This has got to be the worst 7/11 I've ever been too. I keep coming back hoping the experience will be better just to be let down. The employees are rude and lazy, typically just standing around while the store is out of warm food, coffee and the soda machine is out of carbonation. I attached a picture of the selection of food from my visit today. The employee (Raul) told me he wouldn't be making any more food because it was too late in the night. It's 4:15pm. Still afternoon and just about dinner time. So lazy!!! I've lost all hot that this place will turn around. The 7/11 at 15883 bernardo center drive is absolutely incredible. Sign on door says "Back at 12:35pm" but they weren't. I've lived here since '75 and come here for years; I've never seen the doors closed before. It's always been open 24 hours. Another local resident was out front waiting and she said this has been going on for a while now, especially at night. Someone locks themselves in and doesn't open the doors. I'd like to think they're doing this for their safety or something but no, it seems more like they just don't want you to come inside. Maybe they should change the name from "convenience store" to "inconvenience store"? It's possible the owner doesn't know this is going on. If so, this yelp rating may be the only chance to let them know they have an employee that just seems to lock the doors every now and then. My daughter went to the 7-11 in the Bernardo Center shopping center near Carl's Jr. this morning to cash in several lottery scratchers. The lady working at 8am gave my daughter money for all but one $30 scratcher. The lady said the machine told her it was already cashed earlier at 7:57am. Yes, it's because the lady scanned it. She showed my daughter the screen, which my daughter took a picture of and it clearly states it was cashed at this store. She accused my daughter of cashing it in somewhere else even though it was clear it was scanned there. My daughter wouldn't be in possession of the ticket if it was cashed somewhere else and the system would have the address of where it was cashed. It was clear it was this store.There was another customer who came to my daughter's defense (thank you) and witnessed what happened. The lady went on to say no paper printed. How would we know that since it was behind the counter? And is that my daughter's fault? Now my daughter has a ticket and who knows if she will ever see her $30. My daughter asked If there was anybody else she could talk to, but the lady said no. We will just have to address using a different route. read more

Gentlemen who owns(?) is an absolute delight! Love coming here and he treats me like family. So kind to my granddaughter too! His older lady worker/ partner/wife (?) is rude. She speaks around or over you in another language than English and acts like it's trouble to ring you up. Never ask for something fresh from behind the counter, "you get what I got,no more". Never mind that it was cooked hours before and inedible. Shame on me for being bullied into an old item. He always cooks pizza or tacos fresh. Always convenient to have a 7 Eleven nearby and this one does its function very well. You can find anything you need for an emergency. I got invited to a BBQ today and the next Vons was not so close. I thought my 6 pack of Stone will be more expensive than at the usual supermarket but no, same price. Plus I got some sausages on the way. The only issue here is the parking. It is small parking lot and very tight spaces, plus the ones allocated to this store are for only 10 minutes. Friendly people working there. read more

No problems with this place whatsoever besides the old white lady in night shift. I used to come here a lot since I work nights too and get my lunch here. The lady is extremely rude and has attitude problems. One time, I couldn't understand her because she was talking so low and flipped out. I mean with the mask and everything, it IS hard to understand people but is it necessary to get mad? Who is the customer here? Me or you? Not to mention, she's always hiding in the back. I am absolutely shocked by the lack of discipline the employees at this establishment have. I filled up a large slurpee cup only to realize that there were no large slurpee lids but only flat big gulp lids, and being that I am a picky customer by nature I upgraded to the extra large size with the extra large slurpee lid and left my large one on the counter as I did not want it anymore. I then went to pick out candy and he rudely asked if I still wanted the large one and when I responded with no, he told me that it was a huge waste of money. From this point on he was being extremely rude and bitter. When I got to my car I looked back in the store only to see the worker staring at me with an angry expression on there face so naturally I laughed and tried to see if he was seriously that mad at my choice and then copied my laugh through the window and then abruptly stopped and looked back at me to I guess try to mock me. I then pointed at him to show my girlfriend this insane employee and I turn back to see him flipping me off. I proceeded to return the favor right back to him and when I did that, the employee then came out of the cashier area and out of the front door as I backed out of the parking spaces and chased after my car. This is absolutely insane and not acceptable in any way and I cannot believe 7-11 would hire a man like this. After driving home I decided to call the 7-11 and ask to speak to a manager and "conveniently" the manager happened to not be in the store and then he asked who was on the phone and realized it was me and then told Me to come back so he could "show me something" is what I believe he said to me. I am appalled at this behavior and I hope that 7-11 makes a change because this man does not deserve to have a job with such disrespect for the customer. read more

I have been coming here for a few years, but as other customers have said some of the staff are not very nice. Recently, I went in to play 2 lottery play slips. One was for $25.00 and the other $2.00. I gave Elias the 2 slips and the money and he handed me my $25 ticket and playslip anda $2.00 ticket and no playslip. I said, where is my playslip and he started giggling and the 2 girls laughed and then he gave me my slip. However, when the Fantasy 5 when out that night, I couldn't find my ticket and that was because he must have had a customer change their mind on a $2.00 quickpick for Fantasy 5, and passed it onto me. So, I didn't have my possibly large winning ticket. I went to see him today and showed him the ticket that he gave me and he said that it must have been a mistake. I told him that it was no mistake as he and his co-workers were laughing. This is the 3rd time in 3 years that the staff were trying to cheat me and probably other senior citizens. The boss is only worried about keeping the line moving and making money. If you go there, you need to be very careful. read more

So both parents stay behind this 7-11 at a retirement facility which means from time to time I pick up drinks and snacks for my parents. I have to say, the staff (especially a couple of the Mexican girls) (I'm Mexican also so relax) but they are rude to plenty of customers and have also mouthed off to the elderly (of course I witnessed it) one older man said "don't they teach you to say thank you?" And at that point the girl at the counter got mad and replied "I DID SIR, MAYBE YOU CAN'T HEAR ME" The man said "if you were my staff I'd fire you" she got loud and replied "well I'm the manager so that ain't happening BYE SIR!" after "Marrisa" (I think that's what the other girl called her) they both started using the F word back and forth as if the customers couldn't hear them. I shake my head....if they were my staff, I'd probably fire them also. Manners and politeness have been lost with our youth....maybe not all...but on plenty. Parking is really tight and difficult to get out of because it is right next to the entrance/exit... makes convenience slightly... less convenient. Anyway, the store isn't too bad, although the layout was a little strange for me. I do like that I can get a Diet Cherry Pepsi here, but because they have one spout for four different soft drinks plus the option to add Lemon, Vanilla, or Cherry, sometimes you can taste the other soft drinks in yours... like in my Diet Cherry Pepsi, I could taste Mountain Dew. I like Mountain Dew, just not in my Pepsi. Convenience also became inconvenient when there was a long line to check out and only one cashier to ring everyone up. Other than that, not a bad place if you need a snack... they have mini-donuts! I will say that they didn't seem to have a variety of snack cakes... like HoHos or Oatmeal Cream Pies... which is kind of what I was craving that day. Absolute worst 711 on the planet. Never shop here go to another other 711 but this one. The cashier was so RUDE to me, he lied about inventory. I went to this store to get a spinner and they not only charge more but they will not show you their other boxes. I told the cashier I came there for this particular item because another 711 manager called to see if they carried the item. I arrived and the cashier told that was all they had and charged way more than the other 711 stores. He rang me up threw my money at me and gave me no receipt. Worst of all the store owner was there and witnessed it. He looked at me and walked outside. Never again will I shop at this 711 and warn all to stay away, close this shop down.
