We did set up a last minute appointment and wasn't a huge fan of waiting outside in cold weather for like 15-20 mins but it was due to very strict hygiene/ sanitation reasons. They also had us sanitize as we walked in so very clean! It's actually a pretty small shop inside but their prices are great for the art, they also are willing to work with your budget by adjusting size or design which is helpful if you are on a budget. After researching reviews, I decided to try port city. I had 2 simple pieces I wanted done, and walked in with cell phone pics to show them. Zach took a look at my pics, and quickly set about getting them drawn up. He asked a couple times if they looked the way I wanted them to, and made adjustments as I requested. He even went back and made one smaller after we put on the stencil and I didn't like the size. I also ended up adding a third small design, after he had already drawn up the other 2. He helped me decide on proper placement, and did an awesome job on them. They've healed now, and I love all three! The shop was very clean, and comfortable. The guys greeted me as soon as I walked in, and even joked around with my teen son. My son pulled out his computer to play on while he waited, and they were quick to offer their wifi password, which thrilled him! If I'm ever back in the area, they'll be who I go to! Definitely recommend the shop as a whole! My designs were quite simple, so I'm truly not sure about Zachs artistry outside of the small, clean lines he had to use on them, but I definitely wouldn't hesitate to go back to him for a more complex piece. When we came back the next day to ask for a refund, the lady at the front desk immediately took us back to the piercing room to shove new jewelry into the area. When researching what to do the day prior, many results said to wait until the area is fully healed, and then re-pierce the area. My hole had already closed the day before, and she did not even look at the area to make sure it was safe to re-pierce or thread new jewelry inside. When asked about a refund, she replied that the "service had already been done, and the jewelry had already been inside of the piercing." No other accommodations were communicated. Please do not come here for body piercings, they are extremely quick-willed and just want to make a quick dollar. Very unprofessional. (Pasted from my Google review. So many options to choose from! I have my tragus pierced, so I was pleased to discover they had jewelry fitting for that that would not cause irritation. I haven't been able to successfully wear jewelry in this area for more than a day or two in a while over a decade. At least with my specific piercing, I had to buy both the jewelry to post. And it had to be inserted by the professional. they told me in the future that if I were to buy another piece of jewelry that it would be cheaper because I would just buy the post. Anyway - I paid about $50 and did all of that. At first, I was a little disappointed with the price. However, it has been about a month since and I am pleased overall. My jewelry piece is in my ear permanently is not causing any pain or irritation. I would say the most difficult place about shopping here are the options so make sure you are not like me and that you know what it is you are looking for!!

Matt is very authentic, eclectic and has an amazing personality. Throughout the 45 minute session, Matt and I conversed multiple times, mostly about our passion for all things "Horror". This is where my tattoo came in to play. I presented Matt with one dozen Horror-themed ideas approx. 2 months ago and I went with the one he was most passionate about...Ghost Face from the Scream series. This was perfect!! Our youngest son's favorite villain is Ghost Face, plus...Scream 5 just finished filming right here in Wilmington in 2020. Matt nailed this tattoo...I mean, he absolutely crushed it and I could not be any more pleased with the end result. All of Matt's lines are super clean, proportioned perfectly and it looked like a sticker afterward. My skin did not endure much, if any, trauma and bleeding was kept to a minimum.
