This CVS in Venice is perfectly fine. It is in a larger strip mall and you will find parking with ease. The area is not the best, so lock your car and no you don't want to give money to someone who I promise you will use it to buy drugs and no you don't want to buy a bike, it is stolen. Park as close as you can to CVS and you will be fine. The lines tend to be long and the area is not very large so you can end up feeling cramped. But, the service is very nice and they will help you find a drug that maybe they don't have. Wear your mask or you wont be allowed in. read more

There is one girl that is great but everyone is unpleasant rude. I get they have to go to lunch but out that into their hours, so I don't have to fight for parking to be told to wait 30 minutes. I get to them is is only 30 minutes but it is frustrating, Especially when you get there at 1:29 and told they are closed for only 30 minutes. I get it but if they said, sorry but we close for 30 minutes. But no sorry and just sound extremely annoyed with me that I have audacity to even stand in line. So you are going to get the same energy from me as you are giving. So I am going to move all my meds to a different location because I hate the attitude and rudeness. They do realize that they are servicing people that are sick and may need their meds to be better and that type of attitude is unwarranted. Due to an injury, I needed a prescription medication delivered that was only available at this CVS in Venice. Both my doctor and I spent hours trying to reach the pharmacy by phone over last night and this morning. After being left on hold for a very long time, someone finally answered and then immediately hung up. Since then, despite repeated calls, nobody has picked up. I've never experienced this level of poor communication at another CVS and was honestly shocked. I would strongly recommend avoiding having prescriptions sent to this location. read more

Today, I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with Lauren, who incorrectly cancelled my prescription. I've been a customer at this pharmacy for 1.5 years, but after this incident, I'll be transferring all of my medications elsewhere. On Monday, my doctor sent in a new prescription electronically. Later that day, I stopped by the pharmacy to pick up a different medication and asked about the new one. They told me they hadn't received it. I showed them that it had been sent electronically (how do you lose an e-prescription?), and they said my doctor would need to resend it. I was polite and understanding, even though it was inconvenient, and I called my doctor, waiting on hold for quite a while, so they could resend it. A couple of days passed with no update. Concerned since it was now Thursday, I called the pharmacy. I spoke to a very helpful employee who said it was good that I called. Sometimes prescriptions get backlogged. He told me they'd been waiting for insurance authorization, but now it was approved and in process, though currently out of stock. He said it should be ready for pickup the next day. All good. An hour later, I got a text from CVS saying the prescription was "not eligible for renewal," which made no sense since it was a new prescription. Concerned, I called again. This time I reached Lauren. From the start, she was dismissive and rude. She kept me on the line without explanation, then abruptly asked why I was calling. I began to explain the situation, but she repeatedly interrupted me. When I told her I was just confirming that the prescription would be ready the next day, she again cut me off and said they didn't have it. I explained I understood and just wanted to verify timing. She then told me the only way to check if it was ready was to cancel and resubmit it - something that would delay it until next week. I repeatedly (at least ten times) asked her not to do that, explaining that I had already been waiting all week. Despite this, she cancelled it anyway. When I objected, she refused to transfer me to anyone else and continued to be rude and condescending. She eventually said I could "just fill it somewhere else." A coworker later joined the call but offered no apology or accountability for what had happened. In summary, this pharmacy: Lost my original prescription Delayed filling it even after it was resent Had an employee (Lauren) speak rudely and unprofessionally Cancelled my prescription against my clear request, further delaying it This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. There was no apology, no accountability, and no effort to fix their mistakes. I will never return to this location and strongly recommend others avoid it. read more

The pharmacy managers at this location are consistently unpleasant. The manager/pharmacist with the curly hair and glasses speaks with a condescending tone and is visibly inconvenienced by having to engage with customers. She displays a smugness that suggests that she gets satisfaction from being rude and frustrating to customers. I saw another pharmacy manager shoo a customer away (with a dismissive facial expression and hand motion) who came up to the pharmacy desk after they closed, rather than politely tell the customer it was beyond pharmacy hours. The store itself is sparsely stocked, dirty, and the self checkout is often out of order. I live in the area but drive to the location on 25th and SM, where the pharmacy staff is not hostile and the shelves are stocked. Unfortunately, my doctor accidentally sent my prescription to this location. After waiting in line for 35+ minutes to pick up a prescription, I got the displeasure of having an interaction with the pharmacy that confirmed that the service here continues to be terrible. read more

