I really never thought about reviewing a CVS before. I go to them all the time. But to tell the truth, I love the CVS on Ventura and Louise. It's in the same shopping complex as the Starbucks and Jumba Juice. I can all hear you say 'oh yeah'. The pharmacy is great! All the ladies that work here are ALWAYS so nice and truly look happy to work here. Same for the rest of the CVS staff. I know it's their job to be helpful, but I love that they talk to you and joke around. Going to this CVS is fun. P.S. Anne, who posted the comment about being followed around by one of the staff members. Same thing happened to me! Tonight. For the second time. First time I think they paged security to come to my isle. The cashier and I laughed it off. I had been kneeling by the back pain patches and placing the items in my shopping bag. It's lighter than the baskets. I totally looked like I was shoplifting in retrospect. But it does beg the question... Why are the back pain patches on the lowest shelf??? I can't bend that low. LOL. read more

This pharmacy is wonderful!!! Particularly the pharmacist I dealt with today: R. C. He takes the time to triage the incoming prescriptions. Saw that my mom is 90 years old, in pain, and said it would be five (5) minutes. It was maybe 2 minutes. AMAZING. I love when I see people whose job is to care for/about other humans and are kind and concerned about the outcome. Great attentive service. Think we've got a transfer of Rx coming their way. There are many outstanding businesses in this complex if you do have to wait for your prescription. Thank you again! read more

Very rude people came to ask for a swisher and they were very rude about it. I was going to buy a Gatorade however because of their attitude I decided to leave it and walk away as I was walking away the lady randomly said "Your welcome" and a very aggressive way.. I would not come back here with horrible behaviour you should change their attitude and Happy New Year! read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for years out of convenience because it is near my house and have had countless problems getting my prescriptions for my family. I have gone home twice with antibiotics for my young children where they put the powder in the bag and forgot to mix the antibiotic. Now I open the bag to check them before they give me any medicines. I get text messages saying my prescriptions are ready and then go there to find they are not. Last week was the last straw. In March, during this Covid 19 pandemic, I was asked to stand next to the pharmacist for 40 minutes while he called my insurance to verify they approved my prescription and then have the order placed because he claimed their pharmacy didn't have my medication on hand which was fine so long as I was able to get the medicine I needed. I was told it would arrive on Monday. On Thursday the following week, I called to make sure it was really there knowing the history of this pharmacy and sure enough it was not only not there, but the pharmacist claimed it needed to be reordered because they never received it and suggested I go with a different medication because she would have to call my insurance company again to approve it. I had already spent 40 minutes making sure the medicine I wanted was approved by my insurance and ordered by mail and then another 40 minutes on the phone arguing with this pharmacist. 2 weeks wasted and no medicine. I transferred my prescription to the Ventana Pharmacy and my medicine was ordered correctly and with a professional pharmacist that doesn't lie to you because they are too lazy to go through the right channels to get you the medicine you asked for. If you want mediocre service where every pharmacist talks to you like you are ruining their day, then call CVS. If you want respect and compassion, then call Ventana Pharmacy in Tarzana. It is amazing the difference in service and treatment. read more

This CVS pleasantly surprises me. The few times I've been here, the staff has been helpful and courteous. The aisles are clean. The shelves are well stocked. And the prices are fair. The store is open 24 hours but the pharmacy isn't. They even have a great one-hour photo center. It's located in a nice but very busy shopping center. read more

This pharmacy is a total disaster. They never have anything ready on time and they are rude!

I think I am going to write this review for foreigners who have no idea what CVS is. If you are looking for a pharmacy and grocery rolled into one place with pretty much all the basic essential stuff that you want. You go to CVS. I do not think there is anything exceptional with the place except its super convenient and near where I work. I come here mostly to buy milk for my fancy chai latte and the occasional gummy worms. read more

The pharmacy staff was very quick (in and out) and you got the sense that they cared about their customers. I believe the pharmacist that helped me was Neda and she was amazing along with her staff. She made sure I knew everything and all implications that could come with the medication. Probably the best and most reliable CVS pharmacy I have visited thus far. read more

