The store mislabeled the price of merchandise and wouldn't honor the price given. The employee then tried to talk down to me liken it was my fault because he had it labeled at the higher price at a different spot in the store. I had to get a manager involved. Started feeling under the weather on the 16th... thinking I should get tested because of the pandemic... they had no appointments available until the 19th... that's 3 1/2 days is a long time to worry about being tested when you have to worry about work, the children in your life and elderly family members. I arrived the morning of my appointment and was told that testing was drive thru only. This huge price of information was not mentioned at all any any of the process booking the appointment, nor any of the subsequent emails or text messages they sent. I asked if o could just walk through, and they said no, I needed to have a car... I told them I don't have a car because of a head injury that prevents me from driving... they said that they couldn't help... shows how much this company and this location cares about containing the COVID pandemic... and on top of that wasted days of my valuable time waiting for this appointment... this is truly disgusting... I will never shop at this location again, nor CVS as a whole.... very bad policy. read more

CVS stores: 1610 E Camelback Rd Phoenix, AZ 85016 is one of the worst CVS stores I have ever had the misfortune to use. I initiated a call in 2011 regarding poor customer service and inaccurate medications. I was told that CVS would be sending a manager to the store to observe their customer service and make necessary corrections. I continued to have issues with changes in manufacturers causing hives and delays frequently and have remained a CVS customer due to the geographical location but no more. Friday night I waited after paying for my prescription for over 2O minutes. Two vehicles behind me left the drive thru-lane and orchestrated backing out of the drive thru lane due to the unacceptable wait. I called the store on my cell phone twice and still no service. I left my car to see the pharmacist leisurely reading and making no effort to deliver my prescription. If I had not paid and if I could go into a store (medical condition prohibits exposure to perfume) I would have just left CVS never to return but no one should have to put up with such poor service. Try the following stores with great customer service and you will save time as drive thru means nothing if it is treated like a parking lot . CVS raises my anxiety level with every interaction. A few nights ago I was on the phone with them for an HOUR to find out why two prescriptions were 'rejected'. How hard can it be to provide that information? In the end, the big answer was...wait for it...."I don't know." They never go the extra mile with customer service. They don't call you when things go wrong and just wait for you to discover it on your own. If you are out of refills and the doc doesn't call back, they don't let you know. If your doc calls in a drug that's not approved by your insurance, they make you do the legwork to find out what a suitable substitute is. Like I know what a formulary looks like or what drugs to search for! They don't keep notes in the system of previous calls, so every time you call in, you have to start from square one. And I once had the pharmacist confirm it was ok for me to take an over-the-counter, but when I ran it by my doc, doc said no way, there is an interaction. But the pharmacist was in such a rush, he just sent me on my way without really looking into it. Soooo, I'm done! Goodbye CVS, hello Safeway. read more

I have been shopping at the same CVS for 5 years since I moved into this area and tonight a manager who has helped me in there before as well as a store assistant manager just refused to return an item I purchased at CVS and the reason they did that was not that I didn't have a record of the sale they never even looked it up for me I asked them to know the manager came up to the register said just one moment walked in the back and came back out and told me he would not be able to do the return because he's not accusing me but he's missing the item from the peg in the back and I stated the only reason for mentioning that is to infer I am a thief and that guy single-handedly destroyed what little remains of an already kind of shity 2017. I literally walked home and looked at myself in the mirror to see why he thought I look like a thief. The satisfied look on both his face and the woman assistant manager was even worse. They did not look up the purchase on my rewards card. I walked in with the product and the young man up in front new that I put it down right in front of him as I walked in. They could you even have looked at their security camera film to see I didn't steal anything and I never have but now I think I look like I do and I actually thought I didn't look badly I had a knit cap on because it was cold and I walked but I had an Eddie Bauer vest on a Nike jacket really expensive running shoes but apparently I'm not all that I'm cracked up to be. He tried to hand me back the nails he literally looked amused but I refused. I just started going here a lot more too around August simply because between it and Target I can get most everything I need without having to go quarter to a half mile further to get to Frys. In fact the woman manager I mentioned is sisters with a nice woman I worked with at Fry's and I even told her that. And when she was doing an exchange for me a few days prior she messed it up and somehow ended up changing my cash payment of record to a gift card payment of record so that I could no longer return one item in a big long list of items nope I had to take a gift card which I did and I hasten to buy something with it and that stuff was the wrong stuff so I came in this morning she was there with my receipt she's the one who did the exchange and she looked at me oddly. Then tonight she looks at me oddly calls the store manager for a $6.99 return actually Exchange and the store manager decided not to check to see when I purchased the nails but rather went in the back to see if I had taken any of his inventory. Where do you get your training? CVS your store manager managed in just a few moments to make me feel completely inadequate insulted and humiliated. When I asked him how he could say something like that he said I didn't say you did it. Holy cow. And I said the only purpose for telling me that rather than checking for the sale on my account was to infer that I am somehow responsible. Therefore you are denying me my right to return the item. Even though I walked in with it I purchased it at another store but I have purchased the same product at this store. So I walked a mile in the cold for absolutely nothing I returned home feeling like absolute garbage it's just the final cherry on the Sunday especially the look of amusement especially on his face he has helped me with purchases in the past but apparently he doesn't remember me and now I look so unkempt or as though I don't belong he didn't even give me the respect of checking for the sale. My words in this review will most likely not convey my disappointment with this establishment. However, I will try my best. I dropped off a prescription Tuesday evening. I pulled up to the drive-thru and waited at the window for over 5 minutes without being acknowledged. Not a "hi, we'll be right with you" Nothing. I wasn't in a hurry and understand that these places can get crazy busy so I waited this time without pressing the "Call for service" button and when I finally did, waited another several minutes before I was rudely greeted by a younger girl who looked like she would rather be doing anything at that moment besides helping me. I then gave her the prescription and it took her another several minutes to tell me that they would have to order it and it wouldn't be available for me to pick up until that Friday! I was a little upset that I needed my medication and would not be able to obtain it until then, but I figured what can I do, and agreed to be there Friday to pick it up. Upon arriving Friday after work, I was in a hurry to get home and figured they had plenty of time to get it good and ready for me by Friday afternoon and assumed it wouldn't take more than a couple minutes. First off, they only had one of what I had been expecting three of, THEN they wanted to charge me over 80 dollars for something that has always cost me 10. I said that there must be some mistake and the "kid" behind the counter said he didn't know what to tell me except this is what they are supposed to charge according to my insurance company. So I left, extremely upset, without my medication. Then I called my Insurance company and I was told that CVS was wrong and I was only supposed to pay the 10 dollars as usual. When I went back, I was prepared to sit and wait as long as it took in order to get my medication at the price I was supposed to be charged. I ended up spending over an hour in the CVS this time until they finally figured out they were wrong. I ended up leaving that day with my medication which I paid the amount expected from the beginning and left with a smile on my face and at no time was rude to the "less than educated" workers behind the counter because while I waited for them to fix their mix up, there were several customers who were presented with similar situations, all of which were not nice to the staff. This however is no excuse for them to be little punks and not give a crap about people, this is our health we're talking about and it should not be dealt with by a bunch of dumb dumbs... I will most likely be going elsewhere next time I need a prescription filled. read more

