The Walgreens in 5th Street and Collins Avenue is one of the biggest Walgreens branch I have seen. This store is close to the beach, and you can buy beach items and snacks before or after going to the beach. Walgreens is the second largest pharmacy chain in the US and this branch have a pharmacy as well to get your prescriptions and medications. They also have photo center and services, beauty supplies, groceries, food and sandwiches, fruits, merchandise, alcohol and snacks. School, cleaning and auto supplies as well. I usually shop at Walgreen's online, when Slickdeals alerts me of any good clearence sale or specials. This is one of the Walgreen's that I continuosly drive to for these deals. My last find was a $79 Phillips Norelco Three Foil Electric Shaver for $14.99. Great deal for a really good product. This Walgreens is pretty big and carry a lot of items. This Walgreens is about the largest one I've been in, with 2 full floors of merchandise. Obviously since it's only 2 blocks from the beach their selection of beach items is much larger than most of this chain's other locations. We came here to grab some "adult beverages" and plastic cups on our way to the water. Their refrigerated beer selection, while very cold (a bonus!) was very limited IMO. The service at this place is terrible! The cashier had to call 2 people over to check on a price because no one could make a decision. They tried to scam me out of the price for this item, that they clearly had ticketed, because they made a mistake? And then the so called manager is talking crap about me not realizing I understand what she's saying. Walgreens is Walgreens. I can trust that they will have what I need and this store is humongous. They sell all the typical drugstore buys, but have a huge section that includes food, beer and wine and even clothing. I buy cans of sunscreen like it's going out of style and I know they will have the kind I need. I like working on my tan without burning, thank you. I don't want to pay touristy prices, so you can always count on Walgreens to be consistent no matter if you are on vacation or at home. The only thing I hate about this Walgreens is the lines. With such a big store, you think they would be able to get people out faster. read more

We were walking by and went in as I was looking for some specific chocolates. I was impressed with how big the store was with 2 floors. On the bottom floor, they have an aisle of touristy t-shirts and another with sunscreen and items you would need for the beach. The chocolate section was large with lots of variety to choose from. I was glad they also had the kind I was looking for. There's food section with frozen items, including lots of ice cream, baked goods, hot foods with empanadas, sandwiches, fruit, and more. They also have items that we can't get back home including my Cherry Coke ($2.19 for a 591ML bottle) which my husband is a fan of. I liked that there are items that are specific to having their club card and since I didn't have it they were still able to give me the discounted price. Walgreens will be my go to place if I want a snack, toiletries that I forgot at home, or want to browse for tasty treats I can't find in Canada! read more

A super large Walgreens conveniently located on Collins just a block or so over from the beach, what more can you ask for? If you can't find what you need for in this two story giant, you may not find it. Fyi the selection of souvenirs is decent and range in price from cheap to over-priced. The plus is, that if the next day you start regretting paying so much for that bag or beach towel (that you haven't used yet), you can return it to the store. I doubt that you can do that with a street vendor. I'd say that this Walgreens is definitely worth the time to at least have a look around. read more

This place just opened about a week ago, convenient location on the corner of 5th & Lincoln. Unfortunately, it caters mostly to people who are on vacation - I couldn't find any heath drinks (unless you consider VitaminWater healthy) or any frozen yogurt, just commercial Coke/Pepsi products and only the full-fat varieties of most other things, like ice-cream. There's a decent selection of chips, nuts, sweets, even some ethnic products. Huge upstairs section with all sorts of stuff beachgoers will appreciate. Empanadas are not to be missed, above-average for a Walgreens! If you want to make this place better, get some healthier alternatives on the shelves -- there's plenty of space! 3 stars for convenience and the empanadas, oh the empanadas!, which have been a lifesaver on more than one occasion when I only had 15 minutes for lunch! read more

Absolutely filthy. They currently have their stairs closed because of a "leak" - the ceiling was clearly damaged but it was dry every time I've gone in this week, and I've seen the staff use the stairs so they're definitely structurally sound - so you're forced to use the horrible elevator in the back. Very sketch, smells awful. Then today, someone pooped all over the hallway to the elevator - the employees doused it with powdered bleach and left it. We opted not to use the elevator and were screamed at by the horrible shift manager as we walked down the stairs. They sell food! It's Miami Beach, people are in flip flops! Never going back to this bleach/poop filled store. read more

This Walgreens is located at a pretty convenient location for people who are staying on Collins Ave. in South Beach. You can get your daily necessities from here, like water, sun block, and even beers. But the price is high for the beers.. a 12-pack Coors Light was like $15... One thing we did not find here was a styrofoam cooler... very useful for visitors bringing delicious cold beers to the beach nearby... :) read more

