GETTING HERE: As there are so many CVS stores in Ventura, this is the one located at Telegraph and Kimball shopping center, where the Smart and Final is. REVIEW: I will stop at this location if I am in the area. In full disclosure, I no longer use their pharmacy (thankfully). But, more often that not, the service is basic at best. Nothing out of the ordinary in either way. Additionally, the shelves are often (mostly) empty but that's pretty much every CVS I frequent. I have ended up using CVS.com for most of my needs now. When I come to this location, I have a purpose or specific item in mind that I need. I always hope for the best that they will have it in stock, even with my low expectations. I have never had an issue with getting my medication here. They fill prescriptions pretty quickly and there's someone always here ready to help you. I didn't like Vons pharmacy. They were always gone or took way too long to help or fill a prescription. I much prefer this one. Only complaint is the line. Second cvs in Ventura to have a horrible pharmacy. Long lines, SLOW staff..... there will be six heads back there and only one person on register. A prescription was picked up and the cashier clerk didn't check/run it through if covered under insurance and the prescription was paid in full when it could have been paid discounted. Please re-train your employees. That cashier clerk had 1 job and still couldn't correctly do it. read more

I've been coming here for almost 20 years - the pharmacists really go out of their way to make sure that you have the discounts available, the pharmacist respond to all of my questions, they returned my phone calls, and what recently, they have implemented some IT systems that make callbacks and refilling medication so much easier. Why are you forcing customers to use self check out. I dealt with the most rude employee and she has been rude in the past. She forced me to self check out and said "don't let this ruin your day" good advice but when I got home and looked at the receipt she did the process for me so I didn't learn how to use the system nor do I want to. She charged me for candy corn twice $13.49. I want my money back! I tried to call on the phone and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone now that ruined my day. I am a longstanding customer and have been treated so poorly that I will never shop at CVS again. The days of the customer is always right are long gone how sad. There are so many negative reviews of CVS generally, I wanted to add our experience, which was very positive. We moved recently from San Clemente to Ventura. We chose this branch of CVS to transfer our prescriptions. The transfer (from SavOn pharmacy), went perfectly. We were notified that our prescriptions were in. When we arrived, the pharmacy manager, Mike Neasham, spent a fair amount of time with us cleaning up old information in the CVS system and making sure all our contact info and preferences were up to date. he could not have been more helpful or generous with his time. We are impressed and have happily made this CVS pharmacy our own. read more

