By far the best doctor I've ever had (in any field of medicine). I can't recommend him highly enough!

Exceptional Service from Start to Finish!…read more I was walking by For Eyes Optical last week and decided to just pop in--and I'm so glad I did! I was warmly greeted by Lia, and after chatting for a few minutes, she told me about the Labor Day sale they were having. She showed me a couple of frames that she thought would look great on me, and she was absolutely right! She even wrote down the frames for me so I could think about it. I told her I'd be back, and she probably thought, "Sure, I'll never see her again!" Well, she was wrong! Lia made such a wonderful impression on me that I went back today with my prescription, and we ordered the frames we had picked out together. And then, somehow, I ended up purchasing a pair of sunglasses too! The entire experience was so easy, relaxed, and enjoyable. Lia was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely interested in helping me find something that looked great. There was absolutely no pressure--just fantastic customer service. I would highly recommend For Eyes Optical, and especially Lia, to anyone looking for new glasses. What started as a quick "I'll just pop in" turned into a wonderful experience and two new pairs of glasses! Five stars all around!

I stopped in to get my sunglasses fixed - one of the screws had come out. The staff was very…read morefriendly and helpful, and they took care of it immediately. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back!!

My husband and I started seeing Dr Cohen last year and we both find her to be wonderful. Her…read morestaff/ front office is great and responsive. The exam with Dr Cohen as the most comprehensive exam I have been through since I went to the eye doctor at a fairly young age (8-10 years old). She was the first doctor to ever exam the inside of my eyelids (don't fret she simply flips them over and looks at them) and explain what she was looking for. Dr Cohen is sociable and fun -- chatting throughout the exam to keep things moving along. I love the ability to order contacts online and the prices are comparable to all of the other sites where you have to go through the bother of having the company verify your prescription with the doctor. I also like that she has what appears to be the best and newest technology. For example, she doesn't have to dilate pupils, she has the ability to do imaging (for a small additional cost because insurance won't cover it). I was willing to pay rather than spending my afternoon walking into walls and not being able to work because everything was fuzzy. My husband also went to see Dr Cohen and similar to another poster he also was tested for glaucoma because his imaging showed something off. It was explained to him and he opted for the additional testing. He felt that everything was explained and he understood what his options were for the issues presented. I used to go to the big chain stores and I felt ripped off after seeing what I could get for service with Dr Cohen.

We have been going to Dr Cohen as a family for the past 4 years now and found the whole office to…read morebe extremely professional, helpful and wonderful. Dr Cohen herself is very knowledgeable, personable and goes out of her way to give you ample information about your tests, results etc which goes a long way in building trust and establishing a comfort level.

I picked Modern Eyes out of sheer desperation and am so happy with my panic Zocdoc choice. Finding…read morea doctor who's in-network for your insurance plan and can also see you on short notice is always a crapshoot but Dr. Stetson was very kind and patient. He took the time to show me the images he took of my eyeballs, walk through what the problem was (wearing contact lenses for too long), and put me at ease from beginning to end. The wait time wasn't bad at all. I was seen very close to my appointment time and was out of there in under half an hour. Not to mention there were quite a few parking spots right in front of the office. The office is very clean and modern-looking. All in all, this was a much more pleasant experience than the eye office I usually go to (Boston Eye in Brookline, where you can wait close to up an hour to see a doctor and there's no validation for parking).

Most of my experiences with Eye Doctors and Glasses stores have been uneven. For example, I really…read morelike the selection of frames and the technician but not the doctor. Or the reverse. Well Modern Eyes solves that problem by giving you an amazing experience at each step of the process. The initial exam was done by a student that's looking to be an Eye Dr. and she was very thorough. The eye DR was excellent he took his time and actually explained things. The last person was Elliot the technician that helps with the glasses and this gentleman sets the bar for the level of care and service that you should receive. This place is amazing. I'm now a customer for life!

I had LASIK done on Tuesday this week with Dr. Violin and Elaine. Both of which were fantastic…read more Here are my thoughts: 1) LASIK is somewhat competitive with companies so if the first thing you think about is cost, you can negotiate a good price - always negotiate because there is a good deal out there somewhere. I went for the free consult on Thursday 8/9/2012 and they scheduled my procedure for the following Tuesday - which is beyond awesome. 2) Elaine (nurse) - was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She will return calls very promptly. She laid out all the good and the potential bad so that you have nothing to imagine after the procedure. Elaine will certainly make things much more comfortable. 3) The procedure - FAST. So you get this done in Quincy. Parking is terrible so get there a few minutes early. They will give you "something nice" to help you relax. The total time of laying on the procedure bed to the time you stand up and leave is seriously 5 minutes. The laser process is about 2-3 minutes total time for both eyes. They will talk to you throughout the procedure. Awesome. A lot of pressure but you can expect that. 4) Post-op - within a half hour after the procedure, the drugs wear off and it becomes extremely uncomfortable. All you want to do is close your eyes and rip something close to you in half. Hopefully you won't get stuck in traffic as I did. Take your happy pill and some NyQuil and sleep it off for a few hours. You will wake up and start to see nice. The next day I was seeing 20/15. Light sensitivity is very annoying but I can put up with it for that it's great to not need corrective lenses. The light sensitivity will make lights halo or glow a lot and certainly make things a little fuzzy. Just wear a hat for a few days. 5) Final words - I am on day 2 post-op. I am still sensitive to light but I see great. Better than great. My left eye is more sensitive than the right but I guess that is normal. I was 7 the last time I didn't need glasses - I never wore contacts. So I have no idea what it was like. It's like brand new to me. I am hoping that in another few days, it will all go away. On last thing - the protective goggles they provide you to wear at night for a week will leave deep imprints on your face if you sleep on the side of your face. Practice sleeping on your back. Job well done Dr. Violin and Elaine

After seeing the other reviews, I feel compelled to contribute…read more Dr. Condon treats my entire family. He is professional, experienced, very knowledgable and kind. We have accessed other opthamology and optometry practices over the past 8 - 10 years for various reasons including clinical concerns and convenience and we have been invited to remain in those other practices (including eye physicians at Newton Wellesley and Mass General) but we keep returning to to Dr. Condon. In the same span of 8-10 years, out of necessity, we've also been to Lens Crafters, For Eyes, Sears Optical and BJs Optical and, in the case of BJs and Lens Crafters, had nothing but ridiculous experiences with optometrists who are only interested in selling new lenses by changing prescriptions. As a prior reviewer noted, an incorrect prescription causes symptoms; Dr Condon has always been gracious and sympathetic when we've returned to him with new incorrect prescriptions from Lens Crafters and BJ's. In these 2 situations, upon his exam, our prescriptions had not changed. Big waste of time and money at BJs and Lens Crafters. Glasses purchased with Dr Condon's prescriptions have never been a problem. Humans can make errors. It is the frequency of errors that should impact a healthcare provider's reputation, NOT the office decor! ...it is utterly ridiculous to judge a clinician by his office decor and whether or not computers are visible. Dr Condon's private practice beats the chrome, gloss and superficiality of any chain optometry office. Yelp reviews of healthcare providers are worthless if the reviews are based on aesthetics rather than clinical competence.
