Seems to be the common compliant on the yelp page regarding the pharmacy customer service. Pre-covid this was one of the best pharmacy locations around, however the pharmacy dept. has sadly gone so downhill. They still have the fiber-glass up so there is a barrier for verbal communications. This causes the pharmacy team to yell out your private prescription info so everyone behind you in the LONG lines can hear your private health information. what happened to HIPPAA laws for privacy? There are better pharmacy that delivery and have cost effective medications. Amazon, Good RX and also the smaller pharmacy like Danville Pharmacy are professional to deal with. read more

The cashier is friendly but the pharmacist ( male; middle eastern decent) is consistently rude, unfriendly abrupt and goes out of his way "NOT to help you." I called to ask if my prescription was ready, but I'm not sure if the person named "BOK" was a pharmacist or a pharmacy technician. They were so rude and unfriendly that it made me not want to speak to them at all. Before being a pharmacist, I think they should learn basic human decency and how to interact with people properly. Even if they can't be kind, they should at least avoid being outright rude. If they're going to act this cold, a computerized message would've been less unpleasant and more efficient. It seems this is a common complaint. The pharmacist is extremely rude. When you ask a question he bites your head off and doesn't explain his answer he just tells you no can't do it. I have worked with this pharmacist on my prescriptions he is no help at all and is very disrespectful and short. I'm also trying to have a friend's prescriptions transferred from another CVS to the Alamo CVS. I wanted to transfer their entire profile so they could pick up all their medications at alamo. The pharmacist told me I needed to wait until the Danville CVS notified the patient that the prescription was ready for pickup. At that time he told me to contact him and he will transfer it over. That means the Danville pharmacy will have to fill the prescription have it ready then I call and cancel it and they have to put all the medication back and throw away the container. I must say I used to be a huge long's drugs shopper and absolutely loved the pricing and customer service, but for some reason after CVS took over it slowly started going down hill. At this point I only use them to pick up my prescription monthly. Even with that they always had a long line, but they have one employee that is so fast with the best customer service. She works two registers at once and try's to get the line going. She is the reason why this store is getting two stars. Her customer service is a 10. I did have the pharmacist try to explain my medication and am sad to say she was clueless. Another thing I noticed is the actual store is short staffed. I really like this CVS. It has more of a small neighborhood store than a large chain. I have filled prescriptions and have not had any issues. But my review is really to shine the light on one particular person, Tony. Tony is very friendly and courteous. I had to make a late night trip to the store to get a fans. Our Air conditioning was not working and we were in the middle of a heat wave. Tony was great - he got me a fan and even gave me a significant discount. The next day in came back to get two more fans (yup, air conditioning was still out) and he gave me the same discount. I came in a few months later and he recognized me right away. read more

We've had nothing but great service here by the pharmacy staff. They're often inundated but they always maintain a very professional attitude. It's a pretty tough job when you have customers who want their medications asap but often there are insurance issues, doctors forgetting to send prescriptions. Those reviews were about a year old, so maybe they took the feedback to heart and made some changes, My first visit there today was very good. I was greeted warmly on arrival, the store was well stocked and clean. The vaccination station was very clean and organized and the shot giver, Purvi, was excellent! The pharmacy has terrible customer service. They treat customers poorly, do not answer their phones, call out HIPPA protected health information so all can hear, do not fill prescriptions correctly, and their pharmacists pretend they are doctors, and make medical recommendations which are different than doctors treatment plans. Will never shop here again. The male clerk was extremely rude and almost threatening in his comments. First I will take ownership in not understanding how to use the self service checkout correctly and I did get frustrated, and I uttered an explicative under my breath about the machine. To which this clerk turned around and said "what did you just say" to which I told him I was referring to the machine"... which he replied "it's not the machine that has the problem" and walked away. I actually did see the "don't put checkout items here sign", but my daughter hadn't. So I was trying to help her check out and our machine got stuck an was calling for assistance. The two clerks stood at the desk and ignored us. I'm sure they thought "two dumb women". But I work in customer service and I know you just help the customer regardless of the situation. But obviously we were too much of a problem, and because and blamed the machine this particular clerk got rude and kind of angry. I did try before leaving telling another clerk I wasn't directing any comments towards the other clerk we were just frustrated with the checkout system. But that the other clerk was rude to me. I'm sure they could care less... and that's fine, because I don't have to shop there. I'm a blue collar worker and if I treated a customer like that I would have been fired. Is it their fault...somewhat, but CVS and this store in general makes life hard for their customers and it is absolutely taking its toll on the staff. I know this sounds small but it happens so often that I need to point it out. My adult daughter and I were in for covid shots, the wait at check in was about 15 minutes (we made an appointment online) and we only had about 30 mins as we had another appointment after shots. We told the pharmacist we were there for our appointment and she checked us in quickly and told us to wait in a specific area for shots. There was a man behind us who lucky for him did not have to wait in line as long. He checked in and went and sat in the same area. The pharmacist who checked both parties in came over to give shots and gave the shot of course to the man first. I actually bet my daughter this would happen, she was more surprised than I was. We had to wait about 10-15 mins longer than the man who was behind us because the pharmacist assumed his time was more important. I know this could sound petty but it happens to so frequently that it does bother me - especially when like in this situation I needed to get to another appointment and allocated plenty of time. I also am hoping that my daughter does not experience as much of the blatant sexism I have experienced throughout life but unfortunately it is still very prevalant. read more