I recently visited this location for a Covid vaccine. It was a pleasant experience and I highly recommend this location. I found the store to be quite large, clean and well organized. I have had it with this pharmacy! I called last week to fill my medication, they say it was too early to Fill. I called Saturday and they can't have the medications until Wednesday...I explain to the person on the phone, I am out of meds today can't drive due to epilepsy. I rely on my medications as well as someone to drive me which makes it more difficult when I now have to get a ride to Oxnard, not to mention I am not released to return to work so this starts to add up in cost...I know that is not the techs fault, but I was explaining my situation because I need help with figuring this issue out so it doesn't happen every month...The tech then tells me I just need to speak with the pharmacist and they can order ahead because of these conditions. This is just crazy to me, as I spoke with the pharmacy manager Morgan B., in August, who never offered this as an option. so, like any person who relies on their meds to help control seizures I take the only option they offer me, get a ride to pick up my meds from the nearest CVS in Oxnard. But, with transferring my medication to Oxnard, so I get my epilepsy medication and don't have to miss doses I find out that I then have to see my doctor to get a new prescription in order to come back to the Ventura store... I got to the Oxnard CVS and was shocked at the difference in customer service that was offered! Not to mention, I went to pay for my medication when the tech asked if I used any coupons on my medicine and she and the pharmacist used the SAVINGS CARD which saved me $20 per month! I explained what this pharmacy had said, and that was that they had already run a discount and could not run another NOT TRUE! The pharmacist in Oxnard showed me her paperwork which gave the codes to put in which allows for the discount!! Going to the Oxnard store just shows me how lacking this store is. There is no excuse to be told your medications are ready, almost monthly, then to show up the following day and they haven't been filled...Or to fill out surveys almost every month and to receive an email from the pharmacy manager, and see no change...or to show up to pick up your meds and they can't be released because my meds are an epilepsy controlled substance and the pharmacist is at lunch, so I have to wait until his return.... I absolutely hate writing reviews like this and try to find positive things about places, but IT IS TIME TO STEP IT UP CVS 7850 TELEGRAPH RD. and Mr. Morgan B. On October 17, 2024, I was standing by the counter waiting to be helped and the guy with the long beard who works there walked around me several times while i waited to be helped by the counter and continued to ignore me the associate even stood behind me and made eye contact with me and still did not ask if i needed help or if I was even finding everything ok. Then went on to stand at the counter and still ignore me while he talked with another worker, it wasn't till another associate came over to help me that I was helped. Horrible service from that man. Worst pharmacy ever. I had oral surgery with an open hole in my gums. My dentist called in my script and they asked for 44 minutes more. I waited and nothing. I waited two days and now they dont t have my pain killers. Again worst pharmacy ever. They act like they don't want to give you drugs. They have a real problem helping people out. We have used this pharmacy for over 30 years (as far back as Longs). The current staff are top notch. Yes we have had a problem or two but the Pharmacists always work it out. It's difficult working with all the different insurance companies and the variety of Doctors. Unfortunately the pharmacists seem to be the final point of contact and get blamed for faulty upstream systems. Michael is indeed a great fellow to work with AND I appreciate all the staff at this pharmacy who help us maintain our health. read more

I'm not sure if this the place to post this but I thought it really needs to be said. This cvs has a pharmacist (Michael) that is top rate. I've been in quite a few times and he has helped me out each time with my silly questions and problems. (I've been gifted with job of taking care of my 85 year old mother) He has answered me each time with a smile on his face. And many times when I'm in line to pick up prescriptions he is there helping many of the older customers find products that are in different parts of the store and always with a smile on his face. Husband and I stopped here last night to try to find long-handled Q-tips. Employee greeted us quickly and we asked him for help finding what we needed. He stopped what he was doing (cleaning) and took us around the store personally to help us try to find Q-tips. In the end, they didn't have what we needed, but I very much appreciated the employees customer service! Store is on the smaller side, but clean and well lit. Isles were stocked and organized, except for the holiday section (shortly after Christmas) which was empty and at first made me wonder if the store was closing or was having problems. I would have given this visit 4 stars if I had found what I was looking for and not walked out empty handed. read more

A very good friend of mine was just released from a nursing home following major surgery. The nursing home had faxed through his voluminous prescriptions TWICE and the I-couldn't-care-less doofus ("Robert" according to his badge) at the Drop Off counter lied to my face and denied ever having received it - despite my having a "fax received OK" on the header of the prescription list from the nursing home. This same moron then used every excuse to say that what I had was not what they would accept anyway and didn't have the doctor's name and date on the form (until I showed him it did). I explained again and again (while listening to his sighing and watching his eye-rolling) that the nursing home had specifically asked that the pharmacy call them if there was any problem. After MUCH pressing, he finally sighed one last time and called them. After they finally answered, he picked up the phone and told me that they had just hung up on him... Mmmmmn, really "Robert"? Or did you just hang up on them because it might have meant you doing some actual work for a customer? Honestly, if you are in need of ANY pharmaceutical help, please save your time and energy and stay away from this place. This one guy, at least, is in serious need of some customer service training. read more

