I've learned manual transmission 5 years ago and got my manual license in my own country. But since…read moreit's been so long ago, and I wasn't really ready to drive in a manual in the real world and I was always dreaming of getting a manual transmission car. I was nervous, went out for test driving several manual cars, got embarrassed how bad my manual driving skill was, stalled the test drive car 2 times, and I decided to take some serious training to fresh up my memories and also learn some new useful skills of driving a manual. George is welcoming and very helpful. What he taught me, the 'pushing the clutch in a bit' technique with coordination of the gas pedal, is extremely useful. Instead of 'only let the clutch off slowly' to launch, I launched way more efficiently than I did when I was getting my license. So far I've already got 3 lessons in total. I'm gonna get the full 6 courses in the next following weeks. George told me that the clutch of STI is pretty stiff, so if you can drive the STI well that probably means you can drive any other manual cars even more comfortably. I can tell George truly cares about his students and I recommend this to anyone that wants to learn how to drive a manual transmission.

I waited for around 45 minutes in the dark parking lot, the office was closed, although it showed open on the website. I kept calling their number, but no one picked up. I left 4 voice mails also, called in earlier in the day to confirm the appointment as well and left a voicemail then also. No one cared to call me back. And no one showed up on the site for the classes well past 8. Such a terrible experience. I hope no one goes through this ordeal.

I'm not trying to criticize his technique as a whole, but I do want others to have a clear sense of what to expect. Booking a session was quick and easy, and I was able to get an appointment the very next day, which I really appreciated. I understand that driving instructors sometimes need to be curt and direct for safety reasons. However, I think the type of feedback also needs to match the situation and the student's experience level. For me, the lesson felt like an hour of being yelled at. I was constantly aware that I was doing something wrong, but not always what I had done wrong or how to fix it. My impression was that Lucien overestimated my prior driving experience. This could likely have been resolved by taking a few moments to pause, talk through what we were about to do, and ask whether I had done it before. When I asked questions, Lucien was willing to demonstrate, but many of his instructions weren't clear to me, and his tone made me feel as though I was being scolded, even if that wasn't his intention. If I made the same mistake multiple times, that suggested I didn't understand something, not that I wasn't trying. Instead, he seemed frustrated that I didn't get it immediately and would tell me I was doing it wrong without giving concrete, descriptive feedback about how to correct it. For example, when I was practicing turning, he would yell that I was doing it wrong and grab the wheel, which didn't help me understand what I needed to change. It would have been far more helpful to pull over, explain the steps clearly, and then practice on a quiet street where I could try again safely and independently. There were also times when I misunderstood his instructions (for instance, going into the leftmost lane instead of going to the leftmost lane that eventually turns right). His immediate response was to yell that I hadn't listened, rather than clarify what I had misunderstood. This approach felt infantilizing and made me upset and distracted, which wasn't conducive to learning. Pedagogically, it also didn't make much sense to me. I wasn't paying $70 an hour to ignore instructions; if I wasn't following them correctly, it meant something about the instructions wasn't clear. A more helpful response would have been to ask what part I had misunderstood and adjust the explanation so I could succeed next time. Overall, Lucien may be a good fit for students who thrive under very direct and high-pressure instruction, are very good at articulating the specific skills that they already have and are hoping to gain, and are better at interpreting his feedback. For others, his style may be stressful and difficult to learn from.

Inconsistent, Unprofessional, and Ultimately a Waste of Time & Money…read more I am writing this review on behalf of my father, a retired military Veteran from India, who just completed 7 lessons with Brookline Driving School. Unfortunately, his experience was overwhelmingly disappointing and I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Our primary issue was the complete lack of consistency between instructors. He had at least three different teachers, primarily switching between Ervin and Vitaly. While Ervin was patient and seemed to genuinely enjoy teaching, the same cannot be said for his counterpart. Vitaly was, frankly, obnoxious. He lacked basic respect for his students, was often loud and visibly frustrated, creating an environment where my father felt intimidated and unable to ask questions. If you don't have the patience for this job, why are you in it? To make matters worse, he made uncalled-for and stereotypical "jokes" about Indians being bad drivers, which was completely unprofessional and offensive. The biggest practical problem arose from this inconsistency. Ervin and Vitaly taught completely different techniques for parallel parking. One would say to do it one way, and the next lesson, the other would contradict it. This constant change in instruction confused my father daily and shattered his confidence. The culmination of this failure was on his road test. He failed specifically because of the parallel parking maneuver. The conflicting advice from his own instructors left him unsure of the correct method, leading to a critical error. I hold Brookline Driving School 100% responsible for this. We are cutting our losses and heeding our neighbors' recommendation to try Waltham Driving School instead. Save your time, your money, and your sanity--go somewhere else. This school is unorganized and employs instructors who are not aligned, with at least one who lacks the basic demeanor required to teach.