One star because there's no option for a negative rating. I first began using CVS about 4 years ago at the behest of my insurance provider and this particular location is convenient to where I live. In four years I can count the number of times my prescriptions were filled without incident or delay on one hand. For years I've been promising myself I would find a different pharmacy. On my last visit to the doctor I had all my prescriptions renewed with FIVE refills each. After just THREE refills I had to have my doctor's office contact CVS and resend the original scripts over the holidays to prevent me from running out. Nothing new. Like just about every other time, I arrive after multiple texts from CVS assuring me that every one of them is ready, only to find out they aren't. I'm told the wait is 2-3 hours for the prescription I've already been notified is ready. There's absolutely nothing unusual about this. I've been overcharged hundreds of dollars, received the wrong medication and the wrong dosage over and over. The parking is completely inadequate no matter which time of day and there is always a line for the pharmacy that moves way too slow because everyone else's prescriptions are screwed up too. I have never witnessed a business actually stay in business after performing so poorly, so consistently, for so long. I have no idea how many people actually read pharmacy reviews but if you're still reading this, understand that I'm finally done with this place. And guess what? Only ONE refill listed on each of my bottles. Avoid at all costs. read more

Every freaking time with this place. A line out the door of the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions . The people that work there are nice and accommodating, but always understaffed and always a super long wait. I just went there for the last time . read more

It seems as if the management model for CVS is the sweat factories of the 1890's or perhaps something more akin to Soviet Russia in the 1960s. The shelves are poorly stocked, the staff all seem overwhelmed, prices marked are for the premium customers (this means you hand over to them all your personal info in order to get a plastic card that tracks what you buy which in turns help them make more profit). The good news is that in Encino we still have a choice for pharmacies there are small family owned ones (Oakdale on Balboa) or Walgreens and Rite Aides both on Ventura Blvd. read more

Horrible location. Came in with up-to-date member #, ID, Group number from a major provider, and they act like it was a foreign language. They wanted me to call my provider after telling me THEY "may have to call the provider." They weren't unreasonably busy just late. I told them my provider changed but they insisted the only provider was my previous provider. They refused to call my new provider and only called my previous provider. As I'm sitting here with pneumonia they're refusing to call my new healthcare provider. Absolute worst experience I've gained. read more

Two weeks ago, my wife went to pick up a canvas picture which she spent so many hrs to make at CVS on Louise and Ventura Blvd in Encino around 8:20pm. Got an email confirmation that it's ready for pick up. When she got there the picture was not there nor couldn't find her order number in the system. She asked for a manager for assistance. My wife showed him the confirmation email. He went off on her and told her "the picture is not here and have to order again!!!Do you understand? " with the bad attitude in front of other customers. She came out upset and crying. I went in to see what happened. Shift manager went off on me as well and using F words. I was politely asking for explanations. He made many antisemitic remarks while looking at my yamaka and lowering his mask. I think he was on drugs or something. I don't even know how he passed his background check. He was about to hit me. I was keep going backwards and I told him I hope there is a camera here! I felt so embarrassed and publicly humiliated in front of other customers. I asked him for a corporate number. He was about to write it down but ripped the paper and told me to call 1800 shop CVS!!!! Then he called me a coward for not fighting him as I was shaking and leaving the store for being afraid for my life. I'm a health care professional and a proud orthodox Jew who lived in this neighborhood for many years. Shopped at CVS all the time and never had such horrific experience. Called customer service and talked to several people from CVS's corporate office which no action was taken so far and my complaints were ignored the fact that I was verbally abused, almost got hit if I was not going backwards, and all because I was Jewish!!!! By not following up and not taking any action, let me to believe that CVS also has the same anti-Semitic vision. This not 1920's and we don't leave in Germany! It's happening in our own neighborhood. This is really upsetting that we can't walk into to a store without feeling safe. I got a called from the store manager several days later that the photo is ready and no charge to shut me up! All of a sudden the order was magically found? Why the store manager didn't want to help us that night. So disgusting...Antisemitism has no place in the world! I will continue sharing my experience on social media, our synagogues and encourage everyone to boycott CVS and not shop at this anti-Semitic company! read more

I personally love this CVS. It's clean, well laid out, the staff is friendly and greets you as you walk in. The pharmacy is BUSY but they are always kind and helpful even in the midst of apps that don't work and misinformation. I'm very glad this is my neighborhood CVS. read more

I have been using this Pharmacy for almost 2 years as I like CVS Pharmacies in general and this location is the closest location to my current residence. However, with this location I have been disappointed because of the terrible service and lack of customer service skills. Today I went there to pick up my meds and They could not find the prescriptions and they asked me my name 4-5 times. Even when I showed them the text message I received from CVS to let me know the prescription was ready to be picked up , they kept asking me twice if I had been there before and if I was sure was that store and that the prescriptions could be another store!!! They just are terrible and I will start using another location or another pharmacy in the neighborhood if I can't find another CVS store nearby!!! read more

