I would give the pharmacy 5 stars but the new virtual phone non assistant drops my satisfaction way down- if I stick with the app and found into the store it's very good. The CVS Sharon heights always has a pharmacist available ( you may have to wait a hot minute- ) you can discuss your medications and insurance issues. If you message the pharmacy (on the app) pick your Rx and chose options, pick the RX tell them the issue , check call back and leave you number - I've been called back every time . You do have a virtual assistant and I personally hate this !! I am not sure with the new improved virtual non human you can leave a message !!!!!!!! It is a maze of promotes and not the best AI. So in store they have expanded the size of the pharmacy - which improves the staffs work environment . They work really hard back there they get 5Stars . If you use the app go in the store and have the barcode line you only need the barcode for oneRX and they will pull up all your RX's. The pharmacy for us has been great for 6 years. The old phone system was much better than this improved one. read more

The people are very nice in the pharmacy but the virtual assistant one has to use to even get to leave a message is terrible. It doesn't understand plain english and won't do what needs to be done. My doctor had ordered several prescriptions for me for some upcoming surgery. They filled all but two. I had to stand in line for pickup then in the consultation line to see why I didn't get all of the prescriptions. Then back to the pickup line only to be given only one of the prescriptions and then another one that wasn't even ordered. Still don't have the other one I will need! Very frustrating! So I tried calling to see if they would PLEASE fill the one they never filled. I had to leave a message after spending too much time with the A.I. assistant who couldn't help. I'd like to tell you a story of such appalling behavior that I am dumbfounded. My latest experience, because so many have been truly awful at this pharmacy, was my need to get a medication for oral surgery I'm having the following day. I was only picking up ONE PILL. I was charged $15! I am a senior who is on State Medi-Cal so my medications are covered. But instead of trying to help me, the pharmacist went out of his way to demean me. I had gotten the medication previously and it was completely covered. I was given no explanation why this was happening. The only reaction was a snide remark offering that I could take it or leave it! I know that pharmacies can offer a discount but I wasn't offered that. Even after I told the pharmacist that I was currently in food stamps and paying $15 for one pill was so difficult for me., All I received was a cold hard stare. I saw no humanity at all. I had no choice, I either took the medicine I needed or cancel the oral surgery I have scheduled for tomorrow. When things like this happen, it truly makes me so sad that something like this could happen. read more

The pharmacy staff at the windows in store are helpful. The automated phone service, which one sometimes needs to use, is unhelpful. No one answers the phone when you ask for a representative. This business needs more human beings staffing phones in a way that demonstrates care for customers. I am not sure what has happened here in the last year, but I get the runaround every single time I come to this pharmacy. Maybe they need a software or systems overhaul? It took 4 or 5 in-person visits to get my new insurance recognized by their system, each visit waiting in several lines to talk to different people. Today the drive through guy made me go inside to talk to someone else who was able to easily fill the prescription. It's perplexing. Just make sure you have plenty of time and patience if you have to visit this pharmacy. Oh and their drive through speaker is inaudible so I guess it's better to go inside anyway lol. read more

When you call, you get their new virtual assistant with no opportunity to use dial numbers to get to a real person or to do what you want to do, in my case to reorder a prescription. The assistant doesn't understand, even when you repeat the selections back to her word for word. This new system is a disaster. I pity anyone who needs to get to the pharmacy fast. read more

I had a long printout of CVS coupons from a transaction and decided to run back in to use them before heading home. There was a young lady behind the counter of the self-checkout (two) registers. I said, "Excuse me, is one able to use two of these coupons on a single transaction?" She responded, "Hello." I was puzzled -- did the store require her to greet everyone? Or ... was she hard of hearing? The nonsequiteur left me momentarily confused. I repeated the question. Again, she responded like an automaton: "Hello." Ok, got it ... she was being intentionally discourteous. We went through the loop a third time and I walked away. Here's my message to cashier #97 (and the store manager): This is a paid position which includes delivering information that a customer needs to complete a transaction. While I would love to have the luxury of time to make banter, I had a disabled person who was patiently waiting for me in the car. It is not my job to ply you with pleasantries. If you want to spend the rest of your life in an unrewarding position, then by all means continue with your flippant attitude. You can do better, though. The worst pharmacy ever! 3/24/22 @ 4:50pm, I took two eldery ladies to get drive through PCR covid test to this Sharon Park CVS pharmacy. We waited 30 mins even though we had an appointment. Finally, we saw a lady at the window, she took so long to search our appointment information on the computer. She gave us the kit after 10 mins waiting. As soon as she gave me the kit, she kept saying, " can you start to get the sample now? people behind you are waiting! " We haven't opened the swab yet, and they are eldery ladies! And, she is the one who took so long to give us the kit. She can't hurry us like that. Never go to this pharmacy again. Zero stars. read more

