(1-23-2020) I went to CVS Pharmacy today for a flu shot. I was in & out of there in under 10 minutes! The staff was professional & courteous, unlike tHe employees across the street at Walgreens Pharmacy, who were all pissed off and disgruntled! I had gone to Walgreens first, but after waiting 35 minutes & then being told they didn't know how much longer I had to wait for the flu shot, I found that unacceptable & went across the street to CVS, I'm so glad I did, not only was I in & out of there in under 10 minutes, I also saved $10 for the shot! The flu shot costs $40 at Walgreens, but only $30.15 at CVS! And the Pharmacist at CVS was so nice & professional, compared to the disgruntled pharmacist at Walgreens! CVS is now my place to go! I'm never gonna patronize Walgreens ever again!! read more

Generally speaking, I am a fan of this location. There are a few sour apples here (rude cranky customer service from a few of the ladies), but the men that work here make up for this place! In fact, the guys who work here (e.g. Adam-guy that also works in photo processing and others) provide exceptional, friendly service and I hope his manager knows that too! Beauty: This location has a sizable amount of beauty products including "Try Me" items that are often free after rebate. It carries more beauty items than some of the neighboring CVSs (e.g. East 14th Street and Hesperian). It also has brands such as Physician's Formula which are NOT carried at some of the smaller stores. Items are spread out along the walls and in a corner section of the store. Personal Care/Shaving/Body Wash: This store has a sizable travel section (larger than several neighboring stores in the vicinity) and this is awesome when there's a clearance in the travel section. The aisles are spacious for both sections. HOWEVER, it is difficult to find available stock for sale items unless you come Sunday morning and no later than Sunday afternoon. Healthcare/First Aid: Pretty wide selection. ++ points for having a 2nd CVS machine in the store especially when the front one is either out of order or someone that is VERY fast is spending their happy time on the coupon machine. Items are fairly neat on the shelf and I've seldom seem stock on the floors (then again I am not usually there when inventory comes in), but this store is quite neat compared to other stores. Grocery/Food: If you are looking for food and beverages, this is the store to come. They stock ample amounts of Honest Tea, Sweet Tea Leaf, and other brands that are NOT available at all the other neighboring stores. They have a huge adult beverage section adjacent to the photo area (hmm?). I love that the candy aisle is ample and there is a decent spice selection. Office Supplies: Lesson learned. I should have bought some of the sale/clearance office supplies here. Not only did they have a decent amount left, but their markdowns were about 25% more than neighboring stores. Very clean and tidy too! Seasonal: Since this a larger store, it carries the seasonal items. For instance, we just passed back to school and they carried bookcases, desks, and chairs. Not all the stores do. Now, they are carrying Halloween items and there is a decent selection of Summer Clearance items available at 75% off. I love the cooler I scored (Igloo too!) for under $4! Make sure you check back in the seasonal aisles because there are GREAT finds towards the end of each season. Parking: Tons of parking. While you are at Greenhouse, you can go to the .99 cents store, Safeway, and Chase Bank. Coupon Friendly? Generally speaking yes except for the few sour apples (see above). Availability of Stock? Since this is a popular location, they tend to run out of the HOT sale items early Sunday morning and up to around noontime. My advice is to either grab it late into the week after shipment comes in (say Friday or Saturday) or wake up early! read more

It's a drugstore. It has drugs, toiletries, prophylactics, candy, food, drinks, cleaning supplies, etc. Aisles are clearly labeled. I wasn't familiar with where things were, so it took me longer since I got confused because I didn't have my glasses, but the associate answered my two questions: Where is a brush?, and where is the non-toothbrush brush for hair? (Note to self: be more specific when asking for a brush in a drugstore) . Entering the store, it was apparent the entrance was also the exit, as patrons were leaving the store. The carpet is worn, but what you might expect of a well-frequented store. Surprisingly, the line wasn't long when I went in. When I was standing in line to purchase my items, a hair brush, gel, floss, hand sanitizer and some shaving stuff, the cashier was making friendly conversation with an older lady who was checking out her items. The associates were helpful and the cashier was efficient and courteous. I think they had two check-out stands but weren't that busy at the time I visited. It's in a strip mall but with Covid, parking isn't bad at all. This CVS fulfilled my idea of a decent, reliable drugstore. And now, wow, I can floss like a boss :) read more

