Typical CVS in a small strip mall area. This review is more about the self checkout kiosks they and all the other CVS places seem to have. I never have any luck with them and always wind up walking away from the kiosk and going to the cashier. This time i I t asked about bags and I noted that I would use my own. Then it says out my bag on the rack next to the scanner. I do but it keeps repeating this no matter what I do. Then it says wait for assistance and I cannot change it. So after looking at the two cashiers helping other customers I walked away and got in the cashier line. While waiting I watched one of the cashiers try and reset the kiosk. They kept having problems getting it to reset. Kallie I could think of was why doesn't CVS upgrade their systems like all the other stores so people can use them more. read more

I have to give their pharmacy full credit. My insurance I'm on won't cover my medication and so the pharm tech helped me and it was very much appreciated. There was also someone on the phone swearing out one of the pharmacists and she handled it so gracefully and calmly, I've got to commend her because she just kept repeating that's not how you speak to people, she's a real person and not an automation, and to please stop swearing. Love this pharmacy and their professionalism 100%. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. Perhaps leaving one will prove it wasn't an oversight. This pharmacy has been steadily going downhill since before the COVID scare. More recently I have found that when my prescriptions were complete, the text messaging system drives us crazy to pick up but then, when you drive down, it's likely the pharmacy staff won't be there. Once, I arrived at the store at opening (as advertised online and on the door of the store) and the place was empty except for myself and another annoyed patron who drove down only to find that the pharmacy was in fact closed and there was nobody to inquire as to what was going on. That day I made three trips to get one prescription, 8:15 am and then 10:30 am and was able to ask the person at the register when I might be able to pick up my order. They said, I don't know, maybe after 12 noon? I actually found them open at 3:15 pm. Yesterday I went at 8:30 and the same happened, four patrons, no staff and pharmacy closed. Clearly, there had to be someone there because the door was open and the lights were on but everyone who purchased anything used self-check out. Went to pick up groceries, came back, same thing at 10:05-I'm done! I will be contacting CVS Corporate and letting them know that they should note on their site that the pharmacy may or may not be open depending on whether the employee's decide they wish to sleep late or show up at work. Either way, I'll be sourcing a new pharmacy tomorrow morning. Someone should make this establishment aware that they won't be in business long if they continue to do what they are doing and I'm sure Corporate will love to hear that Salaries are being paid for people who don't even put in the hours for their wages. read more

Not only is the store old and needing upgrades but it is filthy. For a year and a half the front windows and doors are disgusting. The pharmacy is a zero. Most of the staff are rude and disrespectful They speak about personal issue loudly so the person asking your name can't hear you. Gino is an excellent pharmacist. When he is on everything runs smooth. He is extremely helpful and they follow his lead. The pharmacy runs smoothly. He should be in charge of training the other pharmacists. The supervisor is terrible and lacks knowledge of her job. The front manager Dana is very nice and very helpful. Good luck on corporate because they don't care. I will be getting my prescriptions delivered from another pharmacy They need to close this store! read more

Very depressing atmosphere when you walk in. Carpet seems kinda dirty, there is product in boxes in the aisles and what is on the shelves is picked through, not in the correct place. Seems like there is not enough trained staff to keep the place presentable. I mean there are people there who are at work but....... I checked out at a self checkout and needed assistance with an age restricted purchase of cold medicine. The guy kinda looked at the flashing light on the checkout and looked really bothered that he had to come over and swipe his little card. DO BETTER CVS!!! read more

EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED. The pharmacy is always short on medications. I call ahead and they say it's ready . I get there and wait in line anywhere between 5 to 10 people long with many customers checking in and still have to wait. i have a coupon for my prescription and then wait another 25 minutes so the pharmacist can put the copay coupon card medication thru. Mind you I called ahead and was told it was all set with the coupon copay price. I went to buy vitamin c tablets at 20 dollars and the expiration date on the bottle was in a month. The pharmacists always look stressed out. I must add the sales counter woman was extremely polite and pleasant throughout the 1 hour I had to wait. She deserves a raise. So many customers were upset and curt with her for anumber of different reasons and she handled them pleasantly. read more

I'm sure they're overworked... But this CVS is a complete mess. Prescriptions are filled wrong. The wait ridiculous. Promises are made for phone calls back that aren't kept. If possible avoid this place. read more