I was a former employee at this CVS. I had a medical emergency due to my mental health condition. It is in writing. I was unable to return to work because of said condition that I wish not to discuss it on a public forum, I was unable to speak to management and excuse myself. Eventually, I was terminated for not showing up to work for two days. I ended up getting my health under control and decided I would go and try to apply to work at CVS again considering my mental and physical health are up to par. I called the store I used to work for and asked for the store manager, expressed that I had a medical condition which resulted me in walking out of the location, and asked if there were any open positions that I could apply for. He proceeded to say that there where not and there were in other words fully staffed. I proceeded to call him to confirm based on the fact that there are three openings for those locations for retail staff with three different codes. I suspect discrimination towards a person with a documented disability. Transparency is key and it seems live CVS continue to fail at that. read more

The pharmacy department knows it has a glitch, where they accept appointments for 1:45 everyday and they know they take lunch until 2pm but they don't actually start giving out vaccines until 2:05, so they make unsuspecting customers wait 20 minutes intentionally every day. This shows a total lack of respect. Also they are rude. They seem gleeful to make about 20 people wait for them to open. This was on a Saturday. read more

The CVS Pharmacy at Sheron Height's services are horrible. Been using it for almost 2 years because of convenience and their no charge delivery service. However, I get notices by text, phone call and checking on their website, they are not constant. The staff is poorly trained and not friendly. This time, the staff told me that they will deliver the medication in a couple of days. So I told them that I will pick it up. Upon arrival, they told me it was delivered. However, no medication was received. The next morning I get a call to say that it was ready for pick up. Called CVS and waited 10 min and again was told it was sent out ! This has happened multiple times. Hope the new manager can train the staff better as well as be more courteous to customers or else I am changing Pharmacy. read more

Good news: this is a pharmacy Bad news: they incorrectly filled 2 of 5 prescriptions I've been here a few times, and am honestly more surprised when they fulfill an order correctly than when they don't. The most egregious issue was when they didn't fill a med and insisted that they didn't make a mistake. When I brought it to their attention, the pharmacy tech insisted that they filled it correctly. Then I asked them to check their scanned copy of the prescription, they finally realized it was incorrect. Lesson for CVS: listen to your customer and double-check your work. read more

The Pharmacy is always making mistakes. They scare me. They don't communicate very well, have poor attitudes and screw up on orders frequently. The combination of this makes me fear that they're exactly the type of people who could make a fatal error someday. I just don't trust them, which is a shame because they've got a great location and even a drive-through. The rest of the store is really good. They've got good prices, good specials and almost all of the stuff you need from this type of store. It's clean and the lines are rarely long. I wish they took Apple Pay though. read more

I like going to Longs Drugs to see what's on sale. They usually have good prices on stuff. I saw Hersey's milk chocolate in the snack size, a full bag marked down for .92c for a good size bag. Didn't buy any. Saw L'Oreal lipstick Eva Longoria star secrets Caramel Shade #704 on sale for $5.99. Very tempted to buy it, but didn't. Then I spent the rest of my time there looking through about 4 magazines before my dinner at Kaygetsu. It's in the Sharon Heights Shopping Center. There's a pharmacy inside too. read more

This store is nice and clean. However this is the first business that refused to sign me up for their membership. Since I've tried and failed to use my previous membership several times at CVS recently, I decided to just sign up again. The promotions were everywhere in the store to encourage people to get CVS membership. The lady at the counter refused to sign me up because it takes some time and there are other customers behind me. I wouldn't want to make other people wait either. I would understand if she called for a back up and sent me to a different counter right away. but she was standing there and told me she can't help me because there are other customers waiting behind me. She basically wanted me to quickly pay and leave. When I asked if she's telling me she wouldn't sign me up, she finally told me to go to a different counter(which was empty) then 'maybe' another employee can help me. A different staff(she was excellent, one star is for her)ended up taking care of the membership for me. It took a minute. I'm not sure why that lady refused to help me. She didn't seem to care when I was waiting(just me) for a while behind the gentleman who she was chatting with. But she wasn't ok to make customers behind me wait. I hope it was her first day at work(or she doesn't know how to do the membership) and I did not just experience discrimination at this CVS. read more

