We just bought two bikes here last month. And they were very helpful our salesman's name was John. He spent a lot of time with me when I was shopping for the type of bike I was looking for. I would go to other stores and then come back to him and he would answer all my questions about what I should get. After two months of looking around I finally we bought the bikes here. Nick the mgr also got involved to help us out with the bikes and car rack and other items we bought. I'm very apply we bought our bikes from them. I bought my first bike here. I honestly didn't know what I was doing & I was sooo STRESSED. Google made me more confused then ever... Road, hybrid, Trek, Giant blah blah blah. All my stress got resolved when I met Sunny. He was very informative. He kindly walked me through the different bikes and answered all my numerous questions. The whole experience was actually surprisingly pleasant and comfortable. Within minutes, I found out the bike I was looking for was a hybrid! I took out one sexy mat black cannondale bike out for a spin and I think I fell in love. I gave other bikes a chance but it just didn't feel right. Even though the black bike was a match made in heaven, I didn't want to make an irrational decision without weighing my options so I kindly let Sunny know that I like the bike but I wanted to see my other options before making the purchase. So I left and went to different bike shops to expand my horizons but the experience wasn't quite the same. They either didn't have a wide section of bikes or I just didn't click with the staff and I just couldn't wait to get out of the store.. I felt like a walking check book that want a piece of in those stores. So I CAME BACK to cycle craft and looked for sunny and purchased my black sexy bike today. I was very limited on time so sunny was very cooperative and considerate of my time and prepared all the essential gadgets that I needed. I so rarely write reviews, but the service from Cycle Craft was so exceptional, I felt the need to share. I had a bike accident about 5 years ago and I have not been on my bike since. I was too afraid. My husband is an avid biker and was really hoping to get me to ride again and spoke to Brandon at Cycle Craft about this and he put me in touch with Cat. She graciously offered to meet me and work with me. We met last night in a parking lot and I could not bring myself to get on my bike. She was very patient and after talking to me and running next to me holding me up, I felt confident to ride again. What an amazing breakthrough. Cat was so lovely and helpful I can't thank her enough. It was cold and rainy and Cat had to ride home on her bike after we met and did it with a warm smile. Great store, great people. This has been my go to store for the past 20 years. Now I live in Brooklyn and I still come to Cycle Craft when I need something. Four years ago I bought my first road bike. Mike E. helped me pick out my bike and did the fitting. A couple of weeks ago, I brought the bike in for maintenance and I mentioned to Mike that I think I needed to be re-fitted because I had just started having back pain while doing long rides and he took the time to evaluate the problem. My uncle and I were looking for mountain bikes with 20 inch wheels for his kids. He found a few other bike shops that carried new 20 inch mountain bikes. I remembered going to Cycle Craft years ago with my friend and said to my uncle to give them a try. Well inside they didn't have anything for his kids but outside they had their used bikes. We found two bikes for his boys that were used but better brands then the Kents he found. The boys road the bikes, liked them, so we went inside to buy them. The one bike was a Trek with a small seat. So my cousin wanted a bigger seat. They had two boxes of used seat right where they service the bikes. So he found a seat he wanted in one of the boxes. They told use they were going to look over the bikes before we left. Make sure the gears changed, brakes worked, that kind of stuff. Well we get the bikes home we went bike riding later on that day. One of the bikes the chain kept jumping gears without them being changed and the chain kept popping off. Then I noticed the gear selector for the front set of gears was on two and the chain was on the third sprocket in the front. I also noticed it was missing the frist sprocket in the front. So the front set of gears only had two sprockets 2nd and 3rd. So the next day after we bought the bike we brought it back. The mechanic took it to the back to work on the bike and said he fixed the problem. I said lets test ride this bike before he leave, sure enough the problem is still there. We brought it back in and they brought it in the back again. Now the excuses started to come out. The one "mechanic" said well you can't be on the 2nd sprocket in the front and the 7th in the back "the chain isn't in aliment" so it will jump gears. I never heard something so stupid. So I said my brand new GT Aggressor doesn't do this and I have more gears then this bike. So the mechanic said well the bike is used what do you want? We have to sell bikes that come in as trade in's and if their not safe we throw them away. My uncle said safe, this bike is safe to you? My kid fell off the bike because the chain came off, look at the grease marks on his leg from the chain. So I guess the owner came out and asked what the problem was, and we explained. He had his head mechanic look at it, then he came back out and said your right the bike isn't safe, The rear hub is messed up, this was wrong, that was wrong. He said all the drivetrain parts were shot and he didn't know why the took that bike in for a trade in. He gave us a loaner bike till he found another 20 inch mountain bike. We returned the loaner the next day and found a nice mongoose on craigslist. BTW the seat my cousin picked out from that box of seats was from bikes that people replaced the seats. So they charge $25 for each seat in that box that they got for free and they keep the old seat you had replaced. The next day we found that out when we saw the seat my cousin had replaced in the box. Now that's just low to do in my book. This is a "high class" bike shop that is ran by low class people. read more

Allright...so positive update here. The owner (Brendan) called me today and was inquiring as to what the issue was during my visit(s). He patiently listened as I explained to him what the problems were. He said that they are making some changes there with the staff and offered to refund me whatever was charged to me initially. The owner seems to care what people think and is using my feedback (and yours) to make the experience at his shop more enjoyable. The one star is because they were actually open when their website said so. Otherwise they were a complete disappointment and unprofessional. Called about a specific Trek bike in a specific color. Was told it was in stock in that color and that if the size was wrong for my son they could deliver the correct size from their warehouse the next day. When we arrived, no bike in that color could be found, nor did their "warehouse" have it. If I wanted to see that color I would need to put down a 50% deposit. When we politely said no thank you, the young man helping us sacrcastically said "sorry we couldn't help you". We then called the bicycle store in Lincoln Park, who had it in stock and treated us like gold. A half hour later my son had his bike. read more