I hate this CVS with a passion. There are always people hanging outside begging for money. Sometimes, CVS allows these fundraiser groups to hang outside their door and ask you for money on your way in/out. I normally wouldn't care, but I'm not handing cash to a cheerleader to go to camp when there are children dying of cancer that could use the money more. Just saying. Anyway, back to the panhandlers. About a year ago, I was coming out of this CVS and heading to the bus stop. As I turned the corner, a guy approached me asking for money and before i could answer, he pulled out a knife. Luckily, I was able to run to the bus stop and the bus came right then. I was pretty shaken up because it was summertime and nobody was really around in that area (it was by the drive thru pharmacy). That evening, I decided to call the store and ask to speak to a manager to address their issues with people begging for money. Not only did I get an attitude, but the lady from the description of the guy that I gave her, seemed to know exactly who this person was (described him as a regular customer). She defended him by saying that it didn't sound like something he'd do. Um, excuse me? I was able to give her the exact time according to her that he is around CVS, a description, etc. Why would I lie about this? So a simple task like keeping panhandlers away was proven to be too difficult for CVS to handle and their managers could care less about their customers. read more

The pharmacy staff was less than helpful and extremely rude when I had questions on a new prescription, and I was the only one in line. Worst service I have ever had at a pharmacy. Every time I went to pick up a prescription it was not ready, even if I gave them 48 hrs to fill the script from the time of my Dr. calling it in. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but the employees are very rude and act like they are doing you a huge favor by even acknowledging you. The last time I went my script was not ready yet again and I didn't have time to wait because I was on my lunch. The woman stated she would call me when it was ready. When she did, I told her about my complaints, she asked me to hold for a manager. After 25 minutes of holding I told her I could not wait any longer. This CVS has turned into the place where I buy most everything. The staff is super nice. The pharmacy staff is super competent, patient and accomodating. I haven't had nearly as good of an experience with a pharmacy anywhere else in the valley, so I try not to go anywhere else. The only criticism I have is a CVS policy that is not exclusive to the store--if you need to transfer an RX they will make you wait 24 hours to fill it. read more

I don't know why people feel the need to bash this pharmacy. The staff is fast yet overloaded with the high volume of people to serve. They still go out of the way to fix insurance carrier issues and get what you need on time. This location is a nexus of neighborhood demographics of central Phoenix. It's ridiculous that customers could be so intolerant and self centered to complain about being forced to share their time and space with strangers. I'm posting a good review for this CVS because I'm impressed with their speed, diligence, and composure when they are forced to cope with so many issues from dawn to dusk every day. They have always corrected an ongoing problem with my insurance carriers and the medications I'm prescribed, despite the lines of fuming people with their own issues. Keep up the great work, because I'm sure your numbers are exponentially higher. I'm grateful that this team is my pharmacy. It wouldn't work anywhere else. Thanks! read more

I like this CVS because it's close to home and open 24 hours. The store itself is alright. I like that they sell booze, most of which is less expensive than Total Wine across the parking lot. The cashiers can be slow but they are usually nice. The problem with this CVS is the pharmacy. They are a little clueless and some techs are just rude. About a month ago I filled a script there and they said it would take an hour. I needed this script ASAP so I killed time in the area. An hour later it wasn't ready. I'd say I waited a little over two hours for this medicine and then when it was finally ready the pharmacist wanted to 'go over it with me' even though I had taken it before. Yeah right. He told me I need to get off this med ASAP because it is probably one of the worst ones out there. Excuse me? Are you my doctor? No. MInd your own business. Your only job here is to fill my script and tell me how to properly take it, not tell me your opinion. My doctor gave me this for a reason! I was extremely upset at this point and just left. I called a few days later and spoke to the store manager who I believe is named Jason. He took down my name and number and said the district manager was going to call me. This was a couple weeks ago and I've heard nothing. I really hope this pharmacist is not saying these type of things to other customers. This was so incredibly unprofessional and off putting.