We've had the worst experiences at this CVS Pharmacy. Once they didn't mix my daughter's medicine, and I had to return to the pharmacy for them to properly mix the medicine (it was supposed to be a liquid, and it was a bottle of powder). Today, I needed a prescription filled because my son was sick. I went to straight to the pharmacy counter after the doctor's appointment because in the past they've waited until I was there to fill a prescription. I was told it would be 10-15 minutes because they were "working on it." I waited 10-15 minutes and went back to the counter. It turned out they did *not* have the prescription after all, so it doesn't seem like they were working on it. I was moved out of line to talk to the pharmacist, and he called another CVS to confirm it had the medicine I needed, and I had to go to another CVS. Also, this pharmacy does not have a changing station in the bathroom, which is incredibly frustrating. read more

I spent my entire day in the ER due to heavily bleeding while urinating with intense pain. I was discharged well after 5pm with a perscription for antibiotics to be started immediately for a severe bladder infection. By the time I walked into this CVS and up to the pharmacy counter it was 6:02pm. I was told I would not be helped and it was suggested to try to transfer my perscription. No other pharmacies were open either so this was not helpful. I did not have my perscription# either, which they did take the time to look up for me instead of simply handing over the medication I was there for. I explained my situation and was again told I would not be provided the medication I need to prevent my severe infection from spreading to my other organs. I'll just have to wait until they open the next day at 10:00am and continue to suffer until then, possibly irreparably and cauing more damage in the meanwhile. If I was simply handed my perscription I would be actively healing right now instead of feeling like the staff of this CVS pharmacy has no regard for my well-being or if their inaction may cause more pain for someone who is already in a lot of pain. I suggest you don't use this pharmacy or date anyone who works here. Red flags fly high with these guys who clearly could not care less about the medical needs of others. If this behavior is any reflection of CVS ethics in general, I suggest you permanently change your pharmacy... I know I will be doing so as soon as I get my medication tomorrow, if I don't die first. read more

Pharmacy service is the worst! They miscount my pills every single time without fail. So I requested that they please count them in front of me. They get an attitude about it when it's their mistake. One time I received 60 pills instead of 90, and the pharmacist didn't believe me. This week when the redhead guy sassed me back with a snippy comment, it was the last straw. Although I don't enjoy writing negative reviews about local businesses, CVS is not a local business and my experience was absolutely NOT acceptable. If it were possible to give less than 1 star for this location, I would. I recently ordered graduation invitations online to be picked up at this location. When I called to check on the order I was told they were changing the paper and the order would be ready in 20 minutes. Just to be safe I went an hour and a half later. When I got to the store the guy behind the counter couldn't find my invitations and called someone else. When the next gentleman came over he said there was an issue with the printer, and it was showing it was jammed. After waiting over half an hour (almost 45 minutes) my invitations still weren't ready. I was also told that they didn't have the paper/cardstock I ordered for my invitations. When I asked why I wasn't called and notified about the issue, the guy who I guess was a manager, told me very nonchalantly that he was sorry. After leaving the store, I was called and told our order was ready to be picked up. When we went back to pick up the invitations they were TERRIBLE! They had printed it on a different cardstock w/ beveled edges that ended up cutting off the black and leaving white around the edges of the invitations. Although they ended up discounting them we left very unhappy and ended up throwing them away when we got home. Foolishly, I ordered a 2nd order online the next day. Unfortunately, we were in a time crunch and I needed something the same day. Again, I called to check on our order. The gentleman I spoke with told me it showed they were printed but they weren't with the receipt. I gave him my number and asked him to call me once he found them. After not receiving a call, I called back 2 hours later to confirm they were ready for pick up. When I spoke with the person, I was told they weren't able to be printed. I was LIVID. Immediately, I asked to speak with a manager. Chelsie Bellomo, one of the store managers came to the phone and gave me probably the worse customer service I have EVER received from a manager. She told me that there were multiple stores down the street and that I could just go to them. She didn't offer a solution or give any explanation as to why hours after her associates knew they couldn't print my order I was never called. It was very clear that she really didn't care about customer service at all. She told me they didn't even have the paper I had requested and said I'd requested for my invitations. When I asked her about the customer service issue and let her know I would not be returning to her store, she very nonchalantly told me, "well, that's your choice." She was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! ZERO customer service or concern for her customers. When I called the store down the street on Ashwood I spoke w/ Christy and Jason who were AMAZING. Christy recommended that I call the customer service number and ask that they transfer the order to their store as they had the paper I requested. She also called me back to let me know they had received my order and were working on it immediately. Jason called me as soon as the order was ready and let me know I could pick up the order. When I went to the store Jason was VERY kind. He apologized for the service I had received and was very empathetic about our experience. When I let him know I wouldn't be returning to the other store invited me to come back to their store anytime. read more