The pharmacists are very nice and totally competent, though the pharmacy assistants have an annoying tendency to put my medications on "auto-fill," even on several occasions, I've expressly told them to please not to. They even go as far as to call me and ask if I'd like my medications on automatic refills. The problem with the whole auto fill process is they bother my doctor, with faxes and phone calls (even doctors I no longer see). There's one employee who seems to be doing it more than others. I am perfectly capable of keeping track of my meds, I don't need them meddling and bothering my doctor to boot! I've told them to put a note in my account stating "CUSTOMER DOES NOT WANT AUTOMATIC RE-FillS, " but it hasn't helped. I don't know why they're so aggressive in this regard, but it if it continues, I'll have no choice but to switch pharmacies, which would be too bad because they're cheaper, efficient, friendlier and have way shorter lines than Walgreens, and they're far more organized than Safeway, which has both given me twice as much of my medications and half as much in another trip. While overall I think the Sharon Park CVS is the best pharmacy in the Menlo Park /Palo Alto/Redwood City area, I had an extremely negative experience there the other day. I bought a gift card for a last-minute present. I'd heard that buying gift cards is risky business since thrives use devices that read the letters while they're still enclosed in the case. The case seemed untampered with, so I bought it. As soon as I left the store, I called the card issuer to verify the balance. Expecting to hear $150, instead it was... $0.00. I immediately walked back into the CVS, not five-minutes after making the purchase. She and her co-worker, who she'd summoned, explained in the nastiest, most condescending way that there was nothing they could do. I showed them the reseat and asked for my money back, they suggested I take it up with the issuing bank. I told them I just got off the phone with them and that there was no balance! They shrugged their shoulders, no apology, nothing, it was almost as though they were enjoying my conundrum. I asked for their names and informed them in a stern but non-confrontational way, and to their credit they divulged them. I let them know I'd be leaving a Yelp review documenting what happened that night. "Maria," said "fine, go ahead." There was no compassion whatsoever, no advice on what I might try to recoup my money, just listless disdain. This is not to cast the entire CVS staff with a broad brush. I've been a customer for over 20 years and the vast, vast majority of experiences I've had there have bpositive. II trust them to administer my Flu Shot most years. I had the most unpleasant experience in this CVS today. I have lived in Sharon heights for almost 20 years . Today I went into my local CVS to pick up photos. The employee Onay could not locate the photos. I wanted to show him the order number. Onay admonished me to change my tone of voice several times. I told Onay that his words were offensive. He then walked away. Onay told me his name was Ernestimo when I asked. My daughter learned that his actual name is Onay. Rude racist offensive. The Pharmacists there are very competent and efficient but one person in particular ( Asian male) has the strangest habit of announcing in very loud voices what medication every customer is picking up. He does it every time I'm there to pick up medication or to shop. He has a very loud voice so it's hard not to hear him if I'm in the nearby aisles. Sometimes he even adds colorful comments here and there about the content of the medication. He appears to have no empathy for the patients and likes to make fun of their misery. I'm sure no one wants to take medication if our body can help it but sometimes humans get ill and rely on medication. He IS a pharmacist after all and should understand the basic principle after all of being a pharmacist. Didn't he learn from the pharmacist school that patients medication list is a privacy matter and he can't just announce it for everyone to hear? There's a reason why this CVS has such low ratings. Bought a 48 pack NyQuil/DayQuil only to realize it expires in less than 4wks. Upon returning less than a day later the manager only gives "sale price" over $10 less than what I paid. My extra care option offered 40% off on any non sale item. This item was regular price for one with 40% off of the second if you bought two. My friend and I have been looking for a skincare item that has been out of stock at all drug stores for the past week. We came to the Sharon park cvs location three times and every time we were told that the product was in the back but not on shelves yet and that we should come back the following day. On the fourth day, Gabriel Gonsavles was the first employee to make an effort to help us look for the product while maintaining a very kind and welcoming demeanor and still helping other customers in the self check out line. I didn't want to fill my Rx here because I had a bad experience here a few years ago. I usually go to the Menlo CVS on El Camino where the service has always been excellent, but the El Cam CVS was out of this new Rx so they called it into the Sharon Park store so I could get it asap. But Sharon Park appeared to charge my VISA twice & said I had to wait 48 hrs. & then call VISA to correct it myself. They refused to simply void the whole sale & start over. Not only was the Manager rude (tho his Asst. Mgr. said they'd made the error), but he accused me of racism when I objected to the double charge. He was Hispanic, the Asst. Mgr. was Indian, the Pharmacist was Chinese. Not unlike the racial mix in my own family. I tried to tell him that the racism charge was out-of-line & to stick to the problem at-hand. BUT I shouldn't even have had to say that. This issue was a simple VISA double charge error. He made it very ugly. read more