This is the absolute worst CVS pharmacy and the only pharmacy in Venice,CA 90291. The pharmacy's employees are impatient, and extremely rude. They appeared overworked and get away with treating one dismissively. Their inventory is limited and their display and layout of the store is sloppy, and much of the merchandise is sub par and expensive. There was only one manager at the front of the store who was helpful and had a relaxed demeanor. Headquarters should conduct a few meetings to improve their customer service, and they should also get better merchandise; they're miles behind Amazon which I don't like buying from and would like to support local businesses, but shopping here and filling your prescriptions is torture!! I've been coming here a lot recently as my parents are staying close by. Today I went in and waited 5-10 mins before anyone helped me at the front. I needed nicotine lozenges from behind the desk, but the gentleman grabbed and then directed me to self pay. Then he got short with me cause he told me wrong info on filling it out. Then I thought I was done but the payment didn't go through so this guy starts yelling. I wish he would have just gone behind the register like normal. RUDE & INCOMPETENT! My wife came home from the Emergency room with a prescription for antibiotics that had to be filled. The hospital sent the prescription to her normal pharmacy on Palms and Sepulvida. They did not have it in stock, but this CVS did so the one on Palms and Sepulvida transferred the prescription. Instead of filling the prescription this pharmacy cancelled it, so it could not be filled anywhere. My wife called her primary care physician to see if he could straighten it out. His office called back saying the pharmacist was rude and hung up on them. My wife has to have the medication and instead of filling it these incompetent Bozos ensured she can not get it filled anywhere. read more

If you find an employee who speaks clearly and loudly and actually reads the packages s/he is giving you, make sure you are getting what was prescribed--no more and no less. I have gotten different prices on the same item from different employees, on different days; I have been told by the pharmacist to return the next day and when I did the meds were not there; I was told that they would call me when a pick up was ready and they do not call; I have been told by a pharmacist that a drug is ready for pick up and the woman at the register says it was not (it was); and some drugs are cheaper by prescription and they steer you to OTC which is usually much more expensive for the same item. Go online for a GoodRx coupon, which is usually much cheaper than their regular price. And usually they do not answer their phones. read more

A pharmacist named Helen gave me my shingles vaccine today and she deserves ALL the good reviews! It was a Sunday and the pharmacy clearly had their hands very full and seemed to be working with a less than optimal computer and phone situation. HELEN was upbeat, patient and kind with EVERYONE she helped in person and on the phone. Not once did she show any sign of overwhelm or stress, just kept her composure and was a ray of sunshine. This is a really lousy pharmacy. Their systems were broken this am so we couldn't fill a prescription. The other week we had a different need and their system had wiped our history somehow. I don't know if it's a CVS thing or not but this is our local CVS and they never have what we need, whether it's a prescription or basic supplies (they're often understocked). If there is a -10 stars, I would click that. I spoke to this pharmacist as I advocated for my hospice patient. I clearly informed her that we have signed consents to represent my patient clinically and medically and instead she had given me the run-around and expected me to contact the hospitalist who originally prescribed the medication to my patient. I had clearly mentioned to her that my patient has requested that NO CALLS from CVS were to be made to him moving forward as we as his hospice provider are taking over his medical care. (I have called a few days ago to the same pharmacy and informed this young man I spoke with to cease ALL calls from CVS and yet another call was made again today! Obviously these people at the pharmacy has poor communication within their department!) Her excuse for not being accommodating "It's State Regulations!" and basically just hung up on me while I am in fact still speaking. Wow! The arrogance! CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Venice, California

