Pharmacy comes across as rude and not knowledgeable. My first trip there, advised me that I "didn't select them as a provider" through my RX insurance. A) that's not how insurance works and B) they were incorrect. My second trip there for a different prescription, I advised the associate when I got to the pickup counter that I had been previously told they weren't in-network, but that I'd verified online that all CVS locations are in-network for me. He ignored my statement, continued on with asking for my info for the pickup, and told me "it's gonna be $12, is that okay?". After I paid, he told me I could go to the other counter for help with my insurance. First of all, no need for the condescending "is that okay?" - it's not about the $12; why are you guys going out of your way to not attach my insurance to my prescriptions? Secondly, extremely bizarre and rude to not acknowledge my entire statement until 2 minutes, several sentences, and a processed payment had passed. read more

The main female pharmacist at this location is the absolute worst and could care less to be working to help others. Every time we come here she gives us the hardest time filling our prescription for our dog. I've been regularly going to this CVS location for the past two years and despite how busy the pharmacy can get at times with all of the customers that they serve in the community, I'm always warmly greeted, acknowledged by my name (impressive since I'm not the one wearing a name tag) and assisted as quickly as possible each and every time I show up!! With the few occasions that I needed some additional help with my prescriptions (inquiries with my insurance, help with the costs etc), the team has always gone above and beyond the call of duty for me and made me feel truly valued as a customer!! I genuinely feel that Farshid, Neda, Parisa, Aleks, Mike, Rebecca, Payegh, Angela, Paristoo and the rest of the staff there all really do care about me, my family and our needs, while still having to continue to work hard through the C-19 Pandemic. I love coming to the CVS and Encino. It's located in many mom that has Starbucks, Jamba Juice, The Nook (if you haven't been, go!). There is plenty of parking. If you can't find some in the front you can always go to the rear parking. This CVS is always clean their shelves are always full of products. I can spens a lot of time here. It would be nice if someone in the pharmacy would answer the phone. I was put on hold three times, 15 minutes each, then disconnected. When I ask to speak to the manager they first tell me that the manager is out to lunch, then "there's no manager here today." Unfortunately cvs is a preferred provider with UHC. as such they take thousands of dollars in from my family per year in cash copay and insurance payments. Among other problems that others mentioned before, employees are not trained properly and nor is the manager. When I tried returning an item the cashier and the manager looked at the item horrified, like there's such an obstacle in front of them that there is no other words to say except "No we can't accept a return no no no" like they've never seen anyone make a return before. Both told me that I can't return non CVS brands which is fine, but why act so unprofessional and be that unhelpful? All you have to say is " I'm sorry but we do not accept returns for such items at the store for whatever reason, try calling CVS customer service they might be able to help you with that matter." No suggestions were made whatsoever all I got as my response was "NO we can't take it back, next in line." Two employees did nothing to help a customer, such poor training and lack of personal skills. I walked out and called customer service myself and on the contrary when I called, I had a great experience over the phone and got everything resolved through CVS and then the actual manufacturer. I got all the steps explained to me with no problem. Bottom line It's just so annoying to waste time with staff that doesn't care to do their job right. Not only did I get a phone call to remind me that my son's medication was ready for pick up but when I mentioned my medication was coming up soon, the pharmacist happily looked it up and said it would be ready when I got there to pick up my son's. She then noticed the excessive price being charged due to my insurance and on her own, looked for online coupons to reduce my cost. Not only did she reduced the cost from $85 to $25 but she did this at 8pm in the evening when she could have been readying herself to go home. Instead she was taking time to save me money and providing me exceptional customer service This is not the first time she has done this. She saved my over $200 another time on some specialist medication required by another family member. Thank you for caring about your patients. The pharmacy here is very unprofessional and almost costed me my life. I've been on anti depression medication for 15 years of my life. I am also a surgical first assist. I've been in medicine longer than most of these pharmacy techs have been alive. I have never had any issues with any pharmacy in my entire life till this branch. The pharmacist DESERVES to have her license revoked. She withheld my meds and refused to give loaners, when a Rite Aid around the corner was capable of providing such. I don't understand the power this woman has. Here I am writing this review having severe withdrawal symptoms on the account of a pharmacy who can't do their job. This happened more than once, and I am tired of living in fear with my head pounding waiting for a seizure to arise from my withdrawals. CVS caused this and you need to be more on your game when it deals with people and their medication that could cost them their damn life. OK, this review is going to shock you. I'm dealing with the corporate offices of CVS currently to hopefully curb a situation that caused myself and my husband great difficulty. I bought my husband a pack of fresh razors from this CVS. The razors here are conveniently caged behind the register, as would be done in any ghetto ass neighborhood. You forget walking into this CVS that you're in beautiful upper class Encino....its awesome. I've been frequenting this CVS for approx 3-4 years and have spent thousands of dollars in this store. For real. My husband, after trying his new razors, reported that they were dull and after trying out three of them, not one would shave. Figured we received a defective set, we return to the shop to exchange and are informed by the salespersons that looks at the razors that all TEN razors in the box have been USED. This means that someone (and not my husband, mind you, he only tried out 3 of the 10) used every single one of those razors, put them back in the box, carefully glued it closed, and then returned or exchanged it at this CVS store. Then CVS sold this box to us. This is bad. Really bad. Had my husband cut himself with these used razors he could have caught HIV, Tetanus or a number of other dangerous illnesses. When we confronted the female manager at the front desk at that moment. She assured us that there was no way this could have happened, called us liars, refused to refund, exchange or offer solace, and sold us a new set of razors at full price. We purchased them because we needed razors, but this was not going to be the end of it. i assure you. This is the second time I have dealt with this same woman-the first time she refused to exchange a bottle of body lotion I had purchased and the pump was broken. I simply wanted to exchange. I had to call the corporate offices while in the store to have them call her and inform her that an exchange on a $4 bottle of lotion was going to be ok. I URGE you not to frequent this CVS. Please move all of your prescriptions, your business and your good intentions elsewhere as we are going to do. This location is going to need a complete overhaul of staff with new training and guidelines to bring it up to a level that provides a safe and comfortable environment for the good people of this neighborhood. Dear CVS: if you want this location to make it, you'e going to have to FIRE EVERYONE in your front retail space and start over. I have been shopping here for more than 10 years and I've never been treated as I did last night. It looked like the African American employee at the cash register late night was watching and following me to my aisle as if I were a thief. I've never seen a person at the cash wrap follow me nearby looking at me. It looked like he was pretending to grab a roll paper towel, but I saw him looking at me shopping in the housewares aisle needing to pick up a dishwashing sponge. He wasn't friendly at all at the cash register when I paid for my items. I usually come here for supplies when it is late at night or I don't want to go to Target since this is closer to my home. Usually the people who work here are really nice and friendly to me, the reason I chose this drug store to shop. I have never felt like a thief before at a store... ever. All it takes for me one bad shopping experience. I will never come back here ever again. There are plenty of other drug store options along the boulevard in the area that will not follow me around and watch me as if I were a thief. I'm staying away from this location from now on. There's a Walgreens, Rite Aid and another larger CVS nearby (on Ventura and Reseda or Ventura and Hayvenhurst) for my shopping needs who probably wants my business more than this place. No need for me to feel as I am a thief as I did here. Parking is horrible here during the day and the reason I would come late at night. Stay away from this CVS location! read more

