Great pharmacy experience here. Was getting surgery and planning ahead to help reduce the errands and nonsense spouse would have to undergo. I am not on any prescription medications and couldn't remember the last time I had purchased maybe an antibiotic. I went to the counter simply to provide my information and make sure spouse could pick up the pain medication so I wouldn't have to suffer after surgery. I signed up for text message notification, and online refills and anything else to make it easier. I woke up in recovery, had the hospital staff call in my script and 20 minutes later, I had a text it was ready. This before I even got in the car to go home. I do some shopping in on an irregular basis. It has a good selection of seasonal items. There's nothing I buy here on a regular basis. I haven't noticed that their staff is rude. Usually if a line develops, they're intelligent enough to call more cashiers to the front. read more

Typical CVS store. Nice and clean. Right next to Giant so comparative shopping is easy. Recommend browsing. Not surprisingly you'll find stuff cheaper at Giant, but then again, they've got some cool stuff you won't find at Giant. I enjoy browsing the seasonal aisles. read more

Could I give no stars? This place is a joke. Prescriptions take FOREVER - and I still don't have mine one hour after arriving here. Took the pharmacy 20 minutes to figure out how to enter a simple prescription into the computer even though I'm in the system; now it's 40 more minutes and it's not ready. The same 5-6 customers have been waiting for the same hour. It's not busy - these people are incompetent. It makes me wonder if they even know how to fill prescriptions the right way. rude, slow, impatient and those are then nice words I have to describe this CVS. I actually had a cashier as me if "I can afford all of that" when I picked up Halloween candy for my office- CANDY! The pharmacy is awful- they had me and my toddler wait over an hour for a prescription then when I asked what the status was they said oh we sent you a text. Not only was I sitting right in front of the pharmacy they could have just told me, but I also didn't get a text. This was medication I had to give my kid that evening that was urgently called in by the doctor. They denied a CVS gift card saying it was empty and when I made them wait while I called it in in front of them magically they got it to work. Don't go here. This is literally the slowest, most incompetent pharmacy I have ever been to. I've been to many other CVS pharmacies and I can't say I have ever waited more than a minute or two. Here the wait was over 20 minutes today, and that was with a full complement of people staffing the counter. Note to CVS: the line at the pharmacy should never take longer than the line at the front of the store. I note that there are a significant number of elderly people who use this pharmacy, my assumption is that they were likely in their prime when they got in line. Look here people, If you need a Rx refill and don't want to wait in the store just go to CVS.com and refill it on there and it gets done faster and you can pick a time you want to get it. And we are 24 hours so if the line is long just go later at night to pick it up. && Just stop complaining about hour our Pharmacy is slow and they don't care, they have million Rx's to fill and they do care and they want to help. So if you think they are bad go to another CVS that aren't not nice to you and don't go out of there way for you to keep you healthy. And Why am I writing this like I work there because I do and it's frustrating to hear you guys complaining about how we don't care or we look miserable. I had the BEST pharmacy experience EVER last night. It was my first time here since I usually opt for pharmacies at grocery stores so that I can shop while I wait without getting bored. (I can't live off of milk, gummy bears, and snuggies from CVS) Boy was I wrong. The BF has been coming here for years and he finally peer pressured me into dropping off my prescription there even though I was in a rush. The pharmacist and tech greeted us right away and they were SO friendly and efficient. (I think one of their names was Heather) Since it was my first time there, I thought it would take a long time to get me into the system and to get my meds. I was in and out in under 5 minutes!!! I didn't even get a chance to play in their Halloween aisle. I had a lot of questions about my new medication and they were knowledgeable and patient with me. Yes there was a line but it seemed to move quickly! I will definitely be back for all of my medical needs :) TIP* They also have Flu Shots here! read more

Have never encountered worse customer service at a CVS. I will not return to this location after being thrown my receipt and told "you don't know your phone number apparently" by the register lady. I got prescriptions there 4 times already, no insurance change, but every time when my doctors send a new prescription there, I was told by CVS staff that they don't have my insurance info when I pick up, then they make a copy, then next visit, the same thing. The pharmacy staffs at mclean location have never been helpful, never been friendly even when I was the only customer there, they never have the patience even is they made a fault. It appears that one staff is not capable to read and understand their own document print out. It is shocking that this CVS locates at this super expensive town, yet offers the worst services compare with other CVS locations, ie. Rockville or Alexandria. Hopefully, there will be a walgreens soon, so we don't have to deal with this CVS ever!! read more

This is my first time turning in disposable camera film here. I turned in my camera on October 20, and I still haven't gotten a call back yet. I am very upset about this. Every other CVS I went to gave me my film in a matter of three weeks. I am very disappointed with the service here! read more

As others have mentioned, the lines are frequently incredibly long here. Tough to fault the business for being busy. What I can't tolerate though is that every time I have been here I have found the staff to be inefficient and often rude. Frequently, they have a hard time finding my prescriptions and then just default to "your doctor never called it in" when in fact they just can't find my record. Today was the last straw, after waiting in hold for 10 minutes, the pharmacist picked up, said hello and hung up. When I called back, she said my prescription was not called in and I was taking her time away from filling other orders. I explained to her I had just gotten off the phone with my doctor again who confirmed they called in the script. The pharmacist checked again using my previous prescription number and said she found it but the reason it wasn't located was that my phone number was not on file. That was not true. She told me to come back in in an hour and when I said I needed it sooner she again told me I was wasting time and keeping her from her work. I will never be back here again. I tried to write to CVS to let them know what happens at this location but no response yet. read more

They left me on hold for half an hour and didn't answer my calls. Horrible. I had to miss a day of my prescription which is not okay.