The pharmacist did not ever do a consultation at either the initial prescription time or the refill though I had never had this or any other prescription, as the history shows, and the item caused severe damage. It is known apparently among lay people who actually are familiar with it that one needs extremely specific and careful instructions for this item. Then the other pharmacist (in none of these instances did the senior pharmacist happen to be there) encouraged a rude, impatient woman to stand behind the tape in the Consultation line behind me after I had waited for him to return from lunch, though she had no consultation to do. She stood there yelling at me about her family's medical situation and yelling for the entire store to hear about how she did not desire to wait. She also eavesdropped on my medical situation and yelled about her family's medical situation was more important than mine though mine was actually urgent. The pharmacist rewarded her by filling her prescription as he agreed I should have been given a consultation though none had been offered earlier or indicated as needed. Then the man in line behind the rude woman, seeing how her rudeness worked, also cut to be rung up as I still stood there so that everyone now could hear my medical situation. Then the young woman at the front counter, on another visit, sent me to a store that did not even exist that she insisted was just walking distance further south on Lincoln in Venice, just south of Rose. She said that store had the item I was searching for and this store did not. No matter how long I waited and how many times I asked her to please call the other store that I had just there heard about from her, also on Lincoln, to ask for accurate cross streets, and to check about this on the computer, she insisted that was where it is. I said I had never once heard of another CVS there though had heard about another CVS on Lincoln still in Santa Monica farther NORTH of this store. She insisted that was not the store I should go to. I even told her that I had walked there so did not have my car and had to be up very early the next morning. She insisted that it was very nearby just south of Rose. I walked around in circles, and the entire wasted trip took hours, only to listen to some nice employees at a fast food restaurant at the address she said this CVS was at tell me there had never been a CVS there that they were aware of. I walked back to this store. When I asked about how this had happened, the young woman rolled her eyes right at my face, since she clearly still could not be bothered and did not care. I just moved here from Washington DC and was looking at local pharmacies for my prescriptions. CVS is a common brand I've used in the past and so I tried this location. Through multiple interactions it is apparent that this pharmacy is severely understaffed and that fact impacts their service. My interactions are always challenging with stressed pharmacists who can't spend time to discuss my medications, and communication on hold ups are nonexistent. For example I've had a few instances where my script was on backorder and I wasn't able to pick up for 2 weeks with no communication until I called to check in. I will be moving to the rite aid across the street that is appropriately staffed. I hope cvs hires more pharmacists for this location from looking at reviews it seems to be a common issue. read more

The WORST WORST pharmacy in all of the United States.You call them and you wait 1 hour or more for someone to pick up or they hang up. You go to pick up a prescription and the line is endless with only 1 person on duty. I used to go to rite-aid and never had a problem but unfortunately my Insurance Company made some deal with CVS and I can only go there (it's like living in the Republic of Venice Ca) so I am stuck with an incompetent and understaffed place of business. Some Old Indian guy with broken English gave it 2 hours. 5 hours later they still haven't started & closed at 8pm.... i dropped by to pick up some over the counter pills for someone else. i went to ask about the script & He tried to get it transferred. this place is a dump, seriously. I'd say the last 3 out of 5 times i've gone here, some alarm has been going off in the back. Not a mellow alarm, no no no - that ear piercing, like...atomik bomb warning alarm. Finally you get an employee who wakes up from their stoned nap, and turns it off - only to have it go off again 2 minutes later. Ha! Most ailes have some sort of stack of boxes, waiting to be unpacked, and they have Arizona Ice Teas stacked next to Tissue and Beach umbrellas. The long-haired guy who helped me with passport photos, he's nice, hence the "second star" on my rating. I was told to wait 15 minutes while they prepared my prescription, an hour later it was ready. The price I paid was also 20$ more expensive than what they had said at drop off. My family and I moved to Santa Monica a year ago and I chose this as our new pharmacy. Big mistake. After a year I think I have given them more than enough chances. Every single month that I fill my family's 3 medications it has been a nightmare. Usually they are out of it and I'd have to wait until the next shipment to come in. Oh great, it's only AFTER my second bad experience at the pharmacy that I'm seeing all these negative reviews. I second what everyone is saying, so if for some reason you were brilliantly random and brought yourself to actually investigate the yelp for a CVS, then consider yourself warned and take your prescriptions elsewhere. This place is close by and next to Whole Foods so whenever I went for drugstore items I considered it fine. Little did I know. First time filling prescription: the line to drop off and the line to pick up are practically seeping into the aisles. The lady behind the counter was really swamped and frantic. Then there was another one who was too cool for school. Second time: I thought I was so smart calling in my order (which you can do with the RX number on your medicine info), even got to choose my own time to come in. The line was backed into an aisle and I felt so bad seeing that many sick and elderly people waiting and getting their orders confused. Almost every person in line was told there was some problem when they went to pick up. We all got different and annoying excuses. I had 3 people aid me only to somehow walk out AN HOUR LATER WITHOUT one of my medications. They should have free samples of valium by the exit because you might need it after that line and subsequent BS. There's a CVS much bigger in Marina Del Rey and a Walgreens on Lincoln & Washington.
