Ignore negative reviews!!!!! School of wheels rocks. I only started driving when I was 22 and was nervous about how I was going to learn. I called school of wheels based on proximity and learned how to drive and passed my test within 4 months! Domingo Monteiro is an amazing teacher. For as long as I drive I'll have his voice echoing in my head (in a good way). While he comes off as a little stern, he seriously knows his stuff and prepared me perfectly for my test. Never used their service but I saw one of their vehicles (4Runner) on the highway. They were driving slow in the fast lane so I went to pass them on the right and they felt the need to speed up. They need to learn to Move over while driving slow in the fast lane. read more

We had a bad experience with this school -- very disorganized and poor responses to the issues we encountered, kept promising things but did very little until we initiated legal action and got the RMV's involvement. We never got a chance to assess the quality of their driving instruction because we never got that far. Ended up transferring to another school. I think the owner means well and can be nice on the phone but the whole thing was an administrative mess. read more

I'm not sure where to even start, from the insane payment required to be payed IN FULL (750 due to " Covid " ) , to terrible scheduling, awful attitude, the amount of times I was yelled at for literally allowing people to enter the road, to nearly getting into an accident not once, but twice IN THE SAME INTERSECTION ON THE SAME DAY, thanks to Domingo Montiero. Domingo Montiero has zero motivation to control his business, I joined his class in August 2021, it has been a FULL YEAR and I have not received my license, as he won't put my information in the system of the DMV. He sends his students to the Driving Academy all the way in Stoughton for a poor lady named Katy to not only manage her students but his students on top of all of it. I do not blame her for being so busy and not being able to help me, but I am extremely pissed off at Domingo Montiero for not only making people pay in full, not refunding, but actually taking on so many students knowing that he can not handle it. It seems like he just does this as an ATM and has no business on actually being efficient. The sarcasm he puts into his passive aggressive jokes just makes it even better. Even better he showed up to my house without an appointment and stood in my driveway for half an hour, then proceeded to leave, extremely weird and creepy to say the less. Never in my life have I dealt with this type of " customer service" if that's what you would like to call it. He constantly called me while I was in class and constantly said " call me when you're free" as if I can take a business call in the middle of testing. I sincerely wish that whoever reads this takes my word and never gives a single cent to this business and listens to the negative reviews. Plenty of businesses out there that get the job faster, efficiently, and for cheaper. Highly motivated to get my money bag and file a lawsuit and hope he gives the money back to everyone who genuinely had to deal with this bs. Super unprofessional. I read many great reviews online about this place but when I try to call and get in contact with Domingo, he literally ghosted on me. I called him first and he picked up, he told me he will call back later to confirm a time/date for driving lesson...but he never did. I called back the next day to follow up, he say he will call back later. In the third call he confirmed a date and time but told me I need to pay first, he will sent me the invoice but he never did. Do not use this "school". I would give this a -1 if I could. No masks worn during COVID and works by traumatizing first time drivers. We switched to the Needham Driving School and it was the BEST decision we ever made. School of Wheels promised a refund and became very testy and starting ghosting us when it looked like we were serious about recouping money for services not rendered. Domingo shared that he was a retired cop. Unfortunately, after discovering the dishonest side of the business, a google search netted some interesting findings. I needed to relearn how to drive because I planned on driving to work instead of taking the T. Only if my colleagues recommended me to Domingo. I did an initial 30 minute evaluation first to test my skills, and then did 6 hours of driving. He was really patient with me, and helped me build my confidence in driving. I find driving more therapeutic now instead of anxious. He would point out things I can improve on, but the most important thing was just to breathe a bit. He had a mask on while driving and hand sanitizer in the car. Highly recommend him. read more

Domingo Monterio was supposed to take me out 6-8 times before my test, he ended up coming ONCE!!! and then took me for my test.When we reached the test location, he realized he forgot the papers required for the actual test. At which point we drove to his house, and then back to the location. I did pass, but no thanks to him! He always had an excuse for why he couldn't make it. And when I asked for a refund for a part of the amount ( I PAID HIM IN FULL, IN ADVANCE), he told me he would give me the money on Friday. It's since been a few months, and of course he won't respond to any of my texts! So save your time and money, and find another driving school. read more

I highly don't suggest doing business here if you are struggling with PTSD or even uncomfortable around yelling. My three times driving with him was the most traumatic experience I've had from any teacher or instructor ever. I began classes once Covid calmed down and when he first came to pick me up for classes he did not wear a mask nor did he pull up to my door when he saw me come from the building next door. On the first ride he was insightful but stern. It wasn't until the second ride where he berated me and made me very uncomfortable about not training before coming to him. I figured if you're a driving instructor you shouldn't belittle or attack a student for not having the resources to practice outside of lessons. The third time was very unprofessional, the entire time he yelled in my ear repeatedly. I felt very uncomfortable to the point that I refused to return. I've seen reviews about his scheduling and I can contest to the fact that scheduling via his website will do nothing. You have to repeatedly call him to schedule and a majority of the time he doesn't answer. It isn't worth the money to send yourself or your children unless you want to tolerate aggressive yelling and unprofessionalism. read more