Every time I come here there's an issue. There's no reason why a prescription my doctor sent in at 10:30 the previous morning should need to be "expedited" with a half hour wait at 4 pm the next day. Absolutely ridiculous. I should have it the evening it's been ordered. I'll be sending my prescriptions to the Walgreens down the road from now on. read more

A select few who work in the pharmacy hate their job. You can tell when they greet you, answer the phone, look up information. They are disappointed that they work at CVS. I always try to be pleasant, and patient. But I just hate going here. Actually I dread going here. Some of the people who work at the pharmacy are very nice, helpful, competent. When I found out my prescription was out of stock the woman said "call around to see if any other locations have it" No. That's your job. She gave me no indication when it would be in. When I finally asked if they were actually going to order it, it was like I was asking her to fulfill this gargantuan task. So now it's been a week without this medication....fine..not life threatening, but my goodness...not a call to tell me it's out stock last week, THEN be a jerk about it? I've worked retail. It sucks. So I try to be extra nice to people who are trying, but NO ONE at CVS in Colchester is trying. read more

January 8, 2018 CVS Colchester Ct. Went thru the Pharmacy drive thru today a customer an older gentlemen was in front of me and his meds were in the window for approximately 8 minutes not realizing it was sitting there!! So I tooted the horn and he realized it was there took it and left. I got to the window and asked the young lady why didn't she make the effort to tell him?? Instead of apoligizing she stated he was an older man and It was'n necessary for me to beep!! Then proceeded to ask me to spell my name "5" times and didn't tell me why I had waited an additonal 10 minutes to get the med that were not ready!! that were orderd the day prior. I simply said in the future she may want to address the "Customer in a more professional manner and not tell the cusomer what to do!! She then said in a very condesending way Have a nice day!!! Please beware, Count your meds before leaving the store and read over the labels carefully. This branch is well known for miscounting and mislabeling. The employees are all wonderful people but under the thumb of a manager whom should not be in charge of anything drug related. Many times I have found discrepancies in my prescriptions that they did not bring to my attention. I guess they would rather let the chips fall and hope I wouldn't notice or become ill. I'm very surprised she hasn't lost her license yet. I use whatever CVS is closest and also use the online store with total satisfaction 99% of the time. The Colchester branch on the other hand has issues almost all the time. read more

A worker at CVS was giving instructions to an elderly woman trying to figure out the self check out machine. Instead of being kind and patient she was answering with a uncomfortably rude tone leaving the customer upset. When the elder woman truly just did not know how to use the machine. read more

This pharmacy is not very good. In fact it's one of the disorganized pharmacies I've ever dealt with. In addition, they have made a number of mistakes regarding our presriptions.. I would recommend anyone using this pharmacy to be wary. read more

Drove 45 mins from my app for my baby and they still didn't have my script ready . Told me it can't be filled because we filled it 15 days ago . And I told them , it's the same meds just a different script because his meds didn't work and his very sick still and the doctor sent the same meds over again today. They were rude and didn't want to hear me , and try to understand so we could work through this together . Then when I started to get angry someone else came over and snapped at me . Pete, the main pharmacist, is one of the most helpful people I have ever dealt with in a pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is incredibly warm and helpful. Front counter help is not always as chipper, but always helps, the store is in immaculate condition, and there is no better pharmacy in the area. All Winooski, Colchester, and St. Mike's folks should go there. read more

Wish rating could be 0 star. My wife an I had two back to back terrible visits to CVS. First my wife carried in a script and waited 15 minutes in line while clerk chatted with a friend. When she finally dropped it off and confirmed it would be ready in a hour and half left and returned in 2 hours. She returned in two hours and waited one hour for compleation. I had throat surgery in Boston, 4 hours away and the script sent to CVS at the time we departed Boston. Yup wasent ready after waiting in pain while people were checking out grocerys at the pharmacy. Waited another 10 minutes, was called but was told I needed to wait in line again. I left without picking up my needed pain meds. We will never set foot in CVS again. Charlie East Haddam read more

This store has very rude ppl working there. Recently due to the coupon policy changes they are very rude when not accepting coupons like they used to. Mainly the ladies are the worst!!
