I was in need of some relief for my nephew when I had him down here for a week. We all know how little kids get with coughing. He was coughing so much that he gave me a headache. I had had enough of it and needed to get him some medicine so that I could find some relief. After being in the area for a bite to eat, and before heading back towards home we stopped in here real quick just so that we could get him some cough medicine. I rarely have to buy this type of thing and knew very little of what I needed to pick up for him. After entering I had to orient myself to where everything was. Make my way to the area and find the item of what I needed for him. After looking items over and making the best decision for him, and after a quick consultation with his mother we found our way to the register. The checking out process was very lackluster. Instead of it being customer service oriented, it felt like you were being watched by a guard at a prison. The sole employee that I saw while in here was standing guard at the register area. No affect on their face, no interaction of any kind, just a kind of 'get your stuff and get out' attitude. Glad that this is not my neighborhood CVS. Or that my office is located anywhere near here. I would definitely go out of my way to go to any other location or a competitor. read more

Needed pain medication while I was in town and came across this CVS location on Yelp. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Everything was well organized, and it as super easy to find what I needed. Someone dropped me off, so I can't speak for the parking situation much, but inside, the experience was smooth and efficient. read more

This is a smaller CVS that has pretty much everything you'd need and expect. Staff is very friendly and seems to watch everything going on like a hawk so I wonder if they've had some theft issues here. This place does the job if you're nearby and need something and prices are decent too. read more

Packed full with goodies a lot of them I didn't need. The store was clean and the staff was all very pleasant and the line was super fast. Great for snacks when you don't want to pay the high prices at the hotels. read more

This is a large CVS located centrally in downtown. They have everything you could need from makeup to dreidels. The employees have been relatively friendly and they have an effective system for moving through the self-checkout. They have the photo services and a pharmacy as well. This location is near a place I frequent regularly so I will definitely return to pick up items in the future. read more

Botton: Typical CVS for the city. I actually like being able to find a CVS in the city because whether I'm in DC for a work meeting or just to have fun I appreciate being able to pop in for water, sundries and other little things I need. Like many of CVS's stores in big cities, they don't open super early and the layout is a little odd compared to what you get from a free standing CVS in the 'burbs. They have your typical pharmacy stuff, some groceries and a small selection of DC souvenirs. Overall this store is what I'd expect for a city CVS. read more

My sister visited this CVS 2 weeks ago and saw a RAT (yes a live RAT) running around the store. She told the staff about the issue and all they did was say they had called someone. I am appalled by this experience. I also have found the staff to be particularly helpful on previous visits. I don't plan to ever return. read more

My five star rating for this CVS Pharmacy is all about its pharmacist, Joseph Aoun. It's rare to find a pharmacist who is more knowledgeable about his profession and diligent in helping his customers than Joseph. He really goes the extra mile, whether it's his always timely filling of prescriptions, dealing with insurance companies, or finding a money-saving coupon. Joseph really cares about his customers, many of whom are clearly return clients who are on a first-name basis with him. To have such a friendly, well-informed and reliable pharmacist is well worth skipping the pharmacies in my area and making the drive to this particular CVS. The rest of the store should be commended as well for almost always having someone to greet you as you walk through the door. read more

This is the closest CVS to my office so I come here a lot and I've always had fairly good luck with the service, even though I do usually just use the self checkout. In fact, I think this one of the only CVS' that has a fairly good track record of keeping their self service checkouts functioning for a large amount of the time. When I was at the photo counter picking up some photos I needed developed the lady was very nice and informative. Its always nice when someone works in a specialized section of a store like this and has a fairly good sense of the department and is pretty personable to boot. The standout here though was the pharmacy, one of the ladies in particular was very personable, engaging, and a great multi-tasker - by that I mean her work and service didn't suffer because she was on the phone filling one prescription, helping me AND another customer at once. In fact, even through all that she managed to remember me when I walked in later and had a very cool conversation with me when she told me that my prescription was so expensive and of course that there was no generic alternative to it. Although I hesitate rating chain establishments I always appreciate very personable and quality service so I had to review this particular CVS especially the pharmacy. read more

CVS is at the head of a truly Dan Brown-eque conspiracy to ruin the lives of each and every American, one day at a time. This location gets +1 star because one employee was actually helpful, once. He was probably stoned. In any case, he didn't make me wait 20 minutes for no reason, which was shocking. There are lots of little bodegas around the neighborhood - go here only if you need a prescription or a good reason to stay in school. read more

The staff in this shop need to go! There is only one guy there (Malcom?) who cares about his job. The customer service here is sub zero. Emealis or whatever his name is, is only there physically and not mentally. Firstly he told I was at the wrong CVS and I pointed to my GPS showing me that I was indeed at 717, 14th st. He said he thought the address was New York Ave and had to print out a receipt to confirm the store's address! the next 20 minutes I spent there were an ultimate lesson in patience as this man entertained me with his utter incompetence. This CVS annoys me so much. But alas, it's the closest one to me. It's self checkout only and at least one of the self checkout thingys is always broken. And the selection of items is mediocre at best - not what I've come to expect from a CVS. And then, of course, there's the inconvenient hours. Bottom line, it's just not that nice of a CVS. I have never had any problems here during the work day, but every time I need to stop by after work, it's a complete disaster. Twice there has not been a single staff member in the entire store to help those of us who needed service beyond the automatic checkout - besides customer service, can we say security issue? Every other time, there has just been one staff member handling the frequently malfunctioning automatic checkouts and the rest of the store, although even then the last time I was in, she stepped out for a few minutes, leaving the store unstaffed. If it wasn't the only CVS between my office and the Metro, I would never come again. read more

I have shopped at this location before when traveling to DC. You can usually find what you need quickly; but, self-check out is about the only option. The place is not the best organized, as it gets picked over quite often, by locals and tourists that are rushed to get what they need and get out. They do offer a selection of premade food items, which aren't bad at all, good in a pinch. We picked up some cough medicine, cough drops, and water for our daughter who wasn't feeling well. Just the fact they were there and open justifies higher ranks than other reviews would suggest. read more

Pretty ghetto CVS and small. They were cleaning so they were prohibited from selling any food or beverage which is plain stupid.

This place is so hot or miss when it comes to the staff. The woman who was working tonight was not pleasant at all. I think she wanted me to go to the self-service line and get out of the store but that wasn't her luck. She wasn't helpful answering questions about the products I was purchasing, nor was she helpful answering my questions regarding the coupon I wanted to use. It wasn't that she didn't know, it was just that she didn't want to be bothered or be helpful. It doesn't take anything to be nice. It doesn't take anything to say have a good night or thank you when I make a purchase or to try and answer a question. It's just good customer service. As I think about it, I will likely return the items I purchased because I don't like giving my business to places that treat me poorly. Sometimes they are decent in there but not tonight. The bad part is that cvs has great weekly deals but not always the best staff. read more

This is the closest CVS to my office, so I'm here all the time. Use the self check out to avoid the lunchtime lines. The selection is decent,. Overall, the cashiers are friendly, but they can be slow. The staff at the pharmacy is very friendly and the pharmacist is very helpful. read more

This review is for the pharmacist Joseph. He goes above and beyond what any pharmacist has ever done for me. He took it upon himself to call me to check in on how I was doing after starting a new medication, and he counseled me on side effects and different options to discuss with my doctor. Service here is not just unfriendly but also incredibly slow in the pharmacy section. They failed to explain the drugs to me nor prompt me for my CVS card. They also did not explain my charges until I asked and were very curt in their explanation. Would not recommend coming here unless you have no other choice. Really bad read more
