I was looking for Adult Driving Lessons and this place SCAMMED me…read more Maybe it's different for kids looking to take driving lessons but I doubt it because I was in the car when they tried to convince a parent to have their daughter take lessons with another auto school that both the parent AND the instructor I was with seemed very aware was run by someone who on multiple occasions was accused of inappropriate physical contact, something I was able to confirm myself very easily with google. I signed up for a 10 hour lesson program, which was not inexpensive, after being advertised that the scheduling would be able to be done at my discretion, that was never the case. The duration and timing of the lessons was always changing. During these lessons they taught me nothing besides the specific criteria for the driving test: cruising around, backing up, parallel parking, and that was it. No attempts to build confidence, no attempts to go out into the highway, and sometimes the instructor even had his hand on the steering wheel the entire lesson. After my 10 hours we were supposed to assess my progress together before continuing, I even had plans to take the driving test without their sponsorship (because they operate their tests out of a completely different town and DMV from where they teach) but instead they scheduled me for the test WITHOUT my consent and then wanted to charge me MORE MONEY to take it with them after misleading me that this was all part of the package I had already paid for. After failing the test they offered no additional feedback besides saying I was "nervous" and have never attempted contact again. Very dissatisfied with the lessons that I was given and very dissatisfied with the lack of communication surrounding the entire process. I hope it's different for younger learners but I somehow doubt that very much. But if you are an adult looking for driving lessons you'd be better off looking elsewhere. I feel they just took my money for everything and gave me nothing. Total Scam.

After asking several times politely, a rude, nasty older lady who was the instructor of a poor young learner, decided to be super disrespectful and dismissive instead of just finding a different car to park on. The student seem extremely uncomfortable during the whole encounter and I don't blame her. All I did was ask respectfully to find a different car to practice on while explaining the past situations I have encountered. I was met with "we can park wear ever we want, you don't own the street" which I never claimed I owned just simply asked if she could use a different car to park on. As a direct representation of the company, this woman single handily made sure no kids of mine will be attending their driving school and I will continue to spread the word of this to my friends and neighbors.

The first thing I liked was that the owner, Ross Panacopulos, is a retired Massachusetts State Trooper as are some of the instructors. These are the right people to teach safe driving. Despite the fact that she is over 21 our daughter followed the proscribed Mass. Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) safe driver course because she will get a discount on her insurance as a benefit. This consisted of twelve hours road instruction, thirty hours of online classroom training and twelve hours of observation. Carmine was her instructor and he taught her well. She passed the RMV road test on the first attempt. She found the observation "tedious" but that is in no way a fault of the school; they must scrupulously follow the RMV syllabus of study. We have no criticisms of the school. Laurie, Melissa and the staff were very helpful. The only thing I would like to see is that the students successfully completing the course should receive a certificate or other documentation of their achievement. The RMV really should do this. Maybe if I ask nicely the ladies at Triad Academy will send her a letter.

Sent my teen age daughter to class here per the recommendation of her driving school. They offer 2 separate classes - defensive driving or close quarters maneuvering. You get a slight discount for taking both in the same day. Defensive Driving - she practiced braking from 65 mph. Turning at 35 mph. And drove an obstacle course quickly. They have cones up and you "loose points" for hitting cones. Close Quarters Maneuvering - she learned to parallel park, back into a parking spot and she got to drive an obstacle course in reverse. I'm told that I will get a discount on insurance once she gets her license since she took this class. The joy of driving school - your kid will listen to a stranger who tells them the importance of speed limits and stop signs. When their parents tell them, they just roll their eyes.

Needham Driving School was a really bad experience. The instructors didn't seem to know the rules…read moreof the road very well, and some were really mean. One instructor kept asking if I could see. She's slammed on the brakes many times for no reason. I would understand if I was doing something unsafe but like it was literally every single turn. She also yelled at me and made up weird situations, like saying I hit a person when I had a green light. Like no, there fully wasn't a pedestrian there. And if there was, I would've stopped. I remember once a light turned yellow but I had plenty of time. It was gonna make it through before it turned red. The instructor slammed on her brakes and we ended up in the middle of the intersection because there was absolutely no way to stop before the light. We then sat there until our light turned green again and we were blocking traffic. the whole cycle she would not let me go, even though we were in the middle of the intersection Scheduling lessons was also a nightmare. They say lessons are posted at noon on Wednesdays, but they're actually gone way before that. You have to check super early and keep refreshing the page. A lot of the instructors corrected me every two seconds, and didn't give me any room to learn or practice on my own. It felt like they wouldn't let me try to figure things out, which was really frustrating. The classroom part was okay, but the driving part was awful. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

They had us doing some drill that definitely got my blood pumping, but were very patient, friendly, and good at explaining what to do so that you felt empowered to try it for yourself. Although they gave us some great information, it was really the hands on practice and training that sets this place apart from your typical driver's ed school. Plus, it was really fun too! The full day course involved a mix between learning something in the trailer classroom, than going out in the cars to practice. Drills included slaloms, high speed breaking, ABS breaking techniques, tailgating drill, etc. We were given basic training about proper seating position, adjusting mirrors for blind spots, etc. Yes, this course can be expensive, but I would highly recommend it! I feel like I'm better prepared to handle emergency situations, and I've been driving for 14 years! Whether you are a seasoned driver, or just got your permit, you can learn a lot from In Control. Completion of the course awards you a certificate that can be used for insurance discounts too, which is a nice bonus.