Normally I would not give something like a Walgreens 4 stars, but this location is like the mother of all Walgreens. It's huge. Two stories, and filled with everything a tourist might need. I wanted to buy bug spray and sunscreen (rather than pack 3oz versions in my luggage). There is literally a whole aisle of just sunscreen, an aisle of flip-flops, pool toys, etc. The upstairs has all of the normal things a Walgreen has, along with the pharmacy. When I visit Miami and stay in the South Beach area I tend to frequent this location. This is a vacationers paradise. Everything you need or can think of is available in this store at a decent cost. The best and biggest Walgreens I know of is in San Francisco, but this is very close. It's hard to navigate your way around this place and you can easily get lost here. I came in here around 2:30am and the cashier wasn't very helpful cause he barely spoke English. At least he knew how to ring up the cash register. read more

Have you ever been a Walgreens that reminded you of a department store? No? Well neither have I until I stepped foot in this one. I mean, its pretty big. Most Walgreens are much smaller and don't serve hot foods...that are actually tasty (spinach empanada). Luckily this joint is staffed with enough cashiers and umbrellas because there's no telling when a mini thunder shower will stike. p.s- that spinach empanada came in handy because I was on my way to Wet Willies and needed something quick to eat prior to drinking. This store is awesome. Two story building with sooo manyyyyy souvenirs and essential items for the beach. Literally you can find whatever you need. They are 24hrs open except the liquor store. Yup! The have a liquor store with the trendiest liquors from Ciroc, Henessy, Jack Daniels... and more! The also have tastings sometimes but not sure which days specifically. This store sell bags, sandals, clothing even bathing suits. There always a good vibe there. You should visit. Its like a landmark in Collins and 5th Ave. read more

I used Wallgreens travel the other week and I would air caution to anyone who would follow this. I booked onto their ride to and eight different watersports within key West for $119. What they don't tell you is that there is no communication between the tour company and the watersports company. I told the coach rep about the watersports deal I was booked onto and he had no idea what I was on about. I got dropped the other side of Key West and the taxi over was quoted at $40. Fortunately I am good at using my loaf and I found a bike rental place and cycled over for $10 but I did waste about an hour and a half sorting this out. My advice would be to check out all the fineprint when booking onto these tours the deal I got was good however I was very angry in regards to the lack of honesty. read more

I got my bandages upstairs (they got escalators) and anything you will need if you are on vacation on South Miami Beach. They have souveniers too. I wish I could give this Walgreens a better review. Yes, it's large, in a convenient location, and has everything you need.... But then I walked into the men's restroom on the second floor. OH. MY. GOD..... The first thing I noticed were the wet floors and the hole in the wall that was stuffed with toilet paper. The mirrors were vandalized with markers, and the walls had been drawn on as well. The soap bag had been completely removed from the dispenser, and the toilets were FILTHY. I was SO disgusted. I understand that public restrooms aren't always the nicest places in the world, but this was INCREDIBLY unsanitary and horrible. Hopefully it was just a bad case of vandalism and not due to constant negligence. The staff could also use an attitude adjustment. You don't have to treat anyone like royalty, especially when you're incredibly busy, but it's not that hard to maintain good customer service skills in hectic environments. I watched a customer kindly ask for a larger bag to place his items in, and the clerk sighed to herself and rolled her eyes while shoving the new bag at him. I didn't realize reaching for a different bag was so difficult that it merits potentially insulting a paying customer..... All in all, the restroom and the unfriendly and seemingly negligent staff will steer me away from this Walgreens in the future. read more

The world's largest Walgreens! Well not sure about that, but this place is simply massive and clearly the largest drug store I have ever visited. It's 2 levels with an open-level mezzanine. The selection is fantastic, pretty much anything you would need would be there....tacky miami beach souvenirs, over the counter drugs, snacks for the beach...pretty much anything. This has got to be the best Walgreen's I've visited. It has TWO (2) large floors filled with absolutely anything and everything you would need while in South Beach. Each time I have been to SoBe, I find myself strolling in here on my way to or from the beach for something. Whether it's your average Walgreen's products like hair gel, sunscreen (a whole aisle!), band aides; to "special" items you would only find in a Miami Beach Walgreens like: towels & beach hats (again... a whole aisle!), key chains and other souvenirs, more food and beverages than normal, literally the list could go on and on. It's in a convenient location, 5th and Collins, making it easy to stop in on your way to the beach or your way back to the hotel. So this is a pretty nice Walgreens. 2 stories, rows upon rows of sunscreen (which is awesome for a freckled girl). They have pretty much anything you can think of for out-of-towners. When people come visit me, this is where I will bring them if they forgot something. Check out is pretty quick. I haven't got an Rx filled here, so I can't comment on that. Friendly sales people, I think this place will put the CVS down the street out of business because the selection and customer service here is HANDS DOWN a million times better. read more

Surprised to see a 2 story walgreens. Then again i was surprised that there was such thing as a Cafe W. This is where they had Cappachino, coffee, Icee's, etc. Never seen that at a Walgreens.
