Horrible experience. READ THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS AS WELL! Other customers besides myself had complaints. Was sat in pedicure chair for 30 minutes with no communication from the nail tech on wait time. It could have went longer than that had I not left. Just inconsiderate of paying customers. The employee who did my nails just left me in the chair waiting with no communication while she did someone else's nails. She didn't even check the water temp, turn the massage chair on, etc. Just left me to soak in cold water. Didn't ask me if I wanted anything to drink like they do others. Unacceptable and I won't be back! Update: horrible customer service on the phone as well! I was going to give them a second chance but rude on the phone when I called back. I have been going here for a while often on for 4 1/2 years. Recently I've been going pretty consistently and had one nail person Tee do my dipping powder manicure. He does a phenomenal job however when he's not available which has been the last two or three times I've had other people in the salon do it and I have had a really bad experience. The powder doesn't cover my whole nail, there are streaks and it's dull. The pedicures have been awful. It's convenient to get both done at the same salon but never again. I always get the second package from the most expensive one so basically it's $44 and it's supposed to remove calluses etc. I had mine done yesterday polish is coming off, calluses not removed and just looks terrible. We came across Grand Nails Salon while in the area on vacation and couldn't be more happier. We both got the sugar scrub pedicure and it was easily one of the best pedicures we have had anywhere. The attention to detail and the care in which they take to make sure you are relaxed is worth the price alone. This is the first salon I have been to since covid began and wouldn't hesitate to come back (or recommend) when in the area again. They have social distancing practices on lockdown with pedicure chairs blocked off to allow proper spacing, as well as the manicure stations blocked off to allow for proper spacing. The manicure stations have a plexiglass divider between you and the technician and they sanitize the entire area after each guest. Normally I will look at reviews before going to a salon while out of town and am glad I didn't this time because we would have definitely missed out. read more

The clear customers are ask would they like water or wine or anything however, the other customers are offered nothing. Not sure why they are getting so many low reviews - I've gone to them probably about 8-10 times and I've never been disappointed in my nails. I've only gotten acrylic tips and dip before so I can't speak to other services but I am always IN LOVE with what I get. My nails usually last 4+ weeks with no lifting and no breaks. This place gives you free wine as well with some cute options or soda or water if you want some NA options. They do get very busy but they always seem to try and accommodate you when you come in. They are a little pricy when it comes to some things they add on charges for but it's never too much and the quality is always good so I don't mind paying the prices. read more

Today I came in to Grand Nail Salon for the first time with a tricky request to remove hard gel extensions that were done by another, more highly rated place on the other side of town. First impressions of Grand was that it was an extremely clean, new and classy place. The person that greeted me was very nice and friendly and I had a good feeling from the start. I wish I had gotten his name, but my manicurist today did such an amazing, neat and careful job removing those extensions for me. Not only that, but then he gave me the best gel manicure I have yet received while living in Wilmington. I am so happy to have found them, and they have now gained a new, loyal customer. We arrived for our our pedicure appointment.. which I strongly suggest unless you want to hang around& wait another 30-40 minutes.. and were in our chairs within minutes. The techs were in action quickly and did a pretty good job. I'm no expert on pedicures but think our was OK compared to my past experiences. I do feel they are overpriced vs. nearby competition. Unfortunately this was my favorite nail salon to come to in Wilmington, but recently I had a bad experience with the salon. I went on Saturday and patiently waited around 30-40 min for a pedicure and gel manicure. The tech didn't realize I wanted a manicure and quickly sat me in the chair after my pedicure. When she was doing my gel manicure, unfortunately she was rushed and was only letting my nails dry around 10 sec between each layer. By Sunday night, 3 of the nails came off clean. I went to the salon on Monday and explained to the male owner how I have never had gel fall off so fast and it was because she was rushed and didn't let it cure. I explained I probably should either get them all redone or maybe in a different color because I had this feeling they will all peel off. He explained the policy of 7 day guarantee and he would replace the peeled off nails. He also placed on a clear layer and let them sit. I explained I have a job and can't come back everyday to get nails fixed and was really concerned he didn't fix the problem. Unfortunately today (the very next day ) another nail has peeled off from the first day:/ I just wish the owner would listen to the actual problem instead of arguing with me because I refuse and can't go back for a 3rd day to fix their mistake. read more

I had heard really good things about the salon and received a gift card to come here for a pedicure. My technician rushed me through picking out my name. My technician seemed rushed the whole time. She wasn't able to communicate in English and that was a real problem for me since I had some issues with my feet. I had to stop her a few times from scrubbing too hard and had to convince her to cool down the water which was burning hot. She brought me some water. I found out from another technician when she was offering her client wine, that the shop offers wine, sodas, and water to clients but I was never offered that. Another technician brought me some wine which was very nice. I did not feel my pedicure was relaxing or personalized or pleasant at all. I will return to the salon that I normally go to where the price is lower and the service is better. read more

