Their communication is inconsistent, their staff is not pleasant (after you've been sitting in drive-thru for OVER 30 minutes mind you), and overall they just suck. Incredibly horrible service from a young female latino worker at the drive through while picking up mother in laws glioblastoma's medication. Read to her the name and birth date and instead of her clarifying the spelling, she said "no". After clarifying the spelling, she said "some are out of stock" and when we confirmed we needed 17+ prescriptions, she said "17?!!?" With the most judgemental face and tone, after checking the text we got confirming ALL were ready. She proceeded to give us 5. With active grief and struggles in our family, we can't even rely on the workers that are supposed to help us to have any sense of decency. Disgusting she deserves to lose her job. read more

Cathy took her time coming to the register after I approached her and I told her my order was sitting on the shelf behind her and she continued to ask me what's the last four numbers of the order instead of looking on the bag. Pharmacy needs to be cleared out. It's slow, and never prompt. One time they told me the prescription wouldn't be available until they nearly closed yet it was sent over in the morning. Another time the pharmacy gates were down at 2pm as if it was closed despite hours showing it should've been opened in the morning. If I could give them less than one star, I would do so. I don't like to write nasty reviews, but things have been so bad at this place for so long that I decided to finally talk about it here. They messed up my last prescription for a certain drug, only giving me 40 mg instead of 80 mg, so I came to the end of my month's prescription after two weeks. I had my doctor call in a new prescription for 80 mg. CVS's useless telephone prescription program let me think I was actually ordering my prescription, but when I came in two days later, the pharmacists informed me that there was a "hold" on my prescription as it wasn't covered by insurance (it actually is, but they don't seem to know that). The prescription wasn't very expensive, so I said I'd pay out of pocket and wait. After 25 minutes of waiting, they refilled the wrong prescription--something else for which I hadn't asked for a refill--so I waited another 20 minutes until they refilled the right prescription. Generally speaking, whenever I've come here, only half as many people are working in the pharmacy as they seem to need for the various lines of customers that they've got. The CVS Corporation really needs to get its together and hire enough people to properly do their jobs if CVS doesn't want more loyal customers to vote with their feet and go elsewhere, as I am now going to do. This is the last time I will ever have my prescriptions sent to CVS. read more

My very sick toddler saw her pediatrician first thing at 7:30am and got a prescription for antibiotics called into this CVS. After not receiving a text for pick-up, I've called three times today and have YET to have ANYONE pick up the phone. This call started at 7:30pm and I've been on hold for well over 1.5hrs. The pharmacy closed at 9pm -- meaning my miserable daughter gets ZERO relief as we head into another long & restless, fever-filled night -- until tomorrow when I call the Dr transfer her prescription to Walgreens, a place that can actually do it's ONE job: give medication. This place should be shut down - it's completely unethical to deny children in need & pain medication and take zero responsibility for it. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The worst customer service, impossible to get any prescription filled in under 3-5 days and forget the drive thru, you'll be waiting in line over an hour. I've been a long time customer of cvs Crofton and when we moved to Edgewater I figured I would receive the same great service...completely wrong! Do not waste your time or money here! Also, their covid testing is a joke. They called me 5 minutes past my appointment time and I was literally 60 seconds away coming over the bridge and the rude lady on the line told me I could not be seen. I am forced to use CVS with my insurance. This CVS in Edgewater is absolutely the worst. I order my Rx refill over the phone. The automated system says it will be ready by noon that day. Several days later when I finally go to the store IT WAS NOT EVEN FILLED YET. It was not out of stock; they just never filled it. To top that the people are rude and never ever say thank you. I also get Rx's filled in Massachusetts at a CVS near Wrentham. They are pleasant and helpful, so I guess it is just this crappy store. CVS here is a hint: Fire the manager, pharmacist and most of the help and start over. While you are at it fix the situation with the on-line pharmacy. I just moved to this area. I got terrible back pain, I went to see my dr in Saturday morning, she sent prescription to this store and said the medication should be ready after 1 hour. ... I experienced the same story with every one who gave this store 1* : no one picked up the phone. My husband went this store 2 times to check if the medication was ready, they said coming back next day, then next day still no medicine. Finally the following Wednesday I went to the store as they told my husband the medication would be ready , but STILL NO. This is a terrible pharmacy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Their automated systems do not work. When you do manage to get a refill ordered it is NEVER ready when you arrive. They will stay just a minute, walk back and then come and tell you, it can be filled in 20 minutes if you wait. This is a ridiculous waste of time and NOBODY CARES at CVS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I repeatedly receive poor service from condescending clerks. Always unable to help me due to the system. Always too busy. In October, my doc sent in an Rx with 5 refills. I went to refill in December, Rx had been sent archive and couldn't be refilled. Then today CVS website said Rx was ready. I stopped by and they tell me Rx orders had been referred back to Hopkins. So I'm left chasing all over Maryland, including the murder capital to get a $25 Rx. All clerks can do is say sorry and ask for the next customer. Insurance is spending over $250,000 a year on me. Nightmare!!!! I go to this CVS regularly and today was horrible! I picked up a prescription and received a huge string of coupons. I am frugal and often take advantage of offers. Today I selected items that totaled a little over 53 dollars. Now they have seeks checkouts....this is so they can overcharge you. I scanned my coupons and the 10 off of 50 would not scan. It took a while for assistance to arrive. This is by design. When the "cashier" arrived he explained that I needed to spend 50 after all of the coupons.. This CVS is absolutely horrible and doesn't even deserve one star. I have had prescriptions sent here after emergency or urgent care visits to save me the drive past my house to my usual CVS. It is NEVER WORTH IT! They do not process prescriptions from anywhere right away. This has happened on multiple occasions now, which is why it is worthy of a negative review. I will sit on hold on the phone all the way to this CVS and nobody in the pharmacy will answer- I will literally still be on the phone when walking up to the counter to see if it is ready. But no one at this location would answer the phone for my pharmacist to take care of me in a timely manner. Poor poor service on their end. Good lawd this place is a nightmare. 0/10 do not recommend. After being on a hold for hours over two days and not getting anyone in the pharmacy I called the store and asked if something was wrong with the phones. He said no but if you call corporate they'll send us help. I was like are you being held hostage? Do you need me to call 911? He said no we are just understaffed. I said oh sweetie I'm not here to solve your staffing problem, I just need to a get prescription filled. He said he'd take my number and walk it back and have the pharmacy call me. Shocker, no one called. So after being on hold 30min the following day I called customer service and explained the situation. She said I'll call them. No one answered and she had to call the store and get them to get someone in the pharmacy to answer the phone. Well I get this pissed off pharmacist, Femi, who tells me none of my prescriptions have been filled cause they're on a two week back up. I tell him I'm out of things I need and I need to get a couple pills to get me through until things are filled. He yells at me and tells me not to mandate him. I said I know it's cvs policy to do this. He continues to yell at me to not mandate him but finally says because it's cvs policy he will do it. Here I am, three days later, and still just trying to get someone there to just release it so I can have it filled at Riva. I've called them like 5 times during this five day ordeal and someone answered every single time almost immediately. I've called customer service three times. A pharmacy that is responsible for providing life saving medicines should not be allowed to operate like this. read more