We were helped by Jasmine and I can't thank her enough. We had her scan and delete and scan and delete about three times to get the best value for the coupon that was incorrectly marked. She did it with kindness and concern for us. I would've given her a five star, but because the coupon was poorly written in that nowhere did it state there was a maximum discount, and you really had to be a lawyer to figure it out, I gave CVS a three. But bravo to Jasmine for a job well done! read more

Just received great service by the pharmacist Dr. Farhad. Unlike the female pharmacist, he is consistently polite, helpful, professional, compassionate and respectful. Obviously he is super busy with his work load. God bless and protect him! read more

Big. Fat. Ripoff. Unless you're coming here to fill a prescription, I wouldn't buy anything from here. Floss refills that are 3.99 everywhere else are 5.99 here. Generic unisom that's 6.50 everywhere else is 9.50 here. Go somewhere else and save your money. read more

This is my go-to CVS. People that works there are super nice and helpful. Their manager is one of the nicest person I've ever met. Products are always fully stocked. read more

When Barnes & Noble booksellers left its retail space, CVS pharmacy moved in. It is by far the biggest and best-equipped pharmacy that I have ever seen. It carries everything from hair color to shoe polish and from light bulbs to Halloween costumes. The prices are fair. The service is very good and there are even front and back checkout counters for busy days. You can in addition to your medication, get all of your household needs at this CVS. read more

They make their poor register people chirp a loud HELLO but they never have carts. They have those stupid baskets that hurt your arm. They're always out of stuff. I have also been catching the fact that things are marked at one price (like buy 1/get 1 free) but the registers don't give the discount. I've caught it twice now. I'm going to report it to the consumer investigation bureau for fraud, just like Ralphs a few years ago. I'm arranging my shopping so that I can avoid CVS. They are the pits. read more

The pharmacist in this cvs is the kindest and most helpful pharmacist I've ever dealt with. She is really caring and takes the time to explain things to you AND she helps you find discounts for meds! Love her! read more

As my previous review stated, my experiences at this specific location have been less than stellar, but I have to say I went in late one night, and to my surprise was greeted, *gasp*, and the employees even engaged in conversation. Like I stated, this was at night, while my other experiences have been in the afternoon, early evenings... So I am guessing they have a different crew for the night shift, but regardless an absolute improvement. I shall return and hopefully the good service continues. read more

Thank you Neda for excellent costumer service and quick flu shot! Got a coupon for next visit, purchase $25 and get $5 bucks of. No lines, I was out in 10 minutes. Employees nice, great costumer service. I'll be back next time for savings read more

I've been looking for a place to make copies of some of my mother's old photos from when she was a child. I called CVS to see if thats something they can do, and the representative said, and i quote, "Yes, of course!" So I drive down to CVS and when I get there, I find that the scanner is broken. They are so unorganized and were very unapologetic. I went to CVS on havenhurst, and they were very helpful. The lady walked me through the steps of scanning and helped me through the long, tedious process. I also told her about my experience at the louise store and she gave me a 50% discount! read more

Today I purchased a cold sore treatment among other items. I spent about $50 as I usually do there every month. After getting to my car, I opened the little box to the lip ointment- It was empty. Someone had gotten in at the other end of the box and stole it. I immediately went back into the store, not more than a minute later. WENDY, the manager, would not give me a new one. She didn't even look up my purchase history. She just said, "No, you could have stole this." I spent $11 on an empty box. They would rather have their $11 item than a $50 a month customer. STUPID. Corporate CVS will hear from me, along with the Better Business Bureau, and all of my social media. read more

Best pharmacists ever! Neda is always quick and efficient. She used to be at a different cvs and when I noticed her at this location I transferred all my prescriptions to this one. This is the WORST pharmacy ever. They never answer their phones and the lines are always long. None of the staff have any sense of urgency. Is that a Halloween Skeleton Decoration??? No, it's my decomposed body left waiting here for my prescription. Very slow location, and every-time I've come here my prescriptions were not ready. Don't even get me going on the parking situation here.... it's really bad. read more

CVS itself is horrible. I would give every one of these places 1 broken star. My girlfriend and I drove to 3 different CVSs that also claimed to be 24hrs from Van Nuys to Reseda and ended up at this CVS only to be told that they could not fill our prescription because they were too busy and the pharmacy closes at 8pm. It says 24hrs.. CVS is full of $hit! I will never shop at your stores ever again. read more

This store does not follow California state laws for reruns, as well as their own online posted policy. Netta is the one who makes this place tolerable. As any pharmacy it's a bit busy and occasionally seems understaffed with staff that doesn't offer solutions when you seemingly reach a dead end with issues with the insurance or doctor....but Netta takes the time to make sure you get everything done that you need and are taken care of exactly how you want to be.