The technical terms are taught nicly and easily ( 3 point turn, parallel parking, stop signs wtc.) that helps you a lot for the test and also for regular driving. I should mention that the instructor's behavior toward the students is also very nice and gentle. I would though like to suggest them two very important points: - Instructor should limit his phone calls and use bluethooth headpieces. I understand that they get constantly get calls from students which they wants to take, but sometimes its too much and a new learner might not feel good. - They should consider replying the texts of the students more frequently than they so now. It can reduce the number of calls they take as well! Overall, I really like their teaching method and friendlynness and recommend people to go to them :)

DO NOT GO TO PERFECTION DRIVING SCHOOL (MA) -- SCAM ALERT…read more I took lessons with Yohannes, and after barely teaching me anything useful, he convinced me to book my road test at an RMV far away, claiming "they're less strict and more likely to pass you." I trusted him, but when I got there, that RMV turned out to be even stricter than the others -- and I failed. After talking to people there, it became clear this RMV is known for rejecting people. It honestly felt like Yohannes sent me there on purpose so I'd fail and have to pay him again for another test. Complete scam move. Avoid this school at all costs.

Best Driving School in the area. Highly recommend!…read more Appreciated the technical driving maneuver videos and the instructors who worked with my kid. Shout out to Arsenio who built up my daughter's confidence. Anna Sab is great-straight shooter. Her husband was at the RMV for road test day. Communication between CS and parents was great. Attend any zoom meetings and watch videos as a parent. Getting instructor hour appointments was sometimes tricky in beginning-but tell your kid not to give up and keep trying to sign up for instructor hours when it's sign up time or get on waiting list for cancellations. Highly recommend paying the extra $ if you can afford it to have CS Driving School sponsor the road test and use their driving instruction cars. Made things much easier and honestly, it was better for me not to be the sponsor in the backseat of the road test car. IMO parents must practice driving with their kid as much as possible-above and beyond the required parent supervision hours. As hard, scary and frustrating as it can be! I spent hours at night practicing parallel parking with my kid the "CS Driving School way" (also 50 ft back up, parking on a hill maneuvers, and 3 point turns). My kid passed the road test because of her commitment to learning to drive, CS Driving School instructors, and the practice driving hours she did with me. Thank you CS Driving School for preparing my kid to drive on the very busy streets of the Watertown area, where adults with drivers licenses don't adhere to basic traffic rules & laws, buses and Amazon trucks drive like no one else is on the road, bicyclists don't adhere to rules of the road, and very few drivers in MA seems to USE THEIR BLINKER ANYMORE!

Considering how expensive this service is, it is unacceptable that we were not treated with the level of service, communication, and respect we deserve. I paid a significant amount of money expecting a professional service, but instead I received poor communication and was even told that my emails were "idiotic." "I will be processing a refund shortly. I do not need any customer sending me idiotic emails and not do their part." This is an incredibly disrespectful and inappropriate way to speak to a customer and a parent. If a school has an issue with a customer, there are professional ways to communicate it. Calling a customer's emails "idiotic" is completely unacceptable. Parents are paying for a service and deserve clear communication, professionalism, and basic respect. Unfortunately, I experienced none of those things. I would strongly advise other parents to think twice before choosing this driving school. Based on my experience, I absolutely do not recommend Newton Driving School.

She spent about half the time talking about tulips and showing us how to create an arrangement, and then passed around flowers for all participants to try. If we asked, she offered feedback about the shape of the arrangement but generally left us to our own devices (this was fine with me, since I attended with a friend just for fun). We were able to take the arrangements home in our vase. They have a whole series of flower arranging classes, ranging from these types of one off events to a full professional floral design course.
