Love this place. It is local and the service staff is wonderful. They remember you and greet you when you come in. Helpful when you need it.

Conveniently located for those that live close to the boardwalk. The shop is small with a small selection but the staff is friendly. As someone who uses a disabled scooter, all the floor displays make it near impossible to navigate most of the aisles, but it's doable and the staff are always willing to lend a hand. read more

Hooray for Long's Drugs. Here at last is a business that caters to Venetians instead of tourists. Seniors, the disabled and others who live nearl Rose and Pacific and don't have access to a car will cheer this Drug Store. In the past - since Val's Pharmacy went away - residents have had to find a way, often a taxi or imposing on a neighbor, to get to Lincoln Blvd. to pickup their prescriptions at SavOn or RiteAid. It's sometimes overlooked that there are thousands of people who came to Venice in the 50s (Beats), and 60s (Hippies) who need neighborhhood stories. The problem still remains as to how a frail person gets several bags of groceries back to the beach from Ralphs, etc., but at least we now have a drug store, in place of a Koo Koo Roo! Longs should get a medal for recognizing this problem - and making money, too. read more

Come here only if you're desperate. It's about 1/8 the size of a normal CVS and the prices are steeper. It's clearly designed to take advantage of the tourists that flock to the area who don't know any better. The only reason I come here is that it's the closest prescription pharmacy to my home. read more

I get my scripts filled here. They send you text messages when you are low and let's you know when they are ready to be picked up. The only down side is that parking can be difficult depending on the time of day you go. I usually, try to go right before the pharmacy closes at 9pm. read more

This has to be the worst drugstore I've ever been to. Every time I walk in I plan to get a thing or two and be out in a few minutes and I come stumbling out bleary-eyed half an hour later cursing myself for going here again because it's around the corner. Rarely do I actually end up with what I came for. The store is small so it should be simple to find stuff, but none of the employees seem to know where anything is or they'll say "yeah, it'll be around there, if we have it," which they never do. Save yourself the trouble and go to the bigger CVS on Rose & Lincoln, or better yet Walgreens or Rite Aid, also on Lincoln. read more

If I could put -5 stars I would. This is the absolutely worst pharmacy in Venice area. There is no customer service at the pharmacy and very little knowledge of medications. Stop at CVS if you're on vacay and short on necessities: sunblock, aloe, mini shampoo, toothbrush, etc. But you'll have to overlook the somewhat-uneasy staff. The walkways are tight and forced us to bump into fellow shoppers. The racks are stripped bare of certain products and already cramped aisles have bins stacked shoulder-high of new merchandise that hasnt been stocked. Ill only come back for emergencies. read more

This is the CVS with the ballerina on the front. All the CVS' here have Chase ATM's, I guess because there aren't any Walgreens. You won't be able to get change here either, they claim you need to make a purchase in order for them to even open the cash register. read more

Staff is never at the counter (I get it, small set-up) but there's no bell, nothing to notify them you're waiting. You walk right past them to the counter, hoping there's someone else up there, but yet no movement. The Pharmacy is even worse (and I wouldn't be surprised if they've gotten violations before). My pharmascist tried to give me something other than what my doctor prescribed because of price, gave me the wrong pill at first (scary right?) and was just generally a mess because it was just her behind the counter! (hint: staff more people). Overall I just think for the size of the space that they could've done a much better job with a little effort. I will NEVER visit the pharmacy here again, I am actually a little mentally scared by that experience. read more

I went in to this CVS, to get a water and a snack but I had to use the restroom really badly. I walked in and asked the cashier where the bathroom was and he told me there wasn't one. I walked towards the back to get a drink and I noticed the bathroom. So a little frustrated, I walk back to the cashier and politely asked him for the bathroom code. He then got rude, and told me he already told me no, and asked if I had a f%@+ing problem. I had to get the manager and explain myself just to use the restroom... Ridiculous. read more

I just went to this CVS and the gentleman working the counter and the lady helping him both had terrible customer service. Lady is a heavy set girl with dark hair and was wearing lipstick, she was no help at all. The gentleman working had no clue how to work the lotto machine despite me telling him exactly what to do since I've worked at a store before. The girl came over and said "it doesn't work" didn't once smile, wasn't polite, had no customer service. So of course, I didn't get my tickets; which is perfectly fine, I went to another store. But those two employees are terrible. I get most of these jobs are shitty, but they're a damn stepping stone for all of those employees. They need better training or find a better job. read more

Consistent with my experience at other CVS locations (this used to be a Long's but became CVS earlier this year), this has perhaps the worst pharmacy customer service in Los Angeles. My physician phoned in a new prescription to the pharmacist. Separately, I phoned in a refill on an existing one. After a three day wait - thinking that would be ample time to fill two simple prescriptions - I wandered in to collect my goodies. The new prescription was lost and they had no record of it, and the refill was done but the pharmacist was on the phone and she was the only one who was allowed ring me up. I was asked to come back later as she was on an extended call. So I left empty-handed and will have to go back another time. What I don't get is how this experience has been replicated at every single CVS location I've visited. Lost prescriptions, understaffed pharmacies and long waits. Pharmacy has the worst staff ever. The new manager is especially awful. Rude, unhelpful and will tell boldface lies if he doesn't feel like helping you. They never give the correct estimate for when your medications will be ready and send harassing texts and phone calls multiple times a day when you haven't picked them up as soon as they are ready. My wife and I have used this Pharmacy for over 2 years. Always great service apart from one experience that was not good by a new employee (pharmacist) who had a difficult time with the language. Just a few weeks ago I went early to fill a prescription and an old lady was in front of me who was having a hard time finding her ID. Sheila was very supportive and kind and acknowledged my presence by saying she would be with me in a minute and went back to helping the old lady. I was very impressed with her kindness and the fact that she even went out of her way to tell the lady she would call the hospital and get the correct information. Sheila is always effecient and helpful and has a smile on her face and goes the extra mile for all customers. The main reason I pick this pharmacy is because of Sheila. read more

