I'm actually pretty surprised at all the good reviews. I found the place to be lacking at best. When I walked in it was pretty empty and I was greeted and seated promptly hence the 2 stars. The entire time I was getting my eyebrows done the lady kept telling me my brows were too short and too thin and I should grow them out. Granted the last lady I went to did do them too thin and I just wanted them cleaned anyway but to hear about that the entire time was just obnoxious and rude. When she showed me my brows it was something I could have literally done by myself at home with tweezers. I left paying $10 & my brows looked like nothing was even done to them. I even had to pluck a few stray hairs myself. Save the time & money. I'm sure there are better places in Wilmington. read more

I come here to get my eyebrows threaded all the time and love when I get Joan or Cindy! Everyone is really good though. They are running a special right now: if you buy a facial, your eyebrow threading is free. I decided to try the facial and was a little nervous because I do have very sensitive skin. Joan asked about my skin type, what products I'm using at home and gave me a custom facial that was out of this world! I have had more expensive facials at fancy spas that were nowhere near as good as this one. It's been three days and my skin is radiant with no irritation whatsoever. This is my first time ever going to get my eyebrows actually "done". I have never really had to do any kind of upkeep on my brows as I have an actually nice shape but I decided to take some tweezers to a few stray hairs on a whim. I didn't necessarily do damage to my eyebrows but I wasn't happy with the results so I decided to go here to have them fix it. I think it's quite amazing how they use a string and thread to shape and pluck your eyebrows. It was relatively painless and super quick. The lady that I had helping me wasn't very talkative but the service was nice. And I must say I don't think of ever had such a prominent pretty eyebrows since! They are super easy to fill in now and to shape as well. They gave me a customer card and I can tell you that I will be back in about 2 to 3 weeks when they grow back out. Apparently, they will grow faster and thicker now. I have never had thick brows so lets see. Great place! I always get the owner/manager or May. They're the best and make sure your lip is stache free and eyebrows on point! Im sad I moved but when I am back in Wilmy i will visit! One of the ladies is kind of rude, she has been there since the beginning (glasses and reddish brown hair). I remember once I told her i wanted my eyebrows a certain way and she kept arguing with me saying she's a professional, like okay I get it but I know what I like. My eyebrows are pretty difficult which is why I only get like two of the workers there. Over all really satisfied, it's clean, and they're friendly. Definitely recommend going on off hours if not you'll be waiting for a while because they get busy. read more

I've been going here for 4 years. They've always done exceptional on my eyebrows and the ladies there are always so nice and sweet. However the past 6 months they haven't been doing my eyebrows how I like them (not doing an arch and threading them too short). I am very picky about my brows. I have black hair and my eyebrows are very thick and are the first thing people notice on me (literally my professors have told me they recognize me because of them). The ladies are super friendly and do a great job. We all walked in without appointments and there was no wait time. My brows are shaped really nicely. However, my only complaint is that they did not trim them as much as I would have liked... So they go all over the place if they aren't gelled into position. I walked in a Saturday afternoon without an appt & didn't have to wait at all. The space is clean, well lit, & tranquil. My brows were way overgrown & unruly when I walked in, but 3 minutes later they were perfectly & painlessly sculpted. Threading is so awesome! Cute brows ruined my eyebrows. I have always been so happy with my eyebrows being thick and full, and as someone who struggles with acne, this has been important to me because it's one of the few things about my face that gives me confidence. I came in and told the brow lady what I've told every other technician, "do not make them any thinner, do not shape them, just clean them up." She spent a solid 20 minutes on my brows, absolutely insane how much she took off. She completely ruined the shape, they're completely uneven they look like two different brows. she gave me a huge arch when i asked for none and i left crying because my brows were so thin. she then had the nerve to tell me my brows were "hard". no, you did the opposite of what i asked and ruined my brows and the chances of me ever coming back. not the first time they've not listened to me, but now my brows are entirely ruined. this will take months to fix. i shouldn't have even paid. read more

I have been here 3 to 4 times but every time I get my full face done she charges me different prices this time she charged me for for my nose which is a part of my face extra . I won't get my eyebrows done anywhere but here. I started going to cute brows when I was a freshman in college and went every 3 weeks until I graduated. Now I am post-grad living in Raleigh and have tried local threading places and have been so disappointed, I learned my lesson and refuse to go anywhere else- I make the drive to Wilmington whenever my brows need some work! I'm new to the city of Wilmington so I was very nervous about going to someone new to get my eyebrows done. Saw great reviews on here and it's close to school. The woman working talked me into getting eyebrow threading done. I wasn't for it at all until she told me about the process and the benefits. So I went for it. I will not go back to waxing! I think that everyone should give this method of eyebrow shaping a try. It is much less painless and even faster then waxing. I feel like my hair grows back slower after. The girls here are so kind and friendly, and they play such peaceful music in the background. Most importantly, the prices are sooooo reasonable! So far, I've been here twice so far. I've had Joan both times. When I first came here, my eyebrows were barely growing back. I told Joan that I wanted my eyebrows to grow out, but I just wanted them cleaned up a bit! She was awesome and my brows looked so clean, but still maintained some hair in the "growth area". The threading lasts about 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast your brows grow out. I've also gotten a brazillian wax here, also by Joan. They use "soft" and "hard" wax. Soft wax is the wax that gets taking off by the strip paper and the hard wax peels off by itself. I haven't had a wax in a while, so I was extremely sensitive. Joan was so patient and helpful and knowledgeable about the "pain" areas. I definitely recommend her if its your first time. This place is so calm and serene and the music helps you relax a bit. Depending on what time you come, there may be more or less clients. Usually during the day, before 2 during the week, there are less people. I definitely found a gold mine when I found this place. I have been only a few times so far, but every time I have gotten positive results. Prior to going here I was having my brows waxed consistently but after the first try at threading I was extremely pleased with how much less my brows grow back in between visits. I have also never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes after walking in. Very pleased with them and will continue to go back! read more

I was very excited to get my eyebrows threaded, and the experience started out well, the lady was very friendly. But it hurt a lot, and I am not one that shys away from pain (I enjoy tattoos), but this was not a pain that went away immediately and it did not help that the lady was extremely rough with the way she threaded my eyebrows, and she talked me into getting my lip threaded. I had never had it waxed or anything. IT HURT SO BAD!!! and she took her sweet time with it. So after, I had expected both my eyebrows and lip to be red, which it was, although I was in for a surprise for the next couple of days. The redness turned into bumps. I do not have sensitive skin nor have I ever had any acne. I broke out profusely around my mouth and my upper eyebrows and in between my eyes. It has been exactly a week since my visit to Cute Brows, and I wasn't going to write a nasty review about it but I think this is a little ridiculous considering I read reviews about this place before my visit and there weren't any bad ones. Along with the breaking out of my skin that has lasted a week, I have already grown hairs under my eyebrows so I will probably have to get my eyebrows WAXED (never threading again) in the next few weeks. And their website says threading is supposed to last much longer than waxing. I would not visit this place if you are happy with where you are getting your eyebrows done now.
