I absolutely love these types of bodegas that have a steam table of Cuban food for sale as well…read more The portions are always huge, like two meals. A very reliable choice if you're short on time. Cuban Breakfast: A really hearty way to start the day. I love the big blocks of crisped squeaky cheese. The hot dog like sausages were fun too. The plantains and refried black beans made it feel especially Cuban. And then nice eggs, because breakfast. Beef Meal: It felt ropa vieja adjacent with the slow cooked shredded beef and peppers and onions. Though it wasn't as bright without the different types of peppers. I got mine with moros, black beans and rice mixed together. The lady also gave me some gravy, from the beef stew, on top of the rice. I chose a side of macaroni salad. It was such a delicious lunch and (leftover) dinner! The beef itself was packed with flavor and so tender. Beef Stew: More like pot roast than the other stringy beef meal. Large chunks of beef that were dense and delicious! It came with this yellow rice that had pork, shrimp and veggies. Kinda like stir fried rice, but I don't think it was stir fried. Delicious though! And, of course, got the yummy macaroni salad again.

I'm reviewing this Publix specifically for their iteration of the chicken tendy pub sub. This…read morePublix deli is quite busy, between tourists and locals at the beach and we were lucky to stroll in around 11am on a Wednesday to order two pub subs with odd specifications (recommended by a friend). Despite the sandwich artist needing to go into three separate coolers outside of the normal display to get our requested sauces and cheeses, she hooked us up with quite possibly the largest sandwiches I've ever see in my life. She was in no rush to move along the line of 10 people that had formed behind us during the 10 min we waited for her to assemble our order, but I have zero complaints because they were the perfect snack for our subsequent 5 hour plane ride!!

Shopping is a pleasure for real when it comes to Publix…read more Bestie and I had beach plans and I forgot to pre order chicken wings so the next morning we walked in hoping for that fried chicken goodness. Nope, fried chicken (unless pre-ordered)does t come out till about 10 am. There was some other items we could've bought like subs or those sandwich rolls or breakfast sandwiches but we were so in the mood for their chicken. we'll they let us know the there were some tenders out in the refrigeration part. We asked if we could have them heated up. The manager came and advised they couldn't but what they could do was grab some hot ones that were in the back that were ready for subs. What a blessing she was. We got our chi ken and were the happiest people.on the beach. Thanks to that staff for looking out. They really do try to help and give other options to make sure you never walk out empty handed and you leave smiling.

6-star ambience, 5-star products, 2-to-3-star service. Amazing Space Age design (we call it the…read morespace ship Publix) with the usual great Publix produce / selection, possibly occasional celebrity sightings but strangely bad service, especially for a Publix. The star of this show is the stunning architecture and design. It's very near my partner's medical practice, so I both drive by and go in this particular Publix often; so does he. It's likely the most beautiful grocery store on the planet, truly a triumph of design. It's in a very new, swanky area of M Beach, and the soaring, curved aluminum facade fits right in with the neighborhood. The clever design includes a parking deck above on the 2nd and 3rd floors, with sloping moving sidewalks instead of escalators to accommodate shopping carts. They have the usual terrific produce and an even bigger selection of staples than the average Publix. Prices are a little aggressive, but the real estate is likely expensive and there's the beach premium thrown into the mix. Added bonuses are the celebrity sighting possibilities and the floor show of fabulous types plus wannabes ("hey is that J. Lo? but that dude doesn't look like A Rod"). FYI: it was...I admit I sort of followed her around in Publix. The one fly in the ointment is the poor service. As mentioned, I go into this particular Publix often, and this is a recurring problem. It's odd, because Publix normally has abnormally good service. Small example: in the average Publix if you ask where something is, they'll more than likely take you to aisle 4 and find the shelf location with you; this Publix you get a Winn Dixie-like response of "I don't know, try aisle 4 or 5" without even a glance away from the personal conversation with their co-worker. With the cashiers you're lucky if you get a single word out of them; most Publix they get chatty, and you almost always get a thanks come again / have a nice weekend / stay safe. People pay a bit more for better/friendlier service than that at Publix.
