Seriously, this is one of the most disorganized, messed up CVSs I've ever been to. I've had most of my prescriptions transferred here and more often than not, prescriptions are mess up. There's usually a long line, sometimes with 10 or more people waiting. There are chairs right next to the counter so anyone sitting there will overhear conversations with the pharmacist (usually discussing why the order is not ready, on and on). They can't seem to find prescriptions that other CVS stores have filled even though they are on the same data-base. Go here if you have time to waste, shopping while they are trying to fill the order they were supposed to fill yesterday with a high chance that what you take home could be wrong. read more

I want to write an official complain against the two female technicians working tonight. They told me and my husband they were having problems with my insurance because of a "duplicate claim". Being a technician myself, I know exactly what this means. I told them that was not possible because this medication hadn't been filled previously. I asked them to call the insurance when they responded with "we'll call tomorrow morning". Are you kidding me!? We came to a pharmacy that's opened until midnight for a reason - my husband needs this medication tonight! After half a day in urgent care, they want us to go back home in misery and come back tomorrow morning!? I had to pay cash to let them continue NOT do their job. Man, the workers here are grouchy! I mostly use the pharmacy. Arnold is literally the only nice person that works there. Everyone else appears to always be pissed off and in a bad mood. They are rude and totally unfriendly. You can count on a wait too. The pharmacy will have a ton of people working and only one register going with a line ten people deep. It makes no sense. It's like the pharmacists are too good to pitch in. Should you checkout at the standard sales line, you can guarantee you'll get someone that's in a crappy mood. While this store is so clean and newly remodeled, the staff clearly have not been give any training on customer service. read more

This review is for their pharmacy. I had a prescription transferred from my provider to this CVS and about a week and a half later went in to pick it up. They told me that they didn't have anything for me, so I called my provider on the spot to confirm that they did indeed transfer it. Told the counter and they told me that either I had sent it to a different CVS in the same shopping complex (there isn't one) or maybe it had just gotten lost in the shuffle and that I should ask my doctor to send it again. Tried doing that, called CVS after I had gone home to confirm their address, fax number, everything, thinking that maybe I had sent it to the wrong place. I called my doctor's office and reconfirmed everything and had my prescription resent and called back the CVS two days later to see if it were there. NOPE. Still didn't have it. They told me to have my provider to transfer my prescription AGAIN and at this point I'm losing my patience as I have an international flight the next day and won't be back in San Diego until 3 months later. Ended up calling my provider again after I had already left the country...to transfer my prescription to a Rite Aid for my friend to pick up my medication. Worked perfectly. The people were nice enough, but trying to pick up a prescription and not being able to do for two weeks after getting it transferred twice is ridiculous. Never going back read more

Pharmacy is ok, except that you always have to wait for a long long time. The really bad thing is the staff/cashier. I tried to buy a bottle of mineral oil this morning. The online price is $4.39 but the store has $6.79. When I asked, the lady told me "we don't compare at all" and refused to match the online price. I bought it with the online price in another CVS store later. This is the first time I was told CVS store does not match online price. read more

I needed to make an emergency pit stop to CVS yesterday as my grandma had suffered a fall and I needed to get her a wheelchair. I found an assembled wheelchair in the back and as I made my way to the front to check out, a nice lady at the register (Janethe) offered to assist. She rang me up and as luck would have it, she happened to be the one who assembled the wheelchair and worked in that particular department. This pharmacy is awesome! The pharmacists are absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable, and helpful. I went straight to the pharmacy after the doctor and my prescription was ready. My 3 year old son was rather rambunctious and the South African pharmacist was very kind and understanding which I greatly appreciate. He careful explained the medication and helped me get other items to help my son. It was such a nice experience! The old reviews are accurate but it has greatly improved. I suspect they had some staff turn over which caused a lot of problems but it's been a wonderful team working there for about a year now. read more