I had terrible service with Photo. Do Not use to get photos done here. They lost my film. It started when I dropped off film to be processed. I was told it would take a week or so because it had to be sent out. No problem I thought. Weeks go by, I call and they say they did not have my prints yet. I returned to see if my film was ready days after that and with persistent probing, the clerk found my envelope still with my film in it, that had not been sent to be processed. as life does it goes on I moved out of the area. I called to see if my film was there and Manager Mike, as he wanted me to call him when I asked for his full name, told me he could not help me, he has only been in the store for two weeks. I called expecting help, especially from a manager and was meet with complete lack of regard. The memories on that film are lost, my memories and Mike literally said "there is nothing I can do, call customer service" which I have and that is just joke as well. Unbelievable the lack of care or compassion I was greeted with. read more

Kind of a confusing store. The sign for aisle 1 says "skin care, body wash, cosmetics". But the body wash is in Aisle 3, labeled "shaving needs, hair removers, bar soap". This aisle also has liquid hand soap, despite the qualifier "bar" clearly being written before "soap" on the aisle sign. Continuing on the theme of confusion, I can't figure out how to open the CVS brand hand soap. I am going to have to Google for some instructions. Someone could easily hurt themselves twisting and/or pounding their fist on the soap dispenser trying to figure out how to unlock it. I managed to get one of the two soaps open, but I'm not sure how, and I still can't figure out how to open the second one. I'm knocking another star off my rating because these are CVS brand soap bottles. read more

The pharmacy staff is amazing! So helpful and sweet. It's like going to your little neighborhood pharmacy! Totally recommend using them as your main pharmacy! They are always on top of things and communicate things well! read more

The board posted outside their door says they open at 7 AM. I unstrap my sick infant from her car seat and take her into the cold to buy some medicine only to be told they don't open until 8 and don't know why that board is in the window. read more

If I could I would give a negative review. My 80 yr old diabetic dad was just released from the hospital. I was not aware he didn't have Medicare D so his meds came to a total of $1,798. I knew he needed the most important insulin. I presented his Good RX info and the lady told me that his insurance would not cover that. Then I found a card on the counter and I said what about this I guess it was a CVS discount card. She said oh that brings it down to $333 and some change. I went ahead and paid that because I knew my father would be in dire straits. When I got home I checked the good RX website and saw that the insulin was covered and it should've been $108 co-pay instead of the $333 which I paid. I contacted his social worker she looked it up and found the same thing. I have been on the phone on hold for the pharmacy yesterday 3 1/2 hours I'm sorry I'm not exaggerating. And I am now on the phone again for an hour and 22 minutes this CVS is very understaffed very unprofessional they need to be trained and I am going to move all of my fathers prescriptions over to Walgreens I just do not feel comfortable with the professionalism or knowledge of this CVS pharmacy I hope this helps others you either have to stand in line for an hour and a half or be on the phone for three hours and hopefully you will get the right answers read more

Rude! I know I called shortly before 6 (closing time) and was talking to someone in the pharmacy then at 6, she hung up or the phone went dead and I got a daily tone. She wasn't very friendly and had no patience; I felt she didn't want to talk to me. Just because she was having a bad day she didn't have to be rude. She is in a business (retail) that deals with customers. I wish I had her name so I can report her to management. In person, they are generally nice and never had any problems. read more

Do not go here for photos!!!! I am forced to give 1 star, but they don't deserve that. After sitting there sorting through and choosing my photos to make into a photo book, the sales person tells me they are out of books! I was there for at least 45 minutes. You would think there would be a sign advising customers that they didn't have any books. So I tell her I will just take the photos. Well, of the 80 photos I got 11. Went back to the store and she says the books don't even do 80 pictures. They do when I added pages, which was an option. So I just left and will go to Walgreens now for not only photos but everything else. read more

