I realized my first review of this company was back in 2015 and in reality, I've been ordering our…read moresoy sauce from them on a regular basis since then! We are addicted and will only use the Ohsawa Nama Shoyu, which is an organic and unpasteurized soy sauce from Japan. Our Whole Foods used to carry it and now they don't and I've looked at some of the local Asian markets but cannot find it so we order from Gold Mine. In all of the years I've been ordering, I have only had one misstep with an order. It was during COVID and I typically order the 32oz bottle which will last us for about 4-5 months. What came that time were two small bottles and I had a bit of a challenge getting in touch with them during that time. Once I was able to talk to someone, they were quick to rectify the situation and they shipped out the big bottle. The shipping is always great with the bottles being bubbled wrapped and then wrapped in thick shipping paper to secure the bottle and get it unbroken to the destination. It also has only taken about 4-5 days from order to arrival. Wanted to give Gold Mine an updated shout out!!! We are customers for life!

ABOUT: From their website: "Gold Mine Natural Food Company is a family run, San Diego local small business. We sell high quality, organic, macrobiotic, vegan, gluten-free, raw, kosher and specialty Japanese products. In house we produce organic, raw, unpasteurized sauerkraut by hand in small batches. Gold Mine was founded with the intention of sharing the healing power of food." Most importantly, they have a great history on how they got started. It's a business that started in 1985 on a $300 loan ! You can find their products at most local health food stores nowadays like Jimbo's and Sprouts. They are known for their Ohsawa Organic Nama Shoyu and organic, raw sauerkraut ! Both of which I've had in the past ! Their other best sellers include: GF Kelp noodles, green pea chips, and mung bean chips Check out their website for online products, recipes, events, cooking classes/demos, etc.: http://shop.goldminenaturalfoods.com/ EVENT DETAILS: I was fortunate to go to an event here: Vegan Oktoberfest Benefit for Vegetarian Educational Institute (VEI). VEI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people about the health benefits of a vegan/macrobiotic lifestyle. I'm all about supporting businesses that teach the public about better health and nutrition. Food is thy medicine and this place is all about that. KUDOS to them ! Located in the heart of Poway (not too far from home WOOHOO!) and they have a large manufacturing facility that distributes traditional macrobiotic foods and other organic products such as heirloom quality grains, beans, and seeds. They also host classes, event parties, and cooking demos here ! Parking was plentiful on a Saturday evening. Indoor/outdoor set-up. Everything was SPOOKtacularly decorated. The indoor space had a large seating area and a bar with stools. What can I say ? Awesome event ! They celebrated the launch of their new GOLDEN KRAUT !! I'm a sucker for kraut and I was krauted out after this night ! They offered all you can eat FREE BARBEQUE ! We enjoyed vegan frankfurters with Gold Mine Sauerkraut and Kimchi, cucumber salad, potato salad, Maya's Cookies (BOMB.com), and other goodies ! They also had unlimited Green Flash Beer for $10 ! Everything was DEEE-LICIOUS !!! The potato salad was addicting ! I couldn't get enough of it ! The sauerkraut and kimchi were plentiful and more than enough ! I was overwhelmed and as an Asian chick I'm a sucker for fermented foods. The cucumber salad was very refreshing and was a nice addition to the flavorful, vegan frankfurter that can even fool an omnivore. NOMNOMNOM !!! They also had great raffle prizes from Solti juice, Maya's cookies, shirts, gift sets from Gold Mine Natural Food Co., and vacation getaways !! Super generous of them ! I won a huge box of Maya's cookies ! WOOT !! I've never had these cookies before and after this event, I agree that they are the BEST VEGAN COOKIES in San Diego ! Hopefully, they can expand their products and have them available in most stores. They might have another event coming up next month and I'm already looking forward to it ! I think the theme is vegan tamales !!! Oh yeah ! So glad I discovered this place, because I am now a huge supporter of them !! Keep spreading the LOVE OF FOOD AND HEALING !!!

I'm no stranger to supplements and how they work, or supplement shops; but Alan did a phenomenal job of explaining the differences between certain creatine types so that I could confidently purchase the product that I thought was best for my needs. Alan was also great at answering my girlfriends questions about different protein-centric products. Nowhere did my girl or I feel as if we were pressured to make a purchase and get out. With the prices (compared to GNC and Vitamin Shoppe) and the friendly and knowledgeable staff I would recommend Nutrimart Poway to anybody. Alan is rad and so is this store!

Chuck took me around the whole store himself and found me everything I needed with a pleasant graciousness and humor, as well as recommending special products. He personally cashier'd me out in plenty of time to not hold up the store closing. I have to say the entire group of employees were as pleasant and helpful as anyone would have dreamed a store could be. I came to Jimbo's for their high quality organic foods and found a home for my shopping needs and friends in my community. I will recommend Jimbo's Market at 4S and Chuck every time.

Today I ventured a little out of my way to shop at Jimbo's. Immediately upon entering the store I was struck by how bright, clean and inviting the store was and how engaging the employees were towards me. The restroom is clean, well stocked and the walls have a beautiful mural painted on them. I love all the signage throughout the store. It's easy to read and helps immensely to navigate the store. I got to the hot foods counter 5-10 minutes before they put out the rotisserie chickens. I could see one employee pulling the cooked birds from the oven and packaging them for sale. I was struck with how clean and neat everything was and the great care the employee in removing the chickens and preparing to be put in the hot case. As I was waiting I must of had 5 or 6 employees go out of their way to greet me and offer to assist me. I enjoyed looking at the cold case and the offerings. The real egg salad definitely caught my eye. I will definitely get on my next trip to Jimbo's. I also love that they sell cooked and hot breasts, thighs, legs and leg quarter in small quantities. It gives the shopper to just buy one package or multiple packages depending on much you need. The produce and fruit were amazing, well displayed and drew me in as did the bakery department. I enjoyed being able to go up and down the aisles that were well stocked and organized. I went to Jimbo's for a rotisserie chicken and left with several of goodness. My cashier Lisa was amazing. She was very friendly, engaging and very careful in handling my items while ringing my items. I also appreciated how carefully she bagged my items. I wish I could remember all the employee's names who checked on me, said hello, offered assistance and took care of me in a timely. I was short on time so I didn't get the chance to check out the deli area but what I did see from a distance looked amazing. Sure their prices are slightly higher than some bigger chain grocery retailers but the quality, freshness and ready made products put Jimbo's in a class of their own. I have just found where I will be doing all my grocery shopping from now on. JIMBO'S NATURALLY IS IN A CLASS BY ITSELF. Thank you for such a great shopping experience. I can't to come shopping again in a few days.

It's pretty utilitarian inside, which helps keep the costs down for us. It has decent lighting, but not overstimulating. I like ALDI, they do a lot of things really well.