I was being helped by an older man who appeared to be the manager, Jonathon Witter. Maybe have seen him once or twice, rarely greets, seems like he hates his job, doesn't seem welcoming. But didn't matter to me since it was always his workers who were way more enthusiastic about their job more than him. Anyways, I come up with my sister to buy some snacks, face mask, drinks, and a bottle of wine. He asked for my ID. I gave it to him. Then he told me "there is no way of validating a PA ID, I'm sorry, I can't take this. Do you have a California one?" I've never been told this before but I simply told him I didn't. I'm not from California. I'm visiting from school and this is my break and you're asking me for a California one? Aren't you kidding? I told him I've always been able to use it at this location with no problem. And his answer was "Well I need to educate my workers." HOW RUDE! now you're bad mouthing your employees? Horrible manager. He needs a new job. I'll gladly go into a different location with better costumer service. :-)) read more

I just want to start off by saying I'm all about customer service and the people I deal with here are amazing late night. A couple people stand out, Fidel, Joe, and Curren. Also a lady with short hair that works the grave yard shift. These people that I dealt with were beyond amazing !!!!! They each handle customers with Patience, and with a smile on your face, and just made sure all your guests were well taken care of and so accommodating! I don't know if this is the guy I deal with all the time but he's always there and has been there for a while. He's very sweet I think his name is Joe or Fidel. I go to this CVS about once a month usually just to get sunscreen. They are priced about the same as other drug stores. The aisles are not kept up very well. I almost always have to wait behind one or two people because there is only one cashier. Parking is always a breeze here, they have a HUGE parking lot. If I could give zero stars to CVS I would. This is not so much a review of specific CVS pharmacies but of the entire CVS organization itself. I'm on a mail- in automatic refill system for all the meds I take regularly with Express Scripts based in NY. For other prescriptions that my doctors send electronically when I have been sick I had used the CVS on Bernardo Center Drive. Unfortunately the business model of CVS seems to be to increase drug sales at any cost , whether or not you have asked for them, or it's medically appropriate. Once they have filled a prescription for you are placed in an unsolicited automatic call system that will relentlessly call you urging you to refill what was meant to be a one time prescription for a limited time only (e.g. an antibiotic for URI, Advair for bronchitis or Gabapentin for pain). or worse yet, to come pick up the prescription they refilled without your authorization. It seems their system is designed to have you in their clutches for the rest of your life I have unsuccessfully tried to get those annoying calls (some as early as 8 AM) to stop. I recently switched to the CVS on Duenda Rd., hoping it would make a different, but it has not although that CVS is cleaner and the people are nicer. Depending on who you talk to at either pharmacy they either tell you they took you off that system (doesn't seem to make a difference because the calls continue) or "there is nothing we can do, call our corporate office (which doesn't work either because the calls continue). Seriously, are we to believe that we lowly individual consummers are responsible for taking on the Information Technology (IT) Dept. of a mamooth corporation so that they will programm their systems correctly ? Shouldn't that be the sole responsibility of CVS through their chain of command, starting at the local stores who should report client's disatisfaction and insist that these problems must be corrected? At this point I'm giving up and I'm in the process of switching from CVS to Sav-On at Albertson's because I cannot honestly continue to patronize a pharmacy chain that is in essence a peddler and pusher of prescription drugs for profit, and in the process inflict what by now amounts to deplorable harrassment tactics onto their customers. I'm also getting in touch with the State and Federal regulatory bodies for the pharmacy industry to see what recourse we consummers might have. Incidentally, nationally CVS has an approval rating of less than 10%, the rest from poor to bad. Can't figure how they can stay in business. read more

