CVS Pharmacy, Miami Beach
Bruce K.

At the end of the Lincoln Road Mall, this CVS has the usual cosmetics and personal care items but there is also a huge selection of beach items. Very local stuff since we are right here on Miami Beach. Towels, beach toys, sun creams, etc. As well, coolers and drinks and snacks. Don't forget that chocolate's going to melt in the sun so stick with the candies that aren't chocolate-based. [Review 10279 overall, 42 of 2019.]

This is by far the most touristy CVS you'll ever go to. They do have a lot of beach options because it's a block away from the beach. Pretty crowded and very touristy filled with a lot of foreign tourists

Big store. Lots of things in stock. Incredibly high prices, trying to rip off tourist but also doing it to locals Service is nonexistent And shoplifters are packing away things from the shelves and walking out of the store without anyone paying attention who works here or caring about it The carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned since Ponce SW Leon visited Florida In a chain of stores there's always one that is the best and one that is the worst and this is hands-down winner as the worst in Miami Beach

Clean store for it being by the beach, several checkout lanes that you can scan and I believe 3 cashiers in total. They had a great Voss sale and we purchase 59 cents bottles, can't go wrong with that! Great place to pick up cold water or beers before your trip to the beach

Cuban Breakfast: A really hearty way to start the day. I love the big blocks of crisped squeaky cheese. The hot dog like sausages were fun too. The plantains and refried black beans made it feel especially Cuban. And then nice eggs, because breakfast. Beef Meal: It felt ropa vieja adjacent with the slow cooked shredded beef and peppers and onions. Though it wasn't as bright without the different types of peppers. I got mine with moros, black beans and rice mixed together. The lady also gave me some gravy, from the beef stew, on top of the rice. I chose a side of macaroni salad. It was such a delicious lunch and (leftover) dinner! The beef itself was packed with flavor and so tender. Beef Stew: More like pot roast than the other stringy beef meal. Large chunks of beef that were dense and delicious! It came with this yellow rice that had pork, shrimp and veggies. Kinda like stir fried rice, but I don't think it was stir fried. Delicious though! And, of course, got the yummy macaroni salad again.

I became quite familiar with this Walgreens in the short amount of time I spent in town, needing a…read morefew things I had forgotten to pack. But of course I only realized it bit by bit! First a visit for sunglasses. There are any number of shops on Collins where you can buy sunglasses but I found my favorite pair here for a cool $20. I also picked up some mouthwash and antacid. Then, after trying to read a book at the beach, I realized that with my new contact prescription I needed my first pair of reading glasses (RIP my youth) so I stopped back in to check out their selection. Not bad! I got a cute pair of Foster Grants. After a day at the beach I got a little pink and needed some aloe. Popped back in for that. Each time I browsed a bit. Picked up some make up during my aloe trip, as well, thanks to their dedicated beauty area. The shop itself is a bit dingy, though the products are in good shape. It's also huge! With a bit of grab and go food available alongside snacks and even some booze. Also it's 24 hours which is a bonus! I definitely could have found most of the things I picked up cheaper if I had remembered to grab them before getting to my hotel but alas, my memory did not cooperate. So I had to take the L and the tourist upcharge. But luckily I got everything I needed!

They have luggage, groceries, produce, clothing, hats, and so much more. They know their market and audience and cater to them. The prices are incredibly inflated, but I suppose that is because you get a one-stop shop. If your time is money, you will save time and thus money by getting everything you might need here. The checkout lines moved smoothly, the cashier was friendly, and I was able to redeem some Walgreens cash I had for my small chips and toy purchase.

Got into town late and the hotel restaurant was closed. A Google search showed me Primo Cafe and…read moreMarket, one block away was still open. I checked it out and glad I did. Nice clean store with lots of drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) prepared foods, desserts and pastries, snacks as well as Sundries and souvenirs. I didn't want something too heavy and was trying to eat somewhat healthy since it was after 11:30 p.m. and I needed to go to sleep soon. I was able to order a salad that they made fresh and I'm super impressed by the size of the salad itself and all of the great ingredients inside. Especially appreciated how she heated up the grilled chicken and gave me a ton of avocado. Usually when you add avocado to things it's just a few slices but they make those avocados really big down here in Miami and I feel like she gave me almost a quarter of the Giant avocado. It tasted good, she was very pleasant and it was a very good price.

The rest of the sandwich was just really soggy greasy. The empanada I got was stale and underwhelming. Service was nice. I wouldn't order food here again, as I've seen others have had trouble with the quality of meat being bad as well. This place did have a variety of convenient items here if you forgot sunscreen or wanted an ice cream.