Expect to spend the majority of your life here waiting. The people are nice enough but they are either terribly mismanaged or understaffed. Find somewhere else to fill prescriptions unless you really love standing in long lines at all hours of the day. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worst pharmacy I've ever been to in my life. Rude, unprofessional staff. Long lines (be prepared to wait 1.5 hours or more without apology.) The pharmacist argued with me about having terminated insurance even after I showed my card was not the same as the information that was on file. After the back and forth I ended up having to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed from my insurance company. I also called to clear the error and was on hold for 1 hour. This review is so low because of the pharmacy. The pharmacy is a NIGHTMARE. They are extremely slow and incompetent. They did not apply my insurance to any of my medications at check out and then made me stand in a separate line to do so and then FINALLY go back to the long check out line. It took me about 45 minutes to pick up one small prescription that had been called in two days prior. Never again will I go there. I've switched to the Rite Aid. It's so much quicker and is all new due to a renovation! The CVS itself is fine. It's a standard CVS and carries a wide array of things. read more

Very poor unorganized service ! This is only last Eight months. After a back Surgery I got to use several medications for high blood pressure and other medications for thyroid Acid reflux cholesterol and several vitamins and minerals. My blood pressure after the operation was hard to control so the doctor started to change the dose into higher or lower with the three high blood pressure medications. as well I am diabetic and found myself have to monitor my chlucose more than once per day. the Employees at CVS, McLean VA got confused and every time I need new dose they relate it to previous dose as refill means the new prescription is ignored or they count how many tablets left in old prescription and add it to new prescription ... etc due to their wrong reporting to insurance company every medication refill is delayed or . Every time I have a new medication they question it. Today I have to wait more than hour for them to explain right to insurance. Every generic medication is now priced at $30 from me. Brand medications has doubled in price while our President is trying to reduce medication prices. read more

Terrible service. I stopped using CVS pharmacy years ago, but decided to give them a chance since they're close to my house. I dropped off a prescription last week which needed to be special ordered. The gentleman promised me it'd be in by the 14th. I finally called on the 16th, and it hasn't even been ordered yet. I now have to go for four days without a medication I need. I called to complain to CareMark and their advice was to 'sign up for our recurring order program'! Why on earth would I trust them again or give them my business. I love the minute clinic. They get five stars for quick professional efficient service. The pharmacy gets negative stars. Constant delays and confusion. I had a bad experience at this CVS. The Cashier that attended me was very rude. I wanted to use a coupon on my purchase and before she even scanned the coupon, she said it would not apply, turns out it was applicable. I would give this place a negative rating, but I feel bad for the human beings employed here. The Pharmacy is the singularly worst pharmacy in the DC area. There is ALWAYS a line at the pharmacy. Doesn't matter what time of day. Pharmacists do their best but they are understaffed. The management here seems oblivious to making sure all the pharmacy registers are being manned when there are people in line. I have stood in line for 15 minutes before to pick up a prescription with only one register open. Ridiculous. If you can avoid this place, do so. I place a order online when I went to pick It up at the store the gentlemen at the photo department tells me the order is not there, that it was sent to a vendor. Cvs Pharmacy is the slowest pharmacy when it comes to picking up a prescription. On top of it -- a few weeks ago, a employee yelled at me because I asked a question about insurance coverage. They were so backed up they had a man who normally stocks and occasionally helps the front register. People stared but no one said a word and I'm referring to the staff that works there. This store is pretty much a nightmare every single time I go in. The lines for the pharmacy are always super long and you pretty much have to set aside an hour just to pick up prescriptions. pray you never have to call the pharmacy. The pharmacy will keep you on hold for 30 plus minutes and when they finally answer they are rude. I have been in the cvs and watch them pilot calls on hold while they are just standing there talking. The only reason I still go there is because I like CVS as an overall company. read more

Photo service is worst. I took my kid here for passport photos early morning hoping to get the photo ready with all the documents. When I arrived at the passport center, they said the photo is not standard. It is too small. We had to take the new one at the center. We made a trip back telling them the pictures cannot be used for the passport. It is invalid. We asked for a refund because we could not use it for the passport and had to pay to take the new ones. We ask if we can keep them anyway because they are our kids pictures and CVS will throw them away anyway. The manager said no, they will just offer refund. It is not a good service mind at all. I think they should pay for our time and gasoline to drive back as well in that case. read more

This is a TERRIBLE CVS pharmacy. They used to be decent, but within the last few weeks, they've changed some staffing and now it's awful. They have a new pharmacist and new manager, with new "rules" (that aren't even legal), and they made it so difficult for me to get my prescription filled. They are now saying they can't fill my prescriptions anymore since my prescriber is out of state - regardless of the fact that I meet with her constantly on Skype and FaceTime. It's so difficult to find the right therapist and psychiatrist, so no, I do not want to spend months on end trying to find a new one that is close to the one I currently have. I'm amazed at how rude they were to me and how they didn't even try to understand my situation. I would highly recommend going to a different CVS or better yet - a Rite Aid! read more

Save yourself the headache and avoid this awful CVS Pharmacy at all costs. The pharmacy is a nightmare, and has been for years. I'm not sure why they haven't taken any steps to improve it... The lines are so long and the wait is SO slow. The pharmacy employees might tell you that the wait will be "just a few minutes," but expect at LEAST 15 minutes. They are (for the most part) unhelpful, inefficient, and rude. I'd recommend going anywhere else instead. McLean Pharmacy and the Medicine Chest come highly recommended and are just around the corner from this CVS. There's also a pharmacy in the Giant right next door. Frankly, even if you have to drive across town to get to another pharmacy, it's still probably faster than going to this CVS. read more
