I recommend not filling your prescriptions here-- I've had way too many separate mishaps with the pharmacy: entering the number of refills incorrectly from a printed scrip; not applying the secondary insurance information correctly, requiring me to shuttle between pharmacy windows three times; and filling the wrong amount of medication (shorted me 80 pills out of 180 but charged me for the full amount). Store employees were fine; limited inventory and quite a bit locked down due to a history of shoplifting problems. Parking can be competitive in the nearby lot; even before the Purple Line construction along Wayne, the church and Whole Foods could turn it into a road rage experience. read more

Not sure if my previous review was somehow moved from East West to Wayne but this one has always been a good one. Quite busy and they lock up some products which makes it a bit unwelcome but service is usually quick, efficient, and friendly making it our go to CVS. read more

I have not had any negative experiences here, other than the couple of mishaps a year that are just likely to happen. The pharmacy has done a good job of rearranging their prescription pickup area so that it accommodates the traffic at the window and the flow around the area. Given the volume of business they handle, their work is truly good. Obviously, it would be great to have more staff in hand, but the line always moves quickly and short-staffed places are now the norm everywhere.... I'll start by saying I stopped going in CVS stores a few years ago for bad customers service, but today my allergies didn't care where I went to get my meds. It's crazy that we've gotten to a place that nobody wants to help a costumer. I go to ask for help getting allergy meds that are behind the counter and everyone acts like they don't understand what I need, they kept telling me to use self checkout. How can I get the allergy at self check out. I only speak English but nobody in the store seemed to speak or understand English. This is why so many stores are failing. The pharmacists here are unfriendly and slow. They care more about their lunch break than helping people. They wouldn't complete my prescription because they had to break for lunch - even though I had been in line for a long time (see above re how slow they are) and waited patiently. I told them the last thing I needed was the pain meds for my young daughter who had just had surgery that morning. All they had to do was ring it up. But nope, lunch for all 4 of them came first. Pharmacy is awful!! None of the people working there move with urgency. I was the second person in line and waited 15 mins for them to tell me I needed a physical ID to buy generic Sudafed. Their old computers had to be rebooted a couple times while I was in line and they can't type your id number in them. Do better. read more

This store has to close and a real pharmacy opened for the good of the community. The shelves are bare of basic health related products. CVS seems to think that the pandemic is over or at least they can make some money now by suspending free delivery. I accepted this socially irresponsible decision which I find despicable. So I contacted caremark to get mail delivery and I found out it consists of 4 separate pharmacies that do not exchange any information,, including prescriptions: the specialty pharmacy the mail order specialty pharmacy the ordinary pharmacy the ordinary mail order pharmacy So each doctor must reissue all prescriptions for each pharmacy. They also told me my essential medicine prescription was too expensive and that I needed to get my neurologist to prescribe something else. CVS you are profitable and you put many pharmacies out of business when you moved into my area. You have a virtual monopoly, except for Walgreens. I am constantly amazed by all the ways you increase stress. By not answering the phone. By incompetence in every technological area. None of this is good for patients. Okay, so this is the best pharmacy around. The pharmacist and the pharmacy staff is beyond capable and helpful. They have gone out of their way to help me so many times, I've lost track. Today, the pharmacy assistant saw that I was going to have to pay a large amount for a prescription that is only available in name brand. When she saw there was a manufactures savings program available, she enrolled me on the spot. This saved me $140! read more

The Pharmacy looked in order and staff were properly covered. However I did not have business with this counter. I came to this location via UPS texting over a 72 hour period letting me know I had a package to be picked up. This was my 3rd trip in 3 days. Grrrrrr... Please choose a different drop off spot for deliveries whenever possible with UPS / AMAZON, this is not about the chain itself. This store needs organizational update and is dusty so maybe they are hiring?! It's close/ walking to Metro and parking can be free for at least half and hour. Food and shopping galore.... Entertainment every where. Just leave the drop off packaging to anyone else as these folks specialize is drugs anyway! read more