I'll make a long story really short. I moved to the area recently and had my doctor call in a prescription, they left a VM at this pharmacy on a Friday, on Sunday I dropped in to check on the status. They informed me that they never got a VM and I need to have my doctor call back and thats the only way they can get it filled. My doctor called back on Tuesday waited on hold for 30 minutes 3 times and no one from the pharmacy ever picked up the phone, they left another voicemail. I drove to the pharmacy again to let them know my doctor had been trying to call, I offered the call the doctor myself while I was there or wait for them to call them while I was there to ensure they got it sorted out. They told me it was fine they would handle it and I would get a call when it was ready. I drove 30 minutes back home and I got a call as soon as I got in from the pharmacy - I missed it and they left a VM to call them back. As I am on hold (15 minutes in) I am getting a call from the cvs that I am on hold with - apparently no on answers the phone even though when I was in there, there were 7 people working. They accused me of giving them the wrong number and they can get through to the doctor and they arent going to be able to fill my prescription - even though I have called the doctor 4 times that same day and they have always picked up 1st ring. The pharmacist gets on the phone continually talking over me that they cant fill it, its not their job to hunt down my doctor, I gave them the wrong number, etc. Until he finally just hangs up. I called back asked to speak with the manager - told her the story and somehow, magically my prescription was filled by the time I got off the phone with the manager who had gone back there to ask them about the situation. Manager was friendly and really really helpful but you'll probably die waiting for them to do their jobs or on hold. read more

Don't ever go to CVS in Edgewater, especially if you are a military veteran! The pharmacy is listed on the VA website as a resource for free flu shots for veterans who have a VA ID card with medical benefits. After waiting in line at the pharmacy, the young woman at the register was not very friendly and said she didn't think they accepted VA benefits. When I told her the VA website states otherwise, she asked an associate who didn't know and then asked the pharmacist, who also said they don't work with the VA but that the Minute Clinic inside CVS does and that I should go there. I went through the entire registration and appointment process on the computer in the Minute Clinic waiting area and after waiting my turn saw a nurse who seemed to be the only person I met on the staff who actually cared about people. She said VA patients had to be approved, and she spent considerable time with me actually calling the VA and writing down information. The VA representative explained to the nurse that the VA covers urgent care for veterans at the Minute Clinic, but that the VA's contract with CVS covers flu shots at the CVS pharmacy area, which is where I started. This kind and helpful nurse copied the authorization code and group number from the VA representative and gave it to me. I returned to the pharmacy counter, waited in line again, then explained to the young woman at the counter that they were apparently mistaken, because a VA representative had just told the nurse at their Minute Clinic that I should return to the pharmacy area and provide them the authorization code and group number to receive my vaccine. She took the paper and presented it to the pharmacist who was then working at the Rx drive-thru window. She returned and told me the pharmacist is the only one who can figure this out and approve it and if I wanted to talk to him I would need to wait. When I asked her how long a wait, she said he couldn't talk to me until he had taken care of everyone in the drive-thru line, so I would be waiting a "long time" (i.e., hours). While I was explaining I would try another provider that better understood veteran benefits, she rudely walked away while I was still speaking. Uninformed and rude staff, lack of familiarity with established CVS contracts and policy, and lack of customer care are enough for me never to enter the doors of this deplorable so-called "pharmacy" ever again. Veterans who have served the nation at risk to ourselves have a right to deserve more! read more

I have had a pharmacist tell me hypertension is a silent killer. True. But for 1 that would scare the hell out of a layman whom this was a new diagnosis! & 2 I am an RN. I KNOW migraines and dizziness and other issues can happen as a result from uncontrolled hypertension! He told me I was wrong & it has no relation!!
