Hello, I took my elderly mother for an eye exam 2 weeks ago…read more Dr. Thurm was very friendly and pleasant and helped my mom. But the office staff was very rude from the beginning. I am not sure the name of the lady that was assisting us after the exam to choose the frames. Her customer service was awful and i would not go back to this practice. In this business it is all about customer service and the tone she was using was very demeaning and made us feel like we were there for FREE service. When i called 2 weeks later to request a copy of the prescription i was told that "they don't just give out copies like that". I also requested to have it mailed out to me and i was told "i will mail it when i can" This is an unacceptable way for an office staff to deal with a customer. I would not recommend using this practice unless they change their attitude towards people from other nationalities.

One of the BEST doctors I've ever had. Particularly eye doctor. I see him at For Eyes in Norwood…read more Not only him, but his whole staff are so kind, courteous, patient, and competent. ZERO COMPLAINTS. 1) Very personable and relatable. He cares not just about your eyes but you as a whole person, how life is etc. 2) Takes his time to continue the exam and discussion until you are completely satisfied with your prescription. (The only other eye doctor I've had like that was also from 4 eyes in Newton) He even gave me an alternate script so I wouldn't have to come back for another exam just in case I didn't like the first one (which was perfect on the first try) Twice when I had questions (that weren't even urgent), he got on the phone right away and addressed the problem. 3) The whole staff really go out of their way to help you with anything you need, whether it's: -saving a list of all the frames you like whether on not you end up getting any. -thorough cost/quality comparison. Looking up the cheapest way to get frames/contacts/discounts through them or from someone else online. -I particularly like that he gives specific brand recommendations which spared me trial and error. 4) Whether by appointment or a walk-in, I was seen right away, even once when I came in 10 minutes before they closed and he still had more patients to see. They are really understanding if you have a tight schedule and offer as many times as they have until they find you one that works for you. Very grateful to have found this practice. YOU SHOULD NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR EYES BUT FOR EYES from now on :)

Exceptional Service from Start to Finish!…read more I was walking by For Eyes Optical last week and decided to just pop in--and I'm so glad I did! I was warmly greeted by Lia, and after chatting for a few minutes, she told me about the Labor Day sale they were having. She showed me a couple of frames that she thought would look great on me, and she was absolutely right! She even wrote down the frames for me so I could think about it. I told her I'd be back, and she probably thought, "Sure, I'll never see her again!" Well, she was wrong! Lia made such a wonderful impression on me that I went back today with my prescription, and we ordered the frames we had picked out together. And then, somehow, I ended up purchasing a pair of sunglasses too! The entire experience was so easy, relaxed, and enjoyable. Lia was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely interested in helping me find something that looked great. There was absolutely no pressure--just fantastic customer service. I would highly recommend For Eyes Optical, and especially Lia, to anyone looking for new glasses. When she was concerned about my glaucoma risk, she sent me to an ophthalmologist and showed real concern. During a recent contacts fitting for my changing vision, Dr. Cohen went through multiple options and then sent me home with a trial regimen of two different approaches, to see which I preferred. Then when I wasn't thrilled with either (and might have to accept I am nearing a glasses only point), she let me come by for a third approach. Dr. Cohen's staff also is friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful all-female vibe in the office. They also have a great selection of frames (although most are expensive, even at Target frames can be expensive). I was surprised that there are any negative reviews on this page. Understanding the insurance benefits allows the office to provide services that presumably many people decline because they don't have sufficient coverage. Dr. Cohen has been taking care of my vision needs for about 13 years now and I recommend her highly.
