Great place for the family with a little bit of everything for everyone. The place itself is cute and has nostalgic vibes, since it's an old railroad station. There are many vendors including food, drinks, plants, fruits and veggies, and more. Definitely check out Sauc.d - I got a sample of their sauces, and now I'm hooked! They were so yummy, I had to get two jars. If you go early enough, get the Dubai donut from Mr. Crispy's. And of course, can't go wrong picking up a snack from House of Bao. There's plenty of parking at the parking lot or the neighboring streets. There's also seating throughout the area. If you're lucky enough, you'll catch the person singing Disney songs too. Dogs are allowed around, just not in the market itself. Highly recommend to stop by if you're in that area.

Was in town to visit my son. He took me to the local farmers market. First off there's plenty of parking. It seems like a lot of different vendors, I like how it's organized. The entrance has mostly produced vendors, while the back is mostly food vendors. I personally have never been to a Farmers market that had this many different kinds of food vendors. They had sweet, savory, and healthy options. We ended up at Glutenus maximus Bakery. Must be a popular location as the line was already forming. I got a ham and cheese croissant and some other sweet desserts. I like how the vendors were given out samples and trying to interact with the public. I hate when they act board or disinterested. I glad my son moved to this town

On Saturday mornings between 8AM and 1PM Midland Road in Poway is the site of a Farmers Market between Adrian street to the north and right around where the Old Poway Market is to the south. It is divided into a northern and southern section by Temple street that you need to cross to get between the two sections. Parking is plentiful very early right about when it starts. If you come a few hours later it can get crowded and you may have to search further out for parking. I've come a few times over the years and it's always been a fun time. There are a good number of produce vendors and food vendors. The last time here I got a pastrami sandwich from The Pastrami Stand and some bottles of mead from Golden Coast Mead. Old Poway Park right nearby has a museum, a gazebo where musical acts sometimes perform, a train that kids can ride, and plenty of places to sit and eat whatever you got at the farmers market. There are bathrooms at the train station and also at the Heritage Museum at the west side of the building.

All kinds of things from food, drinks, meat and many more. Its not big but pretty much they sell all kinds food. What makes it more fun its the park and the trains that goes around the park. Its different cart or train depending on the days, sometimes locomotive and sometimes the train. Its creates fun for all ages. Its very hot during Summer time. And trains sometimes don't run when the weather is extreme. There is also Heritage Museum there. Really a lot to see to explore and enjoy.

Now this is a hidden SD gem! First time here and I was in awe of the park, set-up, community and all the vendors that were available! They open at 8am and close promptly at 1pm so get there on time! The Saturday crowd was definitely on their A game! Everyone was so friendly and the sun was out and shining! There is a little park nearby with a train too! In want to come back here for a date day! Haha the food was all on point. I feel like there are more food vendors here than your typical farmers market!

Standing in line for freshly cut fries! I'm behind all these people, and there's people behind me!

Ask the Community - Poway Farmers Market

Is it open in the rain?

    Yes

What's the name of the live plants/nursery vendor?

I have moved from Poway to Michigan and wondered who the vendor is that sells homemade tamales there?

    Floral Trade Tamale's

    Are small dogs allowed?

Yes. I've seen all sizes. The smaller ones sometimes I see are carried by their owners. Or people have them in the wagon.

Wanted to get some items from the market and it wasn't there. Anyone know why?

The market is only open on Saturdays from 8am-1pm. They are open rain or shine unless it is very windy out, or a major holiday like Christmas.

    Are there fresh mushrooms?

They do have fresh mushrooms, go check out Kawano Farms.

Looking for fresh seafood particularly oysters and squid. Do they sell these items?

