This pharmacy is not open 24 hrs. a day, everyday. Today is Saturday and the pharmacy closed at 6 p.m. and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Retail merchandise seems priced a little high. Store is messy and employees disheveled but normally quite nice. read more

Absolutely miserable experience again and again. Understaffed, rude, and disinterested. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have been on hold for over ten minutes at this store. Their non-prescription items are overpriced. They used to have a wonderful woman pharmacist who kept me coming back despite their other staffing issues. The current pharmacist and pharmacy manager is surly and unprofessional. It seems whenever they hire someone competent, they transfer them to another store. I grew up in this area and b4 therewas gas station there.I wish this place would of been there.I like them better then target for the parking is great and the prices are better.Plus i always get a 3 dollar chas a coupon when i spend 15 dollars and use my cvs card. Needed a prescription at 6 pm Sat. after discharge from hospital. Had problems getting Ins info to them. Had problems with a prescription where doctor did not specify quantity. They went the extra mile to help. Took initiative to provide bridge for the prescription that was incomplete.Went past their closing time to deliver what was needed. 20 minutes ago I called in for my medication and first the gentlemen who picked up the phone sound annoyed. Then when I asked if my medication was ready for pickup he then angrily ask for my info. He then proceeded to inform me that my medication was ready I ask how much was the price. Then he gave me the price and I said thank you he replied BYE!! I barely started going in there and only for convenience because my wife work close by. But I would rather drive farther as long as i get good service besides the staff does not look very friendly. Here I am again after nearly 6 years. I still use this pharmacy but have never been happy. Unfortunately I have been stuck with them for almost eight years or so because of my insurance. Their latest scam is their so called automatic refill. By refilling prescriptions before a prescription is due the frequency of refills can be mathematically compressed to maximize insurance reimbursements. In my case this results in expensive medicines expiring before I can use them, causing waste. Insulin is one of these meds. I have MANY TIMES requested no auto refill. Also when they take it upon themselves to auto refill I am harassed with countless annoying robocalls. The latest is a return I tried to do with an unopened container in an unopened sealed box in an unopened bag of expensive test strips. My cost was $1.23. They used the BS excuse of Covid, yet there are hundreds of items in the store that anyone can touch. The real reason is my insurance pays them around $374.00. They don't want to return that. With so many people that have no good way to access consistent medication supplies this drives up costs for us all and hurts the needy. I may have stated this in another review that the work culture is also poor. Often the staff seems to be stressed out or exhausted. And in the past when I addressed a similar issue regarding prescriptions some employees stated "Why should you care? The Insurance pays for it." No, I pay for it in premiums, my employer pays for it also, we all do. I am going to inform my insurance and leave it up to them what action to take. read more

I got in line in the wrong place and after waiting for 10 minutes because there was only one cashier I was told I was waiting in the wrong place and to go to the real line and wait behind a bunch of people that were not there when I first got there. Pharmacy is absolutely horrible. So many times now they don't have medication in stock and then we have had to drive to another CVS. The wait times can be horrible. Often times our doctors have called in medication and spoke to the pharmacist directly and when we go in it is not filled. We have to get the doctor to call them again and then wait and wait and wait. I am beyond frustrated with them now and we are spending time looking for a better pharmacy for my family. read more

This is mostly about the actual pharmacy (for prescriptions) Used to be top notch. I go there regularly; they knew who I was. They were very proactive when there was either trouble with the insurance or the doctor's office, resolving issues quickly. Past year, the service has gone into a tailspin. I have no idea who anyone is anymore. If a problem comes up, there is no follow-through, no call-back. They have been out of my prescriptions many times also, in recent times. When I've asked them to call another pharmacy, they've lied about having done it and the other pharmacy being out too. When I called myself, I always found availability at other CVS Pharmacies nearby, either the first or second one I called. Recently, they wanted to change to call my Doctor's office my blood pressure medication rather than check for availability with another pharmacy. They've had multiple mixups on quantities also (ie, 1 month supply versus 3 month supply). Then they argue with me about it being right. About six months ago, it took TWO WEEKS (!!!) to get a simple refill requiring doctor's authorization. I had to call 4 times. I started calling a few days after. The problem just went on and on. It ended up being their mistake. They kept saying the wrong authorization had been sent, when the doctor's office had sent a correction already, which somehow had gotten misplaced. It's actually frightening the extent to which they make mistakes. I get multiple prescriptions every month and I can usually expect an error with lots of confusion every 2 to 3 months on average. It's gotten very frustrating. The problem is that I don't find the other CVS closer to me much better. I've tried them and either their service is so-so or they too make mistakes. Unfortunately, our plan requires we deal with CVS otherwise I'd be going to Walgreen's in a minute. Years, ago, I dealt with Walgreen's and even though they were not perfect, mixups and confusion were not very common at all and usually there was a very good reason if something went wrong. At CVS, it's like they are paying no attention whatsoever to what they are doing, I swear. I decided to write this after one more problem today where I could tell the person had absolutely no idea what they were saying. They gave me a partial fill at no charge because they did not have enough in stock (although I order the same quantity every 3 months). And when I called to find out when the balance was going to be ready (4 days after the partial fill), they told me there was another partial fill on the shelf for me... When I pressed the person, the eventually said it would go through the insurance (probably because it's been sent through already...) Who knows...? Just extremely frustrating. Also, even if there are almost no customers in the store, the lot is almost always full. If you go off-hours, expect a good line at check-out also. read more

