He made it his mission to find it. He couldn't find the leak originally and then left for another job. There was an occasion where he had to return a couple of days later after the fix because there was still an issue but he didn't charge us for that visit. Come to find out, it had to do with something else and he fixed that as well. So, when I needed new hot and cold water inlet valves installed before the delivery crew would install my new washer, I called Jafco and made an appointment. The basic fee for a service call was quoted as $180. The Jafco plumber, Leif Storkersen, came as scheduled, looked at the job, and wrote up an estimate. I was stunned to see the cost: $691.38! When I expressed my astonishment and dismay, he explained that they had a minimum job cost, so the price was the total of their minimum job cost plus the two valves, plus tax. I accepted this outrageous bid because I figured that I was on the hook for the service call and because of the time pressure--the washer delivery was scheduled for the next day. Yes, Jafco successfully installed excellent new spigot valves, but I doubt very many plumbers in Seattle would charge almost $700 for barely a half hour of work and a few dollars in parts.
