God, we've gotten so dumb as a society and its reflected in the stores weve grown up with now hollowed out by corporate consolidations and the silliness of the populace they serve. BevMo used to be known for its excellent selection of wines, beers and spirits from around the world, many small labels not found anywhere else. BevMo is now a glorified gas station market with rows of chips. canned foods, cleaning and beauty products. I get it, owner GoPuff is just giving the people what they want but its depressing to see the end result. Overheard this conversation-- Customer--."where's the Cognac"? Clerk: -- "what's that, a beer"? At a minimum your staff should know about the main product you sell .....or you can continue circling the drain and see where that takes you! read more

Everyone was so friendly. Our cashier had a arm brace on! He didn't miss a beat!!!! He rang us up quickly. He was funny and could sale cars off a lot. Not that he pushed us for sales. 12/31/25, New Year's Eve, I know it's busy there so I decided to order online to beat the crowd. Received an email saying my order is ready so went over, there were about 5 people in line for online pick up. However, there is nobody helping. Kept waiting for 10 minutes and I finally asked a lady passing by if anybody could help for Online pick up. She asked me if I'm a DoorDash or a customer I said Customer. There was another lady behind me. Also a customer. However, that employee named Jasmine decided to help the lady behind me first .I told her I was here first. Jasmine completely ignored me and kept helping the lady. Even that lady said if you like you could help him first. Again Jasmine ignores me. I asked her again. Why are you helping her first. I placed an order online for pick up. I arrived at the store believing that my order was complete because I planned my arrival based on how long I was going to be in traffic and thus didn't check my phone. I entered the store and said I had an order pick up. The cashier couldn't find my order and asked if I had received the confirmation email. I checked and did see an email from BevMo. It said my order was canceled. So I asked the cashier if they still had the item I had initially ordered in stock. They did. There's nothing particularly exciting about this location. It's actually rather small compared to the Oakland location in Jack London Square (haven't been there in ages). The layout is a bit erratic, but ultimately they carry the essentials even though somethings require assistance to obtain because the popular items are secured in locked glass cabinets. Random snacks are for sale so adding a separate party grub stop may not be necessary. The lines are short and the service is friendly enough. Pour out a little liquor for those lost to senseless violence. read more

I had such a great experience here. As I work pretty close to the area, it was actually my 1st time at this location. The sale going on was awesome! Im engaged & we are planning a wedding for next year so being able to stock up for our wedding was perfect! The sale was buy one get one for $0.05. AJ was great, gave me great options & his personal preferences & listened to my likes & dislikes. He got me a cart & checked me out & everything! I like that he personally helped me out. If he hadn't I may of not made a purchase this night. The store seemed pretty clean & well organized. Everyone wore masks & seemed to have been keeping social distances. I'd give it 4.5 stars . I was in BevMo today,, and cashier Imani was helping two ladies at the front of the line,, there were 2 other ladies behind them and myself and a man behind me. Imani left the cash register to help the first 2 ladies and as she was walking with them Imani said " you all are my customers for now so if they don't like it they stay or leave she said it twice,, there were other staff in the store that could have help the ladies but for some reason this young lady felt that what she said out loud , loud enough for the other customers to hear her, was ok and she was comfortable with the poor customer service she was giving,, so I left and did not purchase the item. Sharing an email I sent to Bevmo management: I experienced one of the most racist, embarrassing, and demeaning experiences I have ever had at Bevmo this evening, and I will be sharing this same feedback through Yelp, as well as all of my customer service pages. First, I arrived at the store this evening and waited in line for service. Upon entering the line, I observed the cashier, Vince, looking at me awkwardly (if there is video, please replay it). Once it was my turn, I walked to the counter and asked if I could purchase a bottle of Veuve Cliquot and Grey Goose. He asked me if I had gone over to the cabinet to locate the champagne. I explained to him that I had been to the store last Saturday night and that the bottles of champagne were not in the cabinet, and that they had retrieved them from the back. At this point, he seemed unreceptive. He responded to me by saying, "well I can't help you with that". I atrempted to explain to him that I frequent Bevmo often, and typically someone will bring the bottle of champagne to the counter. Before I could get a word out, he said "Listen, I've been working here for months, and that's not what we do".  At this point, the manager, Brandon showed up, and I explained my interaction with Vince. By this time, a line had formed and this entire conversation was happening in front of an entire store full of customers. I told Brandon that I was there to execute a transaction, to purchase a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, and a bottle of Grey Goose; not to make friends or to cause a disturbance, but to execute a transaction. By this time, Brandon obliged. However, he told me that next time (even after having waited in line), that I would need to stand by each liquor cabinet to press the red button in order to get help for each item. I told him that I typically have done that, yet in this case the champagne was not in the cabinet. It was in the storage room. Why would I wait by the cabinet, rather than getting a store attendants attention? The whole situation was entirely disturbing. It was clear to me from the beginning that Vince did not want to help me, and Brandon, rather than assessing the facts of the situation, assumed that Vince was right and I was somehow wrong. The entire situation was petty; from the contents of the situation to the way in which it was handled. Both Brandon and Vince chose to debate with me, rather than do their jobs, in a timely and non-confrontational manner. It was unethical, demeaning, and racist.  I have been to Bevmo many times before and have never received this type of treatment. I believe they could both benefit from coaching and training. I will most likely not be shopping at Bevmo anymore, and will find businesses who value me as a customer and my money. I will not pay for mistreatment. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 2: 56/100 There are many other stores up in here so it sorta makes parking a bit challenging. Came around this 'hood to meet with family but had to make a stop here first and get some happy drinks! Walked in and the first thing that came to mind is that it is much smaller than other BevMos I'm used to. But fear not! The selections are just as good. Hubbers and I found what we needed within minutes of walking in. We were sorta taken aback by the long line to the cashiers, but they were quick! The only mess I saw was located next to the ice box. There might have been a minor accident - there was a whole box worth of wine bottles (and contents) on the floor surrounded by pieces of glass. But the staff diligently worked on getting it cleaned up immediately. Not my usual BevMo spot, but not bad! read more

