I paid over $500.00 for a tune up and parts to fix an issue. I went in 2 times and both times was adjusted the issue was fixed. I independently noticed that one of the pulleys on my rear derailer was missing parts of some teeth. After paying as much as I did the techs that worked on my bike did not see this problem. My complaint when I brought in my bike was rough and loud shifting. I ordered the pulleys on line and replaced them myself. They did reach out to me when I posted a bad review on their website but I did not contact them, I figured I gave them 2 chances to fix my bike and $500.00 and that was enough contact with them. read more

Right before Christmas, I had a mess on my hands with a mangled chain and a tough setup on a bike trainer stand. Everything was self-induced I might add. I showed up that Saturday afternoon and was greeted by Evan. He immediately started looking at the chain entanglement and the stand and I could tell he had a plan brewing. Fifteen minutes later, he was up and running. We did get some help from another bike technician who is the resident expert in chain disentanglement. I left the store with a completely functional gift that is up and running today. Evan refused to take any money for his efforts which I told him wasn't going to happen. Finally, he gave in. Saw that they had a bike in stock, so ordered it online. I had to wait about a week or so for it to be ready. It was worth the wait! Bike Therapy will text you once the bike is ready to pick up. Came here on Saturday morning. With COVID-19, they placed markers outside where you should line up. You would need to wait at the door until someone gives you the okay to come in. I am a true patrón of this place. They can satisfy all of your cycling needs. If you need anything and you live in the South Bay this is definitely the spot to come too. The Specialized apparel is top notch, the service department is full of experts, and Paul is a really cool guy with a lot of knowledge about bikes and components. If the store doesn't have something, they will order it for you online. You definitely need to come check out Bike Therapy if you are an avid cyclist. I tried to go to see the store.but I could not get in because the store has their big van blocking the handicap parking. I've tried to come a previous time and the same thing.why do people have to block the few handicap spots. It not only hurts their business but others in the center. An update from my last. I saw recently some lower star ratings. And I know there was some material shortages and some challenges recently with the supply chain. But anyway I went in for a tuneup and was a great experience. Everything done on time and with high-quality. They were missing one part that needed to be updated during the tuneup which couldn't be avoided. They called me when it was in and they installed it for free after the fact (Of course I still paid for the part, But there was no additional service charge). I was also there looking for some gloves. The retail clerk went up in the attic to see if they had my size and found one in an alternate color. I didn't buy it but I appreciated the option. It looks to me like they're still going above and beyond compared to most places. read more

Edit again on 6/4 : Jodi, this not true. Nobody contacted me on June 1. I reached out to the shop asking for an update. I was not offered the Monarch as a solution, or else we obviously would have ordered it.. Your first reply confirms this, you said the service dept would look for a replacement, not that one had been identified. When I called the service department on June 1st, they mentioned they would wait for the Fox shock to be delivered, take dimensions then look for a replacement. Today I got a call from the service department saying that my origonal shock was just recieved, and in pieces. I told the shop I already ordered a replacement. You must have something mixed up. Update on 6/3: it is 3 days later and again no word back from Bike Therapy. I looked online and found that the Rockshox Monarch is the equivalent of my Fox shock which came on the stumpjumper. Bike Therapy did not identify this as a solution. The stumpjumper was offered with the option for Fox or Rockshox. The Rockshox Monarch was $270, Bike Therapy charges $180 for service. I'm extremely disapppinted in Bike Therapy... especially given how easy it was for me to find and order a replacement shock ... not going back again. Poor effort all around. read more

My family and I have been really happy with the service we have received at Bike Therapy, in the last 2 years we have purchased 3 MTBs from the shop. (Rock Hopper Comp, Rock Hopper Expert and Fuse Expert) It's our go to place for service as well, the service team has done a great job on fixing our bent rims and helps the family not miss any riding days. I came in with an urgent need to fix my daughters bike just before her race and the tech was able to fix in just under 5 minutes and didn't charge me. Keep in mind the service team was booked out. I don't know anybody there and went in twice to check out equipment and for service on Specialized Turbo Levo (bought elsewhere). Both visits I was treated like family. The sales staff, Scott, and everyone else I saw were perfect at being helpful and not pushy. Service was just amazing. I very rarely leave a bad review but this one has to be said Recently brought my 2020 levo in for warranty motor work and its been 3 weeks. Many non returned messages many excuses blaming it on shipping issues but never a solution or let us get you a loaner to ride or let's get you a motor somewhere else... With the COVID thing going on and the gyms closed, I really wanted to get into riding. Having lived in the town for three years, I had taken no advantage of the scenic roads and bike trails all around. Also, I had ordered a new bike with training wheels for my three-year-old, to be picked up at Bike Therapy. It was obvious I could not run after him as he zipped around. I was referred to Sahara by a neighbor of mine, who is into bikes in a big way. I did have a target class of bikes in mind but I also had tons of questions on what was truly suitable for me. Sahara was super patient at babying me through everything I needed to know, and connecting what I wanted to accomplish, with what I needed to get. At the end of it, I zeroed in on one of the bikes, which I took out for a test ride. I was super lucky to decide that was what I wanted (the bike was showing as out-of-stock in stores all over the country). I am very grateful to Sahara for offering me the best possible deal on the bike. I also got a few accessories on pretty good discounts. Sahara also went on to explain what I needed to do to keep the bike well-maintained and tuned (I am a complete noob). Friendly little (what seems to me) family owned business. OK pricing for components, bikes are on definitely on the pricier side. My initial experience here was great but depreciated over time. The fact that they upped their servicing fees post Covid-19 makes sense with supply and demand but the fact that the increase was close to 75% baffles me. I stopped by a couple afternoons ago asking if I could get a minor adjustment to my rear derailleur that was already installed on my frame. The woman working insisted I make an appointment 4 weeks out for a full service ($300). Granted a very reasonable pitch and statement... but the fact that I watched as a white family in front of me got their rear derailleur serviced on the spot without an appointment pissed me off. I left the parking lot staring at the bike the family brought being tested after their derailleur adjustment. They were MAYBE in there for 15 minutes. Have some consistency with how you treat & service your customers. You can't tell someone 4 weeks and then service someone else on the spot. JFC. Taking my business to a more equitable establishment. read more

I needed my grandsons rear brake repaired which has a special saddle cable for calipers and called Evan in the morning, he says he thinks he has the part but bring bike in. When I got there I was 8th on line but went fairly fast about 25 minutes. Evan was so busy but sent Christian, he immediately said it is a special cable and looked for the part. He came back showed me the part and I ask if he can install it for me, fortunately he said ok. 30 mi later bike fixed and he had to make a special cable for me.