This location has gone through a few changes in pharmacists. I have been coming here for 2 years now and my last visit was probably what I would my worse. I went to urgent care due to a horrible sore throat. They told me that a prescription was sent to the pharmacy on my paperwork. So I drove straight to this CVS. Upon my arrival there was a line of 6 people ahead of me and their drive through was down for servicing. I waited in line for 40 minutes because there were only 2 people working behind the register. I could over hear one of the ladies behind the register apologizing because they seemed to be short staff on that day. I finally get to the front and the lady behind the register tries to look up my information and tells me I have no prescription. So I provide her the paperwork from the urgent care. She doesn't offer to call the urgent care which they have done for me in the past, but instead she says we have nothing from them and I need to call them. So I take my paperwork and leave. I call the urgent care and they ask me why didn't the pharmacy just call us??? Hmmmm... I wonder that myself. The urgent care then sends the prescription again. I get back in line and wait 20 minutes and get the same lady behind the register. I provide my information and informed her that I called the urgent care. She tells me that they have nothing and asks me did they send it electronically or did they fax it? I was not sure and said I wasn't sure and only knew that they had sent it AGAIN. She shakes her head in response and said sorry we don't have anything. So leave the line again, my sore throat worsening because now I'm coughing as well. I call the urgent care again and end up speaking to the same lady I originally spoke to on the phone. I inform her that CVS still has not received my prescription and that they wanted to know if it was sent via fax or electronically. The lady on the phone then tells me, let me call them because I sent it electronically as soon as I got off the phone with you. I get back in line at the CVS and there were only 3 people ahead of me, but unfortunately I get the same helpful lady behind the register that I got the other 2 times previously. OMG!! I was so happy when she confirmed that they had received my prescriptions. But then she tells me that they were short staffed and my prescription would not be ready for another 1 1/2 hours. It was 5:30 pm. I said that's fine I will come back later. At 7:15 pm, after literally polishing off a full family sized bag of cough drops I returned to CVS. There is no line and no one ahead of me, BUT I get the same lady behind the register. She looks up my information and tells me that my prescriptions are ready BUT the pharmacist is out to lunch and will not be back for an hour. She said she couldn't give me my prescriptions because the pharmacist was not there to ensure that the prescription was correct. I didn't respond and just walked away in disbelief. If it were not that my insurance prefers using CVS, I would NOT continue to go to this location. It says this CVS is 24 hours, it needs to be because they make you work around their schedule to get your prescriptions!!! Needless to say I've had better experiences... read more

