It's okay but much more crowded than the other location in downtown Falls Church. Parking is annoying at least you're in a huge shopping center so there's plenty of parking if you're willing to get a few steps and walk a bit. They always seem to be understaffed so pray to your favorite diety if you use the self check out and need a staff member to assist you when the (frequently glitchy) system has an issue. You might be waiting a long, long time for someone to come. I'll go here if I'm nearby and really need something but the other location on Broad is better if you have a choice. read more

So unfortunately this is mostly beyond the control of CVS, but--this shopping center is under major renovation as of mid-2020. Parking is limited, construction crews are directing traffic, and the entrance to the store was a hassle to get to. I needed to go to the drive-up pharmacy for a covid test (the several day turnaround test, I was not sick or in a hurry). There were seemingly no visible signs indicating how to get to the drive-up window at the back of the store. The regular drive-up path was blocked by construction. So I walked in the main entrance, and an employee explained that I had to drive all the way to the edge of the shopping plaza, through the back of the stores to get there. I slowly weaved around several employees on their smoke breaks, and I still almost missed the tiny lane for the drive-up pharmacy. Once I checked in, though, the process was straightforward and the employee who helped me was courteous and professional. The whole thing was a hassle. CVS can't control the construction, but they could have better signs. I'll plan to avoid this area until the construction is done. There are many other CVS locations nearby. read more

BE AWARE THEY WILL DENY A RETURN WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. I purchased various bandages for post surgery care prior to my scheduled surgery. In order not to have to drive after surgery. Didn't use all bandages and wanted to return the unopened/unused items. Also, all items were the CVS brand and original condition. My error, I did not have the original receipt. Told them store credit was fine, nope. This review is on CVS policy and their customer service call center. CVS has the worst customer service center that offer no assistance real assistance. You call to give a transaction number and for them to tell you it's denied, but no reason for the denial or how to resolve the issue. In addition, the individual hung up while I was in mid-question. DO NOT SHOP AT CVS. It is obvious they are looking for ways to keep your money instead of working with your customer. Wish there was a option to give negative stars read more

I don't know why everyone is complaining so much about the Pharmacy. They're overworked and understaffed...they're doing their best. All the people I've dealt with over the past three years had been helpful, patient, and kind. I have memory issues, so sometimes I have to call back and ask the same question. If I happen to get the same person, they are always gracious when giving the answer again. read more

The people working at CVS are great - it is just that the store policy is to normally have NO staffed checkouts. How can Trader Joe's make money AND have checkout people available? Very busy CVS, the pharmacy is severely short staffed. Long lines, phones always ringing, a busy drive thru, consultations, and people cut lines because it is not clearly marked where you should be. While I feel awful for the overworked staff, I have no reason to put myself in this miserable situation. I moved about a year ago and started to use this CVS then. While the CVS I used to go (Cedar Ln & Park St.) was full of courteous and friendly people, this 1150 West Broad CVS is full of persons that in all positions from cashiers to the pharmacy make a point to be openly disrespectful. That speaks very pootly from its managent. Today 8/22/18 at the pharmacy Yasmin told me I was making her waste her time. I thought we, customer were her priority.She was even proud and unapologetic when I told her the way she comunicated and that it was poor customer skills. She could have guided me to do something in a respectful way. I think that in the future I going to use the one in Cedar Ln even if it is father out. read more

Absolutely awful. They took twenty minutes per car for a Covid test that should have taken 5. They were rude and unprofessional. A clerk named Noheen was genuinely awful. I travelled to VA from GA for a long stay of 2 months. My GA CVS texted me about a refill of my medicine is ready to be picked up; but I am in VA. No problem, I called the CVS on Broad St., and the Pharmacist or staff there spent some time looking up my record in the System, and successfully transferred my medicine to here, and I picked it up in the next hour. Though the wait over the phone (to get through to the Pharmacy) is long, but I managed to get my refill in time without a gap. The CVS at Birch & Broad has been my neighborhood pharmacy for the past 2 years, and the whole pharmacy team is fantastic. Each team member I have interacted with has been kind, understanding, professional, and caring. When filling prescriptions, they have gone out of their way to understand my options, have expressed empathy when the co-pay is higher than expected, and tried to research alternatives. Parking still sucks here, but it's usually the CVS I go to, since I pass by here everyday. Inside can be a little tight and disheveled, but overall not too bad. I've refused to use the photo lab here based on my previous visit and as such things go a lot more smoother. Also bumping up this rating because of the drive-thru window as Felix mentioned...which has benefits for parents of sick children who'd rather leave the children in the car rather than shocking them with the icy winter air. read more

