The empanadas were seriously the best I've had on the Lincoln Road strip! The service was warm and friendly, she was super helpful. They have an upstairs eating area that's just enough. This has become my go-to spot for home cooked food.

Baked chicken, Maduros (sweet plantain) and rice and peas.

I purchased some of the best chicken I've ever had in this store. It's right across the street from 420 Lincoln road Mall and I wish I knew it was there when I was a student. Very fantastic food

Marlins Market is a little convenience store on Washington Ave just off Lincoln Road. They have an assortment of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard convenience store items (e.g. calling cards, cigarettes, etc.). Usually, I visit Marlins in the morning for my cafe con leche (and sometimes tostada) fix. They also sell a variety of pastelitos. I sometimes go for lunch, where I can quickly pick up some Cuban food for a great price. For $6, you can get a small styrofoam container with rice, beans, a meat, and usually a side like yuca or maduros (fried sweet plantains). They also have a large container and I'm not entirely sure how much it costs, but the small is more than enough food. The food is tasty and flavorful. They also sell pre-made sandwiches and things (which I've never had and will probably never try, but figured I should mention for informational purposes).

I just had this amazing lunch here. white rice with black beans and stew chicken with potatoes

Bad attitude staff. Watch out and stay away from this place. They are not helpful and rude.

I absolutely love these types of bodegas that have a steam table of Cuban food for sale as well.

6-star ambience, 5-star products, 2-to-3-star service. Amazing Space Age design (we call it the…read morespace ship Publix) with the usual great Publix produce / selection, possibly occasional celebrity sightings but strangely bad service, especially for a Publix. The star of this show is the stunning architecture and design. It's very near my partner's medical practice, so I both drive by and go in this particular Publix often; so does he. It's likely the most beautiful grocery store on the planet, truly a triumph of design. It's in a very new, swanky area of M Beach, and the soaring, curved aluminum facade fits right in with the neighborhood. The clever design includes a parking deck above on the 2nd and 3rd floors, with sloping moving sidewalks instead of escalators to accommodate shopping carts. They have the usual terrific produce and an even bigger selection of staples than the average Publix. Prices are a little aggressive, but the real estate is likely expensive and there's the beach premium thrown into the mix. Added bonuses are the celebrity sighting possibilities and the floor show of fabulous types plus wannabes ("hey is that J. Lo? but that dude doesn't look like A Rod"). FYI: it was...I admit I sort of followed her around in Publix. The one fly in the ointment is the poor service. As mentioned, I go into this particular Publix often, and this is a recurring problem. It's odd, because Publix normally has abnormally good service. Small example: in the average Publix if you ask where something is, they'll more than likely take you to aisle 4 and find the shelf location with you; this Publix you get a Winn Dixie-like response of "I don't know, try aisle 4 or 5" without even a glance away from the personal conversation with their co-worker. With the cashiers you're lucky if you get a single word out of them; most Publix they get chatty, and you almost always get a thanks come again / have a nice weekend / stay safe. People pay a bit more for better/friendlier service than that at Publix.

This place makes no sense -- and I like it that way. I love the fact that there's a giant chicken…read morein the entrance. I love the fact that it's an unapologetic bootleg Latin Popeye's (down to the color scheme, sides and preparation). I don't love the fact that on more than a couple occasions, MBPD have cut their way through the line to grab whatever they want (and leave) while paying customers' orders are delayed and interrupted. But, more often than not, I love what I see and eat here. In addition to being a fast food joint, it's also a convenience store. I couldn't tell you anything about it because I've never patronized it in that sense. BUT, if you're looking for a 3 (or, 5; what? I'm a growing boy) piece dark with a (2) honey biscuit(s), red beans & rice, and mashed potatoes and gravy served the way you're used to eating in Louisiana and/or Texas at Beyonce's favorite fast food chain... well, your prayers have been answered. The service is usually curt but professional but what you get can vary with the person ringing you up. At times I've been invited to take a cold beverage from the cooler with my purchase. At other times, I've been given my change and a 'gtfu' stare/'smile.' It's not such a big deal to me, seeing as I ALWAYS get this food to go and I've found that beer almost always beats soda but if such things matter to you, I thought I'd mention it.

If you are looking for fried chicken in South Beach, this is the spot. I added this business to…read moreYelp because when I was trying to locate a good fried chicken place in SoBe, yelp had nothing. If you try to search for this place online, its as if the South Beach location does not exist. But I promise you, that as of 12-17-12 it is there and tasty. I am not sure why this place does not show up in google or on any maps, but it is always busy so maybe they just don't need any more advertising. This place is a franchise and this one is located within a little convenience store. Its on Washington near 14th on the east side of the street. It has a 6 foot tall chicken statue inthe doorway so it is kind of hard to miss. It is take-out only. No tables, no waitress, no delivery. If you are craving cheap, good fried chicken, this is best place in South Beach. Sometimes they screw up the order, after all, this is Miami. Just double check your order before you leave as they are always willing to correct any mistakes they made. Menu is just fried chicken, potatoes and biscuits. Maybe there is another vegetable option, but I've never ordered it.