Mr. M is FANTASTIC! My DD is challenged by Aspberg's and she has been struggling to learn to drive. After failing her driving test with TDA, I asked around and learned of the School of Wheels. Mr. M. is very patient and willing to teach. He built up her self-confidence with one-on-one lessons. After he felt she was ready to test again, he took her to the Registry and she passed! My daughter took driving lessons at the School of Wheels and her instructor was awesome. She had previously had some lessons at another driving school but still wasn't prepared to be a safe driver and for the road test. And after a couple lessons she already learned a lot more and felt comfortable because he is really patient. And she can finally parallel park! I think that this driving school would be more appropriately titled "school of drama!" Over the years, I've interacted with many professionals but have never found someone who was as unreliable and ineffective as Mr Montiero. Although we paid for 10 lessons for our daughter, over the course of three months she had approximately five. Mr. Monteiro would frequently cancel, no-show, or arrive late - and I don't mean by a few minutes, I mean by an hour or more often blaming the "traffic." I'm pretty sure that after all these years in business he should better be able to predict traffic patterns. Most irritating was his tendency to shift the blame to our daughter while taking no responsibility himself. We finally gave up and requested he return the money we paid him for the remaining lessons (minus one we offered to pay for whatever aggravation he experienced) and despite his promise of reimbursement, we are still waiting for the check but not holding our breaths! Finally, in contrast to some of the other reviews, we found his attitude impatient and rude. His approach to instructing may work for some, but it definitely did not work for us! read more

I spent over 600$ at this place to get my license and came away with NOTHING. This driving school is inadequate and very disorganized. Mr. Montiero is very self-centered and only cares about himself and his money. This school taught me to never pay someone upfront for a job that they have not done yet! In regards to training he does the BARE minimum. He will take you around Readville (where there is barely ANY cars) and around his location in Dedham. You will see that conversations with him are always centered around himself and how he feels about something. He'd constantly cancelled on me for "personal" reason and would even not show up at times. He barely taught me about all the functions within the car. Sadly I wasted time at ADP auto and City auto school who like throwing random teachers and just can't teach you the basics to succeed! All they care about is getting your money and you get the blame for failing! School of Wheels is different Domingo Monteiro truly cares in fact I have been working with him for months my schedule and weather etc has been affecting us from being done but I have without a doubt I will past this road test! Diego did a great job with my son in law who is from Mexico. He was able to point out how he needed to change a few things about how he drove to pass the driving test. It only took a few lessons. Diego took good care of him at the driving exam and at the registry getting his license. My son in law liked him very much and the whole experience was wonderful. read more

School of Wheels in West Roxbury is different than any other Driving School. They are clean, efficient, and high tech. Their instructors are amazingly qualified (my Instructor, Domingo, has many years of experience in law enforcement). Their classroom is CLEAN and COMFORTABLE! I found them very flexible for my busy schedule (they will pick you up for your lesson if that's what you need). I called MANY driving schools before selecting this one. I checked many reviews. I read many of the Yelp reviews for other driving schools first, and saw what I DIDN'T want in a school. If you have had difficulty learning to drive, or have special needs, you will find their professional approach will get you your license. For those that need extra help, they have amazing Augmented Reality Driving Simulators, something that I never saw at any other driving school. I found their prices to be very competitive, and the actual driving lessons covered every step needed to pass the Road Test. They took all the stress and worry out of getting a licence. Just had to write about my amazing learning experience with School of Wheels. I have to be honest, as a very anxious, older, soon-to-be-licensed driver who had already had 'not so good' experiences with 2 other driving schools in the area, I was not looking forward to my experience with School of Wheels. The other schools were not so much not good, I just think they were more used to dealing with younger customers who were more eager and excited about the experience. Not, me. I was about as anxious as they get and I was not an "easy" customer. My professional expectations were high and my confidence in a good experience was way low. I must say, all my prior concerns were put at ease. I was assigned to Domingo Montiero as my instructor. In a word, he was excellent. Domingo was authoritative without being bossy or intimidating. He was calm, and patient. And he was very at ease and highly professional; while always being kind and conscientious. On more than one occasion, I had some driving mishaps and 'difficult areas of learning' I'll call them. With each occurrence, Domingo handled my situation (and me) very well. His demeanor and professionalism kept me learning and focused and at ease. I completed my driving course in good form and am happy to say I passed my exam!