I stopped by on a quest to pick up a more comfortable seat than the stock one that came with my bike, purchased from Walmart. Tim was first to approach me. He was pleasant, professional and direct, without being aggressive. He took almost a full hour to ask me qualifying questions, get to know me and let me ride three different saddles on a showroom bike, before I decided on the one for me. Had I not stopped by, I would have undoubtedly gone to Walmart and bought the cheapest possible "gel" seat. With Tim's help however, I have the right seat, the measurements taken for proper set-up, and the peace of mind that I can return the seat if Im not satisfied for return or refund. They even installed my new seat on the old seat-post while I waited. Tim made my buying experience a genuine pleasure. Obviously this business is doing something right! read more

This bike shop is great. All of my bikes have come from this shop since my first one. The reason I'm writing this review even though I haven't bought a bike in years is because I went there today to look at a new mountain bike for my dad and the people working there are very knowledgeable and provided me with a lot of help. They have bike for all age groups young and old and many styles of bike ( mountain, street, even bmx). When I had to get my bike tuned up a person who worked there took my bike to his house to tune up because their shop was closed. Excellent shop and great people. read more

I stumbled on this store several years ago, but it seemed quite pricey to me, so I had never purchased anything from them, until last year, when I went in to look around, and was greeted by the friendliest, and most knowledgable staff. I ended up buying new shoes, pedals and a jersey from them, at various times throughout last season. As a result, of the good vibe, when it came time for a new bike purchase this year (no, I didn't really need a new bike, but then I'm sure you know what it's like when the urge bites you), I of course went to their showroom first and was greeted warmly by Mike who answered all of my questions, without any pressure to buy. I then went to several other shops to compare prices, inventory, different brands, etc. I had various experiences at the other shops, ranging from adequate to wonderful. But when I went back to Cycle Craft, the customer service that I received from Brendon (owner) was beyond exceptional, not only does his enthusiasm for bicycling show, his knowledge of the equipment that he both sells, as well as equipment that he does not is beyond reproach. His knowledge of the market is very impressive and encompassing. He too put up with my barrage of questions and stories not even related to bicycling. He answered all of my questions honestly, even when it may have meant losing a sale. When I thought that I would be interested in a bike that was not in the store's inventory, he had one delivered the following day. When I went back to see and test ride the bike, Brendon let me take it for a test ride, which of course is par for the course when purchasing a new bicycle, but at the other shops that I went to, they would let me test ride in the parking lot, or perhaps on a small 1 mile loop. He basically told me to take the bike for as long as I need to truly get a feel for it, and even put pedals on that matched my shoes, where as the other stores I went to only used flats for test rides. Needless to say (I'll say it anyway). I did indeed purchase a new Cannonade Synapse Carbon bike from Cycle Craft. I see that some of the other reviews here complain about prices being high, and service being poor, This has not been my experience at Cycle Craft. Perhaps the people that had bad experiences went at the height of season, when all bike shops are backed up, or were there before this management was in place. No, this was not a paid endorsement, actually I never write reviews, but I left the shop feeling good about the whole transaction, something which is a rarity these days in retail. read more

I agree with 20" wheel review. I have $7k custom bike and wanted my cracked star wheels replace on my derauler. Everything on bike was working like clockwork pre visit...just wanted preventive maintenance to keep it right Got ego massaged into delux tune, new chain and new durace cluster Got bike back after $375 investment... bike didnt shift right...star wheels still cracked Brought back got new wheels... and charged another $35...got gears adjusted so ut shifted... 1wk later shifter cables break off so I WENT TO AN ALTERNATIVE shop - replaced the wires and then was asked to inspect the brake cables which were showing breakage and we replaced all for 50$! I believe the shop has forgotten about quality of service in favor of quantity. For ne a tune up of these costs get the bike opened up snd lubed, aligned or replaced to make it "per spec". I could have replaced the parts myself - it is not rocket science but I wabted a specialist to use tools of the trade to give me a custom bike that I could ride off the block without reservation. Definitly got a $25 tune job that net cost - took $455 out of my pocket. read more

I needed a freewheel installed and possibly the outer cog switched due to frame clearance for an event -Racin4mason. A benefit ride to help inner city youths attend camp in a rural setting. Went to a shop in Morristown, couldn't help me. Let me give Cycle Craft another chance I thought. I had been put off by an elitist attitude in the past. I was directed to their repair section. the bearded spectacled tech (Where's Waldo?). Took a look and said he could change the freewheel out but not take off the cog. All right, then. I explained my time constraint. Could he possibly do it today? NO WAY possible, Not until Saturday. I explained again my needing this done today as I would not be in the area again before the race. Sorry- see you later. My last experience was less than stellar with this repair dept. I had brought 3 wheels in to be trued last fall. First they insisted that someone else's wheels where mine when I went to pick them up. ???. When they finally located them they claimed that they were still a little out of true, they did the best they could. $70+ dollars wasted. I was so frustrated, I purchased a spoke tool, watched a Youtube video and re-trued the wheels to an almost perfect state. I had purchased this Italian racing Bike that I needed the freewheel changed in this very store 27 years ago- so much for customer loyalty. I have recently got back into cycling in a big way- I spend MONEY. I was planning on getting fitted there and possibly buying a high end bike to round out my collection. Not happening now, never going back. Oh yeah, went to Sussex Bike and Sport shop out by where I live. Not only did they do the repair in 3 minutes ( with a smile and a friendly approachable attitude), they would have changed out the outer cog in a heartbeat. Turns out it was not needed. I had enough clearance. Doing all my business there from now on. This is a lesson for other small business- HOW TO LOSE CUSTOMERS 101.
