I've been going to this Walgreens for the last 15 years. Arleth administer the flu shot this visit. I am prone to flu especially on the flu season as I deal and talk to a lot of people on a daily basis. This Walgreens have a convenient location, close to the beach and hotels as well. This is the WORST pharmacy I have ever been to. The pharmacists are actually great but the support staff is rude and they NEVER pick up the phone - seriously, try to call them and see how many times you get bounced back to the hold queue. I been living for a long time I am now 72 . While younger in my 20 I was asked for my ID card a lot back then I tried to understand. BUT NOW at 72 been asking for my ID is insulting. Been told " we card every one " do not help. I am a Travellers and visit many countries. I never been insulted as much as at Walgreen. Really close to my hotel right now which is clutch. But CVS up a block and a half on Lincoln is better. Here your $11 in for a 6 pack of can coronas. You will also be in $3 for a largish water. I walked out of here with a 6 pack, two medium waters and two bananas for about $22. I walked out with this plus a bottle of wine and a protein bar at CVS for $20. This corner Walgreens was about a 5 minute walk from our hotel so nice and convenient. We couldn't decide what to have for a light dinner and didn't want to go to any of the nearby restaurants so we picked up food here (and we didn't have to pay 15 or 18% gratuity and it was better service). There are a number of Walgreens within walking distance of our hotel in Walgreens and this one isn't as nice as some of the others. There's your basics but there didn't seem to be as much touristy type stuff for the beach and t-shirts as the other one I went to. I bought a sushi tray (decent for buying it at Walgreens), sandwiches, chips, ice cream, and chocolate. Yes, healthy vacation eating! There was a line up forming as the cosmetician rang us through at her till. There were a few items that we needed the rewards card and she couldn't ring it through so she walked me back to the front and the girl rang it through there. That was nice she helped me before the next customer and used the phone number of a nearby hotel so I would get the rewards price. Decent Walgreens but giving it 3 instead of 4 because it's a little smaller, and busier with only one cashier. read more

Not any better. If anything it's worse, and they are always out of everything. Cashiers blame it on computers that don't reorder things correctly. Anything halfway decent they are out of. Amy's healthy options, sandwiches, bottled water. Also the new refrigeration units with cameras are creepy and crap. Not only do I not want them taking photos of me (separate from surveillance which from what I can tell no one is monitoring due to my constantly seeing people steal from here) but they don't work. The screen shows options available when they aren't in there, so all that happens is everyone stands with the door open looking inside and letting the cool air out which I'm sure costs money. The worker said they are going to be updated to recognize us personally. I will not be returning to Walgreens if so. This place is disgusting in more than one way, and the one on 41st let's homeless people camp out literally at the front door as they beg all day and night. One guy convinced me he was desperate so I offered to buy him water or food inside and he said no he only took cash. When I said I'd buy him food or water he told me to "just get out of here". I said ok and walked away. Also, this place has no idea how to set up a line for checkout. People are always skipping each other and one cashier actually saw their friend and told him to skip to the front. His/her attitude is always crappy. Also, the same cashier and one other one as well, I always see sticking pens in their ears to clean them out right before they try to help customers. I will not let them help me. Out of all the Walgreens I've visited thus far, dare i say this one was the BEST i've been to so far. A+ for convenience for nearby hotels, and much cheaper to buy things here than at the hotel. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Great hot spot in Miami. I don't know if parking really exists for this location, but they have a steady flow of traffic from customers who purchased groceries and beach going needs here. I actually work next door to this Walgreens (at a business I will not disclose at this time)... let me tell you, this store is my and my coworker's SAVING GRACE! Open 24/7, the beverage fridge looks like disney land... brand new, shiny, untouched... The store just opened, so everything is clean and brand new. Perfect location if you are staying at the Gansevoort or the W South Beach, because its right across the street. They carry beachwear and a wide selection munchies. I'm a fan! read more