I've had it with the 500 pound gorilla that is CVS. My husband went in today to pick up a prescription for me. I get it every month. Same medication, same insurance, same copay $10. Today, it was $34. Take it or leave it. Can't answer why the price jumped. My husband called me, and I assumed that the CVS representative would find out why the copay jumped and fix whatever the error was. Wrong assumption. I told him to just leave the prescription and I will transfer it to another pharmacy that might have a tiny bit more interest in customer service. Instead, the hubs got the primary pharmacist to look into it. They actually found and admitted to a CVS error that changed the price and fixed it. Is it really necessary to get the primary pharmacist involved? (Today it was). The pharmacists are way overworked at CVS as it is! I feel better about taking my prescriptions to Costco. Which is a hassle on many levels, but always cheaper. And I do think Costco has a better reputation for customer service. read more

No good! Mike the Pharmacy Mgr and Pharmacist explained that his staff are not doing a good job watching what Rx are getting Child Proof Caps. Nearly all of my bottles get those caps and due to bad hands and wrists I am unable to open them!!! Then the other day I walked in a script and Mike was only one filling Rx's when I picked up I checked bottle and it was HIM who had put on that difficult child proof cap this time. UGH!!! I caught it before I left the counter. C'mon! ... Ok for more issues; CVS phones or text that your Rx's are ready. You make plans to get there, you drive there, you wait in a 10-20 minute line (painful with back issues) once at the counter you are informed that only ONE is ready, they've had to order the other and the one you really really needed the refill ran out and they are waiting to hear back from the Dr. Excuse me? read more

Very disappointed in the service I have received at the pharmacy. Dropped off a prescription yesterday, person said it would be ready in fifteen minutes. I told him I would pick up the following day. I am driving by the next day so stop in to pick up the prescription. I am told "they are still working on it. Do you want to wait?". I tell the guy I dropped it off yesterday, why are they still working on it? He says, I don't know. Do you want to wait. I tell him no and leave. Eddy was very rude. I asked if I could have a discount because the detergent I wanted was the last one and had detergent spilled out from the cap all over the top and front of bottle (as I carried it, it got on the front of my shirt) and the cap was loose. I said I wasn't sure how much spilled out but that it was the last one and asked if I would be able to get a discount. He looked at me and smirked and said "that's very little spill, NO". Okay well thats fine, did not need to be told how much spill he thought it was I could see it was a question mark how much spilled out which is why I asked nicely. An "I'm sorry I don't think we can do that" would have been fine. I still needed to purchase it. I was just very surprised with the way I was treated by this guy and his tone was unnecessary. Luckily Nate was my actual cashier and was KIND enough to check the back for me to see if there was another since it was a question how much had actual spilled out and whether the lid was safe, it was obviously turned off thread and not working properly. Unfortunately it was the very last one that I got. I don't think Eddy realizes how bad customer service and a not very nice tone can turn someone's experience in the store from convenient to uncomfortable pretty quickly. CVS hands out coupons but then provides all sorts of exceptions why you can't use them. Yesterday I got a 25% discount coupon for a single purchase. Today I went back to use it but guess what? Ordered an 8x10 here and it took nearly a day to get it processes and back. Love that they use Kodak paper but a day.... For a picture is a bit much. The store is bigger than most CVS's and decently clean. God save you if you have to wait in the mile long pharmacy line though! read more