I've always had good experiences here but after my visit this week I won't be going back. I went in to have my acrylics removed and it was awful. The technician was very young and tried to pry them off with another acrylic nail. It hurt like crazy and I told her she had to stop. She then dremelled my nails and burned my finger. The whole time she was laughing with her coworker. After the nails were off I saw that she'd broken my real nail below the quick where she tried to pry the acrylic off. Ouch. READ THIS REVIEW!! My regular nail lady, who is the best, Nancy at Queen Nails, was out of town. I needed a gel fill. I checked around to find a reputable place. The reviews for Grand Nails were good, so I called. I spoke with Bonnie. I told her I needed a gel fill and a polish change. She told me that the gel fill was $30. She didn't tell me the price for the polish change. I have never paid more than $8 EVER for a polish change. I showed her my nails and asked her to maintain the shape. They are square round and very natural-looking. Bonnie was very quick, but when I looked at my nails, I was horrified. She had sanded the sides so much, that they looked very unnatural. I compared my left hand, which she had just filed, with the right hand, which had the original shape, and anyone could see the HUGE difference. At that point, the only way to fix it would be to file the nails down short. Fine. Let's do it! I give Bonnie my credit card to pay, and, normally, I pay $35 for my gel fill and about $7 for the polish change. So $42 + tip. The total was $59!!! That's $17 more for the SAME SERVICES! The polish change alone was a WHOPPING $14!!! WHAT??? Not only that, they make you sign a waiver with disclaimer on the sign-in sheet. (What nail place has a sign-in sheet that's a legally-binding agreement?) The fact that Bonnie couldn't shape my nails correctly was enough right there for me to not come back, but with a price tag like that, I would never come back. If you want the best of the best, Nancy at Queen is your no-risk bet. She's incredible! And reasonable! And super nice! read more

So I normally don't do reviews but here's my situation my I had someone give me a gift certificate may of 2022 while my husband was in the hospital we went from the hospital straight to rehab after rehab and spent months in there and since we got home I've been my husband's full time caregiver it's very difficult to be away for more than an hour at a time recently I've been able to make arrangements to use the gift certificate but unfortunately it had a 6 month void so thinking that they would understand and make an exception because of my circumstances I called and explained and asked if I could possibly still use it and they flat out refused and said no NOT good business if you ask me so I will be getting my nails done but I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

I got just a regular manicure here and really upset me because the quality was very poor. She didn't even smooth out my nails, she just used a high grit file and I left with rough nails which I had to go home and redo. They weren't even and she even left nail polish on my nail because she didn't use nail polish remover she just filed off the nail polish. Really irritating. Will not be going back. Hate to do it. But I feel like I've got to. My first experience here was absolutely wonderful! So when I decided to get my nails done for vacation, it was a no brainer. However I had my third visit in three days and they finally had to remove the gel polish completely in order to fix my nails. I had an appointment on Sunday for a gel manicure. Showed up five minutes early, waited about 15 minutes. Jen was my technician. She had another client at the same time as me, and periodically would get up from my chair and go see her other client going back-and-forth the whole time. There was no manager involved, she just did a polish change. Which was fine, I realize they were incredibly busy, and I'm a pretty patient, understanding person. She did a gel polish, I went home. That afternoon I realized that since she didn't give me an actual manicure, she hadn't push my cuticles back, and when I did so after getting out of the shower, it looked like my manicure was at least a week old. I called and asked if I could get it fixed and they said no problem just come in at my convenience. In the meantime, two of my nails chipped near the cuticle I'm assuming from lack of topcoat. When I went in, Jen file down the top of my nails applied another coat of gel polish and topcoat and that was it. I spent a long time under the UV light. But the polish was clearly too thick, it looked like I had had a gel dip manicure. Less than 12 hours later, two of the nails started to peel and buy the next day, almost all of them had started to either peel or chip. I went back in, and thankfully someone else was able to work on my nails and do them perfectly. But boy was it frustrating. I understand places are busy, and understaffed. But when you have an appointment I expect to get and please hear me, pay for, what I asked. read more

By far the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The owner of the salon is an asshole for blatantly disrespecting me. I was shocked by his piss poor actions towards me since I've been coming to the nail salon since they opened. At my last visit, I was forced to get my nails done with an old man who was slow and didn't know what he was doing. He was aggressive with my nails. I usually have dipping powdered nails because they tend to last longer and are more gentle on my natural nails but not this time. I don't know if he skipped a step but the nails broke the next day. I notified the owner of my broken nails( 3 broken nails) I asked if I could get them fixed on my off day since I work 12 hour shifts and he said he'd charge me if I didn't have the receipt well I literally just got them done and could show proof on my bank statement. Plus the guy should recognize me since I just went their ti get them done but he refused and hung up on me. I paid 55 dollars for broken nails and the owner is a money hungry turd. I hope that ppl with sense go elsewhere. The staff isn't friendly and they charge too much for basic looking nails. I paid 55 for basic Acrylic nails last month tht didn't last long. SNS has been good quality both times I've been there, not perfect (I'm a perfectionist and hard to please most of the time) but good. And best of all they're quick and prices are fair. My sister treated me to a mani/pedi for my birthday. With this salon being new, I definitely wanted to try it out. It's clean, has tons of chairs and space, and the staff was very nice!
