This was my first tattoo ever, and my experience was fantastic! I got a matching tattoo with my fiancé (who already had four), and the tattoo artist could not have been more friendly and helpful! Would definitely come back to get more ink from Glenn's! Although it says By Appointment only, I walked in and the artist said they are NOT appointment only!

I recently had the best experience here. I came to NC on a trip and wanted a tattoo on a whim. Walked around downtown looking for a walk in tattoo shop and came across Glenn's Tattoo Service! Sam (I think his name was) was very helpful in setting up my tattoo and letting Nick (the tattoo artist) handle everything else. Got a simple Taylor Swift tattoo and it looks amazing. What I loved about my experience the most was Nick's vibe. Laid back guy, totally knowledgable about multiple things, etc. I highly recommend this place! Will be coming back for sure the next time I'm in Wilmington! read more

Glenn's had such a bad rep in Chapel Hill that he had to move to the coast. Hires terrible artists. Still can't do circles or hands. These are basically prison tattoos but with more scar tissue. read more

I popped the idea of getting my first tattoo with my wife and wasn't sure where to go. We came across Glen's shop and had amazing reviews. We walked in and told them what we wanted and they drew it up and it looked good. However didn't look like scheduling was going to work out but Jordan made calls and talked to the owner and was able to get a time setup the next day for us. We came back and Glen himself stayed late to get these done. Everyone was super polite and was willing to answer any questions. Glen did an awesome job and I couldn't be happier with my first tattoo. Place was extremely clean and he opened all equipment in front of us so we new it was clean. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my first tattoo. Glen you just got a life time customer whenever I am in the area again. If you want a tattoo this is the place. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

If your time & money is important to you, I do not recommend. My friends and I arrived at 1:30, having called earlier with the assurance that we would get in shortly, not to be seen until 3:30. When we arrived, we were told it would be about a 40 min wait. Busy day ya think? No. We sat in the empty waiting room alone for two hours, not even acknowledged by the employees, who had seemingly been just chit-chatting in the back. Thank fuck they have a comfy couch. If I could give less stars than that, I would. read more

Me and 3 of my friends were Tattooed by Nick. Very helpful and accommodating & friendly. Price comparable to our normal tattoo artist at home (Wisconsin). Although from the outside it appears like a hodunk shop it is clean neat and sterile on the inside. read more

We took our 12 year old daughter to get second holes in her ears for her birthday. They were super nice and happy to do this! The piercer was perfect and really cool with her, and all around it was a great experience. I would go back for sure! read more

I will never let another artist put ink to my body. Glenn is the without a doubt the best artist in NC. He has done two large pieces on me and has also inked my two sons. Altough I live in the Raleigh, NC area I will continue to drive to Wilimington until my art work is comlete. The shop is super clean and in a great location near the river, close to shopping, dining, and things to do. This is a first class operation. Matt is very authentic, eclectic and has an amazing personality. Throughout the 45 minute session, Matt and I conversed multiple times, mostly about our passion for all things "Horror". This is where my tattoo came in to play. I presented Matt with one dozen Horror-themed ideas approx. 2 months ago and I went with the one he was most passionate about...Ghost Face from the Scream series. This was perfect!! Our youngest son's favorite villain is Ghost Face, plus...Scream 5 just finished filming right here in Wilmington in 2020. Matt nailed this tattoo...I mean, he absolutely crushed it and I could not be any more pleased with the end result. All of Matt's lines are super clean, proportioned perfectly and it looked like a sticker afterward. My skin did not endure much, if any, trauma and bleeding was kept to a minimum. This was a flawless tattoo session and experience all around!!!! The shop was very clean, all employees were masked properly and everyone was down to Earth and friendly.
