One star: they had what I needed. Negative several stars: the music was SO loud the clerk and I could not hear each other without yelling. In the aisles, it was even louder, I could not wait to get out of the store. I would have bought lots more, but couldn't take the forced "entertainment". I will never get a prescription from this CVS ever again. This is a customer who has given up on this company. Why? It's the same old story. It's follow up, execution and customer service. Every time I walk into this establishment I feel like how are they going to stress me out and a customer should never feel like that. When you call ahead of time to get a prescription and you go the following day and it s still not done and a the pharmacy employee makes up a story that i already filled this prescription somewhere else. She then continues to tell me that she needs to call my insurance to get more information. Have you ever gotten such bad customer service that you don't know how to respond? I just walked away clearly knowing that she was wrong and I drove all they way home to to get my empty prescription bottle so that I could show her. As I walked out I received a call from the pharmacy saying my prescription was ready. I can understand if this was a situation where it happened once but when a customer see s a history of bad customer service by in-store pharmacy team and when district leaders who clearly know this and in turn lack the basic fundamentals to be transparent with their team. The store is fine, the pharmacy sucks. Without any warning, they changed my prescribed medication. No phone call before I came to pick it up. No disclaimer when I paid for it over the counter. When I noticed that it was a different medication when I got home, I called the pharmacist. She insured me that it was exactly the same as the previous medication I was receiving and CVS just switched to this manufacturer instead. HOWEVER, I called my doctor and he said that the medications were NOT the same. I tried using this new medication anyway and it completely messed with my system. Also, there is ALWAYS a line for the pharmacy. No matter what time of day or night you visit. If I ever step foot into this CVS again, it will be to buy a bag of Cheetos... not for my medicine. read more

Here is my experience with CVS... It's the last night of Hannukah tomorrow - and my friend is out of candles. Where do we go for a box of Hannukah candles with only one day left? Called Howes and Gelsens, but they're out. Random thought: what about CVS? Call them up at 12AM (early bird gets the worm, right?) Person checks their inventory and tells me there's 1 box left. I started going to CVS because Walgreens changed their policy on not filling anxiety medication if you take pain medication. I have been with Walgreens for 15 years at least. So I go to CVS, I was very excited! They seemed very helpful. Then I got some jack ass pharmacist who wanted to question one of my RX I told him, if you have questions call my Dr's office. YOUR NOT A DR! And I don't have to answer personal questions. I could tell he was annoyed. He said, 30 minutes. There was maybe 3 people who came in to pick up RX. He then filled my scripts and proceeds to clean for 15 more minutes. I finally told him where is my scripts? He tried to ignore me, I said it again, just a little more firm. He finally gave my RX to the tech. I was so pissed!!! He's the only pharm I don't like. The others are cool. read more

This CVS is a bit ghetto compared to the nearby one in porter ranch. Not as nice or clean inside and smaller selection of products. My biggest problem was that we ordered a prescription, and the male staff who took our order totally forgot about it. So when we called a few days later to check, none of the staff had no record of our order. Switched to Porter Ranch location and was much better. read more

So I come to pick up my prescription when I am told that my prescription is not there (I called my doctor's office and they confirmed it was there and so did another pharmacy). As it turns out, they had my prescription under a different birthday so I couldn't pick them up! They had me drive to another pharmacy claiming that it was at another location!!! When I arrive at this other location, they told me it was back at the other pharmacy. Needless to say, I transferred my prescription to the pharmacy on balboa and Nordhoff. i was a longs customer from way back when. so when cvs took over longs, i was a bit leery. ESPECIALLY when they cant get my prescription right and they dont know how to transfer and ive been waiting for a week to get this straightened out. wtffff. so frustrating. they called my normal longs at a different location but the cvs pharmacist claimed they had no record of me. i had spelled my name i dont know how many times. so i was confused but called my old longs and they said, yes, we have you in our records (obviously, ive been going to them for 19 years and just refilled a rx 2 months ago). so i called cvs back and they still claim i dont exist and need a new rx from my dr... so i transfer it to a different cvs but then THIS new cvs claims my insurance has expired. oy oy oy!!! i called my insurance and they said, of course its not (i knew it was good til jan 2010). i called cvs back at this new location to call my insurance (which they claim they dont normally do for patients...?!) and said my insurance company said i was still active... ummm so whats the issue?! i done. i had my rx transferred to RITE AID and they got it done in 1/2 an hour. and oh, yeah. my insurance? they had no trouble. EXCEPT! when longs transferred my rx they accidentally did it for 1 month instead of 3 and now longs cannot undo what it did. so i have to go to my doctor to get ANOTHER rx bc cvs is inept. wtf. at least they are 24 hours and you can buy tons of stuff in there. read more