To wait 30 mins for them to check your insurance. Why couldn't they do that before I came in. They filled it but didn't bother to look up insurance like at other pharmacies. The staff is friendly and they are well stocked. Pharmacy is hit and miss. I've seen pharmacy treat elderly customers awful. The manager is a jerk. I had issues with my Extra Buck rewards and he basically said too bad and told me to call the 800 number. So I basically lost 13 extra bucks. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the long wait for checkout today. This seems to be a chronic problem at this store. This store is consistently understaffed at the check out registers and check out takes forever. So many people waiting in line and only 1 checker open and taking such a long time. Can't the management fix this by ensuring at least two checkers always? Why does this CVS store constantly piss off their customers this way? I don't understand it. It is an ongoing problem and the management should be FIRED and replaced with competent managers who actually care about customers and see to it that they are well served. Way too busy - overworked and understaffed. They messed up my prescription by giving me 10 days of an antibiotic when doctor ordered 14 days and refused to admit to error even with the doctor's office on the phone. Thank goodness my doctor's office gave me a print out that stated how many days I should take it. Time to get a new pharmacy. read more

I stopped using CVS years ago due to their horrible customer service. Unfortunately, my pharmacy was closed today due to the holiday so I had to return to the dreaded CVS. Yep, CVS is still the same black hole and I didn't think it was possible, but their customer service is worse. Apparently the pharmacist could not understand my prescription as written and Gabriella the pharmacy technician at the drop off window told me the pharmacist would need to call my doctor for clarification before they could fill my prescription. Since I knew my doctor was only working a half day and Gabriella was busy updating my information in the computer I called my doctor myself to try and help. My doctors office pulled my doctor out of a patient room so he could speak with the pharmacist and when I asked Gabriella to speak with my doctor she yelled at me and told me the pharmacist would call my doctor herself. My doctor asked what the confusion was and when I tried getting clarification from Gabriella she slammed my insurance card on the counter and yelled the pharmacist will call, go wait around the corner over and over. I then had to deal with 3 different technicians telling me they haven't been able to speak with my doctor, my doctor had already left and finally we spoke with your doctor a long time ago but we can't tell you when your prescription will be ready because we have to rekey it in the system (whatever that is supposed to mean). I understand if CVS has certain policies they need to follow however I don't believe yelling and slamming customers insurance cards down are part of their policies. I spent over an hour waiting for my prescription.... CVS, get it together and get rid of unpleasant and incompetent staff. read more

Do not use this Pharmacy. They are either incompetent or dishonest. Neither a good look for a Pharmacy. On two visits they tried to upgrade a medication that was not covered by my insurance rather than filling the prescription with a brand of the drug that was in stock and was covered by my insurance. I am sure that this practice, in bulk, adds nicely to their bottom line. I will be reporting the Pharmacist to their licensing board for further investigation. read more

I go over to the CVS at Rancho Bernardo all the time and had most of the staff very nice to me. However a particular employee by the name of Mia who is a cashier was extremely rude and defensive. I would have been absolutely fine with an item but the way she got defensive and told me "well maam it's not my fault....if you don't tell me how am I suppose to know..". I'm stunned by all the bad experiences Yelpers have had here. I've gone to this pharmacy at least once a month for the past few years and I've *never* had a bad experience. I'm usually helped by Arnold or Daniel, and they're both super polite and helpful. We've had a few issues with our insurance company, and the people at this pharmacy did everything they could to help us. Do NOT go to this pharmacy. I have tried to fill my prescriptions 5 separate times there and EVERY time they managed to screw it up. They either wouldn't have it in stock (a very common drug), or they didn't receive the fax from my doctor, or there was something wrong with my insurance and they would fail to call me to tell me and just wait for me to come in, or they wouldn't call me when my order was ready... the list goes on! And each time they messed up they were rude and got an attitude with me. i HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER HERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. All of the sudden 5 employees started trying to get my attention as i tried to go to the checkout stand. I had music /earphones in. It was strange. When they started to say anything some of them were speaking at once. Like a kittle gang or mob. I like to walk and take a roller bag along to carry my purchases home. They tried to demand i leave my bag with them. I said No. they demanded i let them search my bag upon entering the store, and i said "No. I am not having you treat me like a thief or invade my privacy!!" the girl was trying to call her manager as if sh thought she had some authority that denied me the right to just say no.