He told me to come back at 2:15 I came back at 2:11 they told me we said 2:15 so I went to the back of the line it was 2:15 when I got to the front then he said 20 more minutes. The night shift pharmacist has the worst customer service I've seen in a very long time. Rude and loud from the beginning. Talking so fast and aggressively you can barely understand what he's saying. Became even more verbally aggressive when their broken down payment machine wasn't working properly. The signature pen is broken in two pieces and badly tapped making it difficult to sign and to top it off the screen is in such a bad shape you can't even see the signature box. He kept screaming at me for not being able to sign on their broken down machine. Can you imagine if at some point a customer with bad depression has to pick up their meds and deal with this person? He clearly is not thinking of the consequences of his actions. Really, ask your manager for extra customer service training or perhaps some anger management help? read more

I've been coming to this location for many years, just because if the fact that its in my route to and from work. I went in there today for some last minute snack items, and I was pleased to find that they were still open. The pharmacy however was not and that was understandable. There seemed to be many people coming in and out if the store, because I think there was a nearby fireworks display. The two employees who were ringing people up, appeared to be right on the ball, and there was literally no line to the register. Anyway, I always use the self service check-out. The problem is the rebate card for which you can also use your phone number, was impossible for me to retrieve. I've had the rebate card for years, even when I had a previous phone number. I could never figure out a way to update my account with my new phone number, and unfortunately the old number was lost. I guess that means that I lost all of the points that I had accumulated? They should update that system to ay least enable email account status information. read more

I went into this CVS to buy pregnancy tests. I checked out at the pharmacy counter and the pharmacist (a woman) asked for my date of birth. I told her what it was (I'm 24) and she didn't say anything else. I then asked her "Does someone have to be at least 18 to buy a pregnancy test?" and she replied "yeah". I responded saying "That is ridiculous. I know you don't make the rules but wow" and she just kinda half smiled and chuckled...I took it as her agreeing with me, but today I googled minimum age to purchase pregnancy tests at CVS.....and I couldn't find any info on it. I am confused and honestly enraged. There's no minimum age to buy condoms but someone has to be at least 18 to find out if they're pregnant?? I'm going into this CVS tomorrow and asking to speak with the pharmacy manager. I'll update this review after! read more

CVS is standard across the board. So far, after diving into them in NY, DC, VA, MD, and other locations, I'd say that everything is pretty much par for the course. The only variable is how much of a dick can the cashier be or how little English can the pharmacy assistant speak (not the pharmacist, mind you). All harshness aside, I usually come here when I'm about 6 inches from death looking for any sort of remedy or other poultice that will exorcise the demons from my lungs, stomach, colon, etc. when the skeletal bastard in the black robe is trying to make an early visit. If there is one thing I can count on is consistency - variety and high prices. But at that moment, I usually don't give a rats @$$. I love you CVS. About as much as any man loves a prostate exam - he hates the pain he goes through but recognizes the value of it in the end. read more

I realize that this is a CVS and they are all fairly similar. However, the service at the pharmacy inside this CVS is weird and somewhat hostile. Simply due to the convenient nature of CVS, I went back even after the first few bad experiences. I don't think I'll be going back again, unless I somehow develop long-term amnesia that only affects the area of my brain that thinks about how much I don't like this CVS pharmacy. Example 1: The pharmacy techs will for some reason always assume I don't have health insurance and then go into a long spiel about how the medication I am buying will be too expensive. As I am waving the insurance card at them. And CVS has me in their system. Regardless of the fact that it ain't no business of theirs how much I spend on anything ... Give me the dang nasal spray. It's hay fever season for crying out loud. Example 2: The pharmacist told me they couldn't fill a prescription because I have the same last name as the prescribing doctor, and it is against the law to dispense medications that are prescribed to a suspected family member. (I have an extremely common last name.) Then she proceeded to holler out the name of the prescription I was taking. It wasn't an embarrassing drug, but still -- HIPAA anyone? Does HIPAA not apply to CVS? The only laws applying to CVS are obscure laws preventing "same surname" patient/doctor relationships? Come on now. I would provide more examples, but you get the picture. You've been warned. I will still visit CVS for the regular store because ya gotta love those CVS points. But the pharmacy is just not good. read more

