I used to come to this CVS when it was still being renovated so I was interested to see how it's looking now after renovations. The store is clean and spacious with the pharmacy moved to the side. They also have a drive through now for the pharmacy so you don't have to go inside the store to get what you're picking up. I like the new paint on the outside and the heart on the top window. I had a great time coming back to this CVS now that they remodel it. It's much bigger inside now that it took over the Bank of the West that used to be there. I came to this CVS since I was in the plaza getting my car registration renewal sticker from the kiosk inside Albertsons. My dad needed eye drops for his red eyes so I came here to get it. When I walked inside, I looked at their aisle directory and saw where they had the eye care products. A worker asked if I needed any help and I told her I was just looking for eye drops so she told me where it was. The one I needed was behind a locked cabinet so I had to ask the same lady to open it for me. She was very helpful and nice. The checkout process was simple and I had some rewards so I applied it to the eye drops to get a discount. There a lot of parking in the plaza where this store is in. read more

I came to the new CVS at Balboa & Nordhoff on 9/10/25 around 10 AM to return a small bottle of Tide I had mistakenly purchased in the wrong type. I had my CVS app purchase history and the debit card I used so all the proof they normally ask for. The cashier told me they don't do exchanges but could process a return if I repurchased the right item, which was fine. But then the supervisor (Brianna) stepped in, scanned the bottle, and told me they couldn't take it back at all since this store doesn't carry that exact Tide. She said I'd have to return it at the location I bought it from basically meaning I'd have to drive back 30 min out of the way for a $7 return. That's ridiculous. CVS is a corporate chain, not a franchise and nowhere in the written return policy does it say you can only return items to the same store you bought them from. I had proof of purchase, my original card, and even would've shown ID if needed. I ended up just buying the right Tide and other items but left feeling frustrated. On top of that the new location feels smaller and less stocked than the old store next door, even though it has a drive-through pharmacy. CVS corporate really needs to clarify their return policy and make sure employees aren't turning away valid returns. read more

I'm sure this location will get an updated review from me when the construction is done, but the current state of this location is still a big factor that needs to be taken into account so I think it warrants a review in it's current form. This location is tiny. They have crammed as many aisles as they can into every square inch of that space to ensure they can get the most bang for their buck. However, this means that things are narrow and it can be tough to get around if there are other customers. And, surprisingly, a lot of staples are out of stock or close to it when I come in (cough medicine, Tylenol, etc.). Parking is also something you need to take in to consideration. Once again, because of the construction, a lot of spaces are not available for this already busy center. Most spots are going to be taken by Albertsons or the small corner of shops between the market & CVS. Because of that, I've never been able to park in front or even close to this location. I'm always 2 or so rows away. I personally don't mind walking, but it also means I can't easily get in and out of this location. So, this location is fine. It really looks like when construction is done this is going to be a huge, spacious, inviting CVS. I am just waiting eagerly for that to open up. read more

I needed hair gel for my fiancé before a trip and this location was on my way and decided to stop and get it here. First the product was not in the correct spot so I assumed it was $7 but ended up being $11. Then I get to my destination and I see someone has already opened the product definitely my fault for not checking, but cvs shouldn't be selling products like this or have a seal to it. I went into the store where a guy helped me out and I asked if he's able to look up my insurance w my SSN he said "yes" he told that same lady to do it and she said "I already told her on the phone I can't find it" so I said "u can't use my social to look?" The pharmacists at this store have been incredibly pleasant and helpful for MANY decades for us and our family. We have never had a problem until this week. The attitude of the female pharmacist on duty today 8/30 and yesterday 8/29 both in the afternoon was completely out of line. Yesterday she told us that our son's (biological male) acne medication needed an "Ipledge number" to confirm he would not get pregnant this month? She explained even though he's male (and therefore cannot get pregnant) she needed the number to fill the prescription. Fine, seems dumb, but rules are rules. She said they would hold the prescription until we got the number. We called today and got the number. Made it through the CVS gauntlet of a phone system and left a message saying "XYZ" is his Ipledge number for "XYZ patient with XYZ birthdate". Got a call back shortly after by the same lady and she asked what is the Ipledge number? We gave it to her again, she said she thought that was a phone number... not sure why, the voicemail clearly said his Ipledge number is... Then she said our doctor is doing it wrong and what did we do and he needs to fill out the form again. But she just yesterday she said she just needed the Ipledge number, suddenly he needs to be counseled and needs another form. She made a lot of assumptions and had a terrible attitude the entire time. We called another pharmacy who said as long as they have the Ipledge number it should be fine. Since he cannot get pregnant as a biological male (which we reiterated several times). So my husband is currently at this CVS pharmacy having it filled as we speak by a different pharmacist (thank you Ellen), who apparently sees that we have all the needed info? I understand confusion and needing to do things properly. But I do not understand treating your customers of 30+ years with a terrible attitude over pimple pills. I'm filing a complaint with corporate. Her version of customer service is atrocious and she should not be working with the public. read more