The fresh fish guy does have oysters! And uni (sea urchin), scallops, etc. Not sure about squid but go and see and ask him! The fish is the freshest I've ever bought! And the guy who sells it super nice and knowledge. I get sushi grade fish there… Read more

From delicious food, to fresh produce, to the most gorgeous and vibrant flowers, to beautiful pottery, to unique clothes... you name it, they have it there! Make sure to come early as parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to park closer to the farmers' market. Once you get parked though, everything is a breeze. They even have tables and chairs around for people to eat at. There's also a playground for families who have little ones! I could never go to a farmers' market and leave without fresh flowers, so of course I had to pick up some from Hidalgo Flowers. They always have the most colorful and stunning arrangements, and for a decent price too. This time, I got a bunch with the prettiest sunflowers. We also picked up the sweetest and reddest strawberries from this one vendor. I highly regret not getting their name, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them the minute we go back. We got a cup of strawberries with some dark chocolate sauce from Strawberries and Chocolate. That was sooo good! We devoured it so quickly, we didn't even get to take a picture of it. One of the standouts for me was the Pork Sisig Rice from Baryo Eats. It was AHHHHMAZING!! It's the best kind of pork sisig that I love to eat--the taste was so good and nostalgic, it took me back to my college days back in the Philippines! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We also got some Paella from Driana Catering/Taste of Spain. It was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. We were just sad they ran out of shrimp by the time we got some, so we were left with chicken only. We got some goodies from It's Cafe Thai as well--Milk Tea with Boba, Taro Thai Coffee, and the Mango Sticky Rice. All of them had just the right amount of sweetness and hit the spot for us. Lastly, we had some of the watermelon and the cucumber lemonade refreshers, and the chicken and pork tamales from Gourmet Tamales. They were so good, we even took some home for later! Overall, I'm already looking forward to the next Sunday we can stop by this farmers' market!

Stars off for parking and crowds, but we lucked out on great parking and were on the way out when things were getting peak crazy. Now - all my treasures. There was a bread guy. Great breads. You'll know the ones you want. Oceanside? Carlsbad? I am on strike as of now and will be hard pressed to make due with a Driscolls berry. Oh - and this magical little orange. I should have bought 5 pounds. I drank fresh OJ while we were there. 11/10. I'm so happy that after an awesome vacation of vacation dates and treats we get to keep it going with some lighter meals. I made tuna salad with celery and onions. Well have grilled veg with dinner. Magical berries all day. The special grilled cheese with gruyere, honey, mustard and all the other little meals il weave my Ja Jolla open air marked finds - incredible. Then, all the things I didn't buy because they wouldn't have survived in the car. Salad. Flowers. Tomatoes. All beautiful.

If you can get over the fact that parking is a nightmare (tip: get there early and use the free parking lot at the DMV) you'll love every second of your time here. We got there around 9:30am and were lucky enough to snag a spot at the aforementioned lot - about a 5 minute walk from the start of the market. From there, we took about 2 hours to fully explore, including a quick stop at a cute and affordably-priced vintage stop right off the vendors' booths. There is a huge variety of goods, mostly consumables with a few jewelry and handmade goods worked in. The vast majority of consumables booths had samples. I tried balsamic vinegars, loads of dips, some fresh fruit and tomatoes, bread, tempeh, you name it. I wasn't even hungry for lunch after going! If you aren't keen on samples, there are lots of prepared food booths for a full meal. Prices are reasonable. I bought a delicious Mediterranean 3 layer dip for $6 and my brother got a massive focaccia loaf for $10. The vendors were very friendly and helpful. Many (most?) also had business cards with shipping info if you're like me and have a full suitcase already. I would consider this market a must-visit if you find yourself in San Diego on a Sunday. [Parking]: Difficult parking situation, but I got really lucky and found a street parking spot near the intersection of Cleveland Ave and Richmond St at 9 AM. Apparently visitors can park for free at the DMV parking lot (3960 Normal St), but the lot fills up quickly so come early. According to the website, visitors can also park at the United States Postal Service parking lot at 3911 Cleveland Ave. [Amenities & vendors]: The farmers market does not accept EBT. The market takes up about three large blocks and visitors can find produce, gifts, arts and crafts, flowers, clothing, etc. Not many fruit stands offer samples, but other non-fruit food vendors do provide free samples. The market also has a solid food court including one vendor selling coconut pancakes (Coconut & Co. Thai Fusion). The coconut pancakes (aka khanom krok - $4 for 8 pieces) reminded me of the sticky rice from mango sticky rice and these pancakes were actually quite good. [Conclusion]: Our party only ended up staying for 30 minutes, but overall this is a great farmers market for anyone who's looking for solid one-stop food options and not necessarily looking for a produce-focused farmers market.