I have given this pharmacy a chance time and time again. When a customer goes to the pharmacy they should be handled with a certain level of care and professionalism, I received neither. I was denied a medication due to not having identification (I understand that part) what frustrated me was the attitude of "well then you aren't getting it". Don't Judge Outside a Store in Alamo, CA Allergy Galore.... My eyes are red as if I got hit in the eye by my husband wiener and nose running like the San Pablo Bay...... I had to pass CVS to purchase allergy medicine aka Allegra is the BEST yelpers (non drowsy & relief for 24/Hours).. Scene 1: Good Selection, Stocked Merchandise and Organize Scene 2: Passed a long Line of (7) Customers waiting at the Pharmacy Scene 3. Every Customer that was helped in Pharmacy had a trend either Pharmacist ran out of medication, Pharmacy Staff did not get medicine right or staff were yelling at the customers to site and wait, WoW Scene 4: Went to the restroom to blow my nose unfortunately NOT a guy. The restroom looks like a scene of a Truck Stop (see photo). Everything was broken faucet, paper towel dispenser cover missing, syringe in Urinal, and mold on ground.... The customer service level in this store is beyond sub-par. Fully aware I was waiting, Tony, the manager, chose to look over the shoulder of an employee while they had a giggle fest. How many CVS employee's does it take to do nothing!?!?! Also, they do not cut 5"x7" prints to size. There was a large white boarder around my pictures. Who does that? If I wanted a white boarder I would have printed them at home. Go to Rite Aid across the street. read more

Man.. I've lived down the street for years, moved, now I live just about the same distance away from this CVS. Pretty clean. Photo printer is hit or miss on operation. But you definitely won't find anyone working the isles or seeking to assist you in anyway. Exception is one of the managers, or Lead, not sure. Sadly I forgot his name. He would get five stars. I'll re-post if I see him again. I may rate this CVS one star but I sometimes have to come here for the pharmacy. I use my own that even delivers, but their hours aren't great and down a bit on the freeway. Hate rush hour jam 680N 3-6pm. My ER meds come here. Last minute meds. Really looking for a few more hours open. But alas, when I need them most. When I would patiently wait behind the slow service with long lines and brush curtesy. They are closed and the sun is still up, it's 90 degrees out. Really 6pm. You guys should be 24 hours and have customer service. I would pay for that, and people would flock as you guys are the only ones around for miles! But I'm done, I'll go to 24hr CVS in Dublin. Went to the CVS Pharmacy on Danville Rd. in Alamo for a Covid booster shot. The vaccine station was filthy. The table in it had unwrapped cotton balls sitting on it along with used rubber gloves and unwrapped bandaids. that were unwrapped. I spoke to the pharmacist about it and he was rude although he did send an assistant who spent less than 15 seconds 'cleaning' it. Ended up walking out without my shot. read more

Just your average drugstore. I usually end up going more to the Walgreen's on Diablo, but use this one for prescriptions since it is right across the street from the pediatrician. Since we mostly do just well visits, I maybe frequent this drugstore once a year. I have no complaints going here. read more

I like this CVS better because it feels more organized and clean. They do a good job keeping the store tidy. They seem to always have a rack with 75% off in the front.
