Called the store in the morning inquiring about some tires and tubes and they said they had it and stated they were open until 4. I made a 45 minute drive to downtown Hayward and all the security gates were already pulled out and the store was closed. I stood in front of the store confused because it was only 3:15pm. I sat in the car checking the hours online as the employee with long hair closed up and drove away in their white Mazda hatchback and their bike rack hitch. Is this normal practice? Do any hire ups know people are closing up shop early? Pretty bummed to be honest. Totally killed my mood and such a waste of time and travel. Oh well.

We went there and they are open during COVID. I appreciate the wash station by the entrance. They require all customers to wash hands prior to entering. However, they didn't have much selection and worse, their customer service isn't great. The person we talked to was not friendly, and in fact rude. I'm not surprised to read the comments here on poor customer service. I shall update my review if we return as they will be receiving new inventory. There is street parking and a nearby parking space across the street.

Totally awesome. Had some puncture proof inserts installed on my Vee speedster fat tire e bike. my first ride with the new tires were totally awesome. Ran over a screw and it was stuck on my tire pulled it out and there were no problems at all. Thank you so much for installing my tires and puncture proof inserts.

Finally got a new Specialized bike! The owner Ben is a cool dude!

Amazing buying experience! I am totally new the bike world, and I'm glad that I came here to learn about the different bike models and get advice on what style/size bike I should get. Everyone here is super helpful and knowledgeable. The owner, Ben, is great and takes the time to chat with customers and understand their needs. One of the main guys that helped me was Sebastian, who really helped me understand the importance of the size bike to get. I couldn't be more happy with my purchase of my new Specialized bike! But I was even more satisfied with the service experience I received from here. Since buying my bike, I've been back to get some additional accessories as well, which they helped with installing. Also, they are taking every precaution during this time to protect customers. They installed a sink to wash your hands before you enter the store, and ensure everyone (including employees) wears a mask while inside. Hats off to Cyclepath for taking initiative to keep their customers safe!

I have to say I am impressed by the quality of the workmanship I got here today. I was having an issue with my newer mt bike; it was not clicking into gear right and pedaling was not smooth. As you know I am do it yourselfer. I tried to fix it on my own but I didn't make it any better. I thought lets see if a pro's can make it better. I have always driven by this place and I like that when you text them; they would text you back! That is a huge plus. So for the shop yes they are open special hours; see there site. You have to wash your hands as soon as you get in. Not sure if that really helps at all as dirty hands are touching the soap but I guess you are fine after. Anyways I brought my bike in for the Mini Tune up service. They took the bike and said they could do it in 1 day this was huge for me. I love fast service who doesn't. They ended up calling me two time and texted me saying one of my bearings was bad on my bike offered to replaced it; it was an add on to the Mini Tune up service. It's was a small mark up and a fair price on labor. Anyways I get there; they tell me what they did; I got dropped off as I wanted to ride my bike home; Its about a 4 mile ride nice and easy. Man the bike felt amazing! All of the gears went in without issue; I was flying on the bike it felt so good. The best it has ever felt. They did a really good job with there tune up and new bearing my bike felt brand new. They got it done in 1 day. I was very impressed with the results. So I would say they are great when it comes with workmanship and service. my only beef is a bit on pricing; as i understand they need to make money and markup. Just know you are going to be paying to play when it comes to bikes I would return 4 stars for sure

Since new management (late 2009), it is not as friendly. You can find the stuff you need, but mostly waste of time. Prices are OK.

What stands out to me is there quality of bike services for repairs, customer service for shopping for a new bike, and bike maintenance. They also have a used bikes section (varying inventory) which is terrific for families with young kids that frequently need new bikes without breaking the parent's bank. On the flip side, for the more enthusiasts or adult bikers they have bikes that should satisfy their needs for sure. The staff is helpful and friendly which is something that's never present with online or big box shops so definitely consider this bike shop in the future.

James and his staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional about everything. They really spend the time to answer your questions and not just to "sell you something." The process to buy a bike is that you go to the retailer website (for example, Giant) and order the bike yourself. You have the bike shipped to Centripedal and they will assemble it for you. Afterwards they will call you to come in for a fitting. Then after this you can take the bike home. You get one year of maintenance, parts, and labor for free. Afterwards, you then pay as needed. The turnaround time to get the bike was about a week and James was able to deliver it to me (after fitting) as my car couldn't fit the bike and I lived relatively close by. Verdict: I'm going back in the future!

On my first ride after I picked the bike up, the brake lines were full of air, enough so that my front brake was not really functional. When I brought it back to the shop, I also mentioned that the chain was skipping off the cogs under load in the higher gears. They took care of the brake problem, but I literally had to go back three times before they warrantied the cassette, which fixed the problem. They just kept adjusting the derailleur. I don't think they test rode it because they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I finally had them go out the back of the shop with me and ride along with me to show them how it skipped. The other issue was the bike started shutting off (it's an E bike) when I would hit rough sections on the trail. I had to take it back multiple times before they finally warrantied the battery and mounts. Each time I took it in they would call me and tell me it was fixed. I would go to start a ride and within a very short period the bike would shut down again. I get that this is a problem with the bike manufacturer and not the service department, but a quick search on Reddit revealed that this was a known problem and a warranty issue. It shouldn't have taken multiple visits and so much time with the bike in the shop to get it corrected. Most recently, I took it in to have the brake lines bled, and when I picked it up, one of the mechanics told me that the back brake was making noise. The service manager said that couldn't be anything they did they just bleed the brakes. However, when I got home, it sounded like a bagpipe every time I hit the brakes and it certainly didn't do that before I took it in. I think the brake pads got contaminated with brake fluid. Also, the retaining clips that keep the pin holding the brake pads from falling off were missing from both brake calipers. I called and spoke to the service manager. He told me that the clips aren't really necessary as long as you keep things tight. I asked if they had them in the shop and if I could come get them and he said he wasn't sure what part I was talking about and he would have to look at them. At that point, I just ordered a new brake pads and clips on Amazon and I'm done with this shop.

He's painted frames for me, at least fifty frames for my business (Rivendell), and his work is spectacular. I sympathize with the reviewer who had decal-obtaining problems, but decals don't come easy, especially custom ones, and Rick isn't going to scold his long-time sources for being late. Everybody in the loop has a story and a reason, and sometimes you have to dig deep and wait till your number is called. I've never known Rick to be rude, and I know him well enough, and have known him long enough (40+ years) to say that it's more likely that the customer misinterpreted Rick. I have never seen him talk meanly about anybody or any customer. I am not denying the one-starers their experience of feelings, I'm just saying what's been my experience. Also--one final thing: When we have a rush job, or something we really want fast, he tells us we have to wait our turn, too. He values his regular customers and doesn't give cuts to us, and that's a good quality, too.

As well as helping my brother find a new bike for him to ride after his old one fell apart. When it comes to value that is where the problems set in as to why I am giving this place a 4/5. Lot of the stuff in this store is expensive and I do mean EXPENSIVE. It could be close to like 120 dollars for a pair of shoes which seems to be way more than most other retailers. And most of the other equipment could range up to 200-300 dollars as well which can make it frustrating to figure out what to spend your money on depending on the need. At least the store has plenty of equipment to choose from, as well as a range for you test stuff out and other useful features for equipment you want to rent. But I would only go here as a last resort if you can't go to a Dick's or find good pricing.
