Daytime resupply of Meat and Fruits We came into the Poway Aldis during the day today to resupply on Meat and our normal Aldis items. Of course don't forget to bring a quarter for the carts, but if you do; you can always ask a friendly cashier for one. We found everything throughout the store, we are finally getting used to the newer layout. The store was well organized as usual. The staff were busy handling customers and restocking shelves, but doing so with a smile. We will continue to frequent this location. Keep it up Aldis! Second Aldi I've been to and it's pretty clean inside. Aisles are clear; wide and plenty of room to walk. Decent size store with fresh produce, meat, frozen food, wine and knick knacks. This store is stocked with good deals and fresh produce. Checking out was fast but the vibe from the cashier was not it. Did not say hello to me or acknowledge me just checked out my items and on to the next person. They have restroom for customers to use. Plenty of parking. Pros: everything but the cashier that day. I was extremely pleased with ALDI in Poway. Very clean with lots of room in the aisles. Inexpensive off-brands but good selections. You do have to bag your own groceries which keeps the prices down Imagine. read more

No "Hi". No "Hello". Nothing. Not one word from the cashier. Now I remember why I don't like coming here too much. Yes, it's cheaper. But, I hate how rushed I feel going through the checkout. I haven't even paid. I haven't even finished getting all of my items. Some are still in her hand and the cashier immediately started ringing up the next customer. Now both the next customer and I are standing there waiting for the credit card reader to finish approving my transaction. She's got items from both of us in the cart now. Waited the entire day through lots of work and meetings just to go to the Grand Opening of Aldi in Poway. Stepped inside and was pleasantly surprised to see such a well organized store! They had a little of this and that. Check out my pictures. One thing I will say is their prices were really good. In addition, I found some unusual items such as biltong. Yum!! The checking out was easy, everything was cleaned and easy. The cashier was chatty and nice. They gave out free bags fro the grand opening. This store is really new and interesting. This is really a nice Aldi location. The store appears roomier that many of the other stores. Layout is also a bit different - maybe the concept was updated. As far as merchandise goes, I found everything that I am used to in the other Aldi stores around the area with a nice stress-free environment. Glad I stopped at this location. read more

Had a great experience doing Aldi pickup via Instacart. I spent about $45 so the fee was only $1.99. I was super happy with the prices and the quality of what I bought. I was pleasantly surprised that the raspberries were really good! I did a check-in to see I was on my way as I was leaving Walmart. By the time I got to Aldi, just a few blocks away, I didn't even need to do the next check-in to say I was there because my groceries were already coming out to me. Aldi's Instacart timing is a little different than others like Sprouts. They filled my order two or three hours before the beginning of the time window I selected, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the notification said I needed to pick up by 12:00 p.m. (Sprouts says to pick up any time until 8:00 p.m.). It's just a matter of learning the nuances for each retailer. I will definitely do Instacart pickup with Aldi again! read more

I would avoid shopping here at all costs, they won't even help you bag even if you're old and/or disabled they just tell you to piss off and do it yourself and are rude in the process. I just want to say that the cashier today Jessica on 10/09/2024 was very rude i saw her gossiping with another person and ignoring a gentleman who he said hi how are you doing. Didn't consider him at all rang up his two items and she was already calling the next guest when she was not done with him i think he shouldn't even said thank you at the end for her being so rude. read more

I'm an Aldi newb & have only visited a handful of times, but so far so good! PROS: -Compact store with just the right amount of everything -Great parking lot -Hidden gems like ProForm bikes, small furniture pieces, pet clothing, candles, ankle boots, etc. & other unique items you can only get at Aldi -AMAZING selection of Holiday Advent calendars ranging from seltzers, cheese, wine, Hot Wheels, Lego and gnomes (available around November) -Pretty affordable non-name brand grocery items -Never really that busy, so the shopping experience is great -Clean store CONS: -Have to bring a quarter to use a shopping cart! I have yet to remember to bring one, but hopefully you won't be like me! You do get your quarter back once you return the cart. Reminds me of those old airport trolleys. Very inconvenient. -Very very limited selection of fresh produce. We could not find tomatoes or arugula once & it was so disappointing. -Doesn't have most name brand grocery store items. Great prices on certain items like produce, cheese, meat and drinks. It's not like a huge grocery store chain that has every thing, but you can find most of what you need here for a reasonable price. Remember to bring a quarter as a deposit to use their carts and you will find the produce at the front, then breads, cheeses, etc. It's good for a small household on a budget. They also have canned cat food and liter which I get there frequently, only $.50 a can and my cat loves it. Usually only 1-2 people working the cashier but it's typically pretty fast and friendly service. Whatever I can't find here I'll go get from Sprouts nearby. read more