How can you call yourself a pharmacy when you aren't even open on a Sunday -- at all??! I guess people who work Mon-Sat are just not entitled to have a day off from work to run their errands and get their prescription, and of course, you better not get ill on Sunday or have some sort of emergency because you'll be SOL, huh? To make matters worse, there are no hours posted anywhere either, so you're left in the dark as to their schedule. I tried asking an employee about the pharmacy's hours and complained about them not being open, before realizing the only thing the guy knew how to say in English was "closed". When he was unable to answer my question as to their actual hours, that is when I realized my complaints fell on deaf ears because he didn't understand a lick of what I had just said. I ended up going to Google to find out their pharmacy hours, but the point is, I shouldn't have to. Their hours should be posted somewhere within plain sight (like on the metallic roll-down shutters they have on the pharmacy counter), and at the very least, they should be open 7 days a week, even if it means closing earlier on a Sunday. I am seriously considering switching my prescription to another location or to CVS, even though this location is within walking distance from my condo. I am sure my review will make no difference to the management of this store, but maybe it can save others from wasting their time trying to come to the pharmacy and finding it closed. Okay, this place gets four stars from me, based on the TREMENDOUS selection of ear plugs. Why did I need ear plugs, you might ask? Well, I'll tell ya. A $2000/night room at the W Hotel next door and the first night I slept in the damn suite, it was so loud (on the 9th floor, mind you), that I ended up cranking up the air conditioning to make some white noise in the sitting room where I stayed - without sleeping - all night. Thankfully, I did not end up paying $2000/night for the room. But that is a story for another time. Let's get back to those earplugs, shall we? Seven different types. Seven! And reasonably priced, too. Oh, Walgreens, how I love thee! They also had a fabulous selection of alcohol, but they could not sell it after 11pm. No matter. Horrible staff high prices. I was waiting in line behind a homeless person who could barely speak English. Both Cashiers decided that they needed to help her so there was only one line where she was standing. I asked the cashier if she could go back to her station and help me. They completely ignored me and decided to stand there for another five minutes and argue over $.20 while I was holding over $60 worth of groceries and medication. Then today there was one cashier in the front with eight people in line so I decided to go back to the pharmacy to pay. When I got there she was on the phone so I quietly and patiently waited. Then someone came to the consulting line. The pharmacist got to me and said oh you're only paying for stuff you can wait and then went to the person in the consulting line who didn't want to buy anything she just wanted to ask questions about moving her prescriptions over to this location. She was extremely rude for absolutely no reason. I will not be shopping there again. read more

Walgreens is my fave store EVER!! The ones in California are the BEST as the liquor store section is in the store = no 2 trips to the cash register like here in Fl. Why this is I have NO IDEA except this is FL and its a "Yahoo, backwoods" state with idiotic archiac laws. I call Walgreens the "Sugar & Salt" store because basically thats the majority of the food products they are selling. A day NOT going to Walgreens is a void in my life that I feel. OK they do have ALOT of "Made in China" garbage & the "sugar & salt" food items, but on the other hand they have the awesome Camera deal = a small compact camera for $10 and free film for life. BEAT THAT!!...Good luck because its the best deal around. I usually buy the $1 snack items they have on a daily basis = the Sante Fe mix and the Granola. The 20 oz. Walgreens Diet Soda's (wt caffine) @ .99 -.69 are good for a quick jolt and I absolutly CANNOT live witfout the .99 cent box of Wylers Pink Lemonade & Lemonade mix as I mix them wt vodka. Its the same thing as Crystal Light just not overpriced at $5 for the same thing. THis particular Walgreens (23rd Collins) might as well be a CVS though (I HATE CVS!!) because it rarely has what I'm going in for and is FREEZING COLD and sucks, so I avoid it. The others on the beach are cool so its nbd. IF I have any complaint about Walgreens other than this, its the music they play which tends to be 60's-70's off beat pop crap. Terrible store, it's dirty, its unorganized, the staff is extremely rude.... I just stood in line for 15 minutes and watched the cashier help 7 people from the line i was standing in and then their friend shows up in a different line and I'm told I have to move to the back of a different line.... not the line they just helped their friend from but the 3rd line that has formed into be store because there are no signs saying where a line is supposed to form and the staff aren't saying anything till it conveniently helps someone they know. Great way to treat paying customers, never shopping at another Walgreens in my life. This is the 3rd time this has happened and the managers just don't care at all and do nothing but give excuses for the way the employees run the store..... openly treating customers like crap and showing favoritism isn't something to give excuses for, it's something that needs to be addressed and corrected so paying customers don't have to keep dealing with terrible service read more

Any Walgreens where you can buy empanadas at 4 am has a special place in my little heart, so I picked up a chicken and a ham/cheese one. Nice Walgreens in Miami that was located right by our hotel. They had a good selection here of foods, snacks and general items. The store does tend to get a bit busy as it is located closer to the hotels in South Beach. We picked up some sun block and some snacks for the beach. Prices were about the same as other Walgreens, which is to say more expensive that most other drug stores. read more

Fully stocked, and they usually had enough employees manning the checkouts that we never waited too long. Lots of sunscreen options, and for you out-of-towners like me, they also sold wine and beer, at prices a lot cheaper than the "I Love Liquor" shops further south on Collins Ave. Be sure to stock up here, and you'll save a lot on wine (not the most impressive selection, but you can make it work). 4 stars for 24 hours! When I loved on 20th, I would walk here 2-3 times a day to get diet coke, rent movies, but the conditioner I just saw on TV, whatever....good location. Now the bad....its a "Tourist Walgreens" meaning just about everything is priced double or more than it would be a Walgreens a mile or so inland...and the pharmacy has a limited stock of controlled substances, if you need any kind of upper end pain reliever, they will send you and your prescription to a different Walgreens. read more

The pharmacy here is just awful. I worked as a pharmacy tech for Walgreens several years ago, so I know from first hand experience how frustrating the job can be. However, that is never an excuse to be rude to customers. Both the pharmacists and techs at this location clearly hate their jobs and don't bother to hide it.