Ive been coming here since they opened.(employees don't appear friendly...a smile goes a long way) I came yesterday and the checker wanted everyone's id who was with the person buying liquor, and stated that was the stores policy. Fine( I believe all company's should be consistent with how they treat their customers.) There is no consistency with how the employees card at this location(its been this way since they opened, I'm just now writing about it). Today Josh checked us out and as he had my friends Drivers license in the air looking closely at it asked are you over 21...my friend laughed and replied he was 33 with a smile to which josh asked Yes or no like its Bevmos policy to accept a yes or no to determine if you are 21 instead of checking the id in his hand? Josh says hes worked there for 2 months(but didn't need my id or my other 2 friends as the employee stated was policy the day before). Josh had my friends license who is 33 and couldn't read the license? I'm aware that most places make it easy for an employee by placing signs that help them determine who is 21 in any given year. Some employees at this location don't ask for id, some want id from everyone with the person buying liquor, some even need the manager to approve the id. This store seems to have a high turnover of employees that have their own way of checking id. Its a bit of a mess when its such a small store with a limited selection of things. ***A word to management, its a simple fix. Employees should be approachable, be courteous, and consistent.*** read more

Went into this BevMo last weekend to get some bottles, first time ever at this location. Walked in and we asked the girl that was working at the front if there was any 1942 bottles available for purchase. She said no they were sold out and left it at that. HUGE SHOUT OUT to Ajay who came up to me with a warm smile and asked me if I needed help. If it wasn't for him I'd be giving 1 star. Told him we were looking for 1942 but his co worker already said they were out. He looked at me and said "I got one left for you". He went to the back and grabbed the last 1942 bottle for me. So you weren't sold out? Customer service was A++++++++. We ended up getting the 42 and 2 more bottles of casamigos from his recommendation! I hope you're reading this bro! Really appreciate you and the work you do at this location. There's a BevMo 5 minutes from me and I'd rather go to your location 20 minutes away because of the customer service! Big big thank you to the managers here. I know times are weird right now because of covid, and they were doing online only orders. Not even realizing, I stopped by here on my way to go drop off a special gift basket for my father whom I haven't seen because we've all been quarantined. I wanted to make him a special Portuguese baskets with all of his favorite things, including a Portuguese port. They informed me it was online order only but allowed me to come in and stand to the side while they went to go grab a Portuguese port for my father and let me purchase without an online order. It may have seemed so little but it really made the basket. Thank you again for the small gesture of kindness and doing it in a way that still helped keep us all safe. A welcomed edition to San Leandro. I enjoy wandering these alcohol aisles and slowly trying something new. The store isn't as large as some of the other stores and the selection is a bit smaller but the people working here are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly - as is expected from BevMo. Went to the store very close to opening day years ago and was impressed how they had it together from the beginning. Prices are probably a tad cheaper at Costco for typical stuff but for unique stuff or alcohol questions come here. This is a disgrace to See's Candies . I shop your San Francisco Market street shop and it is always full and clean with excellent service. The candy on this fixture not filled. The fixture was dirty see the pictures and the Nuts looked past the sell by dates. You should send the Manager and Staff of your San Francisco shop there because this is a disgrace to the See's brand and reputation. I loved See's candies and this should never be allowed. Shout out to Ajay, Claudia, and Chris. Great workers. Very consumer friendly. All are very different. None of them lie to customers. Especially in times of the quarantine they still seem friendly and cheerful.This was my first time visiting this location as I recently moved out here. I couldn't imagine how nice and friendly they are when we are not going through a pandemic. They all really try to satisfy the customer, and that's rare. I used to work in retail so I don't care for any special treatment. The team they have here is genuine and I really hope they are all getting taken care of. Ajay proved excellent customer service during the holiday rush. Despite the high demand for customer service, he recognized that I needed assistance at the cigar section. He offered his assistance, made recommendations, and even offered a better deal when he saw the last item I was interested in was slightly damaged. He apologized on behalf of the store and tried to make things right to send me home a happy customer. I appreciate his attentiveness in recognizing that I needed assistance, and his follow up even after he had already provided assistance ones before. He even pulled additional stock from the storage area to offer me more options to choose from for a Christmas gift. I would highly recommend Ajay for any customer service needs. read more