I've been going to this pharmacy for over 25 years so I've gotten to know most of the long-term Pharmacists and all with the exception of one, Kim, have always been pleasant and helpful. Three years ago we changed over to Ralphs pharmacy for a couple reasons. Reason one being that CVS always has long lines and a long wait. Reason two being a rude pharmacist named Kim. We all dread getting her on the phone when calling in to the pharmacy! She is ALWAYS beyond rude, unhelpful and very difficult to deal with. She has a very curt attitude and blatantly avoids taking her time to assist you as if she's in a hurry to get off the phone. It's even worse if you get her in person! She's argumentative and will initiate and engage in confrontation. I don't understand how Kim is still employed there. She sets the worst example for CVS! I just found out at my follow up doctor appointnent today that this CVS pharmacy substituted a different brand of my medication when my doctor specifically put it in the prescription not to substitute. Neither the doctor or I was told that CVS can't order that brand, they just gave me something else. Had an appointment to get a vaccine. When I arrived the tech said the pharmacist had left and either way was not giving shots - but also added it was past 5pm and was not going give shots after 5pm. Although, he did mention there were people waiting for half an hour. I use to always get great customer service at this pharmacy, I have been coming to the same pharmacy for years. But lately it is definitely not the same anymore. Some of the staff members that they have working at the pharmacy, have made my visits unbearable. I have taken the time to reach out to the district manager Angela, also the store manager Silva. I have brought to their attention that I continue to be disrespected by 2 of their pharmacists, BRIAN & KIM!! Brian and Kim are extremely rude, racist, aggressive, they go out of their way to purposely keep me waiting for medications, after I'd been told they would be ready in 15 minutes. They know that I have complained about them before, and they retaliate against me, By being more and more disrespectful every time I see them. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim and Brian are related to each other, because they both have identical poor customer service and attitudes, they are both racist, they are only happy to Give good customer service to their own race, which I have seen with my own eyes. When I came to the pharmacy today at 9:45 AM, I was told by the front store, that the pharmacy is still closed because the main pharmacist hasn't shown up yet, due to an emergency. When I went to the pharmacy to see approximately how long will be the wait for them to open, because I needed my RX today, Brian was there, standing with extremely aggressive body language, talking to me disrespectfully, telling me to go get my medications at a different pharmacy, when he knows that my medications are at this pharmacy waiting for me to pick them up. Furthermore when other customers came asking when the pharmacy would open, he spoke to them with respect, but when he speaks with me it's always disrespectful and rude. And he is always trying to intimidate me, because he knows that I complained about him before. If you're going to work at a pharmacy and cannot treat everybody with respect, then you should get another job. Eduardo and Jay-R were by far the sweetest most helpful people ive came across at cvs. I cane in after multiple attempts at cvs's to find an it i know has been tricky to get. I asked them & they actually had it in stock! They led me right to it & even found one in the back for me. They were very nice about looking & taking their time to help, as to other cvs employees at other locations usually are so rude. But here everyones very welcoming and chill. Ironically i work down the street & go to the one 2 minutes up. Nope not anymore im bringing my business here from now on. Made my new years a good one with their good attitudes. Excellent. Customer service is very nice. There pharmacy is super great. They know me and that makes you feel special. And they actually have all the pills on stock. (Unlike another CVS they tell me my prescription is ready for pick up then they tell me it's coming the next day after 4pm. That's another CVS though.) This one does not have that issue and when I went little low on my meds. They gave me a few; I just paid out of pocket. And bathroom is available n descent. Look, the store is old school. It's small. It's hidden. When my taxi gets me I tell them to go to the Albertsons. But I don't care i like this CVS. I've been with CVS over 20 years when it was Rite Aid. read more