Horrible customer service. Went there tonight to pick up a prescription after visiting a nearby urgent care. When I got in the line the pharmacist said I will be with in just a minute . A minute turned into 25 minutes later with me standing in line for 25 minutes. I was not felling well to begin with after waiting 25 minutes on my feet I felt worse. After finally being wasted on the pharmacist was multitasking, counting some type of paperwork, very dangerous to do when dispensing medication. Avoid this place if you can. I know 1 star seems a bit harsh but that's how bad every experience I have had here has been. This pharmacy is easily the worst I have ever been to. My husband went through a very serious health situation and the hospital and dr. office both called prescriptions into this office. I have now been here with him to get medication four times and each time we have waited 40min to an hour. This is for basic prescriptions, in our case, diabetic test strips and insulin. The staff claimed every time that "they hadn't received anything from the doctor," and every time it ends up being an error on their end. The doctor has showed us that they have sent the prescription in either electronically or by phone each time and 40min prior to us walking in. We are one of three people sitting here on the side of the pharmacy with issues and they are all related to them claiming the prescriptions have not been called in. I have never experienced such disorganization and poor service in a pharmacy before and we will switch to Walgreens today and hope for better. Really nothing can be worse than this pharmacy. Service is not good. I dropped off my prescription. They said it would be 20 minutes. I shopped till I had more than enough junk. They called me to the front. They didn't run it through my insurance. They said it was $130 something dollars. I said run it through my insurance. I guess there was a mix up. They said it would be 10 minutes. They call to say they only pay for generic.. So 10 more minutes. I come up. They say generic is out of stock. What the ...40 minute waiting for what? Terrible pharmacy staff, rude, not helpful. When my doctor accidently sent prescription to wrong cvs, they even suggested for me to drive all the way to the other one far away, when I told them to fill here, they said it would be 15 minutes but it took one hour of waiting. Terrible service and they were extremely rude about it. This is my 3rd time having issues with this staff, they need to retrained majorly with customer service in mind. I will go to a different pharmacy from now on, just too many times, too many issues. read more

Went here to get an Rx (non controlled substance), they were $217 and would not accept a "Good Rx" coupon. My insurance would not cover the Rx. So, I shopped around and the EXACT same Rx at Walmart in Duarte, with the "Good Rx" coupon was $19.71. Unreal.. The "drive in" line at this place on Arroyo is always understaffed and you have to wait forever. Walmart allows you to shop and will send you a text when your Rx is ready. Reading the long list of bad reviews this place already has explains why I've always felt the service and organization of the pharmacy was bad, but my most recent experience ratchets things up to frighteningly bad and dangerous. I placed an order for delivery of my prescriptions via the CVS app on demand service in the morning. I needed the prescriptions that day but through a series of CVS mistakes they never arrived. First CVS could not figure out how to scan the prescriptions to release them to the waiting delivery person (even though the delivery person already texted me she's on her way to me with the Rx). Hours later when they solved that issue and set up a new delivery order, CVS sent the driver to the wrong location. He ultimately returned the drugs to CVS but no one let me know. I spent 90 minutes on the phone with Janie, Yiang, and store manager Eddie thereafter only for them to tell me they could not get my prescriptions delivered at all that day Janie promised practical solutions like let's get someone to drop this off at the customer's home that Eddie overruled as against store policy. He did this knowing it was crucial for the medication to arrive last night. Eddie also constantly blamed another manager who was not even in the store. Yiang, although nice and clearly trying hard, admitted she was not familiar with the delivery system and didn't know how to manage it without further "messing up" the situation. Clearly this CVS and their new "delivery" system have serious problems to work out in terms of training, communication, and reliability. read more

The pharmacists/technicians here tend to be less friendly than other local pharmacies and they consistently take much longer to fulfill prescription orders than from my experience at other local pharmacies. I have dropped off medications here at least five or six times and have done so at different times of the day--either after they open, midway through the day or a couple of hours before they close. Somehow, they always consistently take longer. Perhaps this pharmacy has many more customers than at other places, but either way, I'd go somewhere else. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I've been picking up my prescriptions here for the last year and the technicians are truly incompetent. I've had the same brand name prescription for a while now and in the last few months they have begun to give me the generic, which I've specifically expressed does not sit well with me. I've visited the pharmacy three times in the last month in an attempt to pick up the brand name prescription and they keep issuing the wrong one forcing me to drive back. You would think after a couple times they would write a note in their system that indicates brand, but that would be asking too much. I'm taking my business back to the Target pharmacy where the technicians actually know what they're doing and the pharmacist is there to answer any questions. It's worth the extra mile drive than dealing with CVS team members that don't know what they're doing. read more

Wow geez I've been coming here for a few years since I lived across the street for like 3 years then moved out of Pasadena and today came to visit parents and unfortunately I cut my mouth today while eating lunch but not a regular cut a fairly bigger one and was bleeding and hurting and all. So I said to my self I am going to go down to the pharmacy across the street and ask what I can use for it (other than Tylenol) do prevent it from getting infected being open and bleeding as it is. AND geez never have a meat someone so stupid and ditsy working behind the counter in the pharmacy consultation area!! Geez never again will I go back to this pharmacy again no no NO! Has the manager/Supervisor not know how to hire and fire people f#%k!! How frustrating I walked out not getting anything and asked my dad to give me a ride to another pharmacy in a different location in Pasadena.
