This location despite its area, is quite laid back. You almost forget you're just a few miles out of DC. Parking is a cinch. There's a lot of spots. Also pharmacy staff are super too. Have always found filling one here so easy. The store is clean and organized. To be saavy hit them up with both coupon and sales times. That's when it's most effective. read more

Very disappointing experience at this location. With the use of AI it's even harder to get in touch with a person at the pharmacy. I needed to find out if this pharmacy carries a certain vaccine and called them. Finally made through AI after 3d call to be met with a person who didn't want to help and get rid of me. They didn't even try looking up this vaccine just asked if it was for COVID. I said no and the person said they don't have it and to go to minute clinic and call them. But you can't call minute clinic directly. I made an appointment with a minute clinic and they said they don't have the exact vaccine but pharmacy should have it and they also charge $50 to administer it and not sure if my insurance even covers it. So I was sent back to the pharmacy. The pharmacist didn't even try looking for the vaccine and said she doesn't have it. I showed her that online it is showing it's in stock in this location, she checked and found it. And I was finally able to get this vaccine administered. read more

Worst AI I've ever talked to. Could never talk to a human. Trying to update my insurance and overide the Medicare Coverage D which I've never had and use Tricare. Tricare (express script) over rided the insurance, but I could never talk to a human to make sure they could see this in the system. I'm trying to get Paxlovid for COVID. 8/15/22 On this paturlar day, I came here for a snack for myself and my wife, but found nothing we wanted. Well, I saw something for me, but if it is not for the both of us, it doesn't work. I met two women trying to get money for Africa Children in poverty. They happened to be right outside of the CVS Pharmacy. For some reason, "scam" shouted in my mind. More importantly, I didn't wish to have my card number on paper with a bunch of kids being able to look it over at any given time. I gave them some cold Gatorade and thank them for the effort, but did not donate anything. Another person might have been drawn in, but not me. I will find other ways of helping people in need. The worst. Would give zero stars if that were an option. Took 1 week to get a script filled. Each time I called I got a different answer. Finally went to this store despite it being 15 miles from my home to get the pharmacist to do something to get it filled. A simple 30 second call to another cvs was all it took her. Mohammad didn't want to give me my son's script because my last name differs, despite my name being on the account, the health insurance being in my name and looking at my drivers license! This is beyond ridiculous. CVS and this store should be ashamed. I'm sure they aren't. Store also messy with bare shelves in some places. read more

This is an average size store that is very busy as a very tight parking lot is around taken a lot a parking space. very helpful staff and they are very knowledgeable. The store has is average on overall cleanliness. The pharmacy inside is the biggest I have ever seen and with long lines at each of the counter openings. The absolute worst pharmacy in McLean!!! I would highly recommend walking right next door to Giant pharmacy where there are friendly, organized , helpful and operate the way a pharmacy should conduct medical business. There is always a huge line for prescriptions, and although the pharmacy techs work hard clearly they are understaffed. I was there to pick up my cough medicine Rx and the very judgmental nasty woman administering flu and Covid shots loudly said they no longer carry it. Why the hostile attitude? I have no idea. I'm picking up a mouth rinse the bottle is literally sitting right there in eyesight and Mrs jones with attitude tells me will be 30 minute wait I say it's right behind you she goes it's a process. Well from the get go have your system correct especially when medication was called in yesterday and you guys literally find the script right in front of my eyes and missed to fill it. Instead apologize to the customer for dropping the ball and forgetting to fill in the prescription and making it right by not making me wait another 30 minutes when it's right there and you can hand it to me. doesn't take that damn long to fill in a simple mouth rinse that's already premade!!! Pharmacy review. Needed a one time scrippie transfer over the holiday. Spent tons of time on hold and they never picked up the phone. I called CVS' main 888 help number and they hung up on them! CVS corporate really needs to look into this location, as I appear to be another in a long line of people saying that they don't answer the phone. Corporate then had to call the front of the CVS so they would tell the pharmacy that corporate is on the phone. Hopefully corporate takes note of this and does a Glengarry Glenn Ross on this location. read more

CVS Pharmacy has really improved their customer service. My most recent visit to pick up a prescription was surprisingly quick and easy. They have signage everywhere to encourage social distancing, they're offering complimentary hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes, plexiglass guards are used as a barrier, and they no longer make you sign for your prescription. I'm happy to report they're taking the pandemic seriously! read more

I went in early Saturday morning, when it was just open, and the floors by the pharmacy were dirty, littered with paper and other detritus lying around, right by where they giving injections as well. There was no sign of anyone except the short-staffed counter people, as I waited on the usual extremely long pharmacy line. My wife and mother-in-law needed some inoculations and I convinced them to go elsewhere because who knows what else they don't clean. They went elsewhere, and told other family members and friends. I/my family have been going to this CVS since I was a toddler. It is my regular CVS pharmacy to fill prescriptions. Most of the pharmacy associates, when you interact with them in person in the store, are okay to very good as well as pleasant. However, this pharmacy's phone services are abysmal and unprofessional. The pharmacy staff regularly never answer the phone, allow multiple calls to stretch into ridiculous wait times (today I was on hold for two hours before being hung up on and also on hold for several other call attempts for over an hour and a half), and hang up intentionally on customers. Absolutely ridiculous. Yes, the pharmacy is "busy," but this doesn't excuse absolutely terrible customer service or rather non-service. In addition, always double-check your prescription is correct and has the correct amount of medication. Multiple times this pharmacy has messed up prescriptions. This CVS pharmacy (or the regional, corporate offices need to make it) needs to get its act together. read more