This is a CVS. It is much like every other CVS. This one is, I'd say, a mid-sized one. I live close and am on foot, so I go here often- and spend way too much money here. It IS a bit expensive to buy a lot of necessities here. I've not used the pharmacy (yet), so I can't vouch for that. The people working here are either very friendly, or kinda rude. There is a lack of meat-less frozen food (for emergency vegetarian meal situations). The sugar-coated CVS brand gummy worms are EVIL and TO DIE FOR. All in all... it's a CVS. (Edit: they moved everything around as of Fall/Winter 2008. Maybe I'm a retard- it's highly possible. But, even now that I should be used to it, it seems harder to find stuff. I came there today(Oct.15 2019) just to walk around and search for deals. However the coupon machine didn't work. I asked a staff but she emphasized she just checked it 2 mins ago and didn't want to check it again for me. She was so angry and blamed me while Im still explaining. Although the parking is always horrible the pharmacy staff is amazing. I have moved out of state and needed a prescription filled. The local pharmacy in Florida just said, "sorry I can't find the prescription." I called falls church, my old pharmacy, and I gave my last name and the gentleman was able to recall my first name and took the time to find the script and saved the day! This is a chain pharmacy in a large city outside DC and the staff give it that small town mom and pop feel but the way they invest in you! read more

This CVS pharmacy provided one of the poorest and least professional experiences I've had in years. In short, I will not be returning to this location again for even a packet of mints. I have taken the time to tell the story below, for anyone wanting a detailed explanation. After sustaining an extremely painful injury requiring surgery, I was prescribed a narcotic pain reliever and anti inflamatory medication. A few moments after dropping the order, one of the pharmicists called me up to the check out area and had questions concerning 2 different prescribers listed on my orders. I explained that one was from the Surgeon and the other was from his physicians assistant. (I am not accustomed to pharmacy business as I rarely need their services, but I would imagine this is not a terribly rare occurance) The response I was given was one of suspicion. In a rather dismissive tone, I was told to sit back down as someone needed to call and verify the order was legit. (I do realize people forge prescriptions, so I understand some level of caution) The 'issue' was resolved and I chalked up any perceived tension, to her having a stressful day. I thanked her and left. Exactly 5 days later, I returned with a paper prescription from the same Dr.'s office containing the same medicines as earlier. As I sat down the exact same employee as before called out to me - this time over the counter from further away and with other customers near - and reminded me she just filled this for me a 'few' days ago and asking me why did I need more? As if that is in any way related to her job duties ( FYI the amount and prescribed usage added up to exactly 5 days worth and every other Dr. order had beem followed as directed.) There was nothing out of the ordinary, from the Dr.'s original orders, yet when I attempted to explain this I was met with more of the same unprofessional response. Finally the employee started to give an opinion on what dosage I shouId have been prescribed, of course without even the slightest knowledge of my condition or situation. Mid conversation I retrieved my refill orders and simply left. Bottom line, any second guessing on Dr's orders should be done on the phone with the Dr's office and not directed to the customer and certianly not in front of an audience. If any problem exists at all, it should not be taken out on the customer. Also, as someone else's post mentioned, the patient does not need tour opinion on what they are taking. Leave that to the Dr's please. read more

Terrible pharmacy. Once, they left me at the drive up window for 45 minutes on a Friday night, waiting desperately for my pain meds. They claimed my doctor never called it in. Turns out, after they LOOKED for it, they found it - in the computer and never filled. At the same time, they mysteriously found part of a previous prescription they apparently didn't have, but never told me they didn't have, never told me to come back, and wouldn't refill my prescription when I ran out (early). This is just one story. I switched to another pharmacy despite the convenience of this CVS. read more

Like others, I usually go here for allergy/sickness products. Sometimes for cards. Their selection is decent, but not too much, so if you're a guy and you need to get a card, it's not a bad place, because of the limited options. The biggest plus of this CVS is the fact that its open 24 hours, so if you're really in a jam, it's a good last resort. read more

I go to this pharmacy all the time because it is the closest and most convenient. The speed of service is decent but the male pharmacist who is always at the drop off counter could not be any more unfriendly. Always grumbling and making comments about your prescriptions - no one cares what he has to say, just fill the prescription! I overheard him tell a customer once "Oh, you must have some problems to get this prescription..." Really? Does the customer need to hear this? The other pharmacists who work there are actually quite pleasant and friendly - what a true neighborhood pharmacist should be like. I'm sure the customers who frequent there would appreciate a little more tact and professionalism. I've visited another CVS near Microcenter off Route 29 and they a lot more helpful and much more customer oriented - if only they were closer, I would have already switched. read more