Store seems understaffed most of the times,looks like the cashiers have to deal with taking care of alot,I've seen on several trips higher ups talking down to cashiers about not being able to keep up with their given tasks and completely disregarding the fact the cashier just spent 30 minutes non stop ringing up customers frantically calling managers for back up and they magically show up when there's no one around,my suggestion is to treat the cashiers like humans and have more associates working at all times. I really only visit CVS for their Pharmacy, but whenever I walk in I'm usually welcomed/smiled at and get the "if you need help..." speech. The Pharmacy Techs are knowledgeable and very helpful, I really like that they call when my prescription is ready. This CVS is located inside the Green House shopping center, it used to be a Longs but I find that I visit it a lot more now than before. Regular prices here for items are a little high, but once in a while there are some nice sales and good prices on clearance items. The store is clean and orderly, staff is usually courteous and quick. This CVS is also located conveniently next to a Chase bank, I usually come in to make a photo copy of a check for 10 cents and then head on over next door to deposit it. The store usually isn't too busy or over-crowded so shopping is easy and peaceful for me. read more

This place is all right, not the best, but all right since I will give them that. I come here most of the time to usually get prescriptions, or to buy small things like supply for medical needs, and office supply if I don't want to go all the way out to Office Depot, or a medical store. The reason being I like to come here though is that the staff is friendly, and helpful when ever I may have a question about anything, or am looking for a specific object that I just can't find by myself, or I may even be in the wrong section of the store. If you maybe having trouble at your own CVS why not come by, and check them out since I know you will be getting some good service if you are not receiving the needs at the one you maybe going to. read more

I really enjoy the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to assist with finding an item. The young African-American gentlemen (and the Pilipina) cashiers always are gracious and attentive to their duties. There is also a hispanic gentleman that is excellent. The Pharmacist Miss Huang is very helpful and seems to enjoy helping the customers. I could go to Walgreens; which is a little closer, but I will drive a little farther to have such a pleasant place to shop. read more

Rude workers!!!!! My grandma gave Ian this coupon from their savings card & it was not put on the receipt & only realized at home. We called the store & they told us to come back. We spoke to manager & he couldn't do anything bout it. If you're a manager, I know there is a way to satisfy the needs of your customers. My grandparents go here almost everyday & that is not acceptable. Don't tell us to come back to the store so you can fix the problem but can't do anything about it. Waste. Of. Time. Pharmacist is rude and makes you feel like a criminal filling regular prescriptions. I would advise you go elsewhere for a pharmacist who actually cares and is more kind. We come to a pharmacy for help not to feel like a criminal. read more

When I returned to the store to pick it up, the manager reviewed the tape, which shows her picking up my drivers license after the store closed and leaving with it...and they say..."we will investigate it"...investigate what...that you employ people willing to steal from your customers? I am horrified to think what she could be doing with my identification!!! read more

I came in last night to have some prescriptions filled and apparently they are having some issues with medications stocking at the place across the street. I was helped rather quickly and in a very friendly manor (thank you Jenifer). I think I will be doing my business here from now on. We finally got a prescription filled at this Lewelling CVS pharmacy after visiting the two pharmacies on East 14th St, San Leandro, and being told that they are not equipped to fill the doctor's written prescription. Their excuses were:(1) the one pharmacist who could authorize the prescription was away for two weeks, and (2) they are a low-volume pharmacy which means they don't stock many medications there. read more

I was used to shop in this store as it is close to my home. Also, the staffs and the manager were always very helpful. But I just noticed today they have changed the management. I was trying to return some online purchases to this store. The cashier was friendly and helped to ring up all the items, however the computer showed refunds on original price instead of on-sale price that I paid, then the cashier called the manager. Obviously, a manager's authorization code was required. The manager came over, but he just took a look at the screen and didn't even give it a try, and told me that they couldn't proceed the refund in store as the price showed on the computer was different than I paid. He told me I need to call the customer service number and ship the items back. Of course I didn't believe him as every POS system should make such simple transactions based on my inspection experience of POS system. I felt I was cheated. The new management in this store is really terrible. One star is given to the nice and friendly cashier. read more
