loose). I rolled back to the shop and showed the technician the proper tension for this bike using their tools. He was friendly, but offered some lame excuse for why he sets chains looser. The guy at Cycle's repair shop desk said they would call within the week once my second order of tires arrived from their local warehouse. Two weeks go by without hearing from them. I finally call them, and after a little silence on the other end I am told they aren't there. He then blames their local warehouse for not sending them to the repair shop. Based on this guy's tone over the phone and his attitude when I was in the shop, it's abundantly clearly he couldn't care less about me. It's just as likely he never felt like placing the order in the first place as the warehouse never having sent the tires. Ultimately I don't care exactly who's fault it is, I just want my tires... three weeks ago. Someone on their end should have been organized enough to identify the problem, and communicate it with me. Also, a little professionalism would have been nice. How about taking ownership for your work, and apologize on behalf of the company for the inconvenience rather than pointing fingers? At this point I cancel my order. They threaten to hang on to the $100+ deposit since I ordered with my card, but backed off when I threatened to file a fraud investigation through my bank if they tried (a move I was prepared for based on another yelp review of Cycles). On a completely different occasion I called to ask if they had a valve adjustment tappet I needed. For those unfamiliar, a tappet is essentially a piece of steel in the shape of a large coin. They're a largely universal part, just different thicknesses and diameters. I had the thickness, diameter, and even OEM part number for them, yet he told me I had to come in to find out if he had the right size. Shops often have a large collection of them since you can re-use them from older jobs. The thickness is stamped on them, so all he had to do was step into the shop and look through the drawer with all the tappets. When I got there I patiently waited 45 minutes, trying not to stare at him with my mouth ajar while he doodled on his computer and answered a couple calls before finally looking for 1-2 minutes in the shop for me, only to tell me he doesn't have it. My conclusion: You're just a number to the repair shop, and they'll gouge you for spotty work, or work not even done. Don't let them touch your bike - I'm never going to again. read more

We visited Cycles 128 to look at a used Honda DN-01 motorcycle, which is an automatic bike. We spoke with a salesman named Chris and he discussed numbers. He knocked about 2 grand off the price, but it was still more than other dealerships were selling it for NEW. My husband called back today to see if I could come back and at least test ride it. Chris asked him if I have my license, which I have for three years, and what other bikes I've ridden. As my past bikes were all 250cc, Chris says, "Well, I dunno if she can handle this bike's power." You didn't seem so concerned about that when you tried to sell me the bike last week! He then told my husband no dealership in New England would let me test ride one. He thanked him for his time, called Betterncourt's in West Bridgewater, and set up a test ride for me for tomorrow. Don't bother with Cycles 128. Sexist, over-pricing jerks. read more

I decided to take motorcycle course here. I researched places online and found this one had good reviews and less money than anywhere else. I am so glad I took course-never being on a motorcycle, I admit I was very nervous. I took a private lesson and instructor was great-he was calm and anwsered all my questions and I felt very comfortable and confident at the end. I went on to the 3day license class. Laura the classroom instructor I had was funny and very informative. She really cares about your safety. Kurt and Paul my road instructors were fabulous- The course was informative and well worth it-I would recommend it to anyone getting a motorcycle. Staff in the store is very friendly- One of the men anwsered all my questions told me about different products. This place is definatly worth a trip. read more

I just did the motorcycle safety course at Cycles 128 and the instructor Joe reminded me of the drill Sargent from Full Metal Jacket. Which was a good thing because it's your life on the line when you are riding a motorcycle and if you pay to take a course like this you better learn how to ride safe. I would recommend this course to anyone thinking about getting their license. It's easy to sign up for and the class room is right at Cycles 128 on Route 128. The sale people are not vultures either, I thought they would be waiting for class to be over and pounce on you. But they let you look around and are easy to find if you have a question about a bike. I have been a customer here for a few years rebuilding my old bikes DR650 and a classic GL1200. I really like the parts guys they are really good with advice and that can be priceless when your chasing a mechanical or electrical problem. I reciently had a front tire installed, they took 20% off and ended up beating the best online price I could find. The also gave me an inspection sticker. Helpfully noting a few maintence items I should watch. In the service department the guys have also taken time to give "free advice" all in good faith for a home mechanic like myself. I think they have taken some heat in reviews in the past but they do alot of business and you are bound to get some haters. You can never be safe enough with the mechanics of a bike so do your maintence or pay someone else but for christ sake dont complain when you actually have to pay for it ! - Loyal customer read more

I would just like to let people know my experience with powersports in New Boston. I must say first that this company will work with you if it need be. I sent my four-wheeler in a couple of weeks ago it definitely took longer than I expected which we all know at this time in our lives that everything is taking longer. Also there wasn't a lot of communication between the repair shop in myself while it was being repaired. But after talking with the owner and the mechanic and going over my issues they understood 100% and worked with me. There is one thing that I know from being a consumer is when a business is really legit and when they're honest enough to tell you that they are not perfect. The work they did on my four-wheeler was outstanding and is working better than I expected. The work ethic is there in the work it's done Yes it might have been a little slow but like I said we're all seeing that today. I give my recommendation of four stars only because there was a little bit of an issue. But I can't see the company not learning from this it is what they thrive for and I'm sure they are going to make sure that the next customer that goes through they work a little harder for. Horrible Experience I went there for service on my Suzuki M109R which consisted of an oil change, safety inspection, and a few small items . After calling and my bike not done they said one more day , so I call again they say a couple more days parts are on order. The parts were 2 plastic fasteners and clutch adjuster on the handle bar that's it! So I said I don't care I am picking the bike up. Next morning I go to take it to work and there is oil all over it , it came out the air filter. A Suzuki dealership that sells this bike can not follow the oil change procedure for this bike it had so much oil in it it literally puked oil all over the place !! They are so unorganized in the service department. It was a horrible experience and I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! read more

From guidance in selecting the right bike based on my needs (Rick) to understanding the available maintenance/financing/warranty/tire programs available (Brad) so I could select what was best for me. Getting the bike prepped and ready for me (Jill) as well as the walk through when I picked it up was great. Lastly the retail shop was great (John) in helping me secure the right gear to round things out. After looking at bikes from other larger dealers I decided to buy locally from these guys, it just felt right. read more

My review is for the riding school - and I have nothing but positive comments to offer. The entire team is great; the classroom session was a bit dry and routine, but necessary to get you prepared, and at least you felt very comfortable asking questions. I had Barbara and Wor for instructors for the actual riding school, and cannot say enough for how great they were. They very much put us at ease and they have a tremendous amount of patience. I think the course is an absolute must for any beginner - I cannot imagine riding a motorcycle without taking the safety course first. read more

Recently I called the service department because my 2006 Triumph Sprint would not start after riding for a while. Although it was May, they told me that they would not look at the bike until the fall. They were too busy and Triumph parts are a problem although they are a Triumph dealer. I have brought my bike there a few times before with no problem but was surprised that I would be totally dismissed for the summer riding season. National Powersports in New Hampshire was able to get me in and diagnosed a bad starter in 30 minutes. I don't have the bike back yet but feel that I am ahead of the game. I am sorry to have to drive to New Hampshire for Triumph service but I will not be going back to 128. read more
