They have a few different…read moretours so make sure you know which one you booked as all start from the same place and (from what I could tell...) same time. Cathy actually texted me the night before to introduce herself and provide a few instructions and tips. A key tip is bring water and a small back pack or fanny pack to put the bottle in. The bikes don't all have baskets and the baskets don't hold things very well. So you might also bring a small bungee cord to keep things "in the basket" should you get a bike with a basket. Check in was a breeze. The most "difficult" part of the whole tour was finding helmets that fit and sizing the bike seats There were 6 in our tour. We left right on time at 10 and got back at 12:45. We stopped multiple times for photo ops and to look at different properties. We even got to walk through the La Playa hotel which is a beautiful property! I loved seeing and learning about the Comstock homes and the fact that the homes in Carmel by the Sea do not have street addresses. (They will soon as a new reg has passed that every property now needs a proper address... Not just a name.) All in all, I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour very much. I don't ride bikes often anymore as an adult and this was the first time riding an E-Bike. The learning curve is easy once you know the difference between Eco, Sport and Turbo. I enjoyed it and it made the tour almost effortless. Highly recommend Mad Dogs! Note....the coffee shop is just up around the corner. You cannot access it directly from the bike shop.

Totally understandable but a center has a slightly better plan and that they will accept bikes that are electric just you have to take the battery out of it before you leave it with them. Too many problems with lithium ion batteries, exploding you know? We live in a very mountain bike, happy town here and one of the places that will fix your bike after you wreck it by bombing down Wilder through postboxes and Engleman's loop is a center cycling. They are often backlogged because people wreck the ride and drop them off here. In my experience as of summer 2025 it was about a 10 day wait to get the bike back but my repairs for damaged brakes was under $100 and that seemed reasonable. We also have a sister store over near Ni Marks, which is another great bicycling area the demonstration Forest.

My disappointment really wasn't about the software update itself--it was about making an appointment, dropping my bike off as scheduled, and then finding out two days later that it hadn't even been looked at. I had made the appointment specifically so this wouldn't happen. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond and acknowledge the mistake. I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Pedego Bike Shop in Livermore based on my recent…read moreexperiences. While the shop appears to excel in its core rental business--reflected in consistently positive customer reviews and a strong reputation for providing a smooth, enjoyable rental experience--the same level of performance does not seem to carry over to its sales and customer communication practices. In particular, the sales process felt less organized and attentive than expected. Communication around product availability, follow-up, and overall customer engagement could be improved to better match the high standard set by the rental side of the business. Clearer, more proactive communication and a more structured approach to sales would likely enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. Given the success of the rental operation, there is a strong foundation to build upon. I would suggest that by aligning the sales activity that has been primarily driven by the 2025/26 AVA rebate program to closely match what has been demonstrated in rentals would significantly strengthen the overall customer experience. In addition it appears based on investigation additional costs to consumers ( shipping and to some users higher assembly costs) were added when submitting a sales request via the AVA program. Based on these experiences I would not recommend using Pedego for the reminder of the 2026 AVA program.. I hope this constructive feedback is helpful and contributes to continued improvement.

During the visit, Mike also asked about the screen, which had been replaced a few years ago at a different location (which I won't name). He pointed out that the previous repair used a lower-quality screen rather than a genuine one, which finally explained some issues we'd noticed back then. Mike replaced it with a proper screen, and now the phone feels like new--perfect for my daughter to keep using. Since he did such a great job on my wife's phone, I decided to go ahead and replace the battery on my own iPhone (12 Pro Max) as well, since it was down to 69% maximum capacity. That's why I'd definitely recommend Mike and his shop to anyone who needs device repairs or parts replaced. He's honest and will let you know whether a repair is actually worth it. I'll definitely be coming back when my kids break their devices, and I'll continue recommending this place to anyone who needs their device serviced.

Sprockets is far and away the best bike shop in Santa Cruz. Not only will they do everything they can to keep repair costs down, they work fast and always do an excellent and thorough job. I've been to every bike shop in Santa Cruz more than once and have had mixed experiences, but Sprockets invariably offers the best service. The mechanics give great and honest advice on bike setup, parts, and trails, and really want to do everything they can to help you. Taylor and Wyatt are very helpful and knowledgeable, and Griffin and Kyle are great mechanics. read more

I came here to rent some bikes for my family. The bikes were great and Stirling was very helpful and knowledgeable about the sights to see in Santa Cruz. We ended up doing the whole stretch of west cliff and getting a some ice cream down by the boardwalk. I'll probably start coming here for my tune ups, and they seemed to have a few mountain bikes that I might be interested in once mine is worn down a bit more. read more

I recently rediscovered this shop and am so happy I did; everything you would want in a neighborhood bike shop. Not the largest selection of new bikes, but definately something for everybody and with a great attitude. I regret all the hundreds if not thousands of times I've breezed pass Sprockets--and will certainly use them in the future. read more

He let me know that is is something he could fix and that he was familiar with the issue. I let him know that we've tested the battery and the issue was with the controller. He let me know that it would be $150 + parts. This guy had my bike for 3.5 weeks before I heard anything from him. When I did hear from him, he let me know that he did not have any luck when contacting the manufacturer on their website and that I needed to pick my bike up immediately or he'd be charging me $25 a day in Storrage fees. I let him know that I need more of a heads up to pick THE BIKE up before he begins charging me $25 a day and I inquired on what website he was attempting to contact for THE BIKE. Apparently this guy had been contacting the wrong website the entire time. I gave him the correct site to contact and he said he'd get back to me. I heard back from him a couple days later again with him, threatening Storrage fees if I didn't come pick it up. He was extremely rude, still charged me $150 for nothing, and charged me $50 because it took me two days to come get the bike. This guy is extremely rude and disrespectful and over charges for his own negligence.

I mostly do my own regular repair and have used some aftermarket parts. I can say I know just…read moreenough. However, certain issues are not staightforwards. Some cases are due to the combination of little issues such as slightly loose derailleur hanger, not tight enough qr, misplaced cassette spacer, slightly bent hanger and so on. With my limited knowledge, I thought my bike with some minor hassle is not fixable. I found Nathan's cycling service shop by accident and wanted to try out. He is such a calm and knowledgeable person. After he heard some issues I have had, he started overall fixes here and there. What a difference! Similar example I can use is that (although I have not tried myself) people benefit from good bike fit may feel this way. You thought you did the right things but only an expert can take you to the last mile. That's what I have experienced with Nathan's service. This is one of the places where I paid more than he asked because 1. I valued his expertise more than he valued himself and 2. He shared his knowledge which I may not be able to get from just watching YouTube clips. Try yourself and be pleased.