I'm not one to write a lot of reviews, but what I have to say here applies to CVS corporate policy, not the personnel at their pharmacy, who are excellent. The issue is price gouging in the pharmacy. Pure and simple. I went in to get a prescription filled for a generic antibiotic. I don't have insurance so this was to be a cash purchase. The tag for this drug was $100.21. I stopped and did not buy it because I have gotten the same drug from a small independent pharmacy before for $21. The small shop was closed, so I waited till the next morning and went over and bought it for $21. I asked the pharmacist what the brand name version cost and it was $135. Just for kicks I called back to CVS and asked how much they charged for the brand name version and it was $165. So, CVS adds a higher markup to brand name products than small pharmacies in spite of obviously much bigger purchasing power. Then the "discount" for the generic version is a price nearly 5x what the small shop charged. Frankly, I think this is criminal behavior. This is only the first of a series of pieces I will be posting on this. As far as I am concerned, CVS is engaged in profiteering on the needs of people who are ill and come to them for remedies. I'm done with CVS. Other people should be as well. We hear in the news of massively inflated prices charged to government agencies for products. (Remember the $600 toilet seat.) What does not make the evening news is every customer of a nationwide chain being robbed at about the same rate of inflated profit. Shareholder value? I think not. The shareholders that allow this and collect dividends from it are just as culpable. read more

The worst pharmacy! I wish I could give it -5 stars. My son was diagnosed with the flu early in the morning and a prescription was sent over immediately. Six hours later they had not filled the prescription and when my son went down there weak with the flu, they told him it would be another few hours. I called and they told me the same, they wouldn't be able to get to it for another few hours. That is absolutely ridiculous! If you are sick and need medication, do NOT go to this pharmacy! I ended up transferring the prescriptions to the CVS on Reseda and Chase and they quickly filled it within minutes. I highly recommend you go to that pharmacy if you are sick. Stay away from this CVS. This pharmacy is poorly managed, poorly staffed, and disorganized. I do NOT recommend! read more

I occasionally bring helium balloons to be filled and pay the store the cost. However, today I went again, and was told by Darin that they don't do it. He went on referring me to Walgreens. I asked him: "Are you sure that Walgreens even sell helium balloons? He had an awkward facial expression and said to try Ralphs five blocks away. When I asked why they don't offer the service anymore, and he replied that he doesn't know how to charge it! Are you fxxxing serious? Rude, incompetent and if you want to wait up 30 min to just be able to pick your meds then your have chosen then right local I had a 103 fever and was in line forever to get my rx only to be told that the pharmacist was out to lunch for an hour or SO??? and since I hadn't had that rx in the past they couldn't sell it to me without a consultation. I called my Dr. who blew a gasket at them and still they wouldn't sell it so now we are at an hour still with high fever felling like i was going to pass out I had to leave and chose to go to Walgreens who actually offered to have it delivered by the manager since I was so ill and she was taking her break anyway and would be more then happy to help. It's too easy to judge these employees and location harshly. But after visiting regularly I see the stressors these people endure. A schizophrenic freaking out, customers aggravated for no real reason that has to do with the employees. People in need of medication and that's not the pharmacists fault, there's a tendency to rush last minute and expect instant fills. Most of us including myself are too lazy to scan a couple items ourselves, then get frustrated when we have to wait in a line for one guy when there's 4 open self service kiosks. This is a great 24 hour location with friendly and helpful service. It's well stocked and always open. If we want better experiences at places like CVS it's up to all of us to contribute to that, have a good attitude, stay respectful and be patient. read more

Lazy and unprofessional pharmacy... their response to a phone inquiry if they could fill a veterinary chemotherapy prescription was "bring us the physical prescription" rather than asking the pharmacist who would have said "no" instantly. Do not allow Jake Chang "traveling/floating" Pharmacist administer a flu vaccine. I went for a flu shot and now have a shoulder injury due to him hitting a nerve when administering the vaccine as per my Doctor. I have reported this to the CDC as well. Nema recommended I obtain coupons at the coupon center and he found two to three coupons that can be used with my purchase. Because of him I saved $10. This encouraged me to buy an additional item I wish all store employees were like Nema and would help customers instead of hiding valuable information that can benefit us. I didn't start having problems with CVS until really the past 4 months or so. Every time I go there, there is a new problem that comes with filling my prescription. Whether it ranges from being unable to read a prescription and needing to call a doctor to simply needing to call a doctor to authorize refills to just being backed up. The incident that really caused me to reevaluate my opinion was my most recent issue. My disabled mom had just gotten out of surgery for a broken foot. She was prescribed a painkiller from the surgeon that he called in immediately after her surgery. About 4 hours later, the anesthesia was beginning to wear off so I went to CVS to pick up the rx thinking that 4 hours was more than enough time. While waiting in line I saw not one but three customers waiting angrily for a prescription that should have been ready. I get there and the tech promises it will be ready in two min. It wasn't until I got upset 20 min later that I got the rx filled. Then we move onto the pharmacy consult. I asked the pharmacist how strong the painkiller was and she just read me the name. These problems have been ongoing and really just a royal pain. They need to up their level of service and stop hiring incompetent employees. read more

I am so annoyed by this pharmacy and will be taking my business elsewhere. I had my doctor's office call in an Rx for me at 11 AM. I called at 4 PM to confirm it was there and ready. I was told to bring my new insurance card with me. I said ok, and confirmed that if I arrived in one hour, my prescription would be ready. It was not, and in fact, it needs to be special ordered for tomorrow. This Rx is for an infection, so waiting another day is more than just inconvenient. A phone call would have been nice, right?
