Meh... only shop here if it is an absolute must! Do so at your own risk, this store is a train wreck! It's next to the subway line C & E. Stopped into this CVS on 6th Ave located in SoHo had to wait for a cashier, and it's a pretty standard experience, nothing to write home about. Here's the good the location is convenient, on 6th Ave and Spring street and it appears to have late hours. The store generally looks clean and organized. Most items are easy to find. Here's the not so good: the pharmacist has got to be the worst service in NYC, service is nonexistent. You will be dead dealing with this pharmacy, please go elsewhere. The store sometimes feels unsafe with vagrants stealing, causing scenes. On Saturday morning a mature person decided they did not want to wait for the cashier to ring up a customer and stole right in front of staff. Just in shock at the audacity, to do this in front of customers. This is why everything is locked up, which can be inconvenient. Staff presence on the floor may be limited. This is a decent spot for a quick purchase like water, nail polish, makeup products, greeting cards are scarce. However, don't expect a great shopping experience or exceptional customer service. read more

Review of the pharmacy Staff is so rude. I posted a while ago about how my medications say they're ready and when I arrive they act like im crazy for expecting my medications to be ready for pick up. I think it's time to stop giving this chain my money and buisiness. I work nearby so it seemed convenient but it's not even convenient when I have to come several times a week to get one prescription. No empathy or customer service here. The red-haired female pharmacist is amazing, thorough, and kind. But there is another woman who works here who is dismissive and rude -- and hates talking to people. On Tuesday afternoon, October 14th, I asked this same unhappy pharmacist if my doctor could write a prescription that requested a specific generic brand -- because I was having adverse reactions to another. I was told it wouldn't matter what my doctor asked for. She went on to insist they didn't have any of the brand I was asking about, wouldn't have it in the future, and that I should go to Duane Reade. Three days later, I asked the red-haired pharmacist the same question and she looked in the back and told me the brand I was asking about was in stock. The other woman put me through so much stress. I understand not everyone has empathy or likes people but... she's awful. And she must be even worse to work with. read more

One star is far too kind of a rating for this establishment. I attempted to exchange a shampoo and conditioner I purchased 3 hrs prior. I picked up a different shampoo and conditioner of the same value and the cashier named MIRIO would not let me exchange even tho their policy states unopened items can be exchanged within 60 days. I asked if I can get cash back as I paid debit he said no. I asked if I can get a credit he said no. He said he can only exchange and id receive a refund in 5 days. Then told me they can't exchange cause of inventory??? Also if I was upset I could call customer service for a further explanation of the return policy. I'm not an idiot and I've worked retail for 5+ years. His condescending response and refusal to uphold his own policies is upsetting and I will not be shopping here again. read more

As many have valready mentioned the lack of inventory is what makes this location useless. The staff is great and always helpful and I honestly feel for them because retail workers take a lot of the heat. This just isn't a great location if you're looking for specific items because there's a 50% chance they won't have it. HOWEVER- They have bug spray fully stocked now and that was not the case last summer. Slight redemption for me! read more

Horrible customer service. The individual who picked up the phone at pharmacy hung up on my twice prior to speaking to me. When she finally did she was very unprofessional. Being the head of the medical department, this staff member needs retraining or should simply not be on staff. She ultimately hung up a third time without providing a name. Very rude. read more

This store cracks me up how minimally they restock items. We like to joke that you have about a 25% chance of an item actually being in the store when you go in, as their shelves are usually empty. Multiple times I have wanted an item but not urgently needed it and come back a week or so later to see if they have it yet, and the shelf is exactly as it was the week before. Disappointing as I would buy a lot from the store if they ever had the items in stock! (Everything from Detergent, to medicine, to bandaids, etc) read more

As far as national chain drug stores go, CVS is as good as any other. But it's 9pm on a Sunday night and I need to buy a small fan. In the good old days when we had local drug stores, you could go two blocks to a store packed from floor to ceiling with everything imaginable and they'd have three fans to choose from. Now I have to deal with corporate stupidity. They sell fans at CVS but only in summer. It's November so no fans. Useless. read more

While inventory may be low at times, I have to say, the staff at this CVS are some of the most hardworking, respectful and friendly staff I've ever experienced. They're always available and at the ready to help when needed, and are so welcoming every time I enter/leave the store. Definitely a breathe of fresh air. Thank you!! read more

This message is for the district leader for this store! He should be ashamed of himself for making this pregnant pharmacist work by herself!! The poor pharmacist is rushing around to answer phones, and filling prescriptions and manning the registers all by herself. I can tell she is stressed out and not to mention how all of this running around is affecting her body. This is disgusting that cvs management allowed this to happen. I'm sure the pregnant Pharmacist had no choice but to work under these insane conditions! At one point, she had 6 people waiting on line for her to pick up prescriptions but she was already doing the best she could. This is not right that management is abusing their employees like this. This company is disgusting! The shameless district leader who allowed this to happen and allowed customers to witness this ridiculous disregard of this employee's safety should be held accountable for this recklessness! my husband came in here today to buy a thermometer. all out. fair enough. we're in the age of covid. except the two of us have had a running joke for months about how this cvs is ALWAYS half out of everything they carry (even before COVID times) we also Joke about how there are never any employees around, and if anyone wanted to come in , fill up a cart of product, and walk out, no one would even notice (maybe thats why the inventory is always depleted)its like the Wild West. anyhow, today when he stopped in, he went to the ATM at the front of the store to withdraw $120. nothing came out. he walked around looking for someone, until finally he just started calling out "helloooo helloooo, is anyone there...." finally a kid comes out. my man tells him what happened, and the kid calls the "manager", Trisha . The "manager" comes out and says its not their problem, because its a third party and to call the company. my man asks for the number. they don't have a number. brilliant. I have a feeling, because of covid (and observing the way the store runs on a regular basis) the machine was never filled back up, and management was too lazy to put a sign up that its out of order, since there's no cash in it. anyhow, I don't know if CVS's are franchises or what, but whoever is in charge of making sure the stores are functioning, this is definitely the most dysfunctional stores, in general, either of us has ever dealt with , and the two of us do avoid it when we can, but sometimes it's just too time consuming to walk to the next closest drug store, which isn't very close. In the meantime I'm working on getting our $120 back by contacting the ATM machine, from the number that was on the side of the machine (which I had told my man to walk back to look for, because, you know, men...) it would have been very helpful (in addition to obvious) if Trisha the "manager" had had the awareness to point out that the number was on the machine somewhere, instead of saying she didn't have it. 161 6th avenue CVS: get your shit together read more