The pharmacy here is WAY better than Mindanao. Tiny store but despite the long wait, they at least were willing and able to help me fill my Rx when the Mindanao store messed it up. I really wish i could give negative ratings! Wasn't satisfied at all with the service I received here. Both reps I spoke with were rude and unprofessional. I use to work for Happy Harry's on the east coast and we'd never treat or customers in such a way. I almost felt more like a criminal rather than a customer. I came in to pick up a few things I wound up deciding not to get due to the customer service here. I had been coming from walking on the beach a little ways but simply needed to use the bathroom first because I'd been holding it for some time. I first asked the Asian lady at the pharmacy who did greet me after noticing me standing there if it was okay for me to use it, she told me that the bathroom is only for paying customers and when I was about to tell her I'm picking up some things she rudely interrupted me and told me to talk to the front desk for access. I then go and speak with this black guy with an ungroomed fro and stach who nonchalantly lies to my face and says the bathroom is out of order. First of all, there is no out of order sign on the bathroom and second of all I seen a white customer leave out of the bathroom before I decided to use it. I do believe it's possible to be radially profiled by your own people to, it's sad but it happens. Needless to say I decided to go all the way back home to rite aide to make my purchase there. I wouldn't recommend this CVS to anyone if they treat you like this at this store. The general manager, and management team need to seriously consider their customer complaints and make action happen. They were unsincere, disrespectful, and lacked professionalism across the board. I know because I've worked in customer service for over 18 years and because I'm a young black man with 2 master degrees, I'd say don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover. read more

My prescription is never ready on time. If you call, be prepared to sit on hold for 25 minutes every time.

This pharmacy is terrible. Helen, the Asian pharmacist, is often there by herself. She is rude and curt. She told me that she couldn't fill my flu medicine and then hung up on me. I had it filled at another CVS. When I went back weeks later, she asked me if I wanted my flu medicine. I told her that was weeks ago! She filled it anyway and never called to tell me. Unbelievable! I was amazed how rude and horrible she was to me when I was so sick and could barely talk. She clearly doesn't care about the customer. The pharmacy has a lot of Venice homeless looking for a fix as well. Kinda a scary place. I started ordering everything online. Don't go here! read more

I used to go to this CVS pretty often since it was right across the street from my old apartment and was always disappointed. The customer service at checkout and at the pharmacy are terrible and they never seemed to have normal household items. Sheila has gone above and beyond to meet my needs and has taken a "personal interest" in me as a client. Her knowledge of my history lets her instantly answer any questions, and I'm not kept waiting. This has to be a tough to work at this CVS. It's in the middle of Venice, near the beach/boardwalk, and open late. The staff here are all friendly and helpful, and should definitely be recognized for that. Sumin Lee works at the pharmacy and goes above and beyond the already stellar staff of the store and pharmacy. She's friendly, knowledgeable, patient (infinitely patient), focuses on each customer in turn, and greets everyone with a smile. Thanks for my flu shot, Sumin! read more

At the CVS on Rose in Venice I was assaulted by a store manager named Jay N., he ripped a receipt in half and out of my hand and threatened not to give me the merchandise I had just purchased and then he bullied me out of the store-- all this because he said "don't blame me because the strip on your credit card is worn", I said "I don't blame you but I'm sure you can find a way to make it work even if it means entering it manually". The card went through after another couple tries and he raised his voice at me again saying, "Don't blame me". Again I explained that no one was being blamed but that there are other ways to make it work. That's when he went berserk and tore the receipt out of my hand saying he has the right to refuse service to me if he wants. He acted like he wasn't going to give me what I purchased and then he pushed and bullied me out of the store threatening to call the police. I told him not to put his hands on me again and he tried to provoke me to hit him saying "you're not man enough". I'm not even sure why he was acting so crazy toward me especially considering the transaction already went through, all because I told him I expect there is a way to make it work??!! read more

The worst experience ever! The Pharmacy Dept ignored me for 5-10 minutes while I stood at the counter dry heaving with no one else in line. They saw me and yet would not acknowledge my presence while they decided to discuss stocking the shelves. I asked to be helped and they brushed me off until I insisted they help me. When I asked for the over the counter medication that has now been placed behind the counter she refused to sell me the brand and specific type I asked for, instead she gave me two options that she would sell to me. Unfortunately she did not listen to me when I explained that I could not take anything other than the specified medication due to an allergy to pseudo ephedrine. In my migraine haze I took the medication and had an adverse reaction making everything a thousand times worse because the jackass behind the counter would not listen to me. Do not use this Pharmacy if you want someone to help you or care about helping you. They are horrible! This is not my first terrible experience but it will be my last. Everyone in the Pharmacy Dept should be fired! read more