This location seemed to be somewhat better than most of the other locations in downtown DC. I can't speak for the pharmacy however, because I only came in to purchase a couple of grocery items and a Red Bull. I will say that I have been quite pleased about the weekly coupons that I have been getting, and they really have been useful! One thing that I did notice about the beverage cooler, and the section that had the Red Bulls in particular. It was all in dissaray. There were cans just sitting at a the bottom of the cooler, where someone had apparently thrown them back inside did the drink cooler without putting when in their property place. Secondly, the actual Red Bull selection was sparse at best. The only flavor that I saw was Blue. In years past they had all kinds work flavors, like orange, blue, kiwi, and yellow! I have yet to find a a fully stocked location, and I realize that it's probably not the fault of the store. read more

The pharmacy needs to do a better job of staffing prescription pickup counters. All too often we encounter only one pickup counter open and long lines. And, if someone has any issue with a prescription. which of course happens pretty frequently, there is no place for the people in line to go and the process pretty much slows to a halt. read more

*CVS PHOTO REVIEW ONLY CVS Photo failed me :( The management and service here has gone so down I'm so disappointed. I used to get a lot of photos down here picked up with a breeze. Long story short a couple days ago I ordered a beautiful print. It was supposed to be ready a hour later. I got a email claiming a delay. I understood. Never heard from them again. I called the store after being on hold for 15 mins the guy just said oh the machine was broken. I wish they could have called and told me this days ago instead of me having to hunt them down. They could have at least offered to fix this problem but failed to do so. We never got your order. And I paid. And I never got my print. Luckily I paid a good price so at least that is a good thing. Long story short. Don't do photo prints here. The lines here are crazy long but the staff here are nice and it's a clean shop. My problem is with the photo center. I will no longer do my prints here as I never got my photo. CVS of McLean get your act together and clean your mess up. You guys been great for years but you just lost a loyal customer. I have been going to this CVS for over 20 years. The place is clean, the layout is relatively open for a drugstore, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. The store seems to be often understaffed, though this has improved lately. Other signs that they have too few people: their drug filing system sometimes requires a lot of digging, I've spent ages on hold to speak to a pharmacist, and there have been times when I'd get a text message about my medicine being filled, only to find it hadn't really been filled when I arrived. read more

Pharmacy did not properly mix the medication, was very chunky the first time--they gave a replacement for free (which was nice but an inconvenience to have to come back). Always a crazy long wait... I called for OTC ointment, was told it was there, and when I came by no one could find where it was located. Was told that the people who might know where it was were gone for the day. First of all I know pharmacies get busy and there can be a wait. However this CVS is by far the slowest and always has a super long line. I have nothing against the pharmacists that work here, they're all very professional and friendly, but they're just really understaffed. It takes anywhere between 15-45 min here, and in today's instance it took me almost an hour. What's worse is that the parking lot is always a mess and dangerous to drive in. The design of the shopping center is just poor and there's almost no visibility when making turns. I would recommend getting your prescriptions filled elsewhere if you can. read more

I tend to like CVS for the fact that it has many knick-knacks and oddities that I don't tend to see in my quasi-military sheltered life (I say such since I still shop at the PX/Commissary and work for Government clients). Between the many different types of chapstick that my wife can pick up (she collects them) and the different snacks we end up seeing, this can easily become a shoppers paradise. The pharmacy here is pretty good too - I rarely wait more than 10 minutes if I have to drop by for the odd bottle of Allegra. Usually they'll have things waiting on me if I have the foresight to call ahead. Oh - but one thing I DON'T like (hence the four stars) is the pushy-ass lady in the lotions aisle. A wonderful present that I picked up in Afghanistan (or maybe it's just me getting old) is the tendency to get dry skin on the back of my hands. Maybe it's a function of my obsessive hand washing. Who really cares. But I go in to periodically pick up a bottle of Aveeno hand cream so I can keep my mitts relatively soft (hey, I don't wear a uniform full-time anymore!). Well, this one lady starts coming up and asking me what my problems are, what I'm looking for, etc. and then starts suggesting her own solutions. Oh, let's see - if you have dry skin or eczema, run your hands under hot water! It makes them feel better! Uhh...how about, NO! Worst thing to do - you use COLD water. And recommending bath salts for me when it's just my hands - lady, go the hell away! You're not my damn dermatologist! Somehow, your 10 hour education of reading salve bottles does NOT make you a doctor. Besides, that, shop away folks! read more

While I love anything that is open 24 hours a day, I am going to start being more attentive to pricing at CVS. We were doing some comparison shopping between CVS and the next door Giant (also 24 hours!), and found that Bio-Tru contact lens solution was $1+ more at CVS than at Giant rightnextdoor. While not pleased with this, I recognize the upcharge for convenience a-la 7-11. I've got my eye on you CVS! read more

A place open 24 hours in McLean area is rare, so I consider this a gem. It's open all day, everyday- and unlike other convenience stores where you ring a bell at the counter and awkwardly fondle your bottle of coke, that birthday card you should have bought your mom yesterday, and the CVS brand bag of gummy bears and wait what seems like years for someone to show up- they are nearby and pleasent, even at 3 am. They don't even give you the "I know what I'm doing up at 3am- but why the hell are you up?" look. Yay for organization- all the aisles have overhead signs- and even better, they are correct (yes, you can actually find what you're looking for)! A decent selection- quick stop for a snack, a forgotten item, etc. and they're usually pretty well staffed. read more