If the state of California truly wants to curb crime, sentence all convicted offenders to the pharmacy line at this particular CVS. I suspect many of these offenders will quickly realize that a cocktail of intravenous drugs (meant to cause certain death) would have been preferable. The pharmacy is understaffed at best, and overstaffed by oddly inert employees (who seem not to understand that their mission is to dispense remedies) at worst. My last visit found no fewer than seven staff behind the pharmacy counter, with one poor (and actually quite friendly and apologetic) soul at the register. The remainder of the staff were busy milling about, discussing all manner of important pharmaceutical topics, none of which had the slightest impact on the growing number of customers standing, with declining patience, in line. The DMV does a better job with 'customer service.' Do not go here unless you love lines and have an inordinate amount of time to kill. Honestly. One could show up with a severed leg and expect the following, in this order: 1) to be ignored; 2) to be chastised for the mess the blood was making, and; 3) to perhaps make it from 10th to 4th in line after waiting for 45 minutes. At which point it's certain you'd be asked by the cruel woman with alternating streaks of blonde and grey in her pony-tailed hair (the one who stares at the phone, waiting for it to ring rather than address the small country of customers waiting in line) to go bleed out in the parking lot. Bottom line: Go to the Right Aid (next to Ralph's) just a mile West on Ventura. read more

The pharmacists are very rude and talk back to customers who try to politely ask for help. Their people skills are INCOMPETENT. The store itself is always a mess with little or no help available to make sure everything is OK. The front counter looks like a liquor store you'd see at a mom and pop store. My review concerns the pharmacy only. There's a really nice Persian guy who is friendly and efficient and helpful. Unfortunately, he's not the pharmacist! I was picking up a new prescription and needed a consultation with the pharmacist. The young Persian guy told the pharmacist (an older Persian woman) that I needed a consultation. She ignored him and went about doing menial tasks for about 5 minutes. *There were no other customers there.* A couple of times, she looked at me and then chose to ignore me. I just smiled and waited for her to complete her array of tasks. She did not smile back. Eventually the young man told her a second time that I was waiting for her. She mumbled something under her breath to him and continued to ignore me. SO RUDE! It was really obvious that she didn't want to help me. So, I left... and will never go there again. They always initially charge the highest price regardless of insurance being on file. You can never get anyone on the phone. There is always a wait.