Needed a quick few things and decided to give it a shot. The most depressing store I have ever been in. It starts with the quarter you have to pay to get a cart. Either they are too cheap to hire cart wranglers or they are worried about carts going missing.....in poway....? It's 2023 so of course I dont have a physical quarter. I had a $20 bill and they didnt seem to jazzed to break it so I said never mind and asked a guy if I could have his before he returned it. He said no as he needed that quarter back...thanks bro, good looking out. Next is the silent aisles with no music and completely random things in random spots. They had a lot of regular stuff but missing a bunch of other things including some essentials. Anyways this store sucks and I wont be back. Bummed that something better didn't go there. The cashier said they are usually a lot busier, and will probably get more busy as people realize they are open! The store itself was fine and would have received a 4 star rating had it not been for my check out experience. The cashier madly scanned items at a furious rate. It was impossible for me to see what was being scanned because there was no screen for me to see so I could check. When I checked the receipt, I found that I was charged twice for a box of cous cous. I only purchased 1 bix but was charged for 2 boxes.The over charge was about $2, but it will be such a hassle trying to get my money back from the store. It made me wonder why Aldi doesn't make it easier for a patron to check the cashier. Especially when they are scanning at Mach 5. read more

I love that Aldi has come to a location closer to my home. I love the great low prices staple items and the service is pretty good. You will need to pay a quarter to use one of their shopping carts, but you will get it back when you return the cart to the front of the store. You have to bag your own groceries as they do not do that here. They place your items back in your cart and you pay and go to the shelf bagging and place your groceries in your own bags. Lots of interesting European chocolates and goodies. read more

Thank goodness for Aldi! Great bread, produce, meat, and dairy section. Very good prices. Relief to not shop at "Superstore". No long endless lines. When lines do get busy at Aldi usually additional staff open new checkout stands. Aldi has a section of "trinkets", in my opinion Aldi could get rid of those items and expand the food, beer and wine selection. We carry our own canvas bags in so we don't have to figure out the strange "rental" of carts. The Aldi checkers are fast and friendly! Recently introduced my mother in law from Bay Area of L.A. to Aldi's. She loves the Aldi granola and purchased bags of it to take home with her! read more

Fresh produce. Super friendly prices. Store is neat, clean, easy to find items. I love the packaging. Fresh produce individually packed so you don't need to think of whose hands have touched before yours. Meat selection is surprisingly good. Most of the times I only see one cashier working but they call for help whenever the line is long. Very efficient and friendly staff. Overall, it's becoming my favorite grocery store, with regular household products available so I do not need to run to another store. read more

So disappointed in the customer service at this location. I did shop at this location at least once a week. Rarely am I greeted at checkout and have not ever been told thank you. Some staff have not have worn there mask over there nose/mouth and proudly told me they were not vaccinated. I love Aldis but not this location but it is the closest to me. I'm not going as often. There selection is usually picked over and messy. So disappointed. Shame on you.... This not the reputation Aldis has had in other locations in SoCal or the other states I have resided. read more

But the reason i took off a star is because the only reason I ordered pick up service was to get a specific fish I liked, and they don't have a number to call to actually speak with a person to make sure they had some, and sure enough they didn't, so for me it wasnt the greatest experiences since i didnt even get the main thing that I wanted. read more

Not gonna lie I really miss vons. Aldi is extremely small and didn't even have jiffy peanut butter which is a critical fail in my book, everything just seemed like an off brand version of what used to be there in vons. Produce section is microscopic, the meat section was small but decent but sprouts is right next to them so I'd recommend just going there. Nothing special about the place. We just had a ham I purchased there for Christmas. It was not cheap. It said smoked spiral sliced with a glaze. It was wrapped in foil with netting. OMG ..this is what it really was...a canned ham (pressed ham) sliced and it was grose. Needless to say, we won't be shopping there again. read more

Aldi is one of my new favorite stores. I have already been several times since they opened a few weeks ago. I think if everyone realized that the store brands are the same name brands that they resemble, but packaged differently, they would realize what a bargain they are getting! I just bring in my reusable bags and fill those instead of getting a basket, the checkers have all been friendly and efficient. They have all the basics I need. I did go in looking for Gorgonzola cheese which sadly they didn't have(which is surprising because they have a huge selection of cheese). It's now in my permanent grocery store rotation. read more

The online delivery process was so easy and the shopper, Christine would text me every step of the way and at first the item was not found but she listen to what I had to say and shared and it was in the back as a new promotional item that just went out today ! She was then the person who delivered the order in a timely fashion . I give the Poway store and Shopper & Deliverer , Christine a 5+ star rating .