I made an appointment in advance for two vaccines (RSV and COVID). When I arrived, I was told that the COVID vaccine had not arrived. The very nice pharmacist said I should have received a notification but I have checked everywhere, including junk mail and filtered exts have found nothing. The staff behind the counter were working their tails off and maintained a very kind and helpful demeanor, but they do not have effective support from the parent company. Their data devices are very old, slow and difficult to use. The software appears equally ancient. I was told their hours have now been cut, even though the fall surge for vaccines has only just begun. The store is filthy. This is not the fault of the staff. It's the company that is failing. This pharmacy is so unreal in it's unprofessionalism. I donteven have a choice because of my insurance so I have to use this awful company anyway. But I switch to this location hoping it would be better. AVOID THE PHARMACY AT ALL COSTS. The rest of the store and workers are fine, just a standard CVS in that regard. I did a disposable camera photo here and after months of looking for a resolution- it was determined my photos were just lost. I had worked with the store team and called CVS Customer Service, but they were not helpful and deferred to the store. The store deferred to customer service- it was a run around and I am really disappointed in CVS' handling of this. Do not use CVS for this! This CVS is fairly new. It's in the cluster of shops where Whole Foods is, so that means parking can be a bear. That's why I always park in the Wayne Ave lot and walk over after I do my other shopping and happy hour activities on Ellsworth Drive. Excellent Pharmacist !!!! She will do everything to help you find an item, order a medication, and also understand ingredients in a medication (over the court or otherwise). Obviously since this a brand new CVS, it is pretty neat & clean...however I am pretty disappointed for a couple of reasons. First, is expensive. Products that I would normally get elsewhere was quite a bit more here. While I was here I also over heard others talking about the same thing. The second thing is that they close too early. I would expect them to stay open until midnight at least being that they are in DT Silver Spring, but they close at 10:00pm. CVS... You're starting off on the wrong foot!!! read more

I've had so many bad experiences with the staff and pharmacy I can only conclude that many of the people who work here are plain incompetent. It always takes unnecessarily long to fill a prescription, and pharmacists always seem confused about very routine/clerical work. I've had to wait for over 30 minutes one time to pick up a prescription simply because a pharmacist didn't notify me that it was ready (in person - I was waiting there - or by text). Also, I tried to fill a prescription over the phone today and I called 5 times and collectively had to be put on hold for close to an hour just to get the job done. Please guys, you do this everyday. It should not be so difficult to do your job. Update: I finally went to CVS the evening I wrote this review to pick up my prescription. When I got there, the pharmacist told me they were out. This location is directly across the street from Whole Foods. The inventory isn't the same as all CVS stores. It is stocked for the downtown location. You may not find many swimming supplies but you can grab a snack and scan your CVS card for coupons. read more

I never thought I'd be writing a review for a CVS. I would have thought "what's the point? They're all alike and all the same so you know what to expect from one to the other But this store changed my mind. I have tried to make purchases in this store about twice a month since they opened last year and I've had a bad experience each time. They do not have cashiers manning the check-out lines on a regular basis---no, I'm not kidding, routinely, they have no cashiers working. And so you're supposed to use "self check-out" except the machines for self-check out are often broken or not functioning. And the attendant that is supposed to help you, seems unable to solve the problems and then has to check you out himself---so he becomes the cashier even though he's working at the self-check out counter. The first couple of times I thought this was just a problem of them having just opened and not being up to speed yet. But this is still the case months later. I was really looking forward to having a convenient CVS in the neighborhood, but this one is not it. read more

Completing my errand run today, I stepped into this CVS for some floss, having totally lost mine in my move. The pros of this store are immediately apparent and are that it is large, clean, well-socked, and well-organized. They also had Mac and Cheese on sale which made me way more excited than it should have. The con for me is that, as others have mentioned, there appears to be only self-check-out and one of the machine was broken. However, for me the line moved quickly. This is a very serviceable CVS and I suspect will be my default CVS for some time to come. read more

Way to ruin 15 minutes of my life. I went to pick up a prescription today and the chick tells me "we don't have it." after calling my dr's office trying to figure out why it had not been called in. Long story short, the actual pharmacist looks ONE TIME in the computer and she say's "its right here. we have it!" The response of the other woman "u didnt give me that name." its MY name. I mean, REALLY!? I"ve been carrying it around for almost 30 years, I beLIEVE I Know my OWN name! I guess it was just TOO much for her to say, "I made a mistake. My apologies." smh @ some people. Now I can NEVER go back because I don't trust them w/giving me the right drugs. I mean, after all, they couldn't even get my name right after I spoonfed it to them. This cvs is located centrally to DTSS which makes everything convenient. It's little smaller and closes at 10pm, but it has everything that you need from baby water to snack. Typically they don't have registers open because they utilize their self checkout more. read more
