Pharmacy located in back of store.

Unfortunately, each time I go to CVS in D.C., they can't process my requests. They have excellent flu/covid vaccine service. However, when my veterinarian called in a new order for my dog, they weren't able to fill three of her urgent meds. I'm not sure what the issue was because Safeway had a hard time at first too but ended up processing them. I had to establish myself/dog at a new place (Safeway) because they couldn't get the order from the vet.

    My burned hand

July 26th 2023, I Walked in with burned hand and so much pain to get burn relief. I walk directly to its section, and unfortunately it was very complicated and unorganized, I couldn't find it so I went to the pharmacy and asked the lady to show me where can I find it since I had so much pain . She denied to show me where its located and asked me to go to the line since it was seven people there. I explained for her that that I have an emergency and showed her my burned hand, she started to yell on me and call me rude! Actually the manager guy with long hair was also next to her, behind the counter and he didn't care also. I walked to the register and my good luck the guy was nice enough to walk with me to show the product. Unfortunately he neither could find it. He went to pharmacy counter and made the manager to address him where to find it. The burn relief was right by where the lady was standing and she could show it to me just with her finger. Finally after about 20 minutes I was able to put medicine on my burned hand and got calm. This cvs is a business center and the worker on its pharmacy have no human sense.

Be ware of Protus Ukeomah, the pharmacist at CVS store 1344. In multiple instances, Protus lacks customer service, is dismissive, and refused to share the required information to fill my prescription. Pharmacists with this nonchalant disposition should not hold positions assisting patients whose medication contributes to their livelihood.

Bad customer service and I am not confident staff are equipped to get prescriptions correct.

If I'm ever missing a last minute ingredient for a recipe, this is my first stop. They have such a great selection and I've come in looking for: 1) fresh fruits & veggies 2) variety of seltzer waters 3) spices including pepper, etc. 4) hummus (not sure where they source it from, but it was delicious) 5) stamps 6) hygiene & first aid 7) ice cream 8) organic milk. In addition to the above, they have bread from Lyon Bakery (my favorite bakery in DC), a wide selection of frozen foods, a decent selection of raw ingredients and snack foods. The other thing I love is that they allow dogs in the store & even have a jar of dog treats to share. I know this store might not look like much from the outside, but give it a chance & go in. You won't be disappointed.

HOWEVER, very unfortunate to report that in 2026, there is still a card minimum. a 10$ card minimum. so if you were thinking about coming in for a quick bite or drink, you better have cash. i had just used all my cash at the laundromat and therefore wasnt able to buy my coveted chocolate chip cliff bar so tragic, so sad. but i live on ! anyhow, while the staff was kind, i despise business owners thrusting card fees onto their patrons. for shame !!

Mostly stocked with gourmet snacks and light lunches, there is also a to-go / delivery ($3 charge) menu to order different courses from the Presidents Sports Bar attached to the Renaissance Hotel. It's well stocked with random items like homemade cookies and box cookies to house salads and sandwiches ( and even cold desserts like tiramisu and mini bananas fosters. There is a candy bucket tree with single candies in the clear buckets. They have a small coffee bar with carafe coffee and teas. You can also buy fruit individually and croissants. They have a freezer stocked with gelato cups, ice cream bars, etc. The items are reasonably priced, but certain bagged items like those same cookies ( Mexican hot chocolate) that they sell at Dolcezza can run up to $6. It's definitely a must try for the late afternoon or late night snacker. They are open until Midnight.

Talking to the friendly clerk, it sounded like the market gets quite busy during lunch time. I didn't try any of the food, but it looked pretty good. They also carry some local chocolates - I did try the wine truffles which the clerk recommended. They were $6 for four individually wrapped treats. The truffles satisfied my craving for sweets perfectly and I thought were reasonably priced. I would come back here if I were looking for a convenient snack and it were too miserable too go outside. The service was good here, but I'm taking off a star because the prices are not clearly marked and I had to ask about quite a few items.
