There were two guys there and they both looked over the tires and said they looked fine - even though they were surprised that they were probably 20 years old. They put air in them and I was on my way! New tires, they said, were about $60/each so between that and new tubes and labor it would have been about $200 - which I was ready to spend - but these two great guys told me I didn't need new tires. In my book, customer service doesn't get any better than that and I am very grateful!! When I DO need anything for my bike, I will CERTAINLY use this shop!!!

Marty's also then claimed my front shock was broken and could not be repaired, but that it was still "good enough", even though it was flat as a pancake. A few weeks later I saw an old friend who knows a thing or two about bikes. He took one look at the shock, pumped it up in about three seconds with a very basic tool he carries with him in his car, and now it is perfect. He could not believe it when I told him Marty's had no idea what to do.

The lady behind the counter looks at me like I have 3 heads in asking for such a thing. A guy then comes in and is reasonably helpful, asking what size it needs to be. I tell him it needs to be 200mm or 8" and he sells me (what I later see is) an 8.5" tube for $12. I could have gotten 2 correct-sized ones on Amazon for $10 total. I get that being a bike store they may not have what I needed for a scooter, but just say you don't have it instead of selling me the wrong thing for double the price. Probably would be alright for bike parts (hopefully) but this was an annoying experience

Then, 10 min into the real maiden voyage, the right pedal flew off and I ate it. Also, noticed the brakes were squealing and ineffective. The lest pedal was not properly torqued. I took it back to Martys - despite the fact they put the pedals on they blamed it on the manufacturer (Trek) or me for "backpedaling" (which I didn't do). Couldn't possibly be anything Marty's did, right? And, they said my brakes need to be replaced because I stored it in the garage for 6 months. Again, not because Marty's stored it in their basement for months before selling it, right? Never again will I put safety in their hands.
