Needham Driving School was a really bad experience. The instructors didn't seem to know the rules of the road very well, and some were really mean. One instructor kept asking if I could see. She's slammed on the brakes many times for no reason. I would understand if I was doing something unsafe but like it was literally every single turn. She also yelled at me and made up weird situations, like saying I hit a person when I had a green light. Like no, there fully wasn't a pedestrian there. And if there was, I would've stopped. I remember once a light turned yellow but I had plenty of time. It was gonna make it through before it turned red. The instructor slammed on her brakes and we ended up in the middle of the intersection because there was absolutely no way to stop before the light. We then sat there until our light turned green again and we were blocking traffic. the whole cycle she would not let me go, even though we were in the middle of the intersection Scheduling lessons was also a nightmare. They say lessons are posted at noon on Wednesdays, but they're actually gone way before that. You have to check super early and keep refreshing the page. A lot of the instructors corrected me every two seconds, and didn't give me any room to learn or practice on my own. It felt like they wouldn't let me try to figure things out, which was really frustrating. The classroom part was okay, but the driving part was awful. I would not recommend this school to anyone. read more

My son did great with Needham driving school! Passed his test the first try! My nephew had failed his twice so we recommend driving lessons with and he passed his next test without an issue! Growing up in the city, I never had a reason to get a driver's license (I relied on public transportation instead). Having recently moved to the 'burbs, I decided it was time to procure a means of transportation other than the Boston area commuter rail and bus lines. After an exhaustive search for driving schools, and many calls to nasty receptionists at all of the aforementioned schools (which shall remain nameless), I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful individuals at Needham Driving School. What a difference! Kind, patient and accommodating folks who are eager to help and don't growl at you on the phone. Truly refreshing, and quite frankly, totally smart move on their part. My instructor, Mr. Cam, is patient, considerate and always encouraging. I couldn't ask for anything more. After a terrible experience at a different nearby school (I wrote a nice one star review on them), it was a breath of fresh air to go to a school where they knew what they were doing. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and very calm. They made the experience very relaxing which made it easy to learn how to drive in the area. The only tough things is that it was hard to book lessons during the weekend because of how many high school students are learning how to drive and they don't really do night lessons. They also have an extremely limited range on where they can pick up a student unfortunately, but that wasn't too much of a big deal as they were only a couple miles away anyways. They also have an on site test on Saturdays which is always nice for working adults who can't take time off of work to do a weekday test at the hectic RMV. Couldn't recommend this school enough. They are extremely supportive and know what they're doing. read more

Paul and his crew have a really great approach to teaching. The key being their demeanor. Many of us recall drivers ed with ex drill Sgt.s who failed to realize we were only kids who needed to learn how to drive in a safe, controlled environment. Thanks to Needham Driving School, the safe, controlled environment exists with friendly, knowledgable, and charismatic teachers. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants their child in good hands, and enrolled in a school that will provide them with a positive drivers ed experience! read more

Nightmare. Impossible to book driving lessons - you can only book one lesson every two weeks and the calendar is always booked for the full month. You are supposed to have a twitter account where they will announce cancellations and you have to pounce on it. Nobody ever answers the phone. However, the worst part is the owners, customer service (non existent) and the instructors. My daughter had one drop her off 25 minutes early back to the office because "she had to drive far away to Dover for her next student" and another that reeked of smoke so badly and proceeded to hack up a lung coughing during Covid for two hours next to her in the car. Disgusting. I called the office to complain and the owner said "that's too bad but your other appointments were great?" No responsibility for their terrible service. Also, be prepared to block off an entire weekend waiting on them to tell you when you can do your driving test. They are full of excuses, excuses, excuses. Just watch how they reply to this email......It will be the fault of the RMV, how busy they are because they are so good, Covid etc. read more

The classroom instruction was very good. There were mostly very good driving instructors. The biggest issue, which turns into a nightmare, is that it is very difficult to schedule driving hours. The woman is extremely unhelpful and has a bad attitude. They only allow you to book one driving class per week. They only schedule out one month, so it is important to mark when you can start booking times on your calendar because it fills up so quickly. It is really not worth the effort for Driver's Ed. My daughter just passed her road test (first try) and I am confident that she is and will remain a safe and courteous driver thanks to Paul and every member of his team. From the effective and engaging classroom instruction (never woudl have believed that my daughter woudl actually enjoy and stay focused in a five-day intensive all-day course) to the parent class, to the on-road instruction to the sponsorship of the road test, this program was of the highest quality and worth every penny. read more

Going into this I wasn't sure if I wanted to give up my vacation for drivers Ed! Now that I have I don't regret it at all! Paul made drivers Ed fun and enjoyable while at the same time I learned so much! I learned the rules of the road and the wrongs from rights. Although I have not gotten my permit yet I am excited to so that I can experience the amazing driving lessons he offers! Drivers Ed is made fun by Paul and made in a way that I learned so much! We watched videos to see real life examples as well as going through the drivers manual to learn more about the rules. Overall I learned a lot. read more

Paul is the best! Such a good experience here, I took the weekend 9am-3pm, completed all the modules in about 2 weeks and had a lot of fun doing it. Truly effective, very resourceful place highly reccomend whether you are 16 or 54. read more

Pros: From the 4 schools I have tried, this is my favorite. The cars are in decent condition, the instructors are nice and I finally learned with them how to parallel park. The road test can be booked with them with a confirmed date. The instructors are familiar with the RMV examiner that comes on site and can give helpful tips to prepare you for the test. Also, they are punctual with their timing. Cons: The payment system with them is frustrating. You cannot schedule a road test until you take a lesson with them and their instructor OKs you; You cannot schedule a lesson until you make a payment -they do not accept payments over the phone! If I had to go through the painful experience of the road test, I would have made a trip to them to make the payment, take a lesson and the test with them. read more

My oldest son is almost through drivers ed at Needham Driving School. He has leaned a lot and I learned quite a bit from the dreaded parents' session! The owners are very responsive to all questions, concerned about what they are teaching and quite pleasant. I will definitely send my younger kids there when the time comes. read more

Needham Driving School was a great experience. I found the class not only informative and helpful but left me well prepared. They are super understanding and flexible and communicative. They make getting your permit and licenses super easy. Not only that but I found the class super entertaining and engaging which means it was way better then the other schools around here my friends went to. Paul is super nice and a great teacher and really prepares you for the practical reality of driving. The only way you can walk away from this place with a bad experience is if your just a bad driver or fail the test. read more

I m not a customer of needham driving school.. i was how ever very disappointed in the driving habits of the instructor.. there was only one adult in the car and he proceeded too cut me off almost causing an accident then yelled at me w curse words.. and put his middle finger up at me.. is this what i can expect him to teach our youth drivers?? Everyone is entitled to a bad day but this was so unproffesional.. i would think twice about ever using this service.. based on the anger and road rage read more
