To which I appreciated immensely because I am the type of person who does not do well when people are aggressive or curt with me. Makes me tense up. He also gave me very useful spreadsheets to study for the following classes. I had to change instructor due to Kaz's schedule filling up so fast so I next got Jennifer who was just as efficient if not more ( no disrespect haha.). She was a pleasure to train with as well and continued to help me feel confident in my skills while correcting me as needed. One thing you should keep in mind is their mannerism via text. They can come off as very curt through the communications ( at least to me they did. ) so I did a little digging and found out that, in general, people in these professions have to project this demeanor in order to keep the tone serious to emphasis that, "you are going to be on the road, where you can possibly kill someone!" So I understand the approach now. But still takes some getting used to but dont let it deter you! They mean well! The prices are very reasonable as well! 32 bucks for 45 mins of driving. Pretty great bang for your buck considering they seriously know what they're doing. Schedule wise, they are flexible but dont you DARE BE LATE! their time is precious and take it very seriously! All in all I would definitely recommend this school to anyone in need of getting top quality training to be on the road.

Shout out to Arsenio who built up my daughter's confidence. Anna Sab is great-straight shooter. Her husband was at the RMV for road test day. Communication between CS and parents was great. Attend any zoom meetings and watch videos as a parent. Getting instructor hour appointments was sometimes tricky in beginning-but tell your kid not to give up and keep trying to sign up for instructor hours when it's sign up time or get on waiting list for cancellations. Highly recommend paying the extra $ if you can afford it to have CS Driving School sponsor the road test and use their driving instruction cars. Made things much easier and honestly, it was better for me not to be the sponsor in the backseat of the road test car. IMO parents must practice driving with their kid as much as possible-above and beyond the required parent supervision hours. As hard, scary and frustrating as it can be! I spent hours at night practicing parallel parking with my kid the "CS Driving School way" (also 50 ft back up, parking on a hill maneuvers, and 3 point turns). My kid passed the road test because of her commitment to learning to drive, CS Driving School instructors, and the practice driving hours she did with me. Thank you CS Driving School for preparing my kid to drive on the very busy streets of the Watertown area, where adults with drivers licenses don't adhere to basic traffic rules & laws, buses and Amazon trucks drive like no one else is on the road, bicyclists don't adhere to rules of the road, and very few drivers in MA seems to USE THEIR BLINKER ANYMORE!

Finally, I requested that Valerie (the lady in Salem that was not giving me any information besides that they had a wait list, and only accept full days/weeks students) to give me the name, address, and phone number of someone in Danvers. I was given a name (Gretchen), and a phone number that was disconnected. She also stated that she forwarded my emails to her. When Gretchen emailed me, it was basically the same information - Please let me know what questions you have....yet nothing had been answered. In her defense, I didn't bother to respond. I'd already made up my mind, thanks to Valerie and her lack of information. Needles to say, this has left a very poor impression on me. I don't want to seems my child to a place that can't even figure out how to give information out to inquiring parents. He has never been bit, hit, pushed, shoved or hurt in any other way except for accidents on the play ground, such as a skinned knee. Even when this happened, the school called me right away to let me know and I was given an incident report when I picked him up. But kids will be kids, so I expect him to get hurt, I did when I was a kid! The staff are very attentive, friendly, helpful and great teachers. My son can now count to ten in three languages (four if you include English) and he tells us amazing facts that he learns at school. I highly recommend Run A Muck!

I'm not sure if it was designed to help me internalize but it made me more nervous. At various points, he also took calls, which was distracting as I was listening to his voice to understand where to turn, what to do, etc. I ended up stopping after one lesson because I started the second and could immediately feel my nerves rising.

I'm not trying to criticize his technique as a whole, but I do want others to have a clear sense of what to expect. Booking a session was quick and easy, and I was able to get an appointment the very next day, which I really appreciated. I understand that driving instructors sometimes need to be curt and direct for safety reasons. However, I think the type of feedback also needs to match the situation and the student's experience level. For me, the lesson felt like an hour of being yelled at. I was constantly aware that I was doing something wrong, but not always what I had done wrong or how to fix it. My impression was that Lucien overestimated my prior driving experience. This could likely have been resolved by taking a few moments to pause, talk through what we were about to do, and ask whether I had done it before. When I asked questions, Lucien was willing to demonstrate, but many of his instructions weren't clear to me, and his tone made me feel as though I was being scolded, even if that wasn't his intention. If I made the same mistake multiple times, that suggested I didn't understand something, not that I wasn't trying. Instead, he seemed frustrated that I didn't get it immediately and would tell me I was doing it wrong without giving concrete, descriptive feedback about how to correct it. For example, when I was practicing turning, he would yell that I was doing it wrong and grab the wheel, which didn't help me understand what I needed to change. It would have been far more helpful to pull over, explain the steps clearly, and then practice on a quiet street where I could try again safely and independently. There were also times when I misunderstood his instructions (for instance, going into the leftmost lane instead of going to the leftmost lane that eventually turns right). His immediate response was to yell that I hadn't listened, rather than clarify what I had misunderstood. This approach felt infantilizing and made me upset and distracted, which wasn't conducive to learning. Pedagogically, it also didn't make much sense to me. I wasn't paying $70 an hour to ignore instructions; if I wasn't following them correctly, it meant something about the instructions wasn't clear. A more helpful response would have been to ask what part I had misunderstood and adjust the explanation so I could succeed next time. Overall, Lucien may be a good fit for students who thrive under very direct and high-pressure instruction, are very good at articulating the specific skills that they already have and are hoping to gain, and are better at interpreting his feedback. For others, his style may be stressful and difficult to learn from.

We loved a lot of his teachers, but we also noticed that the quality of the school was going down. That was due to the previous ownership (Northeast Montessouri of Danvers). When the new owners were announced, We were happy if cautious. The sun rises and sets with our son. We wanted to suss them out and hoped we would have a chance to do it before they took over. Weeks before the new owners took over they were there available to talk to and discuss how they would be running the daycare. I found them to be super personable and I noticed that my son really liked them too. I also am a stickler for "The rules" aka the standard regulations and they are too. They officially took over on October 1...and it was like going from Black and White to an HDTV or when you see a movie in IMAX and they play the sound differences. (I can remember telling my wife it reminded me of when Dorothy pushes open the door after she lands in Oz and the movie goes for black and white to color) Immediately you noticed the difference. Proactive owners means proactive directors which means proactive staff. My son is happier than he was before (and I think everyone there knows he's a pretty happy kid baseline). he loves the owners and center director. The rooms are great and there is just a much more fun vibe there. (In our case a shout out also has to go to Ms Emily, our son's teacher, who is just awesome!) Look, we all HAVE to send our kids to daycare. With that in mind, the goal should then be to find a place you WANT to send your child.