It is smaller than other Bev Mo stores I've been in but do have a fairly good selection of many things from wine, whiskey, beer and other alcoholic things. Staff is friendly and helpful at finding what you're looking for. This is an age restricted store. So if you're not over a certain age, you can't be in here. read more

I had the best time wine shopping at this location. Mr. Jesse was my personal shopping associate who assisted me during this trip. I'm new to the wine world and had no idea what i wanted. With Mr. Jesse's guidance and extensive knowledge of wines, wineries and years we were able to find a wonderful selection for my tasting pleasure. I am very impressed with this employee, and this being his second day on the job. Outstanding. This store is always stocked and full of choices. This is easy to get to. Bart to Bayfair then walk through he parking lot to BevMo. This is located in the Bayfair shopping center. I highly recommend getting a BevMo card to track your purchase because of their store discounts. All the employees are great and extremely helpful. The pricing is outlandish, even when they advertise "Specials". If you would like to save $$$ on your favorite beverages, you can go almost anywhere else for a better deal, unless you feel charitable or your wallet is to heavy. Way better pricing on the same items can be had just down the street from this store at Walmart, and you get everyday pricing. Check it out and see for yourself. read more

I went there Friday before Super Bowl Sunday on my own and needed to pick up a few items. It was busy yet a gentleman quickly came up and asked if he could help me find anything. I thanked him and asked him not to walk too fast as I am handicapped. When all my items were found, he carried the heavy ones to check out for me. I went to Bevmo today to pick up a purchase that I ordered online. When my husband walked up to pick up my order the lady told him he couldn't pick up my order because the order was under my name. After i went and got the order my husband noticed that we were missing something and the lady tried to give him a hard time. AJay Came up and told my husband to go with him he would help him. AJay apologized for the way the lady was acting and when he went to go and check to see if our other product was there it wasn't. AJay and Ivan took them time to look for what my husband needed all while they were helping other customers in a very busy store that had a line wrapped around the building. The white lady with glasses in there is very helpful and knowledgeable with where everything is located. The Asian lady with the big head and big forehead be careful for her if you're Black or Brown. She randomly lunged and touched my small bag and then asks if I would like for her to place my alcohol inside of my bag. She starts to move my personal belongings around as if she was making sure I didn't have any of their items in my bag. She really took her time sorting my things and moving them around my bag that consisted of two phones, car keys and AirPods. It made me feel uncomfortable. It almost felt as if she thought I had stole something. I come here a couple of times per year and this experience did not make me feel good. Please do cultural sensitivity training with that lady. So I barely write yelp reviews but here goes. I made an online order for pick up at this Bevmo. I recently moved to SL and this was the closet location so I decided to make an order to stock my bar. I was assisted by AJ. I came in on a Thursday evening and he helped me bring my items to the car I got like 4 750 ml size bottles and 3 bottles of Stella so it was heavy for me. When I got home I realized that I accidentally ordered Casamigos Reposado vs. the Casamigos Anejo that I actually wanted. I went back hoping they would let me do an exchange. I was in luck! AJ found the last one hiding in the back and helped me do the exchange. I was so happy he remembered that I wanted it because he actually called to let me know they still had one at the store.
